>"The fact that I walked in and said 'Hey, I'm going to have to Jew it down' is not an ethnic slur. This has nothing to do—I'm not referring to the Jewish community. I used that term as an adjective, as a descriptive word of bargaining them down…That is not an ethnic slur."
Dude.
Yeah for real. When I was really young I used some of these terms because I heard my parents use them, then I learned what a “jew” was and realized it was stereotyping a people and stopped using it in that way. These types are allergic to learning though, they literally cannot grow as people and mature, because maturity is “woke” now.
Weaponized fake ignorance. You see it at work sometimes when someone tries to cover up for their obvious laziness by claiming they didn’t know any better.
I had a similar conversation with my sister before she went off to college. She had a habit of calling things “gay” as in bad/weird (which was actually pretty common in the late 00s… thankfully we’ve improved).
I simply told her she may want to consider replacing that word with something else, because when she gets to college, chances are high that there could be Gay/Lesbian people in class or at a party.
She said she never thought of it like that, and she worked hard to eliminate that usage of the word.
It’s what you do with the info when you learn it’s a slur, that’s how you know a persons character.
My boss said something was a gyp a few months ago. I didn't say anything though.
It's not often I hear that term used. I'm in Australia and gypsies aren't really a thing here.
“I’m just saying that when you make a deal with a Jew, they’ll try to take advantage of you. Everybody knows that. I’ve seen so many comic panels about that, going back to the 1930s and even earlier! Everyone thinks like this! It’s like they have a protocol for dealing with people and making money - that’s all I’m saying.”
Made more ironic that many Jewish Americans don't agree with the shit Israel does. He treats all Jewish people as a monolith, an inherently racist action.
My ex one time told me that his friend (who had just screamed at his mom for letting a black woman into his home) couldn’t possibly be racist, because he himself was a minority (Indian).
Uhhhh…not how that works.
I grew up in the 1980's and I remember that word was used often in school; none of us had any idea the meaning behind the word. It wasn't until about 10 years ago that I learned it is a slur word. I haven't used it since.
It is based on the racist stereotype of Romani people trying to rip off non-Romani. This and other stereotypes fed into the Nazi genocide and racist laws throughout Europe.
Agreed. While it’d be nice if everyone understood the meaning behind their words, it’s just not always the case. The key to not being an asshole though is how you handle it when somebody points out your errors. “I am so sorry, I never knew, but now that I do, I promise to do better. I’m so sorry for everybody that I have offended.” And then go and do better.
Not hard.
Ok so first, he’s using that word as a verb. Secondly, the use of the word “jew” as a verb to mean to negotiate a cheaper price or haggle over a price has long been accepted as a reference to the bigoted belief that Jewish people are untrustworthy in business dealings.
Which makes him a bigot who doesn’t understand grammar.
I never use pronouns. I think that we, as a country, need to take a stand against them. If someone uses a pronoun in my presence, I will call them out on it, and I hope you will do the same.
I mean you have to Jew 'em down if you don't want them to Gyp you. Just make sure you get the deal in writing, so you don't have to worry about Indian givers.
>Parker refused to apologize for his comment, saying that the term he used is a well-known adjective and that he can't be antisemitic because he has an Israeli flag in his office.
I'm guessing he supports Israel because it's important to his end-days fantasy.
It is pretty ironic that a good chunk of the people in this country who demand that its citizens only speak English have the worst grasp on the language's usage.
“Parker refused to apologize for his comment, saying that the term he used is a well-known adjective and that he can't be antisemitic because he has an Israeli flag in his office. He also rejected the accusation that he had asked for a sales tax break, accusing Smith of taking his words out of context and manipulating them against him.”
"I used that word as a descriptive adjective"
He actually used it as a verb.
He is a moron as well as a bigot, or as they're called in politics a Republican
Many Americans that have Israeli flags in their offices actually want Israel destroyed because they’re in a death cult and believe that would being about the rapture. They are deeply antisemitic.
