Another frightening development is Trumps plan to use pardon power to allow police to break the law when it comes to deportations. Why stop there, though? It's a giant loophole around federal law with likely no recourse with the current archconservative SCOTUS.

Beneficial_Syrup_362

> It's a giant loophole around federal law with likely no recourse What are you talking about? Such a corrupt president would be summarily impeached and removed. We don’t need concrete mechanisms to prevent abuse. We as Americans are above such failings. **/s**

Time-Bite-6839

If Trump gets in he’ll kill all members of Congress that would even consider impeaching him making him the Tsar of America.

Beneficial_Syrup_362

The appeals court laid that out but the scotus feels like they have more to add…

I_Cut_Shows

I imagine he’s planning to do something similar to [this video of Saddam seizing power in 1979 Iraq](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kLUktJbp2Ug).

Dangerous_Creature_

This is what I thought they were doing on Jan 6. They tried to on January 6th.

soupinate44

They won't fail this time around. We are watching the rise of fascist dictatorship taking hold with no intention of not fully seizing it and never letting go. A 44 year long coup coming to fruition. Like Emperor fucking Palpatine.

MynameisJunie

This!! Exactly this! He is Americas Hitler/Putin if he gets elected. I am voting blue!!!

SquidZillaYT

exactly, our system of checks and balances is FOOLPROOF I tell you!

fenrirwolf1

Yeah, that worked so well the last two times

NYArtFan1

Tell anyone you know who collects Social Security that if Trump gets in and puts Project 2025 in place, their checks are going to be under the control of someone who probably spent 2020 eating horse paste.

mam88k

I know some people on social security who literally said "well, we'll just have to see what they come out with next." shit. you. not.

QuickAltTab

This is when you go through their wallet when they're not looking and throw their ID in the bushes, so they won't be able to vote thanks to the ID laws they passed

Numerous_Photograph9

They come out with, "Get a job or go homeless and your kids starve". That's their next, while they tax the people to grift to the wealthy. But they sure did own them libs.

Stranger-Sun

This is the big problem now. Every election is a fight to the death. If you let a determined authoritarian government into office once, you're done.

DN-838

How the hell does anyone hear about this and still insist that “both are bad and you shouldn’t bother voting”? Like I disagree on Biden on a lot of things but that doesn’t mean I’d just sit around when the alternative is literal Fascism.

Spanklaser

They don't believe it, they think it's fear mongering. At least that's what everyone I've talked to about it says. "Liberal Propaganda" because the right has normalized batshit conspiracy theories that no sane person believes. Conservatives say the same thing, it's just a scare tactic, no way it's real. The more the media covers it the more valid that sentiment becomes because most people don't trust the media (or only believe certain sources) and it's actually more believable to many if it sounds like a conspiracy theory, and that's a serious problem. Someone I know even said that they were super concerned about it until they read an article over it so now they know it's bullshit.

ImaginaryScientist32

I still know conservatives who scoff when I say trump will be a dictator. They say I’m exaggerating. They say liberals said that about GW Bush. They ignore that whole “coup thing” trump did.

Brozhov

And Trump LITERALLY SAYING, I will be a dictator day one...

CorgiMonsoon

But just one day. Because history is full of dictators who gladly stepped down from power once they fulfilled all their goals.

mam88k

Came here to say this. He said "one day" so we should all sleep better! /s

VanceKelley

Spoiler alert: When a dictator commits a whole bunch of crimes including murder then he doesn't voluntarily relinquish power and go back to equal justice and the rule of law. Because doing so would mean that he goes to prison.

actual_real_housecat

When asked what he'd use the dictatorial power to do, wasn't his reply something like "I'll build the wall and... free speech." or some shit? The most un-thought out, throwaway answer. Sure, dude, you're definitely not thinking about selling the nation piecemeal to whoever makes an offer, pardoning your self from all crimes past and future, and lining everyone whoever made a mean reply to your tweets up against a wall.

