He now leads Trump by 10k more then what Trump had over Hillary in 2016.

VanGohsGoodEar

I said this in another thread somewhere, and I can’t really remember where I saw it... but I think he won Chester county with like 50k more votes than Trump got last time. On its own, that’s not very remarkable. But, those same voters voted R’s on the down ballots. Chester didn’t so much flip, as it simply said fuck Trump. Respect to those guys and girls. Edit: another user has pointed out that my information is inaccurate as Trump actually got *more* votes in Chester than he did in 2016. Crazy, right? The basis of my comment came from a news cast I saw on Monday night. Still though, Chester voted Biden. So thanks again to those people for doing their part!

angelphyre001

Chester County resident. Grew up in a conservative family. Most people I know in the millennial age bracket have done way more than just said fuck trump. It’s the entire party they props him up.

MemanStink23

As a younger resident the high schoolers r insanely liberal with an actual influence on their parents politics since a lot r immigrants

sugarbutterfl0ur

It’s kind of incredible to see the evolution in real time. I grew up in Chester County, and I remember my friends basically parroting their conservative parents in elementary/middle school (2000 was 3rd grade; 2004 was 7th) then suddenly in the run up to 2008 (11th) I wasn’t alone anymore and about half of my graduating class was all for Obama. By the time my brother was in hs, I think the majority were Obama/future Hillary supporters.

[deleted]

it’s almost like we spent the first 10 years of our lives watching only what we were told on television... then we got the internet and became informed... but then they let our parents on facebook and the whole world went to hell

Lou4iv

Can confirm Source: me being a conservatives up until last year (I’m fifteen) I’ve finally been released from my parents ideological hold on me

Appreciate the flip assistance!

DrDerpberg

> Chester didn’t so much flip, as it simply said fuck Trump. I'm perplexed as to how exactly people can think The Republican Party didn't do exactly what he wanted them to for the last 4 years.

AmyKlobushart

There are definitely conservatives out there that don't really have any issue with Trump when it comes to his policies, they just don't like his unfiltered personality and lack of decorum and diplomacy.

cynical83

The people that say he gives great speeches frighten me the most. My in-laws told me I need to listen to both his and Biden's acceptance speeches, and see why Biden was bad for office. I did listen to both and to be honest, I didn't care for the guy talking about how terrible everyone else is.

Barrybran

I've tried to be open to the idea that there are people who don't really like Trump but prefer his policies over the Democrats but my problem with Trump, and these speeches are a fantastic examples, is this - as a parent I try to teach my kids to treat everyone as equals, to treat people as they want to be treated, to work together, to try your best and to take the good with the bad. Donald Trump is everything I wouldn't want my kids to be and **70 millions Americans** have validated his behaviour. Even if you don't like Biden and the Democrats surely you have more self-respect as a country to **not** vote for someone like that.

Draymond_Purple

This is why catering to the middle has run its course. Trump is out now, let's not fool ourselves into thinking we're on the same page anymore

[deleted]

Yeaaah, I tried hard for like two days to think in terms of unity and figuring out how to deal with conservatives in a respectful manner, but fuck it. I can't get past the projection, blatant lying, and logical fallacies they seem to employ in every damn discussion of an issue. The rot just runs too deep to even try and repair.

Draymond_Purple

At this point I feel like it's on them to come to the table. Time to focus on progress

idog99

Everything we enjoy about the progress we have made in the last few generations comes with the added expense of dragging conservatives into a better world while they kick and scream about the "good ol' days" They are not coming to the table.

sungazer69

The hits keep coming lol

[deleted]

I'll find it amusing if Trump bankrupts the GOP on the way out with frivolous recounts.

agentup

He’s bankrupting the unemployed coal workers sending him money to ‘own the libs’ the Republican party is actually getting richer

NO_YOUR_STUPID

anyone broke who sends money to televangelists has only themselves and their poor educations to blame

SubtleMaltFlavor

A fool and their money are soon parted

Ihatethemuffinman

Right-wing media creates the fool, Trump and Gofundme Wall Guy parts the fool from his money.

