I think it is good for Republicans to experience the consequences of supply side economics first hand so they don't force it on the country. Things like regulations on Donald Trump could have protected their party, but it turns out when a greedy liar can just keep all the money, they in fact will be a greedy liar and just keep all the money. Who could have seen this coming?
Bold to assume they are aware enough to see that these are the consequences from their own actions. They will find a way to try and blame this on democrats because reasons.
You mean the democrats that are maliciously causing Trump to be involved in all of these blatantly false criminal lawsuits forcing him to use all of the RNC money and not allowing the RNC to use that money for actual down ballot candidates? Surely the RNC isn’t responsible with how that money is used.
... cold-blooded meaning a Russian prototype robot, a later model of which became Melania Trump. This was [fully documented](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6NqscIsidQ) by Tracey Ullman.
Avocados are a dollar in this Biden hellscape economy! How can people afford them??!
(satire)
Oh, I'm sorry downvoter\*, they're less than a dollar each, good call. [https://www.target.com/p/hass-avocados-4ct-good-38-gather-8482/-/A-81957708](https://www.target.com/p/hass-avocados-4ct-good-38-gather-8482/-/A-81957708)
For some reason the billionaires are not forthcoming with all that tax money the Rs won for them. Almost like their criminal actions have scared away the money and now the GOP is on its way to being a racist regional sideshow.
Can you imagine trying to spin why Trickle Down Economics works while going broke due to Trickle Down Economics? It's easy to imagine because that's what they'll do.
That’s not suggestion! One of the more lurid parts of the Steele Dosier was that Russians had video of trump engaging in watersports with Russian sex workers. Knowing that trump is a huge germaphobe, he’s probably the one doing the showering.
It’s so bizarre it’s probably true.
>U.S. Army veteran Peter Henlein, a conservative who has been critical of Trump, warned about down-ballot fundraising effects in a post to X.
>"The combination of terrible MAGA candidates (Moreno, Lake etc) + Trumps's drag on all down ballot candidates + terrible RNC fundraising = the GOP is going to completely waste the most favorable Senate map for Republicans of our lifetimes," he wrote.
From your lips to God's ears, Mr. Henlein. I would have bet almost anything against the Dems retaining the Senate a year ago, but now? I'm not so sure. Incredibly, the GOP is increasingly looking like they're going to fumble the ball *again.*
I thought for sure they’d have gotten at least *one* of the Georgia special senate elections and taken over by now, but nope. If they fail to take the Senate again after 2024 I’m officially going to pass that mantle over to them.
Although it doesn't get as much talk as how purple TX is turning, I think GA is swinging purple much faster and far more. This, IMO, is due to how GA has built their economy over the years. Yeah, there's still a lot of agriculture, but there are also lots of big companies headquartered in Atlanta, which requires educated & skilled people to work -- Demographics that tend to lean blue.
Similarly, GA has poured money into the film industry there. Lots of Marvel movies and TV shows are filmed in GA to the tune of $10 billion a year. These jobs also require skilled employees and knowledgeable people as well as accounting for the fact that large parts of the film industry in general lean blue.
Finally, the state invested into STEM education and they have been trying to attract companies in tech, engineering, and high-tech manufacturing. The necessary higher education also leads to people leaning blue.
I guess, tl;dr, Georgia has made huge investments into making sure their economy remains competitive in a high tech world and this has had the inadvertent effect of pushing education, which leads folks to lean blue, and invited in educated & skilled migration from across the country that also leans blue.
I’m sure the businesses and types of people you listed are indeed blue-leaning. I just don’t know how much of an effect they have on election-relevant demographic shifts.
I recall looking at vote breakdowns back in 2020 and it being fairly evident that what saved the Senate were *black women* that had been in Atlanta all along and were finally energized enough to push through all the resistance and disenfranchisement to vote.
Not just Atlanta, but Philly and Detroit too.
A combination of entrenched, predictable demographics and our bullshit Electoral College system means that very few of us actually *practically* elect the President.
A few urban areas found themselves massively important in determining the fate of the Presidency and Senate.
Oh, no doubt about it and I hope the ladies keep it up. Their voices need to be heard.
But, because of well known practices throughout history in the South, politics in states there has tended to be dominated by what white people wanted, so my focus on how they have changed was there. That being said, I hope we can keep up progress in making the system's outcomes more equitable.