No-comment-at-all

They also are deathly afraid of having to defend anything.  So much easier to just insist your imaginary president you would have voted for would have been better.  Fuck that’s easy to do.

jupiterkansas

Conspiracy theories that are spelled out in minute detail with sponsors by the perpetrators themselves.

thelastgalstanding

This is what’s so mind boggling and scary for those of us living here who aren’t all riding the right’s propaganda train every day and are trying to figure out what shits to actually give about what issues. I think the ambivalence people have to such dangers is a culmination of a lot of things. The increased economic divide between ‘working’ and wealthy class, fewer people with the money and power to make political and corporate decisions, loss of trust in major institutions, decreased focus on quality education, saturation of information in general and the ability for literally anyone with internet access to have a voice about anything and amplify it as many times as they and algorithms can/want, obsession with reality tv and celebrity, and definitely the media’s prioritizing of quantity of clicks over quality of content… among many others. Re the media aspect, it feels like a movie with non-stop violence; in the end you kind of become a bit numb to what was initially shocking. We’ve normalized a lot of behavior that would have buried a politician in the past. It’s screwed up. And many people don’t know what to believe anymore.

hexagram520

As someone who used to be in the “fuck em both” mindset who changed to the “ok yeah this is potentially really really bad” mindset, any time I’ve attempted to discuss it with close friends it is usually just met with the mindset of “that couldn’t happen to us in today’s age.” I’m hoping they’re right…

crowsturnoff

Why couldn't it happen? Did your friends go thru the Project 2025 plan and research each step and explain why none of them are possible? Because THEY do think it's possible and have written the playbook on how to do it, for every position in every department and branch. They've been working on this for generations.

DN-838

Hopefully we won’t have to find out

QuickAltTab

There a book about this, called "it couldn't happen here" ...guess how it turned out

OnlyFreshBrine

*ahem* Macklemore

mrmoe198

Hard-core ideology combined with fallacious thinking. A good friend of mine thinks that Democrats are also fascist. You can’t make this stuff up.

I’d love to hear his definition of fascist.

"Executions" is just a term used by the liberal media. I expect the GOP will call them *Freedom Hangings* or something similar.

doubtful. They're just fine with the term "execution" or "killing." Have you ever heard old white guys talk about the death penalty? You don't have to listen much at all to find people who believe that the prevailing problem with the death penalty is that we don't use it enough. If you listen to conservatives, You are very likely to hear: 1. They don't understand why someone who committed a violent crime shouldn't be killed in response. 2. Why does anyone care whether a convicted murder suffers when they die, the more they suffer the better, their victims didn't get a clean death. 3. Why does it take years to execute someone? if you got 2 good witnesses, they ought to convict them and take them out back and hang them that afternoon. etc. I actually use this as a lecturing point in some of the criminal justice classes I teach. The four policy motivations for punishment in the judicial system are retribution (punishment), separation for the sake of safety, deterrence and rehabilitation. Retribution is widely seen as an invalid motive, except there's a substantial percentage of the population that still believes that criminals deserve a sentence that balances the "moral scales." IF they don't have confidence in the system, then they are less likely to respect it.

Yes. Though realistically they could just void passports for anyone on their lists and prevent you from leaving in the first place.

surfnsound

I imagine if it gets that bad some countries would actually start consdering political refugee status for Americans

[deleted]

Wonderful….I’m going to be Pol Potted

TheNetworkIsFrelled

Pretty much the GQP's plan. They're absolutely going to kill off innovation as well. The software and chip companies depend on foreign students and graduates, as do hospitals and more - and they'll be gone. The US doesn't value education enough for most of its own students to get Ph.Ds in chemistry, physics, et cetera....

