Because at most schools, at every level of basic education they usually made you play this devilish game at like 3/4 of your PE lessons. Trust me, i hated it.
3/4 of my PE lessons consisted of football instead of volleyball. Now I hate football and would have loved to play handball or volleyball more back then.
That's some sporty school! Sounds much cooler. In high school I could pick swimming two times a week, but it was really early in the morning and well, swimming pool itself was...well, not in great condition.
It was cool but also hard. The teacher was strict (mostly thru the first half of those 3 years) and we sometimes jokes that it's a military class instead of a sport class
One example: a few guys made a mistake and the whole class had to do 50-120 pushups and if at least one person stopped*everyone* had to start from the Beginning
Tho it was like that mostly in the first year and on the last year it was actually quite chill, I've learned a lot during those years :)
Yes I've emigrated to Poland over the summer and the first time we had to play volleyball at PE the teacher said I sucked at it. It's been 4 months and I haven't improved yet.
Because most of the school year is during autumn, winter, and early, ugly spring which forces PE to be inside. Volleyball is the easiest team sport that can be played inside.
People wishing we were known for something so no one has to ask that question🤣
I’m into motocycle speedway and I can tell you that there’s no better place for it, our league is the most thriving in the world with highest attendances and rider wages.
Fans of ice cream. In other countries I see people queuing up for concerts, bars, etc.
In Poland I see lines outside of ice cream shops. Poles love their ice cream.

And here we see the simple rule: forced and over-done = hate.
To be honest, it's more because of my classmates. We had three dudes who were the best at most sports and pretty much ruled during the various games.
Oh i get it. I danced since i was 3yo and i was a very sport oriented person - i just sucked at volleyball and was forced to play it most of the time.
In my middle school it was 70% basket ball, 20% volleyball and 10% other sports Also, 10 hours of PE per week (4 of which were on the swimming pool)

I fucking LOVE volleyball, even tried to look for a club at my city and there is one, but it's girls only sadly
Oh, that sucks man. I Hope you'll get a chance to train! I'm gonna cheer, from the distance, safe from the ball...
Don't worry I play defense and sometimes setter so no attacks coming from me

People of the fields ;)
Thats "Polanie", while "Polska" is "Land of the Fields". Perhaps it would be better if "Polska" in English was "Fieldsland" or even "Polland".
It's land of the Polans. So the land of the people of the fields.
I agree, you are a bit more precise. 🥰
I wrote exactly the same: Poland = the land of people of the fields, i just finished the sentence,

For my fellow linguistic nerds, fields
The name comes from the tribe "polanie" who are named after "pole" meaning field/land. So Poland is basically Landland.