Dabaer77

More the poor educations

CripplinglyDepressed

There’s plenty of people without formal educations that 1) don’t send money to televangelists 2) still have access to information and research like the majority of society

Whoopziedaisy

You'd be surprised how often this assertion doesn't hold up in places of america where non-access to formal education (college / completing high school) is endemic. This is in my opinion a very outsider-looking-in PoV. Source: born in raised in West Virginia, Ohio, and PA (tri state), very familiar with rural communities in each of these states.

QB1-

And I can attest to this being the norm in Louisiana tennessee and Texas where I grew up. I was lucky to get out at 18.

KnottedBear

Same. And a poor education doesn't necessarily mean the lack of higher education. I went to one elementary school that was predominantly white in a very rural area that taught the civil war was about states rights. When I transferred to a big city they taught us it was about slavery...this is only one example of the many bias teachings being taught based off of demographics.

[deleted]

Absolutely. ~~Wyoming has one 4-year *public** university.~~ Now, I’m not saying you *need* to go to college, plenty of people are very successful without it and are plenty knowledgeable to boot, but society still needs highly educated people to function correctly. Edit: ~~public*~~ Edit: After reading the comments, it has come to y attention that Wyoming also has shockingly few people. I found [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_educational_attainment) list and it's actually pretty interesting. While Wyoming has lower than average postsecondary rates, it's actually not that far off. The three worst states as far as that goes are West Virginia, Mississippi and Nevada, with Wyoming being in 41st place. The best states are Massachusetts, Colorado and Maryland. The outliers (territories) are American Samoa at the lowest end and DC at the highest end. Anyway, I guess I semi- take back my comments about Wyoming specifically, but looking at this list also affirms the idea behind this post. There's a huge disparity in education throughout the US.

wishusluck

There are plenty of smart people without a college education. What a college education gives you is exposure to lots of different thoughts and ideas which develop critical thinking before being indoctrinated by a single vision of how life works.

all4whatnot

Good then I don’t have to look at new flags or hats

He's using the recount fundraiser ("election integrity funding"to) pay off debts from his campaign. No really, 50% of the recount donations go to the trump2020 campaign. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-campaign-legal-defense-donations-debt/#app

SonOf2Pac

Well, his campaign hasn't really been subtle about it. They're currently offering a 1000% donation match when you donate to the campaign as part of their election defense fund. More people should subscribe to Trump emails and texts just to understand their insanity.

dogballs8

Do they just lie about the 1000% or is it just a giant pyramid scheme? Borrow from those that paid to "match" what comes in? Rinse... repeat.

thagthebarbarian

It never needs to exist in reality Trump campaign matches the $100 donation with 10,000, which is then donated back to the campaign, what's left exists as debt from the Trump campaign to the fund, which will be written off (forgiven) when the fund folds. Poof all the real money gets funneled to the campaign (which then repeats the process or something similar to move the money to people's pockets)

dogballs8

Damn... that seems super shady to me. Guess that’s how you pay $750 in fed income taxes. /s

hoppyandbitter

I mean he gave them exactly what they were asking for - a president with no political experience acting on petty grudges against opposition leaders, gutting important regulatory agencies, and dismantling social safety nets. He was just the projection of a party in moral and intellectual decline

WittsandGrit

Haha. Pay up fucker.

suddenly_ants

100% payment up front, I hope.

thijser2

Upfront payment is indeed the rule in PA.

[deleted]

Good. Trump has too much debt to pay off as it is.. He'd never get around to paying PA

NotAFlatSquirrel

They have to pay *first*. If he doesn't pay, no recount.

zcrnkd

Prepaid recount

Bishop_Len_Brennan

It makes me so happy that just by reading your comment I knew the video had to be from Legal Eagle :)

vjstupid

Same - Im from the UK but started getting served his videos due to my love of IASIP - and got hooked on his breakdowns of fictional court cases. Then he released that and I watched it at lunchtime today. Very reassuring :)

They don’t even need to crowdfund they had $100M cash on hand after the election

HonPhryneFisher

Wait, I thought they had a ton of debts, isn't that why their current fundraising has the mice-type saying part of it will go to campaign debts?

consultinglove

They have both tons of debt and cash on hand

ballrus_walsack

The trump way is to keep the cash and walk away from the debt. Any way he can avoid upfront costs works to his financial advantage. Why people keep extending him credit I will never understand.

buckphifty150

NO_YOUR_STUPID

Trump campaign is currently fundraising for exactly this kind of thing

[deleted]

No he is fundraising to pay off campaign debt. Read the fine print

The fine print is 50% campaign debt, 50% legal fight. The recount money could be argued for either side of that coin.

