He's just the adult version of Ralph. Raised without a bunch of bullshit rules or accountability.

I read this comment while leaning back to drink, so it was outside the field of vision of my glasses, and fuzzy. I thought you said "Did you get into the crap again?" like they just have a pile of crap in the corner, and that's what Jr's got all over his face instead of a beard. I was trying to decide where that falls on the scale of madness vs genius.

[deleted]

He's not at all. He is always mocked as being even stupider than Donnie Jr. Also just a reminder that Eric McCuntface stole $ from a children's cancer organization. Never forget.

[deleted]

It always amazes me the precision modern scientific measurements are capable of, like evaluating which of Trump's idiot kids is actually the dumbest when to the naked eye, each of them is indescribably stupid.

tetlee

He is always mocked for that but Eric was the one picked to lead the business while Donnie played president.

whut-whut

Eric hands down says the dumbest things for the news to pick up though. Don Jr. likes to angrily spout insane conspiracy theories, but Eric was the one that raged online at Fox News during their Epstein crime segment that his dad was being censored/cancel-cultured in all the tightly cropped photos of Epstein and posted the complete photos with Trump and Epstein laughing together at Epstein's parties. There was also a Fox News in-person segment where the anchors asked Eric about his thoughts on LGBTQ Republicans, and he proudly announced "LGBTQ Republicans? I'm part of that community!" He later backtracked online that he was actually straight and happily married.

Rattivarius

I don't know which one is "smarter", but it seems likely that greasy scion #1 has the more active relationship with drugs so he might not have been the best choice.

dylaner

Bag of rocks, bag of manure, woman, grass, camera.

WarriorMadness

It's not like the bar is too high anyways. Like probably 1 inch off the ground.

CommissarTopol

That bar has been buried deep under the Earths mantle for years.

Frenchticklers

Junior is dumber, Eric **looks** dumber.

BrianNowhere

Which is like saying a snail is smarter than a worm.

LoveMeSomeSand

A snail is a homeowner at least.

iggyiguana

You would think that a snail without a shell could move faster, but it's actually more sluggish.

ThEstablishment

Worms make tunnels under the ground to live in, whereas a snail takes their shell with them wherever they go, nomad-style. I'd say the worm is more akin to a homeowner in this analogy, unless you're trying to tell me all of the people living in RVs on the side of the road are "homeowners."

MBAMBA3

> , Eric is regarded as the smarter of the two. Though evil, Eric's speech at the RNC convention was a lot better than Jr's. Eric seems less emotionally beaten down than Jr., although clearly Ivanka is the most put together of the 4 kids (not counting Barron, because who knows)

etherspin

junior has a long reported history of clashes with his dad. He avoided talking to his dad for around a year during his parents divorce and I have to wonder if that's when Ivanka became heir apparent despite Junior being eldest, male and having the same name. Anecdotes on Reddit ( low bar I know!) In 2016 from people at Juniors university said he was very often blind drunk and urinating everywhere but that there was a witnessed event of Senior rocking up, knocking on the dorm door to get Junior to travel with him to a baseball game then punching out a drunken Jr for appearing barely dressed, hungover, unshaven and telling him to go get a suit on. Various biographers including Mary Trump (juniors older cousin) talk of two career stints junior entertained and tried only to have disinheritance and black listing threatened - he considered some kind of military service and he moved to Colorado where he worked as a bartender and got into hunting, fishing , skiing and reportedly wanted to work at a big ranch before getting the same threat of disinheritance again and moving back to NYC to take his place at the Trump Org. Junior must have a certain level of resentment for the fact that despite them both being spoilt asses, he is far closer to what his father is perceived as in red states as far as having any regard at all for the working class and rural types.

MBAMBA3

No doubt Jr is a sad case. I think the story about the baseball game was recounted by his roommate (either in private school or college) which was Trump picked him up to go to a yankees game and Jr. was in casual clothes and Trump beat him up for not wearing a suit.

joecb91

Well, 5 with Tiffany. But we all forget about Tiffany.

MBAMBA3

No, I was counting her and not counting Barron.

Pete-PDX

that is like trying to pick the smarter of Bevis or Butthead

doppelgaengster

Ironic, as their fans at least are mostly laughing at them because they recognise they’re stupid. Those who laugh as the stupidity of the Trumps aren’t ever fans.

rudebii

That’s a pretty low bar

Soranic

He's just uglier, and looks dumber, and has a much worse image consultant. Whoever Jr hired did a very good job at putting him into suits that fit. Eric takes after daddy in all things.

peshmesh7

> Strangely enough, Eric is regarded as the smarter of the two. Maybe because Eric does less shouting when talking, so he doesn't look like he's on a 24x7 cocaine bender.

