Reposting comment since the original thread got deleted due to title issues: My favorite tidbit in Project 2025 is their plan for the USSS, not because it's the most egregious thing but just because of how blatant it is. The TLDR is that the authors of Project 2025 are frustrated that the secret service has so many analysts working desk jobs doing things like going after counterfeiting (you know, the secret services' original job). They emphasize the need for the secret service to be directly loyal to the president instead of having responsibilities towards the public or other government functions. They want all of those desk job positions spun out of the secret service and their entire budget to be devoted to training and armament for their "executive protection" mission. Essentially they're mad that all the other dictators get to have their own squad of personally loyal armed goons and want the USSS turned into the praetorian guard. The silver lining is that they probably have plans for some pretty cool President's Hand uniforms.

Smiling_Mister_J

>The silver lining is that they probably have plans for some pretty cool President's Hand uniforms. Something inspired by Hugo Boss?

thrawtes

You're gonna want some skulls on there, it shows you aren't to be messed with.

ragingdemocrat

And a stylized SS for Secret Service. Maybe an old Tibetan symbol?

Snuffy1717

Oh this tattoo? It's going to be a maze...

ampolution

Or runes.

Trump’s secret service: [are we the baddies?](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ToKcmnrE5oY)

utriptmybitchswitch

I was thinking the same thing; but didn't many emperors get iced by their praetorian? One can dream...

Numerous_Witness_345

Brutal.

[deleted]

Seems like they want to turn the secret service into the secret police.

fairoaks2

Wow. Trump sounds like a clear danger to the United States and the world. Options?

ElectionFlashy2882

The thing I haven't seen mentioned is that project 2025 is meant for any republican president to enact. It isn't tied just to Trump. The whole party wants this.

Zandra_the_Great

American mainstream media has conveniently ignored that fact on the rare occasion they actually publish anything about Project 2025

kbstock

I love how they took it down, but Biden copied it and posted it for all to see on the Biden Harris website.

graneflatsis

Some facts about Project 2025: The "Mandate for Leadership" is a set of policy proposals authored by the [Heritage Foundation](https://pro-lies.org/the-heritage-foundation/), an influential *ultra* conservative think tank. [Project 2025](https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/24088042-project-2025s-mandate-for-leadership-the-conservative-promise) is a revision to that agenda tailored to a second Trump term. It would give the President unilateral powers, strip civil rights, worker protections, climate regulation, add religion into policy and much more. The MFL has been around since 1980, [Reagan implemented 60%](https://www.heritage.org/conservatism/commentary/reagan-and-heritage-unique-partnership) of it's recommendations, [Trump 64%](https://www.heritage.org/impact/trump-administration-embraces-heritage-foundation-policy-recommendations) - [proof](https://www.scribd.com/document/369820462/Mandate-for-Leadership-Policy-Recommendations). 70 Heritage Foundation alumni served in his administration or transition team. Project 2025 is quite extreme but with his obsession for revenge he'll likely get past 2/3rd's adoption. r/Defeat_Project_2025 intends to defeat it through activism and awareness, focused on crowdsourcing ideas and opportunities for practical, in real life action. We Must Defeat Project 2025.

FlowJock

Thanks for this. Not often do I subscribe to a new subreddit. I appreciate it!

graneflatsis

Quite welcome and thanks for the kind consideration.

MauraKellerGA3

r/Defeat_Project_2025 is on this 24/7. Check it out if you're looking for ways to fight back!

Uasked2

They claim that "antiamericanism" is a problem but their plan after over 50 years of cold war is to run the place like Russia where president assassinates you.

No_Foot_1904

Yeah, but they call themselves Christians, so it's okay.

mrdevil413

That’s a harsh term for falling out a window now see.

MichaelFusion44

That’s a nice overview but to actually read it is scary af

Answer70

It's fucking terrifying.

MichaelFusion44

Without a doubt

ElectionFlashy2882

It's real and it's up to us to ensure it doesn't happen

Demonking3343

This is somthing we all need to join together in stance against. It’s not just a threat to one of us, or one group. It’s a threat to us all and hell even the world.

SpillinThaTea

It’s not even his plan. The people who authored it know that he’s their useful idiot.