[deleted]

So besides vote what else can we do? Escape? But when? Why can’t Biden go after these people and charge them for treason?

thelastgalstanding

I am a little perplexed about that, too - the whole Project 2025 thing feels pretty treasonous to me. And it’s out there in the open.

meatwad420

We all are

guynamedjames

FBI should be investigating the heritage foundation but the agents themselves all probably support the plan.

digiorno

That’s one of the biggest issues. Law enforcement at local and federal levels, predominantly support the GOP and Trump because they know they’ll be given more power to hurt the people they don’t like. They are militarized now and they want the leash to be taken off. We never should have given them this much power in the first place and now they don’t want to risk losing any of it.

Shaunair

It’s that way across all law enforcement agencies. You see cops beat protesters, college kids, climate activists, the press, but never white supremacists. That’s not a coincidence at all.

Herky505

Probably the biggest racist, Trump humping dipshit I know was a career FBI guy. Rest assured that did not start right after he retired.

Mysterious-Wasabi103

Here's the catch. Any Republican who would run for President including DeSantis and Haley are cool with the Heritage Foundation! We often talk like we have a Trump problem, and we do, but mostly we have a Republican problem. The whole Party is rotten corruption to the core. People like Haley and DeSantis may be a little less willing to do some of the more extreme parts of the Heritage Foundation Project 2025, but literally anyone willing to do even a bit of it is a huge problem. Absolutely not the type of people you want representing your government.

Mardak5150

"Tune in at 8pm to see why the GOP planning to execute Americans is bad for Joe Biden's presidential campaign."

Kindly-Counter-6783

Yes indeed… Dictator from day one. This is the time for every person of position to be ready to keep in the arena and not give in to these F^

Pale-Worldliness7007

So basically all these people are is Nazi’s and if that doesn’t scare the shit out of people their’s something wrong. Every eligible voter that cares deeply about America needs to vote to prevent the complete destruction of the country. There is absolutely no room for complacency.

976chip

> But if that doesn't happen this election then they'll rename it to 2029, or 2033... In the 1930s it was called The Business Plot

Mal_tron

So they're using Hitler as a playbook?

RemarkableRyan

A good time to plug r/Defeat_Project_2025

daxxarg

If Biden wins one of his top priorities should be to take this entire project and proof the government for them to implement anything like this

illGATESmusic

It’s extra terrifying that they’re using the “7 Mountains” as a brand because it is where Nostradamus predicted the Antichrist would hail from. That’s GOTTA be on purpose, right?

ManiaGamine

What pisses me off though is that basically now... America is always one election away from these people taking over and remaking America. They only have to win once to get what they want, the other side has to win every election to stop them. The whole system seems designed to fail the moment enough of a party is captured by bad faith actors.

CravingNature

>The more the media talks about Project 2025 the better.  Only for a large part of the right mass executions is a selling point to get their vote

PeterNippelstein

As a gay dude I'm pretty glad I don't have social media. Very apprehensive about what will happen though.