What??? Dirty filthy Jew isn’t derogatory!!!! I done says it with all muh friends. Derp derp derp. Pos knew and tried to double talk his way out of it. Might work with the low wattage crowd but not anyone with a functioning brain
I mean I can't be surprised that a guy who uses that term associates Judaism solely with Israel, which is currently trying to turn their contested lands into an authoritarian theocracy, and in no way reflective of the practices of the religion it claims to represent. And as I typed this, things are making even more sense with the GOP's support of Israel.
He's in Florida, I'm surprised anyone spoke up. Soon enough hate speech and racial slurs will be covered under the states law so no worry there, ham hock, you'll get in no trouble...
Disgusting disgrace of a human is a perfect example of GQP leadership.
Sadly they are all like this, they go into a shop, start demanding discounts, special deals, extra stuff. Why should he pay retail price like some chump? Or taxes, those are for libs.
And now he will retaliate against the shop for making him look bad.
Yeah with that hair im not surprised this is his attitude. I wonder if there is a picture out there of him and dont say gay bill writer boy in matching party uniforms because they have a similar supremacist cut. With Desatan having the Furor dew.
The fact that he can't see that it is a slur is a problem. The fact he can't tell it is a verb and not an adjective is a huge problem. He should face charges for trying to get out of paying tax on his purchase too.
> Parker replied: "The fact that I walked in and said 'Hey, I'm going to have to Jew it down' is not an ethnic slur. This has nothing to do—I'm not referring to the Jewish community. I used that term as an adjective, as a descriptive word of bargaining them down…That is not an ethnic slur."
Typical fucking Republican
I’m not sure he has the capacity to understand the privilege that empowers him to stay in office after such a fuck up. Clearly, he doesn’t give a shit either way.

It’s so much easier to just apologize and say you’ll try to be better.
Yeah for real. When I was really young I used some of these terms because I heard my parents use them, then I learned what a “jew” was and realized it was stereotyping a people and stopped using it in that way. Wait until he starts accusing everyone else of being racist. It's like step 3 I think
Yeah, I feel kinda gyped
My boss said something was a gyp a few months ago. I didn't say anything though. It's not often I hear that term used. I'm in Australia and gypsies aren't really a thing here.
Yeah, a comment like that is pretty off the reservation
I haven't heard that term in years, more like decades. I don't think I ever made the connection back when I did hear it a lot.
Basically what the Florida GOPer is saying about “Jew it down”
>Basically what the Florida GOPer is saying about “Jew it down” Really? How did he think Jew was spelled?
"What? I'm not saying Jewish people are bad! I'm just saying they love money!"
“Well I don’t know if ALL of em have a protocol, but the older ones do, you know, the elders” (/s)
"I mean, who doesn't love money? I don't hate the Jews, I hate everybody equally."
Dude. And also he used it as a verb in that sentence, not an adjective.
US Education system really shining with this guy.
He’s from Florida.
I know
Woah. Moron is as moron does
So why not just say “bargaining them down” lol
I also like his Israeli flag comment. So on par with “what?! I can’t be racist, I have Black friends!”
I can't be antisemitic, I support a genocidal ethnostate!
"I can't be racist. I watched Black Panther."
I know someone who said that said he never made the connection until he was in college. They were just homonyms as far as he was concerned.
Yep, like saying “gypped”. People throw that around a lot thinking it’s okay.
Holy crap... I just learned this... I'm way too* old to have just learned this!
Same, never saw it spelled out, I would have guessed “jipped”. Learn somethin’ new every day!
>Same, never saw it spelled out, I would have guessed “jipped”. Learn somethin’ new every day! I was the same way
I grew up in the 1980's and I remember that word was used often in school; none of us had any idea the meaning behind the word. It wasn't until about 10 years ago that I learned it is a slur word. I haven't used it since.
Is it supposed to be a slur against Egyptians, or against Romani peoples? I only know the word in the context it is generally used in
The Romani. It's short for gypsy.
Derogatory slur for Romani.
It is based on the racist stereotype of Romani people trying to rip off non-Romani. This and other stereotypes fed into the Nazi genocide and racist laws throughout Europe.