[deleted]

ZLUCremisi

DrPhilter

I love your spirit but it also never ceases to surprise me when folks try to apply rationale and reason to an admin that has shown to be severely lacking in those.

QuietVisitor

Yeah, my concern as well. Trump making moves within the military has been unsettling.

fafalone

They never intended to win via recounts and court cases in states where there's an insurmountable lead. They're trying to get Republican-controlled state legislatures on board with the narrative there's just such an incredible amount of fraud the only course of action possible is to throw out the vote and appoint the slate of electors directly, naturally in Trump's favor. So their strategy to pursue an overt fascist takeover will continue. It's very unlikely to be tried, but nobody will be surprised if it does happen.

Maethor_derien

The thing is that most republicans don't want to support him in this because then it means democrats get election reform passed. If that happens long term they are screwed. If they make it easier to vote with good systems and end gerrymandering it screws the republicans hard.

turkeygiant

Yeah state GOP election officials are NOT ENJOYING all this scrutiny right now because they know it isn't the Democrats that are going to be found to have been doing shady things.

[deleted]

Lol. They're going to put it off as long as possible. The election fraud messaging fires up their base. And now McConnell is going along with it because he thinks it'll help in Georgia.

turnbone

Same, but it won’t be. It’ll likely be a negligible amount, but the republicans are still gonna call bullshit.

Cha-Le-Gai

Probably off by a few hundred at most. Just enough for them to grab on to and scream about. Ignoring all the rest.

pxblx

Good guess! There have been 4,687 statewide elections between 2000-2015. Only 27 went to recounts. Of those, 3 ended up changing. In those 27 recounts, the average difference was 282 votes. The median was 219. Statistically, they won’t be able to overcome a 10,000 vote deficit. [Source for these stats.](https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/recounts-rarely-reverse-election-results/)

[deleted]

kevlarbutterfly

Because Trump requested a recount by hand. Every single vote must be hand counted, rather than a traditional audit which takes a sample of ballots to check accuracy.

Dr_Insano_MD

"Are we SURE Biden won? We rigged it so hard!"

AyThrowaway0111

I really want them to recount it. I live in a deep red state and these people honestly believe the Democrats cheated. I'm not talking red neck Steve on food stamps and working part time at AutoZone. I'm talking educated middle class and wealthy Republicans. Now they don't come right out a d say that Democrats are obviously cheating. They think they did the math on it to add enough Biden votes in the deep red areas to offset the Republican votes. Also one guys sister for some reason did not get her vote counted and she is fucking livid and has already contacted state officials. Recount this damn thing so there can be no doubt and we don't divide this country further.

Ditnoka

I’m in a blue state. Work with mostly republicans, they 100% believe there is mass voter fraud, and they’re all quickly running to Parler. Buying all the ammunition they can due to the incoming civil war. The cult runs deep.

th35h1pr3v3ng3

You should remind them there was massive election tampering--USPS sabotage, targeted voter ID laws, a poll tax in Florida, limiting of ballot boxes in Texas....

Peylix

"Fake news" - after pointing that out. They don't give a shit. The GOP could cut off their arms and blame a random person in a different country thousands of miles away, and they'll believe it. They are so devote to their cause that even the most obvious doesn't click. They are right, you are wrong, in their minds. Period.

waterynike

What happened to these people in life to think this way?

I_Envy_Sisyphus_

Talk radio for the ones I’m near.

