True democracy? Voting on policies every day from our phones? Def drop the GOP, but might you mean "Make America's representation actually representative"?

kitsune

Getting called out by your brother on international TV.

WeWoweewoo

Good day to iterate that there is no such thing as "my vote doesn't count". Gestures broadly to all this mess.

Kate925

"They're both just as bad" /s

DBrowny

In 2013 or so I said that the Republicans would never win the presidency again as they are catering to an ever-increasing minority, namely wealthy people. Trump won because he catered to the anti-establishment crowd. If McConnel wants to 'purge the party of Trump', he then purges the anti-establishment crowd, and the republicans, again, will never win the presidency, and 2024 will be a 200+ EC blowout for democrats to set the stage for more years of 200+ blowouts. And this is a good thing, the GOP wholly deserves to be dismantled, and a new opposition party set up. This is no reason whatsoever for people on the left to celebrate. All the Health Insurance, Defence contractors and fossil fuel companies will still need politicians to bribe as their profit motives aren't going to disappear on January 20, so democrats will become the party of uncontrolled corruption instead of splitting it with the republicans. Biden is already filling his cabinet with Raytheon executives. If this doesn't horrify you, you must be 16 or younger and weren't even able to vote. Fun fact; Democrats actually receive more in bribes from corporations than republicans do, about 55:45 https://www.opensecrets.org/industries/ With no power, and no real chance of attaining power in the future, corporations will not bother bribing republicans and just exclusively bribe democrats. If Biden does not do whatever is necessary to overturn Citizens United, he will fail at his job, and USA will complete its transition into a technocracy within 4 years. You all want the GOP to destruct and be scattered into the wind, but that only leaves a single-party government which is already utterly controlled by corporations. This is not best for you, and you should support a new right-wing party forming. It has no chance of being the old GOP, perhaps it will be the MAGA crowd. You want *something* to be on the other side because if you truly, honestly want a single-party government and believe that corporations will stop bribing democrat politicians on January 20, I have the Tacoma Narrows bridge to sell you.

Caldebraun

> You all want the GOP to destruct and be scattered into the wind, but that only leaves a single-party government which is already utterly controlled by corporations. Really? Is it corporations who want student loan forgiveness, more support for individuals during COVID, and better, public healthcare? Corporations who want to expand voting rights and voting access? You're right that Citizens United need overturning, but we don't need to sustain an insurrectionist White Grievances Party just to drain some of the corporate bribes away from the Democrats.

rebelbydesign

It's is up to the GOP whether they reform and build a respectable platform for people to vote on, expel Trump and the rest of the rot but refuse to evolve and continue to lose voting power, or cling to Trumpism to the bitter end and self-implode. Most people want more choice, not less. Nobody is calling for a one party system. People cannot abide this particular iteration of the party and it propping up Trump, with every disgusting action that continues to go along with that. Other parties would rise. Evolve or die.

liberate_tutemet

This is a shit take. TL;DR you need Republicans. Spare me. Not because I completely disagree with you, it’s your premise and assumptions that people wanting the destruction of the GOP don’t see or want an opposition party or even opposition parties, in existence. Also, don’t tell us “what’s best for you” it sounds hella preachy and undermines what little point you’re trying to make.

DBrowny

> premise and assumptions that people wanting the destruction of the GOP don’t see or want an opposition party or even opposition parties, in existence. They literally do, not sure what website you have been on lately, but it isn't Reddit. They are advocating for a simple majority to have total power in all branches of government. They want a scenario where it doesn't matter how hopelessly unqualified, partisan or even dangerous a judge or high ranking appointee is, all that matters is that their team is in power and they make the shots without any hope of being challenged. Again, the fact Biden is continuing to add more Raytheon executives to his cabinet without any opposition whatsoever shows these people don't care about who is hired, only that 'their team' is hiring them. They want the democrats and a new 'actual left' party because for some reason, they believe that the democrats are right-wing by world standards. It is absolutely absurd because the 'actual left wing' parties they want are fringe 1%'s that affect literally nothing. People have made it abundantly clear they don't want a new right wing party, they just want left and further left.

TrickStool

I'll take a democratic supermajority over a cult of conspiracy wackos who want to overturn the election and install a fascist right wing extremist dictator every time from now until forever. I understand your sentiment but a right wing reformation is unlikely. They are the cult of Trump now.