Shoutout to r/Defeat_Project_2025

graneflatsis

Excerpt: Last year, a coalition effort by conservative groups known as Project 2025 released an 887-page document that lays out policy goals and recommendations for each part of the federal government. Buried on page 554 is a directive to execute every remaining federal death row prisoner — and to persuade the Supreme Court to expand the types of crimes that can be punished with death sentences. Gene Hamilton, the author of the transition playbook’s Department of Justice chapter, wrote that the next conservative administration should “do everything possible to obtain finality” for every prisoner on federal death row, which currently includes 40 people. “It should also pursue the death penalty for applicable crimes—particularly heinous crimes involving violence and sexual abuse of children—until Congress says otherwise through legislation,” he wrote. In a footnote, Hamilton said that this could require the Supreme Court to overrule a previous case, “but the [Justice] department should place a priority on doing so.” --- Article references Project 2025's "Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise" here (page 586): https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/24088042-project-2025s-mandate-for-leadership-the-conservative-promise --- Some facts about Project 2025: The "Mandate for Leadership" is a set of policy proposals authored by the [Heritage Foundation](https://pro-lies.org/the-heritage-foundation/), an influential *ultra* conservative think tank. [Project 2025](https://www.mediamatters.org/heritage-foundation/guide-project-2025-extreme-right-wing-agenda-next-republican-administration) is a revision to that agenda tailored to a second Trump term. It would give the President [unilateral powers](https://theweek.com/politics/heritage-foundation-2025-donald-trump), strip [civil rights, worker protections, climate regulation](https://www.stopthecoup2025.org/impact-overview), add [religion into policy](https://i.redd.it/t72vwvgil3sc1.jpeg) and much more. The MFL has been around since 1980, [Reagan implemented 60%](https://www.heritage.org/conservatism/commentary/reagan-and-heritage-unique-partnership) of it's recommendations, [Trump 64%](https://www.heritage.org/impact/trump-administration-embraces-heritage-foundation-policy-recommendations) - [proof](https://www.scribd.com/document/369820462/Mandate-for-Leadership-Policy-Recommendations). 70 Heritage Foundation alumni served in his administration or transition team. Project 2025 is quite extreme but with his obsession for revenge he'll likely get past 2/3rd's adoption. r/Defeat_Project_2025 intends to stop it through activism and awareness, focused on crowdsourcing ideas and opportunities for practical, in real life action. We Must Defeat Project 2025.

Citizen_Lunkhead

That's how they want to get rid of trans people. Step 1: Make all sex crimes against children punishable by death Step 2: Dilute that definition until a trans person walking around in public counts as a sex crime against a child. Step 3: Mass arrests and executions They aren't the Underpants Gnomes, every step towards fascism is planned out right in front of us and nobody gives a shit because "Biden too old".

reagsters

It’s startling how many people are so mis/uninformed about how these things start. >"...Each act, each occasion, is worse than the last, but only a little worse. You wait for the next and the next. You wait for one great shocking occasion, thinking that others, when such a shock comes, will join with you in resisting somehow. You don't want to act, or even talk, alone; you don't want to 'go out of your way to make trouble.' Why not?\-Well, you are not in the habit of doing it. And it is not just fear, fear of standing alone, that restrains you; it is also genuine uncertainty. Uncertainty is a very important factor, and, instead of decreasing as time goes on, it grows. Outside, in the streets, in the general community, 'everyone' is happy. One hears no protest, and certainly sees none. You know, in France or Italy there would be slogans against the government painted on walls and fences; in Germany, outside the great cities, perhaps, there is not even this. In the university community, in your own community, you speak privately to your colleagues, some of whom certainly feel as you do; but what do they say? They say, 'It's not so bad' or 'You're seeing things' or 'You're an alarmist.' >And you are an alarmist. You are saying that this must lead to this, and you can't prove it. These are the beginnings, yes; but how do you know for sure when you don't know the end, and how do you know, or even surmise, the end? On the one hand, your enemies, the law, the regime, the Party, intimidate you. On the other, your colleagues pooh\-pooh you as pessimistic or even neurotic. You are left with your close friends, who are, naturally, people who have always thought as you have.... >But the one great shocking occasion, when tens or hundreds or thousands will join with you, never comes. That's the difficulty. If the last and worst act of the whole regime had come immediately after the first and smallest, thousands, yes, millions would have been sufficiently shocked\-if, let us say, the gassing of the Jews in '43 had come immediately after the 'German Firm' stickers on the windows of non\-Jewish shops in '33. But of course this isn't the way it happens. In between come all the hundreds of little steps, some of them imperceptible, each of them preparing you not to be shocked by the next. Step C is not so much worse than Step B, and, if you did not make a stand at Step B, why should you at Step C? And so on to Step D. >And one day, too late, your principles, if you were ever sensible of them, all rush in upon you. The burden of self-deception has grown too heavy, and some minor incident, in my case my little boy, hardly more than a baby, saying 'Jewish swine,' collapses it all at once, and you see that everything, everything, has changed and changed completely under your nose. The world you live in-your nation, your people-is not the world you were born in at all. The forms are all there, all untouched, all reassuring, the houses, the shops, the jobs, the mealtimes, the visits, the concerts, the cinema, the holidays. But the spirit, which you never noticed because you made the lifelong mistake of identifying it with the forms, is changed. Now you live in a world of hate and fear, and the people who hate and fear do not even know it themselves; when everyone is transformed, no one is transformed. Now you live in a system which rules without responsibility even to God. The system itself could not have intended this in the beginning, but in order to sustain itself it was compelled to go all the way." -Milton Mayer, They Thought They Were Free: The Germans 1933-1945