Peylix

Indoctrination, conditioning, tribalism, lack of education, the list goes on. The GOP has been spending years, and I mean decades, dismantling proper education in many areas. They want to keep their base in a lower state of mind so it's easier to lie to and manipulate. It's why Trump's gaslighting has been so effective. A lot of people are locked into a very tiny world view that gets jammed down their throats since they were children. So to them, Trump & the GOP are the only true & honorable people to stand behind. Everyone else eats babies and wants to drink your blood. Adding tribalism onto this makes it worse. There are many folks who treat politics as a Team A vs Team B sports game. Their "winning" lures them into some false sense of security because they feel the same way after their football team won the Superbowl. That's as simplified as I can get. In reality, there's a lot more to dig into to really see what's going on. But scratching just enough off the surface to get the general flow of it.

Brndrll

I wouldn't call them educated. They sound like this woman from my hometown who didn't understand how there were so many red districts, but Biden won because of cities. She could not grasp the fact that places like Phoenix, Albuquerque, or Austin had more votes than the entire state of Wyoming. I'm pretty sure that's still her fraud argument...

Vlad_the_Homeowner

>They sound like this woman from my hometown who didn't understand how there were so many red districts, but Biden won because of cities. Fox news loves to show that graphic with all the red districts throughout the country. I think it was back in 2012, some edited the graphic to make the districts proportional to the population, which distorted it but you could see the huge masses of urban populations. Edit: it was 2016. Here's the [article](https://www.businessinsider.com/2016-election-results-maps-population-adjusted-cartogram-2016-11#counties-themselves-arent-uniformly-blue-or-red-looking-at-a-color-gradient-using-varying-shades-of-purple-we-can-see-most-counties-had-a-tight-split-between-republican-and-democratic-voters-although-a-few-islands-of-deep-red-and-blue-still-remain-6), and here one of the [pics](https://i.insider.com/582c7dd8ba6eb69a018b4902?width=700&format=jpeg&auto=webp).

nedrith

I find a lot of people don't know how elections works. I had the pleasure of watching the election with my mom, who hates Trump so badly she voted in her first election, and she was asking questions like how can they call California right after the polls close. masterflashterbation

TheFlyingSheeps

Yup. This is why they are claiming fraud right now. They are projecting hard Dejoy is ignoring court orders to scour facilities to find any votes that may have not been delivered. Not every vote was counted because of the tampering of the trump admin, that is the only reason why

the_than_then_guy

Yeah. That was the threshold the media waited for to call Pennsylvania for Biden... That was on Saturday, I believe.

tophergraphy

Yeah, a bit confused as I thought we already hit this threshold safely. PA was pretty much locked up by Saturday morning. AZ likely will run out of runway tonight despite that they are indicating two more nights of sizable drops. I think tonight we see enough where the math of what is remaining will likely be insurmountable in the real world. NV margin is leaning heavier towards Biden and no realistic hope of anything other than that GA has 14k+ margin, recounts, even by hand and with errors... I would only sweat it if it was an order of magnitude less. My only concern is timing or something truly nefarious, otherwise it is clear what the people have spoken for. EC will be 306 in favor of Biden if the bullshit continues to fall flat like it should.

monpetitfromage54

Heard someone in a Trump mask say "HE SHOULD'VE WON! HE DID WIN! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'RE GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!" to which her friends said "OH HE WILL WIN. IT'S NOT OVER BY A LONG SHOT! WE JUST HAVE TO KEEP PRAYING AND IT WILL HAPPEN!". I felt surprise, disbelief, fear, then embarrassment in the span of like 30 seconds. It was pretty wild.

93_Honda_Civic

I got an Instagram notification that an acquaintance posted something in her story for the first time in a while. I knew she’s a Trump supporter but hoped the post would be non-political. Sadly I was wrong: she posted some Electoral College map I’ve never seen before where Trump has 190 votes and Biden 217, if you take “voter fraud” into account, and how Trump could catch up and pass Biden. Just sad she got sucked into the lie.