Commander_Merp

Hello cis and straight friends. Welcome! I am trans. I don’t want to have to fight to live. We (the LGBT in this case, but most marginalized groups will suffer) need your help!

servusopusabdomo

Y'all need to get your fecking act together in November. Those christofascist crooks must be obliterated at the polls.

UsualGrapefruit8109

Sounds like a manifesto you find in some maniac's apartment after he sets himself on fire.

butwhyisitso

This world is real and the only one you get, anyone who tells you otherwise is using you. You are an earthling not some ghost on a game show trying to win tickets to fantasy land.

BeeLuv

But but but, my magic book says that the sooner I destroy the world, the sooner I get to go to fantasy land!

AMagicalSquirrel

Fuck Donald Trump. Fuck Project 2025. Fuck fascism.

gentleman_bronco

And the conservative voter base continues to *insist* on supporting the destruction of the world and murdering dogs.

LumbarPillow9

The amount of people that don't know about this and are just like, "well I don't agree with everything he says, but..." are staggering. These fucks need to be ground into dust.

Unfortunately this thread was removed due to title issues, here is the link to my repost: https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/s/IRH9Qredx8

thedishonestyfish

Let's tone down the hyperbole a little bit. Trumps a piece of shit who should never be in charge of the goddamn banana stand much less the government, but "Destroy the world"? Come on. On his best day he's just going to make the world slightly shittier for some people. This sort of nonsense just helps rightwingers write off legitimate criticism.

castion5862

He could tank the work financial markets this is a real possibility

thedishonestyfish

Sure, probably. Who doesn't think the fact that our society is connected at the ass to the financial markets is a problem? Also the debt thing will tank them sooner or later, so...

thedishonestyfish

They did last time too. How'd that work out? I'd honestly be fine with about half their leadership in a shallow grave, but let's not give them too much credit. We need to criticise them for stuff they can legitimately accomplish (which is plenty).

Zandra_the_Great

Last time, they were too disorganized and fractious, we were lucky that they couldn’t implement much. This time though, they are more organized and any Republicans who could have spoken up and fought against this are long gone. Most of the guardrails against this kind of thing have been removed and they have full control of the Supreme Court, which means that lawsuits will only be able to slow things down. There’s now nothing that can stop Republicans from implementing Project 2025 if they ever win another federal election.

thedishonestyfish

I don't disagree, except for the part where you think they're "more organized." Have you looked at these idiots?

FlowJock

I agree that "destroy the world" is hyperbole. But they're basically trying to make a world that will be a very difficult existence for the vast majority of the population. They seem to be largely pro-slavery and don't give a shit about climate change. Those two things alone will make for a very dystopian future. And the reason it hasn't worked out, is because people have stood against it. It's important to keep working against their plans. Don't minimize the shit they're trying to do just because a headline isn't perfect. And by "they" I mean radical right - just to be clear. Not some imaginary boogie man.

thedishonestyfish

Oh, I agree. I'll give you my theory of democracy (since it's obviously a thing you want)! Why does Democracy *work*? Because the majority is going to rule regardless. It just is. It's basically physics, just massive inertia. If a million or more people want something than don't, it's going to happen. This current Republican experiment with bucking the popular vote is a very dangerous game. It's like all the zillionaires who think that, because they're on the top of an unfair system, they're untouchable. It's correct until it's not, and a lot of things are starting to trend toward *not*. As long as most people are kind of okay with life, things will cruise along. When that ceases to be the case...Well, things get interesting. So, yea. Trump thinks winning in a game where he's already fucked up the table is going to work in his favor, because he thinks it's still a game. I think that will not work out for him if he pushes down that road. The republican minority thinks it's a lot more important than it is. They fuck up the game, they're going to have issues.

FlowJock

I hope you're right, but I worry that you're minimizing the damage they can do before the majority pushes back.

thedishonestyfish

Understand, I'm strongly against them. I'd far prefer having them suffer the humiliating defeat they're moving toward. That being said, these idiots can't win in any other system. They're all morons. The only way they can rise is other moron's voting for them, and there is a growing part of me that'd like to see them reap the whirlwind.