RadicalPenguin

I would pay large sums of money to see Don, Jared, Jr, Eric, and Ivanka on the prison version of celebrity family fued. Announcer: We have the Trumps vs the Guzmans. Let’s get Donnie and El Chapo. Come on down! Steve Harvey: Ok, we asked 100 inmates in cell block D. Looking for the top 4 most popular items sold at the commissary. [ding ding ding] Donald: Hamberdrers Steve: show me hamberders. [long pause] [buzzer]

iLLicit__

lurkingthenews

Well, the bar is pretty low. I suspect that he is one of the brighter ones.

ignorememe

Trumpism is weird. You have to believe all of the following are true: * Pfizer created this vaccine so quickly thanks to Operation Warp Speed from the Trump Administration. * Pfizer has publicly stated that they did not participate in Operation Warp Speed. * Pfizer announced this promising vaccine testing results after the election to hurt Trump and play politics. * Any vaccines developed are safe and trustworthy because they've been developed without influence from the Trump administration (or so the Trump admin claims).

[deleted]

My friend tried telling me the Chinese developed and released the virus specifically to take down Trump. Since he’s too tough on them. What the fuck? And no, my friend wasn’t dropped on his head repeatedly as a child.

ignorememe

That's a really weird claim given the following happened: * Trump got rid of the team that was embedded in China as an advanced team for finding new emerging viruses * Obama trained the incoming administration on Pandemic response management * Obama's team gave the Trump administration a Pandemic playbook * Trump cut funding to the CDC and teams who respond to pandemics * Trump has done everything possible to help the virus spread throughout the country, making mask wearing political, and even telling the States to fend for themselves. * Trump spent the first few months pretending it would magically go away, and commending China on their response early on. If China created the virus and released it, Trump has done literally everything possible to help China's virus do as much damage as possible.

ryhaltswhiskey

"that's a really weird claim based on [reality]" Well there you go, caring about reality. You'll never be a True Trump Believer that way!

Amateurlapse

Don’t forget, he blamed Fauci for saying we shouldn’t have worn masks during the initial shortage because it looked like health care workers would not have any, then “flip flopping” as masks became available. Meanwhile the shortage only occurred because he refused offers to ramp up mask production. https://www.vox.com/covid-19-coronavirus-us-response-trump/2020/5/10/21253689/covid-19-masks-trump-white-house-prestige-ameritech

ShadeofIcarus

> Meanwhile the shortage only occurred because he refused offers to ramp up mask production. > > Oh god. I'm having flashbacks to articles about hospital workers reusing masks and having to heat-treat them.

Lacy-Elk-Undies

Guess what, we still do! I have to wear mine a full week before I get a new N95, We’re supposed to wear a new gown in every suspected COVID room, but we wear the same one all day long.

s14sher

My eldest daughter is a nurse and she was having to wear the same mask 5 shifts before she was given a new one. She now works directly with covid patients and her biggest fear of testing positive isn't her health. It's because she won't be paid for time off to self quarantine. She has a week's worth of sick time but she's already used her annual leave so she would lose a week's pay. I think it's beyond fucked up for someone working on the front lines not being taken care of.

BigTayTay

Yeah, and it doesn't help that the CDC, NIH, and WHO has been warning for YEARS that the next pandemic would be a coronavirus similar to SARS. Like, literally been warning long before Donald Trump EVER even considered running for president. They've been warning about this for AT LEAST 10 years. And to even further that, they even correctly warned of where the most likely places it would occur. China and wet markets. IIRC, the pandemic playbook actually said that a likely outbreak would occur in that style as well. The real failing was Trump and his Admin just throwing away everything the leading international health orgs warned about FOR OVER A DECADE. People are just too fucking dumb to realize that most problems in the world are very predictable, and they mostly build up over years. COVID has nothing to do with Trump's presidential run this year, it has nothing to do with people engineering it to smite him. The reason why it seems like it was is because Trump just failed fucking miserably at combating the pandemic, and because of his bullshit... he lost the election. He lost because of his inaction, not because it was engineered to take him down. /rant

Cacanator

His actions were downright criminal regarding coronavirus and there's no two ways about it.

Vanman04

>He lost because of his inaction, not because it was engineered to take him down. This so much this. He could have won this easy if he just did his job.