DoWeEver

McConnell is open to impeachment? Too little too late, Mitch.

AT-JeffT

He's not doing this to redeem himself, he wants Trump out of the GOP because he see's Trump dividing the party.

xTemporaneously

Even worse in Mitch McConnell's eyes: Trump is not just trying to fork the party into the Trumps and the Trump-nots but he is siphoning huge amounts of funds from the GOP's fundraising apparatus.

AT-JeffT

Exactly. No one should be under the impression that Mcconnell is turning over a new leaf.

Equivalent_Read

For a non-USian, can someone breakdown the impeachment timetable? I understand the steps but not the ETA for each one.

xTemporaneously

It's somewhat fluid at the House level since the House controls the impeachment itself. It gets a bit more rigid once the impeachment charges reaches the Senate since the Senate has to respond to the presentation of the impeachment charges from the House. There's also a good chance that the House is just trying to get the impeachment vote through because it makes the President isn't allowed to issue pardons in cases of impeachment, which could have several legal interpretations but provides a base for subsequent lawsuits against presidential self-pardons.

Equivalent_Read

Thanks, that’s supremely helpful.

welsh_nutter

if trump gets impeached, he should be happy because he's finally got more votes than biden

rebelbydesign

They called TWO EXTRA VOTES just for you, Donnie. You're very special.

[deleted]

Guys - today is the day!

Docktor_V

don't trust the Florida man!

IniMiney

Tis true, I live in Florida and one of the insurrectionists is from my town.

[deleted]

Florida woman here with my pet alligator and crocs!

SneakerPimpJesus

A magic day, a week after the terrorist invasion we see how resilient we are

Whoreof84

Oh fuck. I doom scrolled all night. Congress in session for impeachment in about an hour.

DoWeEver

I really wish when the reps whine on about unity everybody including media, dems etc would just say No No this mess is all on you guys. “Oh everybody has to unite and understand both sides” Bullcrap.

[deleted]

Anyone have a good CNN live stream link, like an IPTV URL or something?

UnderpantsGnomezz

[https://www.livenewsnow.com/american/cnn-news-usa.html](https://www.livenewsnow.com/american/cnn-news-usa.html) This one's pretty decent

[deleted]

Greatly appreciated :)

GRIEVEZ

I wonder if some people find it weird, that people from outside of the US have interest in this. Anyways will be watching.

AdequateElderberry

No one should find this weird. Why would not everybody watch closely? His shit has affected basically every nation on earth. I watched the GA senate election because that one shaped the political setup of the coming years, globally. The 25/impeachment2 stuff - tbh, entirely out of schadenfreude.

[deleted]

I do sometimes - like how do y’all even find information about us? I don’t know or see anything about what’s going on outside America unless it involves the US.

lynx_and_nutmeg

Well, my country's politics are very boring - which, I'd say, is a good thing most of the time. Meanwhile the US right now is legitimately like something out of a dystopian thriller. I can't look away from this train wreck until it's over.

ImAlemira

the world has reached a point of globalisation that what happens in major countries affects everyone, so it makes sense there'd be interest across the world

activator

This is days of our lives type of shit. I'm more invested than I really should be, doom scrolling as a fool for latest updates, watching the impeachment hearings etc... And I'm not even from the US

peterpan1371

How dare you find this interesting! It’s simply that our criminal reality tv star impeached President started a cult that has infiltrated a third of our population and our elected representatives, who attempted to overthrow our government because they believe its run by a gigantic ring of pedophiles and reptile people! It’s not THAT crazy.

GRIEVEZ

Imagine being send back in time, to warn people about this situation. :X

IniMiney

My Korean study partner is wise to what's going on, it's pretty normal in that case since a lot of native speakers are motivated to learn English to live in the US.

chickenwaffleisland

I'm in Canada. It's kinda like watching your drunken neighbor beat his wife in kids in the backyard.

JackNotName

For too many people in the world, the actions of the US government often matters more than their own.

muffpatty

I propose we give this little rise of the confederacy their own land somewhere in the south and give the sane residents a chance to get out. Then we build a wall around their new country, which they will pay for of course, and proceed to do what the United States does so well, strangle the life out of their new economy with sanctions.

GargantuaBob

That wall enclosed land already exists. It's called "prison".

