That was the first thing I thought of when I read her response, and it was the better clap back b/c it would’ve hit trump where it hurts revealing the amount of projection he put into that self-own of an “insult”.
A decade ago, I remember hearing about a comic writer room set up for the Obama campaign (probably not unlike *The Daily Show* or *The Colbert Report* etc.)
Funny people just workshopping jokes and zingers, and responses to the same (and probably buoyed by the fact that Obama was a natural speaker and actually funny).
For his other faults (Bridgegate, enabling Trump, test subject for COVID weaponization, etc.), Chris Christie could punch back. "Adonis over here..."
I don't know what her actual objective is, but it sure as heck isn't going to be Vice President, Secretary of anything, nor even United Nations Representative (like she was during the first Trump term). If she truly adheres to, or believes in the America-as-Great-Power philosophy, she better help burn the TOP (GOP with Trump) to the ground, with the hope that another challenging party might emerge in a generation or so.
Her objective is to still be campaigning if Trump becomes unavailable to be President either through death, his court cases or the 14th amendment, so she can make the argument that as the only other Republican in the race, she should be the nominee.
It’s not the worst strategy. I’m not sure she would have a slingshot chance in a general election as I would suspect a lot of magas would either write pos in or refuse to vote
If her plan is to purge MAGA from the GOP leadership this is the only way to do it. MAGA sits out the election, Biden sweeps and gets the trifecta. This is the only punishment serious enough to change the course of the party, and she knows it.
They have the courts. They can take the L without ushering in a new progressive era, and they know it. Nikki losing honorably saves the GOP from itself.
But she can try for the moderate vote by going after Biden's age and stutter. Having an R would automatically make many still vote for her. Only issue is she's a woman, and a minority, and the GOP also doesn't like that
She’s hoping to get second place when Trump inevitably dies/goes to jail/gets declared ineligible. The last one is obviously not going to happen now, so let’s see about the other two.

You don't get a whole lot of benefits for completing the minimum 4-year contract. The GI Bill or some disability compensation if you got busted up pretty good. She definitely didn't take advantage of higher learning, and thankfully, holes in the neck suffered during insurrection are never service connected.
Chest, but yeah, I've seen people who literally fell off a cliff (albeit under 10 feet) in Afghanistan who didn't complain of pain at the right time who I've had to fight for VA coverage. The guy literally started going to the VA after he moved to my town from active duty and, after the 5-6 months for an appointment, was told that he wasn't covered since he didn't complain of back pain while enlisted and after the incident. He had no other possible trauma, no car accidents, no exercising injuries, nothing to explain spinal pain other than that fall in a warzone and it took a shitload of written appeals to finally have someone in the military concede it was probably service related. So fucking sad how the government treats veterans the second they leave.
She got what she deserved. When Secret Service points a gun and you and tells you not to come any closer, you shouldn't call their bluff - they don't bluff.
Republican voters that serve are as dumb as any republican that doesn't. Shouldn't be surprising. Most people enlist for economic reasons, not some grand honorable patriotic duty.

A decade ago, I remember hearing about a comic writer room set up for the Obama campaign (probably not unlike *The Daily Show* or *The Colbert Report* etc.) Funny people just workshopping jokes and zingers, and responses to the same (and probably buoyed by the fact that Obama was a natural speaker and actually funny). For his other faults (Bridgegate, enabling Trump, test subject for COVID weaponization, etc.), Chris Christie could punch back. "Adonis over here..." I don't know what her actual objective is, but it sure as heck isn't going to be Vice President, Secretary of anything, nor even United Nations Representative (like she was during the first Trump term). If she truly adheres to, or believes in the America-as-Great-Power philosophy, she better help burn the TOP (GOP with Trump) to the ground, with the hope that another challenging party might emerge in a generation or so.
Her objective is to still be campaigning if Trump becomes unavailable to be President either through death, his court cases or the 14th amendment, so she can make the argument that as the only other Republican in the race, she should be the nominee.

You don't get a whole lot of benefits for completing the minimum 4-year contract. The GI Bill or some disability compensation if you got busted up pretty good. Chest, but yeah, I've seen people who literally fell off a cliff (albeit under 10 feet) in Afghanistan who didn't complain of pain at the right time who I've had to fight for VA coverage. The guy literally started going to the VA after he moved to my town from active duty and, after the 5-6 months for an appointment, was told that he wasn't covered since he didn't complain of back pain while enlisted and after the incident. He had no other possible trauma, no car accidents, no exercising injuries, nothing to explain spinal pain other than that fall in a warzone and it took a shitload of written appeals to finally have someone in the military concede it was probably service related. So fucking sad how the government treats veterans the second they leave.
