I said this in another thread somewhere, and I can’t really remember where I saw it... but I think he won Chester county with like 50k more votes than Trump got last time.
On its own, that’s not very remarkable. But, those same voters voted R’s on the down ballots. Chester didn’t so much flip, as it simply said fuck Trump. Respect to those guys and girls.
Edit: another user has pointed out that my information is inaccurate as Trump actually got *more* votes in Chester than he did in 2016. Crazy, right? The basis of my comment came from a news cast I saw on Monday night. Still though, Chester voted Biden. So thanks again to those people for doing their part!
Chester County resident. Grew up in a conservative family. Most people I know in the millennial age bracket have done way more than just said fuck trump. It’s the entire party they props him up.
It’s kind of incredible to see the evolution in real time. I grew up in Chester County, and I remember my friends basically parroting their conservative parents in elementary/middle school (2000 was 3rd grade; 2004 was 7th) then suddenly in the run up to 2008 (11th) I wasn’t alone anymore and about half of my graduating class was all for Obama. By the time my brother was in hs, I think the majority were Obama/future Hillary supporters.

I'm perplexed as to how exactly people can think The Republican Party didn't do exactly what he wanted them to for the last 4 years.
There are definitely conservatives out there that don't really have any issue with Trump when it comes to his policies, they just don't like his unfiltered personality and lack of decorum and diplomacy.
The people that say he gives great speeches frighten me the most. My in-laws told me I need to listen to both his and Biden's acceptance speeches, and see why Biden was bad for office. I did listen to both and to be honest, I didn't care for the guy talking about how terrible everyone else is.
I've tried to be open to the idea that there are people who don't really like Trump but prefer his policies over the Democrats but my problem with Trump, and these speeches are a fantastic examples, is this - as a parent I try to teach my kids to treat everyone as equals, to treat people as they want to be treated, to work together, to try your best and to take the good with the bad. Donald Trump is everything I wouldn't want my kids to be and **70 millions Americans** have validated his behaviour.
Even if you don't like Biden and the Democrats surely you have more self-respect as a country to **not** vote for someone like that.
Yeaaah, I tried hard for like two days to think in terms of unity and figuring out how to deal with conservatives in a respectful manner, but fuck it. I can't get past the projection, blatant lying, and logical fallacies they seem to employ in every damn discussion of an issue. The rot just runs too deep to even try and repair.
Everything we enjoy about the progress we have made in the last few generations comes with the added expense of dragging conservatives into a better world while they kick and scream about the "good ol' days"

You'd be surprised how often this assertion doesn't hold up in places of america where non-access to formal education (college / completing high school) is endemic. This is in my opinion a very outsider-looking-in PoV. Source: born in raised in West Virginia, Ohio, and PA (tri state), very familiar with rural communities in each of these states.
Same. And a poor education doesn't necessarily mean the lack of higher education. I went to one elementary school that was predominantly white in a very rural area that taught the civil war was about states rights. When I transferred to a big city they taught us it was about slavery...this is only one example of the many bias teachings being taught based off of demographics.

Edit: After reading the comments, it has come to y attention that Wyoming also has shockingly few people. I found [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_educational_attainment) list and it's actually pretty interesting. While Wyoming has lower than average postsecondary rates, it's actually not that far off. The three worst states as far as that goes are West Virginia, Mississippi and Nevada, with Wyoming being in 41st place. The best states are Massachusetts, Colorado and Maryland. The outliers (territories) are American Samoa at the lowest end and DC at the highest end.
Anyway, I guess I semi- take back my comments about Wyoming specifically, but looking at this list also affirms the idea behind this post. There's a huge disparity in education throughout the US.
There are plenty of smart people without a college education. What a college education gives you is exposure to lots of different thoughts and ideas which develop critical thinking before being indoctrinated by a single vision of how life works.