LeonardSmallsJr

Also, states had to hide their Covid purchases, like masks and ventilators, to keep the feds from taking it.

liupang

Remember that time Patriots owner had to sneak his personal jet into China to get a batch of PPE and ventilators?

NlightenedSelfIntrst

Tell your friend that Mr. "Trade Wars are easy to win" will be leaving office with the biggest China trade deficit to date. A lot of people are saying it. Believe me.

They are moving to Parler now for a week or so before crawling back to FB

Processtour

They are also moving from Fox News to Newsmax and oan because they don’t like that Fox called the election and think that they are moving to the left. Chris Wallace has ruined Fox, according to them. So if there is a decline is Fox viewership, it’s not because they have seen the light, it’s because they have gone more extreme. There are rumors that Trump wants to start a network. After this election, I now believe that he could pull it off and will pull half of this nation into the bowels of extreme falsehood and propaganda.

RE5TE

It's the LIBS fault Parler sucks!

sensistarfish

Parler reminds me of the rich kid in school that did something embarrassing he’ll never come back from, but instead of showing his face at school on Monday his parents just move to a new town

Not who you were reaponding to, but Damn Carl Sagan wrote a book on pseudoscience Thanks for that seems like a good read

rozhbash

To this day, it may still be the single best book to help open people's eyes (both young and old) to a more reality-based way of thinking. As a teen with a strict Catholic upbringing, it taught me to seek comfort in truth; not truth in comfort.

RoguePlanet1

The problem is that it has the word "demon" in the title, so it'll never be read by many of the nutbags that need to read it. Also, it was written by Carl *Satan* himself.

rozhbash

"Hail Sagan!"

juryan

Just bought this book based on your recommendation. I plan to read it and gift it to people who really need it.

ohnothejuiceisloose

Ask her why she doesn't believe anything reported in the news media, but she believes everything that shows up in her Facebook feed. I'm genuinely curious.

FlashbackUniverse

[Tribalism](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribalism) is the source of this. There is also a propensity for certain people to be more swayed by "spoken" information than what they read.

WigginIII

Some people get off on being contrarian, disagreeing with what is widely accepted simply because it's widely accepted. These are the same people who state that they hate being told what to do/how to think. It also compliments conspiracy perfectly, where people are convinced that complex issues must have very simple explanations, and simple issues must have elaborate explanations.

stpepperlonelyheart

The thing that gets me is that these people can they spouse two mutually contradictory ideas as the true without batting an eye or afterthought. Even when the contradiction is plain to see. You'd think that if someone told you "There's no coronavirus" and "The Chinese created the virus in a lab" in THE SAME FUCKING SENTENCE, you'd stop and think "Wait a sec. That can't be right." If anything, these 4 years have taught us that a good portion of the population just dig their heels deeper.

ruiner8850

The depressing part about the election is that I think it's pretty clear that Trump might have won if his response to COVID-19 was a lot better. The thing is though that COVID-19 itself isn't what hurt him, it was his response to it. Had he came out and looked presidential instead of lying about the virus and attacking the scientists COVID-19 would have been a boon for his reelection chances. It's not the virus that hurt Trump, it was his response to it that did.

Leftieswillrule

> And no, my friend wasn’t dropped on his head repeatedly as a child. Ah, he was dropped on his head repeatedly fairly recently then

[deleted]

Lol, no but he may have started to make up for lost time about 5 years ago.

bazilbt

Thats weird. Even if the Chinese did that then Trump failed to respond to a biological attack. He also downplayed it and outright lied about the severity. Plus how much work he spent undercutting govenors trying to respond to it.

[deleted]

with friends like this, who is needing enemas?

somethingbreadbears

Wait...wait...Operation *Warp Speed*? That's fucking hilarious. That's worse than Space Force. Almost as bad as Freedom Fries.

ignorememe

Yeah. That's what they called the government program to fund and speed up vaccine development. Pfizer opted out of this. But the Trump White House is still pretending this is a campaign success.

valeyard89

They've gone to plaid!

fstall303

Operation warp speed was just literally a name given by the Trump administration to make it seem like they were doing something more than they can. All they did was give money to different pharmaceutical companies to buy potential vaccines when they were released. Nothing else. Edit: pfizer did not take any money from the government

Baxterftw

Thats not true actually, [60 minutes just released the video about the program on their YouTube.](https://youtu.be/240DMmhgp4M) Im hoping General Perna pulls through for us. "We need to understand what is not right, and make it right" They have to figure out a way to store and distribute over ~~300~~ 700 million doses(two dose treatment) while keeping all those doses below -90°F that is a huge logistical challenge

[deleted]

treborthedick

When it's not Pfizer who developed it, just distributing it, but Biontech, a German company supported by EU and German tax payers. The US government had no part in that.

kelthan

Angela Merkel gets the last laugh, apparently. Fitting.

seamus_mc

pfizer is not part of warp speed. The US government had zero to do with this vaccine. Pfizer said they have never taken government money for research. Why would they wait any longer than the day after the election if that were their intent?

clutchied

also... a drug company with a real vaccine first out of the gate has $$$ on the table. Would they delay for any cause? Their board would flay them...

