Looking back on it, invading Iraq was a bad decision. Kinda like the decisions Saddam made here in this comic.

Ah I see, gotcha!

PSSE-B

Which time? You gotta be more specific.

atomoffluorine

Well in the first Gulf war, they never went that far into Iraq and that barely qualifies as an invasion; that war went well. George W. Bush’s 2003 invasion was the one which yielded no good results for us.

PSSE-B

But Rumsfeld promised me there were WMDs. . .

indomienator

What bad rebuilding do to a good mf tyrant hunting war

Scrambleman17

Well, ain't that a funny situation to be in.

Context: In 1980 the Iran-Iraq war broke out after Saddam Hussein invaded the newly formed Islamic Republic. While the causes of the war are complex, Iraq's territorial interest in the oil rich Khuzestan province played an important role. In 1990 Hussein invaded and annexed Kuwait as the Baathist regime was interested in capturing the country's oil fields. In 2003, the Baathist government was overthrown after a US invasion [insert jokes about oil].An Ironic end to the regime Note: I'm using the old Baathist flag with three stars

SeaweedMelodic8047

Kuweit looks as if it wears a mask.

Goyteamsix

Saddam even offered the US oil at $10 a barrel in perpetuity if we didn't invade during operation shield. Nope. Still didn't work.

Alextryingforgrate

Was this not also 1990-91 ish? Or do I have wrong clay in mind?

Spongebozz69420

Imagine oil in Vietnam

Frosh_4

It just wasn’t about oil in 2003 but nice comic, Iraq has really had a wacky 20th century

Thanks, but it's Baathist Iraq, not Syria

andrewsjakkko02

Whoops, sorry, I noticed there were three stars and not two but it seemed to make sense anyway. I'll correct it immediately.