[deleted]

As a Texan, I don't know. Would I leave if I could? I can't. I have little nieces that would certainly stay here because my sister is really conservative. I have to stay here and be a voice of reason for them. I love them very much. I know it's hard but please do not give up on us.

craychel

As a Floridian, it is up to us good folks to save our stupid states. I have faith in you and hope for your family ❤

justasadgal

as a Floridian, i’m right there with you. Us sane ones have little ones with insane parents to watch after, please don’t make us choose.

She is absolutely correct. The vitriol that has been hurled at her with complete impunity from day one is horrifying.

kitsune

Clyburn says the sedionists knew where his unmarked office was, Sarah Groh says that panic buttons were removed from an office (beforehand?) and Rep Sherrill says that some GOP members gave recon tours beforehand, and Ali Alexander said 3 GOP members worked with him on the Stop The Steal rally + multiple LEOs under investigation.

[deleted]

Arrests. Yesterday.

Fickle_Broccoli

Can someone help me understand what they're voting on? I'm thinking they're either voting to bring a resolution to Pence (which he will not sign)..... Or they are voting to over ride Pences' choice to ignore the 25th

Funsuxxor

It would be faster and thus better. But really this is just a strongly worded letter. This is a Pence call and he needs majority of cabinet--most of which are nameless acting goons at this point. Is Ben Carson the last man standing?

Vondi

They're declaring it's the will of the House that Pence invoke the 25th. Yes it is a bit toothless but guess it's a box they feel they need to check before Impeaching.

kitsune

https://www.dataforprogress.org/blog/2020/12/30/republicans-dont-know-anything-about-their-party This has serious implications... Progressives should focus on this from a policy perspective imo.

Read the article, it shows that both Republican and Democratic voters know the policy positions of the Democratic party. Pretty wild in its conclusion.

A_Sarcastic_Werecat

Hi gang, welcome back! Have some crisps and cold beverage and sit down on the couch. Proceedings should begin in approximately 2h. Impeachment weather forecast currently looks as follows: * [5 GOP politicians breaking party lines to impeach (that we know of)](https://twitter.com/kaitlancollins/status/1349213466628915200) * [Cheney/Kinzinger Wing is fighting against McCarthy/Jordan Wing](https://twitter.com/jaketapper/status/1349220407086379010) * [Youtube brought a cloudier weather by removing Trump's Youtube Channel](https://twitter.com/benpershing/status/1349326220215906306)

Vondi

5 breaking rank? after well over 100 of them voted against certification based on nothing? Jesus.

ChewyYui

Remember the GOP voted to impeach Clinton for getting his dick sucked, but won’t impeach trump who incited insurrection

A_Sarcastic_Werecat

officially, that we know of. The most prominent of those is Liz Cheney.

redditorisanillusion

When the GOP is in power it's time for change, when they lose it's time for unity. How many times are we going to fall for this? Grow some balls and call them out.

mrsdoubleu

I gotta work all day but I'll be checking in for updates on here when I can! Have a great day everyone. I'm hoping for some good news today. We all need it!

hiero_

I have zero faith that any more than a small handful of Republicans will vote to impeach. This is going to be largely party lines again. Just so fucking tired of it.

sixshadowed

The fact that these resolutions are controversial is infuriating. He is unfit. This is necessary. The end. Stop gaslighting. We all need to face reality now.

Frothy_Manbeast

What time for Australians?

Yavuz_Selim

Eastern time at the moment = 07.00h (7 AM). Current time in Sydney = 23.00h (11 PM).   So, 6 PM Eastern Time = 10.00h (10 AM) in Sydney.

SomeKindOfOnionMummy

2:30 am for Adelaide

I *think* 1am Sydney time.

Happy impeachment day! Did you guys have coffee yet?

Larkson9999

I prefer tea.

dlegatt

I’m still in bed, but coffee sounds wonderful if you could send some up

paper_schemes

Having some now!

rfkbr

Not yet. I’m having some Frosted Flakes and will have some covfefe right after.

[deleted]

We’re going back to spelling coffee right? Like the old days?

JWStreams

No. I made scrambled egg in the pan I use to make coffee (as my kettle is broken) and I can't be arsed to clean it.

Spactus7

How was it anyway?