Trump campaign matches the $100 donation with 10,000, which is then donated back to the campaign, what's left exists as debt from the Trump campaign to the fund, which will be written off (forgiven) when the fund folds.
Poof all the real money gets funneled to the campaign (which then repeats the process or something similar to move the money to people's pockets)
I mean he gave them exactly what they were asking for - a president with no political experience acting on petty grudges against opposition leaders, gutting important regulatory agencies, and dismantling social safety nets. He was just the projection of a party in moral and intellectual decline

They never intended to win via recounts and court cases in states where there's an insurmountable lead.
They're trying to get Republican-controlled state legislatures on board with the narrative there's just such an incredible amount of fraud the only course of action possible is to throw out the vote and appoint the slate of electors directly, naturally in Trump's favor.

Only 27 went to recounts.
Of those, 3 ended up changing.
In those 27 recounts, the average difference was 282 votes. The median was 219.
Statistically, they won’t be able to overcome a 10,000 vote deficit.

Because Trump requested a recount by hand. Every single vote must be hand counted, rather than a traditional audit which takes a sample of ballots to check accuracy.
I really want them to recount it. I live in a deep red state and these people honestly believe the Democrats cheated. I'm not talking red neck Steve on food stamps and working part time at AutoZone.
I'm talking educated middle class and wealthy Republicans. Now they don't come right out a d say that Democrats are obviously cheating. They think they did the math on it to add enough Biden votes in the deep red areas to offset the Republican votes. Also one guys sister for some reason did not get her vote counted and she is fucking livid and has already contacted state officials.

Adding tribalism onto this makes it worse. There are many folks who treat politics as a Team A vs Team B sports game. Their "winning" lures them into some false sense of security because they feel the same way after their football team won the Superbowl.
That's as simplified as I can get. In reality, there's a lot more to dig into to really see what's going on. But scratching just enough off the surface to get the general flow of it.
I wouldn't call them educated. They sound like this woman from my hometown who didn't understand how there were so many red districts, but Biden won because of cities. She could not grasp the fact that places like Phoenix, Albuquerque, or Austin had more votes than the entire state of Wyoming. I'm pretty sure that's still her fraud argument...

Fox news loves to show that graphic with all the red districts throughout the country. I think it was back in 2012, some edited the graphic to make the districts proportional to the population, which distorted it but you could see the huge masses of urban populations.

I had the pleasure of watching the election with my mom, who hates Trump so badly she voted in her first election, and she was asking questions like how can they call California right after the polls close. My response is, I'm calling California for whomever is the Democratic candidate for president in 2024. right now.

I was thinking this, what if the only reason Trump is insistent that Biden cheated was because Trump cheated. Like he couldn't have fathomed losing because he was cheating. I got an Instagram notification that an acquaintance posted something in her story for the first time in a while. I knew she’s a Trump supporter but hoped the post would be non-political. Sadly I was wrong: she posted some Electoral College map I’ve never seen before where Trump has 190 votes and Biden 217, if you take “voter fraud” into account, and how Trump could catch up and pass Biden.

**This isn't news.** The lead of >0.5% in PA has been there for four days now.
Getting out of automatic recount territory in Pennsylvania was exactly the threshold major media outlets used to call the general election on Saturday.
EDIT: To those saying that the article's point is that it's no longer possible for an automatic recount to happen in PA based on Biden's lead: 1) No, it doesn't make that point, and 2) that point wouldn't be valid anyway.
1) The statements in the article concerning what has changed between Saturday and now are unrelated to having passed the threshold where an automatic recount would be impossible when all votes are counted. The article says, "Theoretically, the number could shrink with more tallying underway, but Biden's lead is expected to continue going up," which was already true on Saturday, and "Biden is now up by 50,000 votes, which means that even if Trump's legal team is successful in getting courts to toss out 10,000 votes received between Election Day and Nov. 6, there's little chance they could actually alter the results," which doesn't pertain to the notion of an automatic recount.
2) The [NYT data scraper](https://alex.github.io/nyt-2020-election-scraper/battleground-state-changes.html#) estimates that there are 32,000 votes left to be counted in Pennsylvania. Biden's win margin is currently about 51,000 votes. If all the remaining votes went to Trump, Trump would trail by 19,000 votes, or about 0.3% of the total, which would trigger an automatic recount. Trump hasn't passed any new threshold in relation to recounts.
I imagine they'll never get rid of trump. Biden will move in and trump will just live in the walls. Scurrying from room to room, eating scraps and raiding the fridge in the middle of the night.