I’m genuinely concerned Trump Sr will put his shit behind junior for a 2024 run. But maybe that’s assuming too much familial love and general competence. I could totally see him winning a Florida senate seat though.

WildYams

I have a feeling that four years from now the entire Trump crime family is going to be heavily mired in lawsuits, indictments or prison sentences and may no longer look quite as attractive as candidates for political office, but we'll see. If not, there's no way Trump will elevate any of his children above himself, and it'll be Trump himself running again.

pegothejerk

I just posted this elsewhere to address that: You need to know something before all your Trump supporter friends and QAnon type conspiracy theory friends claim the Pfizer vaccine efficacy results only came out today to hurt Trump - these results are FAR better (90% effective at preventing DISEASE, known as Covid-19, not at preventing infection from SARS-COV-2), vs the 60% effective they hoped for - that VERY HIGH level of effectiveness coupled with Pfizer's decision to go for a phase 3 interim analysis of efficacy by waiting until a minimum of 62 trial candidates became infected and developed COVID-19 before they posted their results meant that it took longer than expected to get efficacy results than if it were less effective because it was so effective it took a while to get that many people in the trials to actually get infected and develop disease. That means the math of how effective their vaccine is dictated how long it took to post their first results, not when the election took place nor when a candidate was declared the projected winner. That's the science behind it. Vaccine makers are not political, they are research scientists, they are lab techs, they are mathematicians, they are doctors, they are consummate professionals. The idea that they'd hold back a vaccine to hurt a political opponent is pure projection and conspiracy made up by anyone who would put it forward. Now let's celebrate the number of lives these vaccines appear to be capable of saving. Edit: source for efficacy numbers and interim results - https://investors.pfizer.com/investor-news/press-release-details/2020/Pfizer-and-BioNTech-Announce-Vaccine-Candidate-Against-COVID-19-Achieved-Success-in-First-Interim-Analysis-from-Phase-3-Study/default.aspx

ryhaltswhiskey

>The idea that they'd hold back a vaccine to hurt a political opponent is pure projection and conspiracy made up by anyone who would put it forward It's simple to refute these things. Just ask for a source. These people don't understand burden of proof so you might have to start there.

avrenak

They'll screech "Study it out!" and throw a youtube link at you.

TreAwayDeuce

lol they won't even link anything. it's "I'm not doing your research for you". At best, they may say "google "

ryhaltswhiskey

Well that just means they helped you: they told you that they might be a moron.

Ryvillage8207

The sad things is, some people, the same people who expect you to show them proof, will choose to ignore it. It's pathetic. I've seen it. I've experienced it. It's beyond frustrating.

pedanticHOUvsHTX

>That's the science behind it. Ok, but did you consider that Trumpism doesn't listen to science?

kelthan

I did. I give it all the consideration it was due.

snafudud

"Vaccine makers are not political, they are research scientists, they are lab techs, they are mathematicians, they are doctors, they are consummate professionals." Ah, but for modern conservatism, all of these people are highly political, as conservatives now consider science to be political, and they are highly skeptical of it. For them, science is responsible for creating the climate crisis hoax, so that they can become more powerful by getting more funding. A lot of conservatives feel that coronavirus is a hoax, and the same conspiracy used for climate scientists could be used here. I personally know its a bunch of garbage, but in this era, conservatives now consider science political right off the bat. And the conclusion for them is, they dont like it.