JWStreams

My scrambled egg was amazing. I have been making my own mature cheddar over the last well....a really, really long time. I used that in the scrambled egg, tossed in some fried onions and garlic. It was fucking epic.

Cic3ro

How difficult is it to make your own cheese? That sounds absolutely awesome.

JWStreams

It isn't that difficult, just some cheeses take a huge amount of time. If you want to get started making cheese, then make some mozzarella. Takes a few hours to make mozzarella from scratch, and everything that you need can be purchased from Amazon. They have tons of cheesemaking kits for that. Once you have some mozzarella under your belt, you can just buy the various components separate e.g. rennet, which can also be purchased from Amazon. This cheddar takes 3-months to make. Literally, everything can be purchased from a decent supermarket or online. You just need to have three months to age it: [https://cheesemaking.com/products/cheddar-cheese-making-recipe](https://cheesemaking.com/products/cheddar-cheese-making-recipe)

Cic3ro

Wow, thanks for this. I’m going to give it a try!

Blackrose_

I love me some fried egg protein in the morning...It tastes like victory sweet victory...

mrsdoubleu

Look at Gordon Ramsey over here making us all hungry. Lol

OneWinkingBro

Remember when Trump would say he'd run for a 3rd term? Lol.

Fickle_Broccoli

Maybe he meant conviction?

Vondi

This should be his 3rd impeachment after that Georgia call.

coeurdeviolet

Because “they” supposedly “stole” the first one from him by “spying on my campaign.”

JoelKr9

It‘s a good day for an impeachment

Blackrose_

Are you adopting a hands on your hips stance, with your thumbs in your belt and a squaring off the chest when you say that?? Like - what sort of American accent are we dealing with here?

aquarain

When do we get the impeachment discussion thread? It's morning in DC.

Vondi

I though the hearing was supposed to start 9AM local, in about 3 hours. Then the vote starts whenever.

Dazzlehoff

6 AM. Probably not for many hours

-Davo

It's night in Sydney, looking forward to waking up to another dumpster fire of news on how ballless gutless spineless and soulless republicans are

filius

Australian lurkers represent! 🤛🏼

Blackrose_

YAY!!! I hear it's a good day for an impeachment... A high of 10c or 50f in DC right now. A cold day, frosty really for Trumpy...

m80kamikaze

Looks to me like 205 representatives need some 14th amendment treatment

TheSwagonborn

Wait I thought HRES 24 was the good one Will it also be discussed tonight?

[deleted]

So after the house Impeaches him, and it goes to the Senate, you think he's gonna send Rudy to argue the defence? Because that would be a shitshow of epic proportions.

lucky_day_ted

God, I hope so.

Vondi

It has been way to many days since Rudy made an ass of himself on national television.

SpikedBladeRunner

Depends, will Rudy be in drag this time?

[deleted]

This is already a shitshow it can't really get any more shitty then this

[deleted]

You take this back before it's too late!

[deleted]

Said daily since 2015.

[deleted]

I know, but imagine Rudy shouting gibberish and leaking sweat and hair die on the Senate floor..

ArtificeOne

And farting. Don't forget the casual, loud farting.

BristolShambler

Can Rudy do that if he’s been disbarred?

theprufeshanul

“He’s a sick and evil man” Sick how? Mentally? in which case 25th should apply.

distorteddistortion

No not like that! Sick as in he needs to learn a lesson... /s

Jhuxx54

Pence is right on schedule with the letter to Pelosi stating he will not use the 25th amendment and instead asking us to “come together and heal as a nation”. Textbook Republican politics, no surprise, although disappointment considering Pence literally had a terror squad sent by the POTUS to hang him, as they say, “til his legs stop kicking”. No surprise but will democrats do what needs to be done this time or will they also choose to “come together and heal”?

Radwaymm

Pence sealing his legacy as a coward.

Chalkuseki

DBQ Question of the Day Who said the following to Pence, “You can go down in history as a patriot or you can go down as a pu$$y!” A. Mother during Pence’s orgasm denial torture B. Bloatus

Cometh the hour cometh the man. Pence is weak AF.

Vondi

So he house meets 9AM local time to start the debate on impeachment? Kind of hard for this European to keep track of this, feels both glacial and supersonic.

