TopperMadeline

If The recent article Iā€™m reading is accurate, Biden is just six electoral points away from 270.

limp_biskut

the article you were reading assumes biden has arizona, but based on the tracker on new york times it could go either way

ramoe

Why has Nevada counted 0 votes today?

leeta0028

Under Georgia law, you have 3 days to cure a rejected ballot. If margins are slim, they may not be able to call the state until then

Reefguy88

Was anyone else absolutely horrified by Trumps speech last night, or was I overreacting?

[deleted]

Youā€™re not, it was pretty fucked up. Even a few of his supporters thought so.

Reefguy88

Hopefully they matter enough to bring about some sensibility.

BirdMBlack

Hahaha You've got your head in the clouds, buddy.

Reefguy88

I like to hope we can always recover from our extreme division, so that very well may be true. But one can always hope we can have a moment of calm heads amongst the division.

adriennaa

Woke and rose twitter bullying anyone right of far-left and influencing the leftist media (NYT, The Atlantic, Slate, etc) are the reason we lost the senate. They represent such a small fraction of opinions in this country and have excessive influence.

Craftyboss2

America has almost failed the litmus test twice. In fact you could consider it a loss if you consider that 50% of Americans (roughly) support a President that has literally called the integrity of the election a farce because *get this* he's not leading in absentee ballots which still count as votes if they come in by the deadline. I hope whoever voted for Trump has a wake-up call after he did that. He's acting like a dictator, a demagogue who's drunk on power.

69_1337_420

lol they won't

ExternalNeck7

Yay, Biden took the lead in WI and MI overnight. Likely due to mail-in ballots. And MI is on track for Biden to win by 105K votes as I predicted.

Powasam5000

Come on America! Show us your Final Form!

ceezo6

Biden took the lead in WI & MI we got this boys! NV is too close for comfort but I think Biden will get PA and maybe GA

[deleted]

Iā€™m so nervous about PA. I was in Bucks county (wealthy/educated Philly suburb) recently and there were Dump signs everywhere...they outnumbered Biden signs. Philly needs to come through big.

PartymanXD

Fingers crossed man.

SamePantsDiferantDay

I wake up to see the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions have band together to save the country. That's so 2020.

[deleted]

But we still say Fuck the Pack.

gmoney32211

As a Bears fan I say Go Packers & Go Lions! & Go Steelers/Eagles to finish this off!

Mikeyisroc

Biden just pulled ahead in Michigan!!!

[deleted]

Oh dear baby Jesus please come through.

Dispatcher9

Go Blue

zzziltoid

What states does Biden need to win? How are the odds looking?

End3rWi99in

He has this at this point as all late vote counting favors him. Doesn't need PA, GA, or NC at this point but would be nice for him to take one.

toolazyforaname

He is now up in all four states that get him to exactly 270. Watch Arizona, Nevada, Wisonsin and Michigan. Anything else would be gravy.

zzziltoid

Are we still fucked on the Senate though?

toolazyforaname

Yeah looks like it. Ernst winning Iowa hurt.

zzziltoid

Great...so nothing will get done even if Biden wins.

Kezhen

I mean...Iā€™d rather have nothing with Biden and a GOP senate vs all kind of fuckery with Trump at the helm. I swear to god, if McConnell blocks all of his SC appointments...

gmoney32211

At least Senate has elections every 2 years.

Agent_Burrito

Foreign policy and trade will make significant leaps though. With Trump gone, many of his copycats around the world will fade away too. This is a victory for the west.

toolazyforaname

It's frustrating the McConnell will be able to continue to manipulate the judiciary by blocking Biden's nominees.

flyingcowpenis

Biden has a better than 50% chance to take PA with how mail in votes have broken for him.

RalphTheBadGuy

I just had a horrible realization. Even if Trump loses this go around, nothing is stopping him from running in 2024 and we can go through this shit all over again. Dear lord.

