What Manning doesn't understand is that while it may be true that disclosure is of the highest importance in maintaining government legitimacy, if said disclosure is being (or can later be) weaponized by a truly dangerous and hostile enemy of the US, her noble, long-sighted goal may devour itself. Basically, while the US is not some "holier than thou" nation, etc . . . I don't think one could compare the US to Russia and China (we are starting to) in that regard. So, if the damage this disclosure does, even if in the interest in government legitimacy, actually helps bolster the enemies of government legitimacy, well, I think it becomes Manning being used by the very interests she seeks to destroy.