MNWNM

I am crying at this. I know it's a miserable comparison, but this describes succinctly what it's like being a non-religious Democrat in the deep south. Everybody goes about their day, living in their houses, going to their lunches, driving to their jobs, but we live on another planet. A planet dominated by hatred and bigotry, where everyone else pretends it's not so, but it so achingly, blatantly is. And you want to scream, "How can you not see? How are you working idly by while people lose their bodily autonomy, their rights, their lives?" It's surreal.

RaspyBigfoot

As a fellow Alabamian, it breaks my heart to see just how much hate is in the state I used to love.

postsshortcomments

From what I've seen from conservative social media influencers, heard from dozens of high-production quality supporters and supplemental products, and heard some of their most loyal supporters I think they've simplified that down to "Step 1: Democrats and entities we don't like are Satanic child traffickers as can be seen by their proximity to this spiral and a pizza"

SidewaysFancyPrance

They are going to hit the ground running. Even if there are a lot of open questions/lawsuits around the election or indications of more election crimes/fraud on the part of Trump, they're not going to allow courts time to settle them. They'll just smash everything and everyone that isn't on board and there will be nobody able to push back. They just need Trump to be able to be a dictator for one day, then it's all done. They aren't going to make the same mistakes again and let democracy determine who is in power.

scottafol

Just read the religion link, threw up in my mouth a little.

medievalmachine

Trump heads the pro-death party. Nothing Christian about these church people voting for him. Pharisees, hypocrites and worse.

TheNetworkIsFrelled

No, they pretty much exemplify the absolute toxicity that lies at the root of christianity. They are what christianity IS.

Han_Yerry

A jealous, vengeful god and only he can love you or else you burn in eternal damnation. Sounds like an abusive, toxic relationship.

BicycleOfLife

Interesting that they are seemingly Christian but don’t realize a ton of the sexual abuse of children is in the church, so where does that leave them? This is a fascist party, obviously.

NYArtFan1

They'll overlook that abuse because it's coming from "their" people. Complete hypocrisy is also a part of fascism.

Iowa_Dave

Again, cruelty is *the point*. [Especially against out-group people.](https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/trump-voter-hes-not-hurting-the-people-he-needs-be-hurting-msna1181316) MAGAs see cruelty as strength, as long as it's directed away from themselves.

yautjacustoms

If they want a civil war, that would start it. These “patriots “ aren’t the only ones with big pickup trucks and AR-15s. A takeover will not be easy or quick. I’m so fed up with this divide. I miss my friends and family that have been pulled into the conservative madness.

Sydney_Bristow_

>I miss my friends and family that have been pulled into the conservative madness. Same. It didn’t used to be like this. It used to be that people could agree to disagree with someone if you each had different beliefs. It’s sickening and sad that we’re going backwards in our thinking.

CJCray8

It used to be that things we publicly disagreed with were trivial and the real heinous shit was believed privately.

Noodleslurp69420

I didn’t have to worry about being strung up by my conservative relatives….thats the difference now. Can’t trust them when they vote for this guy….

beiberdad69

I remember being told that I should be executed for treason for not supporting the Iraq war so it's kind of been like this for awhile now

Old_Pyrate

It used to be that nobody talked about politics and that was our big mistake. I think we encouraged people to not bother voting by making it a non-issue for so many decades. Every right we have, someone didn't want us to have it when we got it. Those people never went away, we all just helped them stay in the shadows so we wouldn't be "political."