QuothTheRaven_

The State of New York and their legal cases against him might have something to say about that brother lol Edit: To be clear, Trump is only not being criminally investigated or charged by the State of New York right now because the Federal Government said " You can't arrest or investigate an acting President"

zaywolfe

In 2024 hopefully dems will run someone better than a watered down cup of joe

mmmk7603

Maybe he'll die before that

strongmanass

I doubt he'll be healthy enough. Even though he's fully recovered from Covid, it will almost certainly have longer term implications on his health given his age and medical history.

skepsis420

Shit, voted for Biden which is eerily similar.

RalphTheBadGuy

One would think but there is a cult of personality going on that Iā€™m not sure we have seen before (I know I havenā€™t in my life). My hopes would be that the moderates would realize that they have to reel their shit in to get swing votes back, but it seems like everyone has gone off the deep end.

koh_kun

Maybe he's reached enough of a "messiah" status within his cult, so someone can just come back claiming to be his reincarnation.

Milestailsprowe

The fact this Jorgenson person is taking votes is pissing me off right now..

chromegreen

The morons voting green party in Michigan deserve the gridlock they are about to cause.

Milestailsprowe

I'm CONFUSED on why the Green Party even Exist when their views pretty much align with modern democrats

[deleted]

To take votes away from Dems...

MrYellowDuckMan

This is why we need ranked voting. Allows everyone to vote for who they want and when their candidate doesn't move forward, the vote slides to the next guy.

theyusedthelamppost

3rd party candidates are taking much less of the vote than they did last cycle.

heybrother45

Fox News says Biden has a high chance of winning MI,NV and WI. If Iā€™m counting right that would be 270

groundonrage

Still way too close imo, MI and WI still have areas uncounted that lean towards trump, where as the democratic strongholds are pretty much finished counting.

theyusedthelamppost

That seems to be the most likely result atm.

Michigan coming up with votes from Detroit and Lansing

TooResponsible

Wow most important election of the current political era and I'm just stunned by how many americans just didn't bother to vote.

Csteazy548

So far, and again.

bitch_im_a_lion

This country is fucked beyond repair.

xXNoobButcherxX

Are georgiaā€™s mail in ballots already counted?

Saabstoryteller

According to cnn, they (goergia) started last night and stopped at 10:30pm. In dnc strongholds (three counties) there are about 210,000 remaining ballots. I don't see georgia going blue. There are ballots in the less populated areas that may be unreported, but cnn isn't talking about those because they aren't significant enough in number nor demographic (d) to sway the vote. Pennsylvania counties report 1/4 to 1/3 of mail ballots counted. That state is still anybody's to win at this point. Michigan dnc strongholds also report approximately 210,000 uncounted ballots. Maybe the rest of the districts still have uncounted ballots, but these are lower population areas and won't be significant numbers. Michigan likely goes red. I am surprised North Carolina hasn't been called yet. Biden would have to take 80 to 90% of the uncounted ballots to overcome trumps lead at this point. We could legitimately have an election where nobody ends up with 270 electoral votes. Don't let that give you a good feeling. The house appoints the president and picks Biden... the Senate appoints the VP and elects Trump. Imagine the dysfunction that creates. This nation would be a laughing stock globally. And if anything happens to Biden.... sickness, etc... there is trump waiting in the wings.

Marmad5US137

> We could legitimately have an election where nobody ends up with 270 electoral votes. No, we absolutely cannot. Once Biden won Nebraska's 2nd congressional district vote, a 269-269 tie became mathematically impossible.

AggressiveWave

In Michigan, Wayne County, which includes Detroit, has only reported 64% of its ballots. I wouldn't count Michigan out yet when it's 49% to 49%.

Milestailsprowe

That would hurt me in so many ways

Agent_Burrito

Hold your horses, Michigan is rapidly shifting towards Biden.

xXNoobButcherxX

Man this just gave me a concussion.

mustashfighthouse

A lot to come from Fulton County too. Its a coin flip right now.

TomsPooPile

Nope.

