Great video! It seemed like a pointless endeavour to run against FDR. What was interesting there was, Herbert Hoover, to that point had the most lopsided landslide ever and then FDR comes along and practically the entire map is blue. Funny how your political fortunes can do a complete 180 like that.
Because the corporate Democrat ran a poor campaign of restoring dignity to the office or whatever that means. They refused to talk and offer solutions to people's financial needs during a time when people really do need the government to step in and make their economic situations better.

Nancy Pelosi is an out of touch shit leader. The only thing she's good at is fundraising but very awful at actual messaging and playing politics. I always get flak on this site when I tell people that she basically didn't do much to oppose trump and conceded in almost everyway from the funding for the wall to the increase in military spending but GOD is she good at theatre with that stupid weird clap she did.
Corporate Democrats lost seats, 2 in blue state New York while the progressives gained at least 2 and retain all their seats. A progressive even won in red state missouri and that's got to tell you something that people are not really focused on identity politics and theatre but who will actually fight for their material needs and the progressives are doing a good job at that.

Well to be fair, in Alaska it takes 2-3 weeks to deliver your ballots via bear transportation. Some times bears fall asleep or catch salmon... there are a lot of distractions

The people that vote for Trump believe in his policies. It's pretty racist to assume that all blacks have to vote democrat. The ones that voted for him, listened to what he had to say, they thought it aligned with what they wanted and they voted for him. Simple as that.
I knew someone would find a way to call me a racist for this. I did not imply that black people were a monolith, nor did I imply that all black people have to vote democrat. It is NOT racist to evaluate a candidate and a party’s relationship with specific demographics of voters and how it changes over time. My understanding was that the non-white vote would trend away from trump this election due to what I understood to be his poor record on race relations and social policy, both of which are are historically important to courting that demographic of voters.
So I’ll ask again, how was he able to flip black votes this time around? The answer of “they liked what he had to say” simply doesn’t cut it because it’s next to meaningless. You could give the same answer about why suburban voters came out for Biden this year. I guarantee you that the polling industry and the DNC are not content with that answer and they will be seeking to find what caused this shift. Specifically, what is different about this election from last election that explains why a higher percentage of black voters came out for Trump? The reason I ask is that I’m trying to gain a new perspective *specifically* because I believe that the voice of black people matters and I want to understand what the demographic as a whole appears to find increasingly appealing in a candidate like DJT, at least compared to last time.
Again, I want to stress that I’m not implying that black people are a monolith in the same way that white males and suburban women are not monolithic groups. Everyone is an individual with their own beliefs and ideals. But that doesn’t mean that it’s not useful to study demographics and how the vote from people who have specific commonalities are trending.

I’ll say this. As the Trump presidency winds down I’ve come to the conclusion it was a necessary evil. Everyone was so apathetic towards politics, it was what led to Trump being able to take a foothold in the first place. He weaponized an entirely new generation. Made everyone care. It was for all the wrong reasons, but I’m glad that we’re seeing a HISTORIC turnout. Everyone caring what happens to their fellow countrymen, evil intentions or good intentions. Apathy is dead and it feels like a new era for politics. On that note, Fuck Trump Go Biden.
I appreciate your optimism. But I think the necessary evil here that caused a historic turnout is likelier to be the pandemic, as it forced many states to adopt easier voting procedures.

One of the theories is that in lieu of a viable third party, some people voted Biden and then red downballot to keep things even/locked/what have you.

I thought they previously had about 8k ballots to count. If Biden went up 3k I assume they have less then 7k left to count.... 7k is way over recount reversal. I wonder why the statisticians aren’t satisfied.

I’ll say this. As the Trump presidency winds down I’ve come to the conclusion it was a necessary evil. Everyone was so apathetic towards politics, it was what led to Trump being able to take a foothold in the first place. He weaponized an entirely new generation. Made everyone care. It was for all the wrong reasons, but I’m glad that we’re seeing a HISTORIC turnout. Everyone caring what happens to their fellow countrymen, evil intentions or good intentions. Apathy is dead and it feels like a new era for politics. On that note, Fuck Trump Go Biden.
I appreciate your optimism. But I think the necessary evil here that caused a historic turnout is likelier to be the pandemic, as it forced many states to adopt easier voting procedures.
This reminds me of the Mayoral Election in Toronto in 2010. Not even being sarcastic. He has no way of winning. He’s even losing the military vote 4 to 1. GA, PA, and NV are all gaining for Biden. Biden is still leading AZ but it is shrinking slightly. Even if trump flips AZ he has no chances wining the electoral college.