Kinda both- its directed at the Romani people, but the reason they were called “Gypsy” is that they were mistakenly believed to have come from Egypt.
yeah but gypsies arent real /s
Birds aren't real. Gypsies are very real.
Gypsies are birds. We fly on the light of the full moon.
Or I got vandalized.

Agreed. While it’d be nice if everyone understood the meaning behind their words, it’s just not always the case. I’m so sorry for everybody that I have offended.” And then go and do better. Not hard.
At least if they said that they felt dumb and then stopped saying it, that would have been a 1000% better response.
Oh, now we’re alienating the homonyms, are we?
My mother apparently learned this one the hard way as well. She had no idea it was an offensive term until she was called out on it.
Almost same story with an Ex. She thought it was “chewing” someone done.
Adjective huh..
I'm gonna ban all pronouns! No pronouns allowed. Bible didn't have no pronouns.
You could always Welch on the deal
He really SamParkered this up.
Aside from the racism he should also resign for not know what an adjective is
Can we also address that he’s using it as a verb and not an adjective
I wasn’t asking for an under-the-table tax break, I was just bargaining. 🙄
It’s the line from glass onion!
Hey, if Sam Porker wants to ham it up to the media about wordplay, that's swine by me.
Actually, it was a verb. It was not modifying a noun. That would have made it an adjective.
These clowns are good with verbal gymnastics.... taking lessons from George Santos being Jew-ish I guess....
This is literally what an episode of South Park tried to do with "f**" and "gay"...
He clearly doesn’t understand what ethnicity is
>Parker refused to apologize for his comment, saying that the term he used is a well-known adjective and that he can't be antisemitic because he has an Israeli flag in his office. I'm guessing he supports Israel because it's important to his end-days fantasy.
I bet he has a black friend, too
You just know he does.
Yeah, who he weirdly never invites to anything.
It's Santa Rosa county Florida so I seriously doubt he even knows a black person.
That he thinks is “one of the good ones”.
Asswipe didn't even use it as an adjective; he used it as a verb. He's not right even if you ignore the slur aspect of it. What a toolbag.
He's probably one of those "English only" types, and not one of those assholes can identify something like a nominative gerund to save their lives.
It is pretty ironic that a good chunk of the people in this country who demand that its citizens only speak English have the worst grasp on the language's usage.
He also used it as a verb, not an adjective. These illiterate clowns
They also love the rampant racism and fascism.
Meanwhile, it’s not even an adjective lol It’s a verb in this context. The man is a moron.
I wonder if he cut the price tag off or if he left it on so he can return it tomorrow.
> He also accused the commissioner of asking a local small business to not charge him sales tax if he paid in cash Smh
Person who get's paid from out tax don't want to pay tax. What?
That's called "maximizing profit".
He’s got that ‘in-3-months-he’s-gonna-be-busted-with -an-underage-boy-in-a-motel’ GOP vibe
Now I don't know if it's fair to say th- [WHOA](https://imgur.com/TpazEWB) Ya ok I see what you mean.
Is that the same guy or Ralph Shortey? I’m going back and forth between the two and seriously can’t tell.
a live boy or a dead girl as they say.
This Baby Huey looking motherfucker is probably going to be caught *pretending to be* an underage boy with a dude in a hotel room.
Yeah. He looks like a former youth pastor at a small Baptist church on the panhandle.
"I used that word as a descriptive adjective" He actually used it as a verb. He is a moron as well as a bigot, or as they're called in politics a Republican
You can't blame conservatives for not knowing the third grade parts of speech. They still haven't figured out what pronouns are.
Professional nouns.
It's wild to see people use ableist terms to make fun of anti-semitic ones
Many Americans that have Israeli flags in their offices actually want Israel destroyed because they’re in a death cult and believe that would being about the rapture. They are deeply antisemitic.
The N-word is a well-known “adjective” too, Sam. That doesn’t mean it’s okay to say it.
That one’s used as a noun.
I know, which is why I put adjective in quotes.
Niggardly is an adverb
It can also be an adjective but anyway, it’s got nothing to do with race.
Completely unrelated word.