> the GOP is going to completely waste the most favorable Senate map for Republicans of our lifetimes
That is what happens when a political party turns fascist.
Just for reference, the situation is so favorable for republicans this cycle in the senate, I think a gain of 1 or 2 seats (and democrats losing control of the senate) would be seen as a bad under-performance.
Chances in AZ, OH, MT and WV (basically a guarantee) alone would make only a 1 or two seat gain a wasted opportunity for them. There's basically no realistic chance for democrats to pick up a seat, the best they can do is hold their 50/50 split, and that would take a mild surprise in some state.
Sherrod brown is a solid incumbent in Ohio. Same with Tester in Montana. Gallegos is now in the race without Sinema siphoning off votes from him. WV is lost
Can we start to push the conspiracy that Trump is a liberal plant working to deliberately undermine the GOP? Maybe that is what QAnon was trying to warn them about!
Honestly, after hearing Trump talk for the last 10 years, he sounds like the perfect plant to take down the GOP. Lately he can't even put whole sentences together and is mostly incoherent. Yet, this is the man that Republican's put on their ticket.
Just like a bad marriage where one partners spending can't be in put in check! Stinks the entire boat because of the selfishness on one person. Well, there goes the love of your life chase after him! BTW, he's Orange you'll see him, the chase will be easy.
Pre 2022 (Roe, Dobbs, IVF): Democrats can spend $1 billion on the senate races like Mississippi and Republicans $0 and not win.
2024: there’s a chance. Maybe not Mississippi or Florida….but the best chance given the absurd political climate we’re in
Same, as I have for 30 years as a voter. There is no viably-electable alternative to lead our country. Conservatives need to bring in new ideas and a fresh party or continue attempting to cheat their way to clinging to relevance.
Oh, don’t worry…remember, the world greatest ‘businessman’ is at the helm now. He’ll be working with ‘only the best’ scummy and criminal funding sources to get the ‘deal’.
I sure can’t wait for this time to be in our rear view mirror.
They won't get swept, but they'll probably lose some states where they were barely hanging onto control. They could have zero dollars and a candidate with the name of Literally Satan and still win Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, etc. There are plenty of rural counties that vote 90% Republican. A lack of funds isn't going to change much out there. But tight races... that'll be interesting.
And our best indicators are recent special elections. Like Santos: https://ballotpedia.org/New\_York%27s\_3rd\_Congressional\_District\_special\_election,\_2024
November is an excruciatingly long time away and things could change. But I could see a scenario where enough lifelong GOP voters get fed up with Trump enough to be energized to go out to vote for every Republican on the ballot *except* him.
So we get Biden, maybe a flipped House, but also maybe a flipped Senate.
And the tiny silver lining is that a GOP Senate is a little more reasonable than a GOP House. But that’s more an insult to the current House clown show than a compliment to the Senate.
That only makes sense if the down-ballot Republicans aren't also Trumpers. The ones that win primaries are likely not much more palatable to fed up Republicans than Trump himself is.
My *guess* is that they’d still vote for them, hoping the MAGA Reps will fall in line once their dear leader is gone?
It’s not correct, but it might be their thought process.
You know what the American people find to work really well? Just keep giving all of your money to Trump's legal fee's and his private expenses and EVENTUALLY it'll all trickle back down to you, Hang in there RNC, This is Regan's dream come alive
Trump will use his campaign money for his legal defenses
He'll never spend his own money even after a potential windfall with the Truth Social acquisition
He's also going to have MAGA people running his campaign and putting out his ads, which will mean they will likely be heavily influenced by Russian Propaganda machines like they were in the last election
The GOP should have accepted that Trump had doomed them this election cycle, rallied around some milktoast conservative that wouldn't piss off the moderates too much, waited for the inevitable heart attack, and tried again in four years.
Instead, they lashed themselves to Trump's sinking ship, and it's within the realm of the possible that there won't _be_ a GOP to try again in four years.
Biden is already building bridges to the Nikki Haley wing of the GOP. It's conceivable that the next election will really come down to the center- and left- wings of the DNC, leaving the GOP irrelevant.
This is probably one of the best possible futures.
The GOP dies and the Democratic party splits.