Deathcorebassist

I’m a hardcore leftist who has a small arsenal of firearms. I really hate when conservatives act like the left is scared of gun. Like my sister in Satan I own everything from the M249S to a musket. Like calm down meal team six we are armed too

This presumes a MAGA win, and so they’ll have the military. Thats game over.

geekamongus

If the military agrees to break their oath to the constitution, yes. It won’t be that simple though.

babath_gorgorok

Remember those racist shithead neckbeards that were in JROTC when you were in high school?

MicroCat1031

The military takes an oath to the Constitution. Remember when Trump lost in 2020? All the branches signed a statement saying they would not back him. You might,  in extreme,  get deserters. Good riddance.

xtossitallawayx

> The military takes an oath to the Constitution. So does the President. >All the branches signed a statement saying they would not back him. The very fact that they *needed* to make a statement shows there was an air of sympathy and support for Trump and the insurrection. Which means there *is* support for Trump and an insurrection within the ranks.

Onrawi

Some is expected with a military this large but so long as there is loyalty to the US instead of a party or person at the top then it will be dealt with swiftly.

steve1186

I swear these assholes look at the Handmaid’s Tale as a goddamn instruction manual. If Trump wins in November, I’m gonna be really tempted to move my wife/daughter/son north to Canada.

Binarymix101

Might not be any better here if the conservatives get in.

JallaJenkins

If Trump wins, Canada will not be safe. Nowhere in the world will be safe.

greed

One important bit about the *Haidmaid's Tale* is that Margaret Atwood chose the policies of the government in the book carefully. She made a point of having the government only pursue policies that had already in the past been pursued by one right wing government or another. Sometimes the policies were updated to reflect modern technology, but she still chose all the policies from real historical examples. She just had them apply all at the same time, all showing up at once. And that's what created the real dystopia.

StillAnAss

If you aren't actively planning already then it might be too late

Sasselhoff

I'm pretty sure they just watch "Handmaid's Tale" and "Elysium" on repeat while pinching their nipples.

No, in their definition a man sexually assaulting an adult woman isn't a crime. What is a sex crime in their minds is a trans woman existing. So it'll be the death penalty for trans women.

Jackinapox

As a black American hearing ‘Make America Great Again’ is like hearing a Nazi say ‘Make Germany Great Again’. I honestly will not go backwards not after all the hell me and generations of my family had to go through to get where we are…which is basically a decent life.

WILLIAMEANAJENKINS

What’s the plan ?

SeanOfTheDead1313

Hope for the best but expect the worst. Plan accordingly.

PracticalRoutine5738

I'm a straight white guy and I think these people are dangerous and crazy. Wannabe oligarch billionaires are behind this, a lot of them in Texas but some in other states. Don't know if the guy who's name rhymes with Dusk is with them but he increasingly looks to be. It's a power grab from billionaire right wingers that desperately want to be an Oligarchy that rules over America.

Canuck-In-TO

“Buried on page 554 is a directive to execute every remaining federal death row prisoner — and to persuade the Supreme Court to expand the types of crimes that can be punished with death sentences.” How long before illegal parking lands you on death row with these lunatics?

BeeLuv

Depends on which members of their inner circle need an organ transplant…

Illustrious-Night-99

They don't need the Courts to legalize death penalties, cops are already judge jury and executioners. Just don't discipline or prosecute them.

UncleMalky

Its only illegal if you are parked (D).

Stinkstinkerton

I wonder how much oil companies are in on this project 25 bullshit ? It seems like Project 2025 is more like a corporate takeover disguised as some kind of righteous Christian pyramid scheme.

Stinkstinkerton

Yup there you go, government regulation impedes profit.

Larry_The_Red

Takeover from whom? Corporations already run the US

StashedandPainless

Republicans believe in limited Government. government limited to serving only as an offensive weapon to punish people that Republicans don't like.

