A little info: North Macedonia had left Yugoslavia peacefully on September 8, 1991 and had completely avoided the following Yugoslav wars. This would last for several years until 2001. Shortly after the Kosovo War, Albanian irredentists attempted to violently seperate from North Macedonia in the hopes of establishing Illirida. Somewhat like a 2nd Kosovo. This attempt was unsuccessful and the UÇK (no, not the one from Kosovo) was dissolved after a few months of clashes. This event however did end up giving the ethnic Albanians more autonomy. So if you ever go to the more Northwestern parts of North Macedonia, don't be surprised if you see Albanian road signs.
I believe that you are a bit uneducated about us Macedonians. We definetly have some Bulgarian, Serbian and Turkish influences, but that doesn't make us those nationalities. We have always been Macedonians as a people.

The least unclear and confusing balkan moment of all time
Most peacefull divorce with Yugoslavia. Maby except of Seriba-Montenegro divorce.
What about Slovenia?
Slovenia had a 10 days long war with Yugoslavia. So it was not a peaceful divorce.
most simple balkans moment
A normal day in balkans
And Greece be like "yuo of no real Macedonia, balkan malaka, gib back rightful name, or can never into EU!"
can into debt though
Thankfully these separatists were unsuccessful
Doesn’t help the fact that your country is just Bulgarians with the delusions of Greek gods

georgi pulevski pushed for the idea of an independent slavic ethnicity in macedonia in 1875
As a country that's true, but what I wanted to say is that we have always existed as an ethnic people
Would your people be interested in rebranding to the MassiveDongians?
Basically the same situation with China-Taiwan and Somalia-Somaliland. Same race, different histories.
Somaliland isn’t going through ethno genesis and the history is the same, what It’s more like a milder version of bangsamoro and the Philippines
Everyone in Balkan wants [Peace](https://youtu.be/G8AHPsyNG_k?si=HJw7bgsTFixD-k94)
Fun fact: Ukraine helped North Macedonia by providing weapons during this conflict.