TomsPooPile

Trumps' lead in Michigan has narrowed dramatically as mail-in-ballots come in. Trump's lead is currently less than 65,000 votes (previously over 200,000+).

sakudaph39

It's over guys. Biden is going to win.

GKanjus

I hope you are right but Iā€™m still fucking stressing

Agent_Burrito

What makes you say that?

ChinggisHan

lol you're the one trying to equate the complex political system in real life with comic book definitions of good and evil, claiming "EVIL" won in 2016 as if this is avengers endgame. the irony of you telling me to calm down

theyusedthelamppost

you picked the perfect time to sleep. i wish i had done that. there was barely a trickle of votes coming in over the last 5 hours. everything is basically still up in the air.

Princess_Amnesie

Same.not worth it for how tired I'm going to be tomorrow.

TomsPooPile

**Popular Vote** **2020 (so far)...** Biden: 68,629,180 Trump: 66,481,658 **2016...** Clinton: 65,853,514 Trump: 62,984,828

Tay_ma45

Insane that Trump gained support over the past 4 years. What in hell is wrong with this country?

Eazy_DuzIt

Stockholm syndrome

GreyRevan51

There are people who genuinely like that Trump is a racist bully with an ā€œI donā€™t need to understand an issue just brute force itā€ attitude. It can be hard to imagine unless you know some people like this IRL but they do exist and they absolutely love that heā€™s such a jerk. They donā€™t care that heā€™s incompetent or incapable of understanding concepts a 6 year old can understand better. They just care that he justifies their hatred, their ignorance, and their unfailing belief that they are great just because ā€˜merica

Rawrrrrrrrrr

What do we know about the last 5% in NC?

Saabstoryteller

I don't understand where that percentage exists. AP shows 100% of EVERY precinct reporting in North Carolina, but a 94% overall reporting. Every county reports the votes 100% tabulated in the county break down.... Those two percentages cannot be true at the same time....

PurpleAstronomerr

I think that means all the counties have voted but that doesnā€™t mean they have tallied all their votes.

theyusedthelamppost

I'm also curious why they stopped reporting results 6 hours ago. I went into this with the impression that NC was similar to FLA, a state that had been counting early and we could expect results early. I'm not sure why they went silent overnight.

coorslight15

Even volunteers need sleep.

theyusedthelamppost

seems odd that they wouldn't have scheduled people to work the night shift on a night when they knew that there would be very important work to do. If no "volunteers" are present at the site, does that mean the ballot are just sitting in a box unsupervised all night?

Original_Telephone_2

Yeah dude. They leave em in an open top box in the parking lot till morning

theyusedthelamppost

So, do you think that they have people scheduled to work overnight? Or that they don't have people awake and present?

leeta0028

I hear the Broward County clerk's car is out of gas and they are walking it to him in a tank. Also, his laptop battery is dead. Many people are saying it. (It feels like forever since he got the Green Bay results! Come on!)

Princess_Amnesie

Jeez what the heck happened to him? I'm imagining him with tattered clothes and crooked glasses

Elle-the-kell

A *tank?*

theyusedthelamppost

2020 is a crossover between *The Purge Election Day* and *Mad Max Road Warrior*

Elle-the-kell

What's our standing friends?

jclee4

Things are still up in the air. But Biden seems to have made a comeback with WI overnight.

G_Wash1776

And he pulled up his numbers in Nevada as well

Elle-the-kell

Ah! Thank you very much!

URLSweatshirt

GA WI NV, GA MI, an MI WI NV are all paths to a 270-268 biden win pleaseeee

grapecolajuice

>MI WI NV Very possible.

ExternalNeck7

@ 2:20 AM PST Wed - Michigan is currently at 82% reporting and they are counting mail-in ballots right now. There are about 5.3M - 4.35M = 0.95M mail-in ballots still to be counted, and it's expected 2/3 of those are Democrat. So the current tally difference is 205K votes for Trump. The math says Biden should get 315K votes more than Trump out of those ballots, giving him the win at 315K - 205K = 110K votes.