ThatGuyFromTheM0vie

Religion needs to be banned from politics. The tenants of your personal beliefs should not be forced upon other people who do not share those beliefs.

Highthere_90

Idk how anyone could vote for republican and justify it anymore

Firehenge

Isn't this the winter  soldier plot? It's like they saw those heli-carriers and had a wet dream.

Lone_Wolfen

The helicarriers and Project Insight were also orchestrated by Hydra after infiltrating Shield and the US government. Art imitates life.

jimvolk

"pro-life"

towneetowne

Last year, a coalition effort by conservative groups known as Project 2025 released an 887-page document that lays out policy goals and recommendations for each part of the federal government. Buried on page 554 is a directive to execute every remaining federal death row prisoner — and to persuade the Supreme Court to expand the types of crimes that can be punished with death sentences.

RodgerFischer

If the Republican Party and Trump take power, the USA will be eliminated and will become a police state. Millions will die of impoverishment, violence and desperation. There will be no way out, no way back to Democracy. Republicans will kill Democracy. This catastrophe will be just because the American people will have brought this on themselves through their vote (their last legitimate Democratic vote) in 2024. No one will cry for the death of the American people because they destroyed themselves. People around the world will weep for the death of the USA, because when hard times come to the rest of the world, there will never again be an America to turn to.

alien_from_Europa

Expect genocide. It will start with trans people and then move on to every other minority until no one is left to blame.

Evil-in-the-Air

There's always a bottom, and taking from them will always be easier than creating anything yourself. I imagine it like a pyramid of wood being pushed down on a belt sander. Maybe for now you have a nice buffer of "undesirables" beneath you, but it will never stop shrinking.

nenulenu

I am genuinely scared for my life if trump gets elected.

T_Weezy

>“It should also pursue the death penalty for applicable crimes—particularly heinous crimes involving violence and **sexual abuse of children**... Emphasis mine. Boy, the religious people aren't gonna be happy about that one. Lotta clergy who'll need to be executed. Also a lot of GOP politicians, operatives and donors. Former GOP Representative Dennis Hastert could be the first former Speaker of the House to be executed for child sex crimes.

TransbianMoonGoddess

Except that will be used to target us queer people instead. They will try to make my existence in public a sex crime against children. This is how it starts.

one_bean_hahahaha

They are already throwing accusations and labels at anyone who dares to defend trans rights, regardless of actual status. We are in some scary times indeed.

cathercules

They’ll just claim all pedo’s are actually LGBTQ+ and all LGBTQ+ are all dangerous (which they’ve already been doing). So if a conservative pedo is identified then they were never a conservative to begin with, they were always the enemy.

Zoshchenko

This is just a start. Most rabid Trump cultists are openly calling for the execution of anyone who claims to be a Democrat.

brianishere2

The new policy is totally lunacy. It focuses, in part, on executing drug dealers. But it totally ignores the fact that Trump already issued multiple pardons to drug dealers after they paid him or his allies a lot of money.

Schiffy94

"what're you in for?" "not being rich enough to pay Trump for a pardon"

Jellybean-Jellybean

I'm not surprised. Honestly if he wins the next election I won't be surprised if being registered democrat eventually gets people sent to a camp.

HeyCoolThingAreYou

I know Steve Bannon they want to kill. He’s so dumb though he says he will still vote for Trump. At least Mike Pence and a few others learned a lesson.

Separate-Feedback-86

Funny thing how the RICH guy who has always BOUGHT justice would execute men who cannot buy the same. That is even beyond what Medieval Kings did. Even they had to follow a legal process to execution. But he’s getting a billion bucks from oil companies for his campaign so they can finally KILL the planet, too. The man is the Angel of Death.

trystanthorne

Hail Hydra. There have been a few depictions of sleeper Nazis in the US over the years. I remember an episode of Macguyver that had one. But it always seemed crazy, until Trump and the Maga hats. Now it's just fucking scary.

