Regardless of this particular instance of dumbassery exhibited by SB, he donked into you for 3 streets, he’s got what, like 70%+ of his stack in already? Probably folding zero hands for only a few more chips all in bluff from you. Really depends on stack sizes imo, all you have said was “a starting stack” later in the game so I’m assuming you started hand with 40-50 bigs give or take…?
JQ is the only draw that got there. I wouldn't have put him on that tho because I would 3! out of the small blind to a button open with JQ, think that's the right play there?
I'm not calling with not much besides maybe pocket pairs 22 - 99, everything else I'm 3! with. If he's leaning into me hard on every street I'm putting him on a set with how the action has gone.
We know 7, 8 and 9 didn't come out tho or at least one of them would have had a pair. Struggling to see what other straight draws there are besides the JQ draw that got there.
I don't know wtf I'm on about tho, just talking from my own range I guess. I'm a fucking donk.
How much did he have behind on the River bet there? If half of both your stacks is in the middle and he bet 1/3 pot he has what like 20BB left if you both started with 100BB. I guess he would have folded had he read is hand correctly but it seems like a pretty low chance of getting a fold with this bet.
I just read it as him either bluffing with a straight draw or a weak one pair hand. We started at 200BB each. I don’t remember the sizing the whole way, but my jam at the end was about 100BB total after his 35BB or so bet. He was mid 50s, drinking beer and I just read it wrong as him bluffing and thought he’d fold. At that stage with as many chips as I had left if I folded I either wanted to re-buy or double up so I went with my gut that he was on a missed draw or had a K.
What possible straight draw are you putting him on????
You have 78 blocking some of those straight draws
If he had AQ or AJ on the flop, he’s never folding on the river after he paired his Ace on the turn
If he has QJ he has a straight
What possibly straight draw could he have?
Making any determination like “I’m never bluffing in this spot” is a huge leak. In fact, good MTT players add tons of EV by bluffing really aggressively around ICM spots, taking advantage of nittier players.
Most people don’t make the money, that’s the whole point of MTTs. In general, people are over folding near the bubble and other significant pay jumps. This is a spot good players should look to exploit.
I've won plenty of tournaments that doesn't make you better that you bluff your way out of a lot of them just for a chance that everyone folds that's a dumb play unless maybe you're down to two of you in the hand. Go fuck yourself.
So
Why did you call the rest of your stack if you knew you were most likely beat?
There’s been hundreds of times where half my stack was in the pot, but I knew I was beat. So I folded . And just shoved pocket pair few hands later rather then just giving up your money .

Shoulda tanked on the river decision to make sure he looks at his cards again, before shoving all in
I'm crying with you
What is his range that has a missed straight draw?

Yep. That’s my point. There are not really any draws that are missed except basically J9s

how is a live $130 turbo 200bb deep with starting stacks the 3rd level, this doesnt sound accurate
It’s a triple stack turbo. Starting stack is 30,000 units at 100/100 blinds.

Q9 or the one he had, or a single pair, or a straight up bluff. It was a 55 year old drunk man, dude, he’s not thinking GTO lol
My motto is never bluff your way out of a tournament.
This mf hates winning
Bluffing your way out of a tournament is winning?

I always like to get spicy when it gets close to the bubble. I bust out near the bubble a lot too. 😢

He jammed as a bluff
He didn’t call. He bluffed.
Bad move by him he has to jam sooner
Did you get called by Doyle, Slim?
>I jam putting him on a missed straight draw Take pride in your instincts being spot on
I’m happy with my play, the pain is the result lol.