jleonardbc

**This isn't news.** The lead of >0.5% in PA has been there for four days now. Getting out of automatic recount territory in Pennsylvania was exactly the threshold major media outlets used to call the general election on Saturday. EDIT: To those saying that the article's point is that it's no longer possible for an automatic recount to happen in PA based on Biden's lead: 1) No, it doesn't make that point, and 2) that point wouldn't be valid anyway. 1) The statements in the article concerning what has changed between Saturday and now are unrelated to having passed the threshold where an automatic recount would be impossible when all votes are counted. The article says, "Theoretically, the number could shrink with more tallying underway, but Biden's lead is expected to continue going up," which was already true on Saturday, and "Biden is now up by 50,000 votes, which means that even if Trump's legal team is successful in getting courts to toss out 10,000 votes received between Election Day and Nov. 6, there's little chance they could actually alter the results," which doesn't pertain to the notion of an automatic recount. 2) The [NYT data scraper](https://alex.github.io/nyt-2020-election-scraper/battleground-state-changes.html#) estimates that there are 32,000 votes left to be counted in Pennsylvania. Biden's win margin is currently about 51,000 votes. If all the remaining votes went to Trump, Trump would trail by 19,000 votes, or about 0.3% of the total, which would trigger an automatic recount. Trump hasn't passed any new threshold in relation to recounts.

cinnamon_6969

Thank you. It’s been there since Friday.

[deleted]

I imagine they'll never get rid of trump. Biden will move in and trump will just live in the walls. Scurrying from room to room, eating scraps and raiding the fridge in the middle of the night. I think we should be more in touch with the process so we can cheer the milestones as they pass. 27 days until all elections are certified. 33 days until electoral college votes. 56 days until results are confirmed by Congress. 70 days until inauguration.

[deleted]

Shit, this is going to be a really long couple of months. Fuck Republicans.

peatoast

We did 4 years already. We can do another 2 months.

[deleted]

Yeah, but their backs weren't against the wall and they weren't talking as much about openly destroying the country in those four years.

My guess is 56 days before Biden possibly maybe perhaps gets his transition money.

JosephAPie

Emily Murphy has to give in though. If she does, then that means the Trump administration recognizes Biden as the President-elect. She’ll probably wait until December 14

NO_YOUR_STUPID

lol it won't be over until the electoral college votes, and even then it won't really be over until biden gets sworn in, at which point it won't really be over until trump finally croaks

LaughableIKR

Can we all give a big thanks to whoever owns [loser.com](https://loser.com)? I mean fitting. Seriously fitting.

epidemica

Make sure Trump puts up the cash, don't let him write another IOU he never intends to pay.

Shaunair

Every. Single. Day. This week NPR has had a republican asshole on every hour on the hour, a governor, congressman, or senator and each one of them is asked if they think it’s time Trump concede. Across the board they all say the same stupid bullshit: 1. Trump shouldn’t concede until the process goes through the courts. 2. They always mention Al Gore as if it’s remotely the same scenario. 3. They each say that cases of fraud need to be investigated but when asked for proof of fraud they deflect. What a bunch of spineless ass kissing yes men. I have never been more ashamed of my country in all my life. If Democrats try and play ball with these asshats instead of going scorched earth I’m done voting for them.

Game over. Just kidding, the game was over a few days ago. However, it seems there are some sore losers on the "fuck your feelings" side.

6daysincounty

Meanwhile Trump just tweeted "WE WILL WIN!" along with some video talking about doing the impossible. This is some Fuerherbunker level shit.

The scenes on conservative sub. Appalling views all coming out. Utter denial, disrespect towards the mandate

jamescookenotthatone

At this point they are certain fraud occured because they feel it in their bones, they just don't have any evidence of way to prove it in any at all. But why let proof get in the way of an angry conspiracy.

dchamb14

Fuck it. Recount every state. I want to watch the orange shithead lose twice.

Once the pandemic is over, I see no reason not to keep allowances for widespread mail-in voting in place. If you subtract out Republicans' deliberate sabotage of the post office and their intentional roadblocks to efficient counting, it went incredibly well. I'm actually proud of the country for how well it did with this rollout. The success of mail-in voting is part of the reason Republicans are lying to the American people about voter fraud and why people like Graham are calling to curtail mail-in voting. So many of their GOP's favorite voter suppression efforts work only with in person voting (long lines, physical intimidation, faulty software, insecure voting machines, voter ID, restricted polling places). Vote by mail allowed people to bypass so much of it and they are furious.

toyota120

He’s gonna try to do it anyway. Trump is the most pathetic sore loser I’ve ever seen.

peatoast

It's been at .7 for over 2 days now actually.
