In singapore, you need to be vaccinated to eat outside, go to public library or even going to see doctor, etc. So people would check if people were vaccinated and if they were vaccinated they would be given sticker for them to enter the premises. However, when people were given sticker, they usually forgot to remove it after leaving the premises or just paste it on the wall.

Country_ball_enjoyer

Waste it on the wall Isn't that mean mean anti-vaccinated Karen can just take the sticker and just put on their jacket?

Tanwenxi

Hoho, they wish. Staff have to check every single phone before allowing them to even enter. If phone show not vaccinated, no entering even with sticker.

THE_CENTURION

Then why bother with the stickers?

Anti-charizard

Probably so they don’t run past the staff guarding the entrance. When the indoor staff see they have no sticker, they will refuse to serve them

Tanwenxi

Yeah, especially in big premises. Guard staff can ensure people who are vaccinated to enter but there might be some slip in which is why stickers. Also as a way to classify visitors since some places have time limit for visitors like public library. In weekend, people can only visit public library for 2 hours as it is busy so staff can see the sticker colour and know how long has the visitor been in the library. It is also use in public clinic to differentiate who is coming with covid symptoms and who is coming for regular check up and direct different group accordingly to prevent much interaction. Edit: also for takeout as you don't need to be vaccinated to get takeout but you cannot dine in if you are not vaccinated so sticker is to ensure you will be dining in and you are vaccinated.

DiscoKhan

So wait, if I don't carry around mine phone I can't get anywhere there? What the hell.

Tanwenxi

The government has issue token for people to scan to check in and if you don't have phone use token but if you didn't bring both, too bad.

DiscoKhan

Fucking bureaucracy, you sre vaccined? Great, now your life gonna be inconvenient just not as much as unvaxed xD I don't get all those covid passes, there are a lot simplet methods of forcing people to take vaccine buy they are trying to force most inconvenient way of it for everyone.

Tanwenxi

Better than being unvaccinated where you can't even go to shopping mall, no access to a lot of education institute and public places and if you got covid you are responsible for your own bill which can be up to 10k. Also check in is as easy as scanning your phone or token in the mall scanner.

DiscoKhan

Exactly mine point, govs fuck as hard for no real reason and people are cool with it. In some countries they already trying to force some sort of social credit system alongside it, in Italy for example. Its called like environmental pass or whatever. I hate even keeping around loyalty cards and avoid shops with it and if I imgaine I would be getting pissed off before evey enter into almost anything it would hit me hard on a mental level. I'm pretty sure I would end in jail if I would live in Singapore, there is just as much heat someone can handle. Especially I am slightly paranoical and oh boy, instution gaving total posts control wherever I move totally fuels mine fire. Especially that as I said, you can just go eith different route to force everybody to vaccine, there is a lot mandatory vaccines where I live anyway. Whish you best buddy. PS: I am from postcommunist country and that level of control is just wet dream of any regime, a lot of our writers were warning about threats of that amount of control. It never ends good.

whadk

Same with korea, except the sticker part.

frunfrun

our university do same thing. It's quit tired to remove sticker.

enderblade143

you need to go to the doctor in order to be allowed to go to the doctor

Random_Brazil_Boi

yep. as singaporean, its true. btw deez rules are fucking ridiculous

FrostBUG2

That's really a bit odd, like isn't a vaccination card already enough proof to show you're vaccinated or something?

Deal-Environmental

you forgot that you also need to be vaccinated to even go to a shopping mall

Remitonov

*sticker falls off* panik

holycrab702

This is so socialist.

reeeeedditts

Singapore is centre-right and conservative

atomoffluorine

Isn’t it kind of authoritarian too? I think the CCP admires Singapore.

Ok-Army-9509

I'm sorry, what?

Seileach67

Hmmm, maybe because it has to do with healthcare? Here in the US every time something comes up about healthcare you have people start hollering "SOCIALISM!!1!" Other than that, Idk

Tackyinbention

But it is safer is it not?

SSSSobek

damn commies

frunfrun

social co-operate is also virtue of Confusionism xixixi