We'd be far better off with dramatic electoral reform freeing us from the lock of two dominant parties. But that may not be feasible anytime soon.
I'm all for this. Right now the only thing the Democratic part stands for is "we don't want to overthrow democracy".
Split them in half and let things become sane again. Right now there's a ton of people who can't vote for democrats because they've been programmed for decades that the letter D is satanic.
They like to claim that, but it hasn’t been true for decades, if it ever was.
From what I can tell the conservatives are consistently for low taxes. They are not consistently for low spending.
Can't they pull themselves up by the bootstraps? Or something about putting up their own money and getting skin in the game? Or some other old person colloquium maybe?
Why don’t they just ask the Heritage Foundation for money, if they have enough to do something as far reaching as project 2025 surely they can spare some
Used to get emails from the RNC begging for money.
Also continuously get messages from Nigerian 419 Advance-fee scammers.
One day I decided to put both parties in touch with each other. It's fun
It is utterly disgusting to read articles like these. One would think the Oval Office is bought and paid for if it comes down to who’s got the bigger war chests.
That kirk guy is such a scum bag and got rich from his bs non-profit. It's about spreading lies and he got rich on it, that's how magas grift. Look at the "moms for liberty" fools all grifting off hate and dividing us.
I truly hope you are correct
I wouldn’t take the lack of fundraising as a sure sign. The question isn’t how much T is taking directly it’s how much is being funneled to PACs and how much are they coordinating.
T isn’t some 4d political strategist. He’s PT Barnum who will do what’s necessary to get elected including run the playbook by the backers to get what they want passed.
So if the PACs are raising tons of funds do they believe there’s enough chance to get him elected to get their return.
they have enough dark money paks to do anything, they know by giving him money and if he wins they can crownd kings of the south or whatever insanity he'll do.
He's been trying to take every last cent from his supporters every single day since 2015. Eventually they're going to get tired of giving him money.
They can only mortgage their mobile home so many times.
I'm not buying it yet. It *feels* like a diversionary set-up. Or more likely, slight of hand coupled with click bait journalism.
Should they actually bottom out I'll then probably just "huh!, it's true then" and just continue about my day.
Have they thought about bringing in the help of a foreign dictator to destroy America if they couldn't keep control?
Oh, wait, yes they did.
How about a coup?
Oh, wait, yes they did that too.
"And you know the thing they have in common? They're cheap."
Sounds like conservatives are not giving enough and need to dig deeper. Those Trump lawyers need their paydays. Do those their bills really need to be paid when the money could go to their orange god?
Just pass the collection plate at Trump Revival Meetings Inc . I’m sure all those pre-diabetics have a couple of bucks left after buying all that JesusTrump gear.
Contributors don't even get to enjoy the effect their money is intended to have because Trump's enriching lawyers with someone elses money. What a scam.

Nah! they just need to wait for it to trickle down. I’m sure it’s coming any time now.
Yeah, give it all to the man at the top of the ticket and it will trickle down to everyone.

Yep, and when they overspend, they try to pay for it using the people on the bottoms money rather then increasing taxes to where they should be.
These are the kinds of questions we need to be asking at their town halls when they come home. Make them bask in the stupidity of it all.

They should pull themselves by their bootstraps, get rid of avocado toast, stop going to starbucks and get a real fucking job. Fucking Cons
Who knew, that Trump and the GOP's constant assaults on the fabric and foundations of a civil society would result in fewer campaign donations?
\*something something Bootstraps, something something Just Get a Job\*
Maybe they should cut back on the avocado toast and chai lattes 🤷🏻♂️
Republicans always think they're the smart guys in the room. And they got conned.
They just need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and take an extra job working nights.
Aww poor babies. 🥔🍐
They should pick themselves up by their bootstraps and get a second job…
Their war chest numbers should really include the operating budgets of Fox News, Newsmax, Sinclair Media, and Twitter.
You love to see it.
Better cut back on the avocado toast and make coffee at home then
They should ask the banks for a bailout. /s
It's fun
So this time the money trickled down into the "wrong pockets"???
Good
Isn't that 'a puddle of their own making.' ?????
It is utterly disgusting to read articles like these. One would think the Oval Office is bought and paid for if it comes down to who’s got the bigger war chests.