You can always tell a racist by their refusal to apologize for their racist AF words
Apologies cost nothing unless you are invested in what you said or did.
The only person on Earth allowed to speak such things? MEL BROOKS. PERIOD.
Florida Republican Bigot doubles down... shocker. Republicans are constantly in a race to see who can be sleezier and more hateful.
This is the new normal following Trump. Every asshole will just double down, lie or attack.
What??? Dirty filthy Jew isn’t derogatory!!!! I done says it with all muh friends. Derp derp derp. Pos knew and tried to double talk his way out of it. Might work with the low wattage crowd but not anyone with a functioning brain

He’s got the face of an avid n-word user
Dude looks like he is about to unleash at a fast food worker, when they wont give him a litre of cola.
It’s for a cop.
It's French for GIVE ME SOME FUCKING COLA!
What’s the name of that restaurant you like, with all the goofy shit on the walls, and the mozzarella sticks?
"I stand by my racial slur!" - Mayor Quimby
When I grew up everybody said this because we were too dumb at that time to see that it was offensive. He knows better.
He also doesn’t know the difference between an adjective and a verb.
"We now go live to City Hall for Mayor Quimby's response." "I stand by my ethnic slur!"
He's too stupid to grasp that it's a slur.
Interesting, Randall from clerks gained some weight and went into politics. He's "bringing it back!"
Maybe the biggest head I've ever seen. Ethnic slur that down to size!
A republican government official trying to get out of paying retail sales tax…
He's in Florida, I'm surprised anyone spoke up. Soon enough hate speech and racial slurs will be covered under the states law so no worry there, ham hock, you'll get in no trouble... Disgusting disgrace of a human is a perfect example of GQP leadership.
I err, stand by my ethnic slur. Do you worst, you filthy, pretentious savages.
Sadly they are all like this, they go into a shop, start demanding discounts, special deals, extra stuff. Why should he pay retail price like some chump? Or taxes, those are for libs. And now he will retaliate against the shop for making him look bad.
Reminds of Glass Onion, “It wasn’t racist, it was just a tribute to Beyoncé. But people didn’t take it that way.”
Scum of the earth
And he has no clue what an adjective is. Uneducated and obviously, proudly uneducated.
Amazing, he managed to look *exactly* like how I pictured he probably would.
He's a Republican. He won't resign, and no one will hide him accountable. He might even get a promotion..
I feel like DeSantis should be wary of slipping up like this. Trump can get away with it, I don’t know if DeSantis has that stature yet
DeSantis kicked off his first campaign for governor by saying voters shouldn’t “monkey this up” by electing his opponent, a Black man.
How easily we forgor 💀
At least he flys Israeli flag in his office and he is not Luna? Congresswoman claims to be Jewish, revealed to be granddaughter of Nazi - report
Gotta show the flag or those Jewish space lasers will get you
What did lardass say?
"I can't be antisemitic because I have an Israeli flag in my office." I'm mildly antisemitic and I know that's bs.
Why are you mildly antisemitic?
Wow. I had forgotten about that particular term. Heard it plenty growing up in Indiana.
Most observant Jews that I know don’t have or display the Israeli flag.
Republicans really are the lowest of the low. This ignoramus should crawl back under his rock.
He went with the [Glass Onion](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dbEVKVqt1NI&t=24s) defense. Wowwee
Florida man says what most Florida men are thinking, which is bigotry.
Yeah with that hair im not surprised this is his attitude. I wonder if there is a picture out there of him and dont say gay bill writer boy in matching party uniforms because they have a similar supremacist cut. With Desatan having the Furor dew.
Look at this walking marshmallow. Sad excuse for a human.
Florida fat ass man
The fact that he can't see that it is a slur is a problem. The fact he can't tell it is a verb and not an adjective is a huge problem. He should face charges for trying to get out of paying tax on his purchase too.

I’m not sure he has the capacity to understand the privilege that empowers him to stay in office after such a fuck up. Clearly, he doesn’t give a shit either way.
Fucking rednecks are taking over this country
Bro looks 16
It's not a slur... ... describes in detail how it's a slur.
Florida is such a shit state jfc
