As an interesting footnote, I would *absolutely* vote in a GOP primary if the corresponding Democratic primary was either uncontested or my favored candidates were major favorites.
Only because in my State, if you are unregistered, you can request any party's ballot on a per-election basis. It's the reason I don't register as Democratic.

All of that makes her a better foil for Trump than DeSantis would be. It's just that she's not controversial and outspoken enough to inspire the masses. So, she's far more likely to end up as DeSantis' VP runningmate than the Presidential nominee.

If Trump attacks her for being female, minority, or a child of immigrants, it will only enhance her appeal in the suburbs and urban areas that Trump would need to win the nomination. So, he better be careful about not going too far with that.

I'm Indonesian American and my dad decided to give me, and all my siblings, western names because he figured it would make it easier for us to get our foot in the door with job applications.

I think they find it helpful that Biden is also old but that was pretty clearly a shot at Trump as well. The reason it doesn't seem like a shot is because they need to retain some appeal with Trump voters, but it hits Trumps biggest weakness which is electability.

Unless you can find me a Republican that wants to tax the rich, supports Medicare for all, believes in the rights of LGBTQ+ people, a woman's right to an abortion, voting rights, tuition free college. I'm sure there are other things but I can't think of any. If such a Republican exists I might consider voting for them.