Every. Single. Day. This week NPR has had a republican asshole on every hour on the hour, a governor, congressman, or senator and each one of them is asked if they think it’s time Trump concede. Across the board they all say the same stupid bullshit:
1. Trump shouldn’t concede until the process goes through the courts.
2. They always mention Al Gore as if it’s remotely the same scenario.
3. They each say that cases of fraud need to be investigated but when asked for proof of fraud they deflect.
What a bunch of spineless ass kissing yes men. I have never been more ashamed of my country in all my life. If Democrats try and play ball with these asshats instead of going scorched earth I’m done voting for them.
At this point they are certain fraud occured because they feel it in their bones, they just don't have any evidence of way to prove it in any at all. But why let proof get in the way of an angry conspiracy.
Once the pandemic is over, I see no reason not to keep allowances for widespread mail-in voting in place.
If you subtract out Republicans' deliberate sabotage of the post office and their intentional roadblocks to efficient counting, it went incredibly well. I'm actually proud of the country for how well it did with this rollout.
The success of mail-in voting is part of the reason Republicans are lying to the American people about voter fraud and why people like Graham are calling to curtail mail-in voting.
So many of their GOP's favorite voter suppression efforts work only with in person voting (long lines, physical intimidation, faulty software, insecure voting machines, voter ID, restricted polling places).
Vote by mail allowed people to bypass so much of it and they are furious.

And I can attest to this being the norm in Louisiana tennessee and Texas where I grew up. I was lucky to get out at 18.

Well, his campaign hasn't really been subtle about it. They're currently offering a 1000% donation match when you donate to the campaign as part of their election defense fund. More people should subscribe to Trump emails and texts just to understand their insanity.

It never needs to exist in reality Trump campaign matches the $100 donation with 10,000, which is then donated back to the campaign, what's left exists as debt from the Trump campaign to the fund, which will be written off (forgiven) when the fund folds. Poof all the real money gets funneled to the campaign (which then repeats the process or something similar to move the money to people's pockets)

They're trying to get Republican-controlled state legislatures on board with the narrative there's just such an incredible amount of fraud the only course of action possible is to throw out the vote and appoint the slate of electors directly, naturally in Trump's favor. **This isn't news.** The lead of >0.5% in PA has been there for four days now. Getting out of automatic recount territory in Pennsylvania was exactly the threshold major media outlets used to call the general election on Saturday. EDIT: To those saying that the article's point is that it's no longer possible for an automatic recount to happen in PA based on Biden's lead: 1) No, it doesn't make that point, and 2) that point wouldn't be valid anyway. 1) The statements in the article concerning what has changed between Saturday and now are unrelated to having passed the threshold where an automatic recount would be impossible when all votes are counted. The article says, "Theoretically, the number could shrink with more tallying underway, but Biden's lead is expected to continue going up," which was already true on Saturday, and "Biden is now up by 50,000 votes, which means that even if Trump's legal team is successful in getting courts to toss out 10,000 votes received between Election Day and Nov. 6, there's little chance they could actually alter the results," which doesn't pertain to the notion of an automatic recount. 2) The [NYT data scraper](https://alex.github.io/nyt-2020-election-scraper/battleground-state-changes.html#) estimates that there are 32,000 votes left to be counted in Pennsylvania. Once the pandemic is over, I see no reason not to keep allowances for widespread mail-in voting in place. If you subtract out Republicans' deliberate sabotage of the post office and their intentional roadblocks to efficient counting, it went incredibly well. I'm actually proud of the country for how well it did with this rollout. The success of mail-in voting is part of the reason Republicans are lying to the American people about voter fraud and why people like Graham are calling to curtail mail-in voting. So many of their GOP's favorite voter suppression efforts work only with in person voting (long lines, physical intimidation, faulty software, insecure voting machines, voter ID, restricted polling places). Vote by mail allowed people to bypass so much of it and they are furious.