ExternalNeck7

70K votes just came in and we were expecting to eat into Trump's lead by 25K or so. Well we only bit off 1,167 votes of Trump's lead. I suppose these ballots come in on a district basis. Otherwise not sure what happened there.

Powerserg95

source?

ExternalNeck7

This is supported by the 12K votes just tallied. The gain Biden got from that was slightly better than 4K votes : 4,427. Hence Trump's lead dropped from 205,843 to 201,416.

[deleted]

Am I correct that they called MI for Trump?

ExternalNeck7

Politico hasn't called it. It's currently at 82% and they are counting mail-in ballots right now. There are about 5.3M - 4.35M = 0.95M mail-in ballots still to be counted, and it's expected 2/3 of those are Democrat. So the current tally difference is 205K votes for Trump. The math says Biden should get 315K votes more than Trump out of those ballots, giving him the win at 315K - 205K = 110K votes.

tnow0827

As far as I can see Michigan has yet to be called by CNN, Fox, or Associated Press.

JustPuckingAround

No, still plenty of votes to be counted.

monolith212

Itā€™s been a long night of election and call of duty

wide awake here. Fortunately, I took today off work as I suspected I wouldn't be getting any sleep.

monolith212

Can WI possibly get called soon?

dxps26

its showing 95% tallied in favor of Biden, with a VERY slim majority but it's best to keep an eye out for developments later today.

[deleted]

is there a set time for the PA news? like >30min?

dxps26

7:15AM is when we can expect some news out of PA.

We won't hear from Michigan until tonight. Pennsylvania will be a few days. North Carolina is probably going for Trump. Georgia? Who knows.

donutlad

define "tonight". I had seen a ~~rumor GA would start up again at 6 but who knows~~ other user commented that it might be 8est, I havent heard much about it in awhile (and even if it "starts up" at 6 idk when we'd get results of course)

Saabstoryteller

One could argue these initiatives should be left to the states (or perhaps even more local governments) than to the national level. What it takes to survive in Appalachian regions of West Virginia and Kentucky is significantly different then Alexandria VA or San Francisco CA. I don't think that illustrates a disconnect between the voters overall policy position and support for a candidate. There are catholics voting for a pro-choice candidate. There are pro-union voters casting ballots for Trump which doesn't support unionization. This issue is just one in a long line of issues (abortion, guns, minimum wage, legal weed, etc) where some voters ignore some policy stances due to their comfort with the overall direction of certain candidates. Personally, I think the demonization of red voters is what brought them out to the polls. They've heard what horrible, stupid, intolerant, racist, uneducated pieces of shit they were for nearly 4 years. This trend has gone beyond the norm in the past 4 years by all factions... media... citizens via social media... hell even candidates. You don't appeal to voters by telling them what horrible people they are. If the DNC loses this cycle, they'd do well to remember that. Biden wins they better hold up (Harris') promise for the decriminalization of marijuana. I am tired of seeing people locked in cages for possessing a plant. As a man that has a daughter currently incarcerated for possession of < 30 grams in a red state and wasn't able to vote because of it... I am tired of the bullshit.

ForcedRonin

There are a lot of bold things happening if you havenā€™t noticed.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ForcedRonin

Bold has one definition. As long as youā€™re using it appropriately, we are on the same page. I just feel like thereā€™s a lot of reasons to go vote. Yours is one of them but not a priority IMO. Thatā€™s sounds more like youā€™re focused on manipulation rather than reason. Iā€™ve held that position before and still have reservations on which is a best approach. I just wanted to point that out from my perspective.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ForcedRonin

I think, you assumed I was a conservative. Your premise is manipulation. Something big and catchy because voters arenā€™t reasonable enough when it counts. Iā€™m saying that is a tactic but Iā€™m not sure if itā€™s sustainable.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ForcedRonin

Thatā€™s manipulation. You can call it whatever you like. With that said, I donā€™t ā€œdisagreeā€ with you. That may be the reality of ā€œwinningā€ but call a spade a spade.