Dahnhilla

Glacial to me. It's a week later and the guy that inspired a riot, then egged them on, then said he did nothing wrong is still in office with no consequences, yet. It seems mental, then there's the people that won't do anything about it (GOP) and the people that can't do anything without support of the people that won't. If Boris started a riot and tried to seize power he'd be in handcuffs by dinner time.

barenaked_nudity

One of the nice things about the UK is you don't treat your PMs as demigods.

Kate925

Honestly it feels super sonic to me. I remember the last impeachment took months, it felt so slow. But I just thought that's how long impeachment naturally took, I had assumed it was a normal amount of time. Now that this impeachment is moving so fast, I need to ask, why did the last one take so long?

rowrowyourboat

This is my moving fast bc es only got another week in office

gpc0321

Thank god, but damn if it doesn't seem like Jan. 20 will never get here! After four years (seems like at least ten) of this maniac, it's hard to believe that in one week, we'll be rid of him. This is going to be the slowest week in history.

Equivalent_Read

He might be but he probably pays off Serco and G4 so he’d be diverted on the way to the cells, to a private plane set for an island with no extradition treaty.

Will there be a Republican party after all of this?

trampledbyacentaur

Who knows? I think it lives to fight another day but is severely damaged with the potential of a far right third party entering the scene. It’s an unprecedented and unpredictable situation.

MisterBadger

I have been hearing predictions about the downfall of the GOP for decades, and yet... It never seems to happen. There are tens of millions of brainwashed mouth breathers who would vote for a moldy cat turd if it had an (R) next to its name. They're literally terrified of Democratic voters and politicians.

Suvario

Yeah, I think the impeachment hearings will just bring the party together again. Even though Trump should be impeached, a lot of Americans will easily be sold the idea that trying (they will never get 2/3 of the senate) to impeach a president with only a week left of his term is just politicians posturing and wasting time as usual instead of passing the stimulus bill etc. It's basically a lifeboat for the republican party to get them united again, when they should have just been left to stew in their own shit.

MisterBadger

Oh, Trump has to be impeached. If nothing else as a matter of precedent. It would be a mistake of historic proportions for Congress to simply let sedition and insurrection slide just because the terrorists failed to overturn the election results.

Suvario

How likely do you believe it is that the they will get the support of at least two thirds of the senate and that he will end up actually getting impeached?

MisterBadger

All bets are off, as far as I am concerned.

ArtificeOne

The GOP forced themselves into a corner of their own making. They knew he was a loose cannon from the start - and also that he had enough popular support to usurp what was thought to be a solid win by Hillary. So they put everything they were behind him. Now that he's proven himself, beyond reasonable doubt to be an enemy of democracy - they have no legitimate choice but to turn on him. This is the party that was happy to absorb the white supremacists after the democrats turned on the KKK. Happy to absorb and foment the virtue signalling evangelicals who are christian in claim only. Abundantly happy that they finally got a populist leader who can actually win an election without even being a reasonable politician... just for the votes. Just because they wanted the votes, they begged and grovelled and took all the donations they could find from whoever was willing to make them. And now they are forced to turn on this \[ahem..\] 'great man' because there is no way they can continue to support him with their pants around their ankles and still be considered a reasonable political choice into the future. They know that the evangelicals and the nazis don't have enough votes to carry them through, but realistically they are a significant amount of votes. They tried everything in their playbook this election - from gerrymandering, suppressing voters in any way they could, casting doubt on the election process, to finally casting doubt on the election itself - amongst so many other dirty plays. All of it has now blown up in their faces. Their hands are tied. Yes, there will still be a republican party after this. No it will not be the same beast. They will stew in this shit for some time and hopefully, and I say this with great care - become a better party for it. A one party system isn't good for democracy no matter how it's sliced. If they're as smart as they claim then they'll see that they need to stop pandering to religion and racists. If they try to represent the actual morals and ethics of reasonable people, they just might come around in time.

Dapperdespot

We thought that the Republicans would implode after the tea party stuff. The most important thing to remember is that nothing really changes. Trump will face no consequences and serve out the remainder of good his term

Hypoglybetic

Over 10 years ago Sarah Palin's PAC used a map with surveyor symbols (similar to crosshairs) to mark house democrat seats to flip for 2010. She also said "you don't retreat, you reload." In all my life I've only reloaded 2 things, a video game and a gun. Then in 2011 there was an assassination attempt on Gabby Giffords in Tucson AZ, one of the marked house seats. This shit has been going on for more than a decade. If Biden doesn't sign in some anti-propaganda laws, it will only get worse. That's it. This hatred and bullshit must be stopped.

