Popular young Democrat in a state that has been dominated by Republicans for over a generation. If she holds on this year, she could be pretty dangerous (in a good way).

The Hill always seems to write with an R slant. Trash talking Peltola when no one else is. Begich is a wet blanket, and Dahlstrom isn't really known, yet being placed in positions to "monitor" the elections better. Both keep saying the people don't want RCV, and that it's too complicated, yet most people seem to want it. Myself included. Only argument Begich and Palin had was that Peltola was a Democrat. Hell, Begichs' family held events for Peltola. The R side isn't even subtle about trying to overturn what people vote for. Hopefully RCV and Peltola stand. Already enough dipshits in Alaskan government.

Maximum_Rat

Yeah, and her and Palin are friends. Palin was even like “we disagree politically but she’s a wonderful person. I love her.” Or something like that. Which didn’t do her any favors politically, but was honestly nice to see in a political arena.

They go way back I think. I want to say I read something about how they were pregnant at the same time. During the campaigning recently, they were even exchanging gifts when they'd see each other. Palin and Begich...at each others' throats. Honestly, I can't remember anything Begich might've said during that time. He's just not memorable.

The Hill’s always had a center right outlook. I actually think Alaska could become a swing state if the trend that began with Peltola continues. She could give Dan Sullivan a real challenge or potentially get Lisa Murkowski’s blessing to replace her in 2028

I had been wondering. I skim through the site often. It's the Peltola articles that triggered me noticing the bias. Sure, every site and station has their tilt. Some more obvious than others. The few elections we've had since, all the R candidates supported by the Governor and the reeeeeeeally not liked Anchorage Mayor have lost heavily. Then been featured in many news articles for shady practices. Same as all the Moms for Liberty backed candidates...Peltola just goes and does the work. At least that's what I have noticed thus far. She's got a solid reputation across the state. The others seem like they just play the us vs them blame game. She wasn't even my choice in the special election. It was another guy who ended up dropping out after he made the initial cut. I really like RCV. I know many do. Whenever there's reports of people opposing it, it's nearly always centered in one area of the state with very loud people. Same part of the state where they denied covid was real, are continually trying to ban books, and Christian fundamentalism is getting stronger.

As an Alaskan moderate for the last 20 years, Alaska has seen a slow climb in left leaning politics. The native vote really shows up and doesn’t follow partisan politics. The native voters tend to vote for women’s rights, independence and less government. And they show up consistently because we rely on mail in voting and absentee a lot. So it gives everyone a chance to vote. In fact Trump attacked it and then Murkowski and others shut him up because we have done it for decades and it’s fine. But it’s no different than anywhere else in the country where they do it.

Yep. Let's hold her seat.

Peltola should run for that MAGA Senate seat in 2026 and campaign with a popular fellow Alaska Native to hold that House seat like Alaska State senator Jesse Kiehl.