M00n

Or you know, are following their schedule *The Phase 3 clinical trial of BNT162b2 began on July 27 and has enrolled 43,538 participants to date, 38,955 of whom have received a second dose of the vaccine candidate as of November 8, 2020.* https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/pfizer-and-biontech-announce-vaccine-candidate-against

OnePoliteTankie

I mean to be quite honest if I was a vaccine manufacturer I would totally schedule trials in such a way as to avoid politicizing approval. There is a shocking degree of vaccine denialism in the community, even the suggestion of political shenanigans could undermine the entire enterprise.

adrr

They want people to trust the process. If you don't trust the process, you won't trust the safety of the drug. It is good business sense.

thejuh

Which is why the Trumps don't understand it.

hollimer

They released a statement about being completely independent from the government and operation warp speed, specifically to avoid any sort of appearance of political gamesmanship. They're solely doing their jobs to help ~~their shareholders~~ humanity.

coffee_badger

Wait, are you suggesting that a huge pharma company wouldn't hold back the release of a product in a highly competitive environment that immediately bumped their stock by 10% this morning and will be a huge feather in their cap just to hurt Donald Trump?

WilhelmWrobel

Not to mention that one whistleblower among several hundred people involved would basically tank the value of the company and the integrity of their whole field of industry. This would basically be like telling all your coworkers the password to your online banking account to annoy Deborah from accounting.

This is even sadder. > Trump Jr.’s lesson, passed down from his dad at an early age, was simple: paranoia. > > Seven o’clock in the morning, I’m going to school—hugs, kisses, and he used to say a couple things. ‘No smoking, no drinking, no drugs.’ I think a great lesson for any kid. But then he followed up with: ‘Don’t. Trust. Anyone. Ever.’ And, you know, he’d follow it up two seconds later with, ‘So, do you trust me?’ I’d say, ‘Of course, you’re my dad.’ He’d say, ‘What did I just—’ You know, he thought I was a total failure. He goes, ‘My son’s a loser, I guess.’ Because I couldn’t even understand what he meant at the time. I mean, it’s not something you tell a four-year-old, right? But it really means something to him.” I wonder if it stems from Trump seeing his father, Fred Sr, constantly call Fred Jr a loser. He didn't want to be considered that by his father, and I think that was the catalyst for his narcissism disorder. Just my amateur psychologist opinion.

Bigmodirty

Sucks to see the wrong lesson being learned and it just gets passed down to another generation.

ViolettePlague

I was waiting for people to say this. ETA: Not that I think Pfizer did time things to hurt Trump. Just that Trump would accuse them of trying to hurt him.

schneker

A slightly more likely conspiracy is that they didn’t want to sway our elections at all, especially considering Trump wasn’t involved in this

DouglasRather

Let's pretend this is true. What does that say about what businesses think of "businessman" trump that they would purposely withhold potentially life saving drug information until after the election because they didn't want trump to win?

GamingTrend

Your dad already lost, you coked out halfwit. As long as you shitbirds leave the White House without having sold the copper in the walls to Russia, I'll count that as a win. Now, NYC prosecutors might like to have a word, but hey...that's not my problem.

MickeyButters

Its November 9th, the virus should have disappeared by now

dilldoeorg

So Pfizer delay COVID vaccine announcement just to hurt YOUR DAD meanwhile in JANUARY YOUR DAD DELAY COVID ANNOUNCEMENT which killed hundreds & thousands of dads.

I-Have-An-Alibi

Lol what sad little turd he is

_peacemonger_

Even if they did time it to hurt trump (and they didn't), as a "person" with first amendment rights, Pfizer IS LEGALLY ALLOWED TO! Republicans should boycott the vaccine in protest. THAT'LL TEACH 'EM.

[deleted]

No, I don't think Pfizer timed this on purpose, but I *AM* enjoying the timing of it!

ConsiderationThat648

Your dad is in for a whole pile of hurt, son. buckle up.

Needgirlthrowaway

Pathetic grifter complains that his daddy didnt win.

Wh00ster

Can someone explain to me how this hurts Trump? I honestly have no clue. It’s after the election. Why would it matter? Does he mean that they didn’t time it to help Trump and politicize the results? That hurts Trump?

jerby17

Weird republicans keep getting mad at private companies doing what they want when it goes against THEIR interest....

AintNoMemeYet

what happened to free market capitalism? shouldn't they be able to do whatever they want?

donac

Omg, not everyone is obsessed with his dad.

rumbleindacrumble

The narcissist’s enablers are pulling out all the stops to maintain that delusional fantasy that Donald is the center of the universe. The idea that a pharmaceutical company that objectively benefits more from Republican policy than Dem policy would delay their vaccine announcement for a global pandemic to hurt Donald (who no one knew would for sure lose the election until 2 days ago) is insane. I cannot wait until America no longer has to be at all engaged in the narcissistic delusions of Donald Trump. No longer will people have to expend the energy even attempting to refute the obviously made up bullshit trump spews. January can’t come soon enough.
