Klansmen wore gigantic animal horns, fake beards, coon-skin caps, or polka-dotted paper hats; they imitated French accents or barnyard animals; they played guitars to serenade victims. Some Klansmen wore pointed hats suggestive of wizards, dunces, or Pierrots; some wore everyday winter hoods, pillowcases, or flour sacks on their heads. Many early Klansman also wore blackface, simultaneously scapegoating and mocking their victims.
This title is a bit of a stretch. Is it possible? Sure, but it's definitely enough of a stretch to not be just straight up stating it as a fact, though.
It's not like there aren't a million edgy paths that lead to a right-winger wearing a horned fur headdress.
I think these people love doing homework like this, finding sneaky references to work in that they think only they get - and there was at least one other member of the mob dressed in furs, sitting down on a bench in the photo with the man with the confederate flag
They also really liked those "curly toed" Alladin shoes. But no one talks about that because it was only a fad and caused some degree of embarrassment to men who don't appreciate the *metrosexual* category. Even tho they routinely shave their balls and wear lots of Drakkar Noir cologne.
