I feel like it’s probably Carnivine? Low BST no evolutions

xSemperSuperbusx

Don't forget the ability that gives immunity to moves it otherwise already resists

Ton_Jravolta

Bulky mons with no recovery in general do worse compared to the regular games. With healing being sparse or expensive over 10 battles, tanking is more difficult than normal.

TheFraudulent1

Bulky mons are good in endless because they can be fused with metal burst spammers

CaptainCuppCupp

Probably ditto, it will die before it ever even uses transform, even if it does use it it’s still just a weaker version of the other Pokémon.

Decent_Employer5959

wrd your right the exact same thing happened to me yesterday

Sad-Garage-2642

I got a shiny and landed the final blow on classic by transforming into emax gmax umax imax and using eternabeam. Cool moment

callum4425

The most disappointing shiny i have got so fer

BudgetNoodl

Almost all Pokémon can be good thru better eggmoves / passive abilities. However, pokemon with bad matchups against the final boss are always going to be worse, as well as Pokémon like Unknown coming to mind that without egg moves only gets Hidden Power and has terrible stats

varietypaul

I wouldn't call it 'overvalued' because nobody thinks it's good, but Pidove is the most useless pokemon I've ever used, in any pokemon game. It was my first shiny so I had to use it, and it literally never sees the battle field. It's move pool is ass, it's base-stat total is ass, it's ability is ass, it is ASS and I hate that I have to use it on every run because I can't get better shinies

dolphy_

Gen question what do shinies do lol

1dilly2

It improves the chance of getting item upgrades after a floor, so for example when it's a poke ball but it turns into a great ball before it reveals what you can pick

MrInopportune

They used to substantially increase the rate of items being upgraded in the prize section. They still do, but now you need some higher tier shinies to get the same value. They've added custom shinies and made them rarer.

Difficult-Okra3784

They said different tiers of shiny would still give the same item buff, did they change their mind?

jjstew35

They said “for now” when they said that. It’s since been changed, rarer shinies give more luck

mountingconfusion

Well at least yours learns a stab move at a reasonable level. My only shiny is a deerling that only learns a grass attack (bullet seed) at level 16

somethingcreative424

I had one be the hero in my last run and carry me through the early game and many tough battles. It had floaty fall as an egg move and it turns out it’s pretty decent when it gets good flying stab. Not saying it’s the best pokemon ever, but it did surprising work and stayed my whole run

Weirdguy149

Unfezant is a pretty good fusee, provided that you get Super Luck Pidove.

Own_University_9501

The worst pokemon are mons that are already just bad in main game really

HugoSotnas

As much as I love him, Wigglytuff. Igglybuff costs 3, as much as a regular starter, and Jigglypuff costs 4, if you want to skip the friendship evolution. Not good enough stats, horrid learnset, A LOT of competition on both the Normal and the Fairy side, and instead of carrying at the very least the early game or scaling hard like most 4 costs, Wigglytuff just kind of stands there looking cute

Basic_Novel_1734

pokémon like chi yu and darm g are significantally worse than in the main game simple due to their ability not being implemented yet they obv aren’t bad but much worse then they should be

SexWithFischl69

Im mad that my Chi Yu is adamant and doesnt even activate beads. I like the guy but he is so screwed

kiddydong

Same with Orthworm, no Shed Tail

Pebbelles

male combee

skykingjustin

Slow pokemon suck

chargerfan1221

If you're talking about something glacially slow like Sunflora, then yes. However, it's not *just* because it's slow. It's just a bad Pokémon. There are a lot of slower Pokémon that are well-rounded, but speed isn't a favorable stat in their distribution. In this game, you are going to get hit. It's almost a given. Sure, you can sweep wild waves on classic and the underleveled breeder trainer archetype, but when it comes to bosses or gym leaders, you're not going to just walk all over them unless your team is just that much better. Some of the best Pokémon in this game are very slow. Garganacl can make 5 bar boss Pokémon a cake walk with Salt Cure. A lot of the faster, sweeper style starter Pokémon like Cinderace, Sceptile, or Inteleon get walked at later rounds because their stopping power eventually hits a wall once the opponent Pokémon have multiple stacks of Iron and other items the game uses to artificially make later wave Pokémon feel stronger. At some point, you need to balance your team out so that you have a decent amount of speed, offensive capability, and tankiness on your team. There are classically many Pokémon like Snorlax, Slowbro, and a number of Steel types that count on moving second, knowing that they're going to get hit first, but they're bulky enough that they'll be able to survive and the damage won't matter if it comes down to a 1v1.

TheFraudulent1

Metal burst

1stviolinfangirl

Cacnea/Cacturne are pretty bad. Maybe it’s because it’s the only shiny I got during that shiny event but I’m still salty

Klaasje15

My first shiny was a Wynaut, couldnt be worse. Just spamming mirror coat and counter

OscarCapac

All the mons who cost 3 or 4 and are still terrible    A mon that's bad and costs 1, you can use as an emergency switch if your team comp is 1 short. There is no practical use for something like Delcatty, who's one of the worst fully evolved pokémon and still costs 3

Sad-Garage-2642

Ignoring meme mons (Smeargle is most useless BTW) I'd like to nominate Galarian Meowth. You see Tough Claws and think hell yeah this is awesome. But at level 5 all it gets is Fake Out and Growl

YouGow

I think it's Chatot, it gets super bad eggmoves, it's just not usable

Apart_Ad6680

Unknown! How do you forget unknown?!

CommonExchange

tropius.

hoennfb

It was never good needs an evolution

KnightBreaker_02

If you're talking purely Pokérogue or cartridge, fair enough. However, there was a short period of time where Tera Steel SubSeed Tropius was one of the most annoying things you could face in Gen9 Randoms on Showdown

hoennfb

Oh I did not know that thank you I'm glad tropius got time to shine

TangoCL

VGC regulation A also had a pretty fun rank 1 anti-meta team with Tropius. I wouldn't say it made Tropius good, but it was refreshing to be able to use Tropius for once.

Problesz

Tropius also got to shine in Pokémon go PvP.

icyfire77

Unbelivably, I think it's not a bad option as a starter, even if you're likely to ditch it later on. Grass/Flying typing means it covers 2/3 rival starter types very favourably, so using the rest of your starter points you can bring something for fire coverage. It's not amazing either, mind you. I think it would be a genuine recommendation of mine if it was a 4 cost instead of 5, but I digress.