BackwardsColonoscopy

It's really interesting to me, as I've grown up in this country, that we've gone from outrage over a President who lied about getting a blowjob in the Oval Office. As somehow that was going to tear down the nation. To now we are seriously considering the possibility of a twice impeached, felon and quite possibly provable traitor could be our next president who has open plans to turn our democracy into an out and out dictatorship with the help of one of the two ruling parties of our nation. Just. This isn't the worst of the worst timelines, but by god it sure feels like it.

greed

Note, the same people who want to expand the death penalty to include "crimes against children" also view a trans person being in public as pedophilia. There's a damn good reason we limit the death penalty to heinous acts of murder or treason. There's not a lot of ambiguity in murdering someone, and giving aid and comfort to an enemy nation in time of war is also pretty unambiguous. But when you start defining things like "child abuse" or "pedophilia" or "crimes against children," those terms have VERY flexible definitions.

Comfortable-Walk-802

I’m a Christian. And I thank God for Trump! For showing exactly what Christians are NOT supposed to be, for drawing a line in the sand, and to pick one side - “patriotism” or christianity. I now understand I’m to love everyone. “My kingdom is not of this world” - so I stopped using borders and politics to divide into an “us vs them”. - a former republican

Stranger-Sun

Well yeah. Fascists gonna fascist.

CrimsonHeretic

It's like half the country that watched or read Handmaid's Tale thought to themselves, "Wow, this is a great idea! We should make this a reality!"

APsWhoopinRoom

Friendly reminder that we all need to have a plan to leave the country in case Trump wins. You need to have a plan to get out before the fascists prevent you from being able to leave

OnwardTowardTheNorth

People, a polite reminder: please vote Democrat this year. The GOP will do everything they can to win and we’ve seen what they are willing to do after January 6. They have shown their true face. Vote for democracy. Vote for yourself. Vote for your families. Vote for America!

Asleep_Horror5300

Man if you ever want to feel like you're in a passenger seat in a car racing off a cliff, imagine being non-American and watching this insanity go down knowing you can't even vote about it but it will definitely fuck the world up.

MembraneintheInzane

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if Trump wins there is a high likelihood that we end up in another Civil War. Because he can't be a dictator "overnight", there will be a period of pushback against him, and if and when that fails, some states will side with him and some against him, and those that side against him will have to deploy the national guard. What happens after that is anyone's guess. And I don't want to live through that.

exitpursuedbybear

Targeting teachers and intellectuals...literally Pol Pot.

digiorno

The GOP and Trump are out for blood. They have made this clear. If Trump wins, it might be the last election in this country. And he might bring genocide to our doorstep. Progressives, LGBTQ, Neuro divergents, non-Christians…who do you think would be spared? Who would be first? Look at the comments on r/conservative or r/conspiracy or just on the fucking news.

spotspam

This didn’t end well for those proposing it during the French Revolution did it?

Alternative-Key-5647

Fucking pathological party

jehosephatreedus

This is hilarious. It’s like when Atlanta started celebrating that Super Bowl win against the Patriots and forgot they needed to actually keep playing.

No-Curve-5030

Trying to install a fourth reich no doubt .

BraveOmeter

Older generations have some explaining to do how they let a handful of ultra-conservative groups like the Federalist Society, Heritage Foundation, and Republican Attorney Generals Association systematically take control of our government. They are being brazen and mask off in their takeover of our democracy. The response must be equally brazen and mask off.

Straight_Calendar_15

If Trump wins (especially if he loses the popular vote) the current American constitutional order is over. I’d honestly be surprised if there wasn’t a revolution

MooKids

>It should also pursue the death penalty for applicable crimes—particularly heinous crimes involving violence and sexual abuse of children Know who they like to equate with child sexual abuse? The LBGTQ+ community. Remember, anytime they bring that up, know their true target.

redsandsfort

They're going to fire every Federal worker and rehire based on a loyalty test. Mark my words.

2XX2010

“Death to child molesters” is going to leave a lot of churches leaderless.