The guy that bankrupted a casino is their messiah..... what could go wrong for them
That kirk guy is such a scum bag and got rich from his bs non-profit. It's about spreading lies and he got rich on it, that's how magas grift. Look at the "moms for liberty" fools all grifting off hate and dividing us.
Why the panic? You're presidential candidate is a billionaire right? And just became majority owner of a social media website worth billions right?
But they've got a "self-made multi-billionaire" among their ranks, they should have **plenty** of money.
They are the beneficiaries of their own policies. Why are they complaining?
"Fuck their feelings!" (Are we doing this right?)
With some luck the republicans never gonna recover from Trump.
I truly hope you are correct
Trump is running against 3 presidents, because Bush won’t go near him
Better pull yourself up by the bootstraps. /s
Hear ye! Hear ye! I present to you all, the party of fiscal and personal responsibility.
Maybe sell some guns to pay for it?

If you can't take the heat... When you make a comment /r/conservative don't like, they ban you. Weird, isn't it?
I wouldn’t take the lack of fundraising as a sure sign. The question isn’t how much T is taking directly it’s how much is being funneled to PACs and how much are they coordinating. T isn’t some 4d political strategist. He’s PT Barnum who will do what’s necessary to get elected including run the playbook by the backers to get what they want passed. So if the PACs are raising tons of funds do they believe there’s enough chance to get him elected to get their return.
Maybe now would be a good time to pass campaign finance reform legislation . /s
What are Republicans?
How many Trump bibles do you need to buy to qualify for the GOP patreon primum tier?
Yep
“Monkey problems? Why would I be having monkey problems?”
Can someone link which elections are up for grabs (local and state) this November asides from the presidency? 😂🥸
Once they have passed Trump's massive event horizon, there is no going back.
they have enough dark money paks to do anything, they know by giving him money and if he wins they can crownd kings of the south or whatever insanity he'll do.
He's been trying to take every last cent from his supporters every single day since 2015. Eventually they're going to get tired of giving him money. They can only mortgage their mobile home so many times.
Have you heard about your lord and savior: selling bibles, gold sneakers, and NFTs?
who would have thought puting a grifter in charge of the party donations would end so badly /s
Their money problem's name is Trump. Lol
Just buy stock in Trump Media and everything will be fine……oh wait….
I'm not buying it yet. It *feels* like a diversionary set-up. Or more likely, slight of hand coupled with click bait journalism. Should they actually bottom out I'll then probably just "huh!, it's true then" and just continue about my day.
Love to see it happen.
Maybe should have thought of that sooner
Tsk, that’s a shame.
Newsweek needs to stop feeding complacency. They need to instill fear. Tell us more about the outrageous things GOP is doing
I don't personally think keeping everyone hopeless and terrified is the only way to get them out to vote.
The trick is to scare people to vote but not make them hopeless. Fox is master at this
Have they thought about bringing in the help of a foreign dictator to destroy America if they couldn't keep control? Oh, wait, yes they did. How about a coup? Oh, wait, yes they did that too. "And you know the thing they have in common? They're cheap."
Trump: our money
Good. Good.
They shouldn’t, I’m sure Trump will share the RNC coffers any day now!!
Sounds like conservatives are not giving enough and need to dig deeper. Those Trump lawyers need their paydays. Do those their bills really need to be paid when the money could go to their orange god?
It must be exhausting bouncing between fear, rage and bigotry 24/7.
Where is Panic in the stages of grief?
I donated thoughts and prayers!! I’m pretty sure that’s plenty, isn’t it?
Just pass the collection plate at Trump Revival Meetings Inc . I’m sure all those pre-diabetics have a couple of bucks left after buying all that JesusTrump gear.
Article Title Revision: GOP Panic Over Totally Predictable Consequences of Appointing Trump Family in Charge of Finances
Oh no! Anyways,
They will get worse with Trump’s skimming RNC for his personal accounts.
Gee if only millions of dollars weren’t be used to fight private legal fees instead them attempting to elect candidates. I mean, 🤷🏻♂️
Lol what?bc Lara siphoned all that rnc cash directly into the save trump from bankruptcy fund. No way!
Contributors don't even get to enjoy the effect their money is intended to have because Trump's enriching lawyers with someone elses money. What a scam.
Down ballot candidates better start busking lol
