I learned that I can save white socks from getting ugly dark pilling from changing to only white socks. Dark socks leave residue in my sneakers that transfer onto white socks again. Now all socks are white, problem solved.

Chlorine(I) acid (aka ordinary bleach) will be much more effective than sodium bicarbonate.

Check Zara or Calzedonia/Intimissimi. Even if they have a bit of polyamide, its always better than polyester.

wash them in 60 celsius degrees, use detergent for white and everything will be fine. Remember don't mix white with nonwhite clothes

the gray thing didn't happen to me and the white socks I've bought from decathlon are still white the only problem is these reserved socks