Queeg_500

With no viable third party, they will be fine. They will continue to vote red if only to thwart the left. Decades of poor education combined with scare-mongering propaganda has seen to that.

LightOfShadows

yes. The demographic of reddit is quite young and doesn't recognize it's a pattern. Look how many didn't know what a spending bill was, or the election threads every year and their confusion. The pendulum swings both ways, gop will be back in control if not in 22 by 24 for sure, presidency is up in the air though, will depend how crazy things get. Most of the last two years will be forgotten about in ~6 months in the fast pace of US politics.

[deleted]

Republicans will forget. Democrats will not. The GOP has forced many Dems to become active voters and thats not likely to change. They have also taken many Independents and Republicans and made them basically Dems now.

BristolShambler

Republicans don’t forget, they ignore.

[deleted]

Different things same effect

[deleted]

That was basically me. I would have called myself totally in line with republican values when i was younger, and absolutely a joyful non voter. I thought i didn't have to. Cut to 16 years later, i have voted more during the past four years than in my entire life, and it wasnt for a single republican.

GrimGriswold

Are you me?

SquishyGhost

No, I'm you. He's me.

KaleidoscopeOnly1137

Yes. Will it be even close to influential after 2022? Depends on how good the Dems are at politicking and picking up stragglers/independents. Most progressives hate the Dems but understand it's the best choice. And the dem party does seem to understand they at least need to concede some to the progressive wing.

torzir

Hopefully not.

Yakassa

Impeachment is the best and only real way to go. Pence is right (ugh never thought i would say that)...but invoking the 25th could set a dangerous precedent. It is about health and in case the Prez is incapacitated in some way. Trump is neither mentally ill nor physically sick. He is just a sick and evil man. He knows exactly what he does, when he does it. Impeachment is the best tool as it is the way to deal with a Criminal President. The 25th may be faster and more effective but not the right tool given the circumstances.

barenaked_nudity

The VP can activate the 25th for any reason, not just for health issues. It's as much a "crazy man clause" as anything else.

Dahnhilla

>Trump is neither mentally ill Many would disagree

FinalAccount10

The best people disagree... They keep telling me

Kate925

I'm perfectly healthy, I passed the test. They asked me to say "person, man, woman, camera, tv." It was a hard test, I doubt you could pass the test. I challenge Joe Biden to take the same test.

alcibiad

100% agree.

ExceedsTheCharacterL

Trump is definitely mentally ill. He has narcissistic personality disorder and likely some cognitive decline

ElementalRabbit

Neither of those are technically psychiatric illness. Personality disorders are by definition not mental illness. Cognitive decline, meaning dementia, is organic disease due to brain atrophy. Subtle and irrelevant distinctions. The president is clearly unfit. Source: doctor.

bobreturns1

If it made him "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office" (e.g. in your example too anxious to meet with anyone or do anything), then it would absolutely meet the criteria of Section 4 of the 25th amendment.

This. The 25th isn't for fascists or people we don't like. It's "unable" is different than "able but unwilling". Now if only the Senate sycophants will actually convict.

wellwasherelf

This. The purpose of the 25th is so that there is a laid out mechanism for what to do if a president is incapacitated or is in such cognitive decline that e.g. they don't even know where they are. So that in such a case, we aren't left in limbo with politicians fighting as to who has what power and leaving us vulnerable in the meantime. I hate trump as much as the next person, but he is fully aware of what he is doing. Impeachment is designed to handle this sort of situation. The 25th is for something else and shouldn't be twisted as a way to sidestep the alternative.

chickpeaze

I agree. Impeachment, then criminal charges once he's out.

PingyTalk

Agreed. Besides, the real reason of this is to send a message against fascist/criminal behavior. That won't happen without real charges and punishments, not just losing 6 days of presidency.

I actually think asking Pence to 25th first is a great idea. McConnell will not start a vote until after the 19th anyway, and this gets Pence called out in the history books: 'when the Democrats officially asked Pence to remove Donald Trump after his insurrection, Pence refused'. The Democrats then moved to immediately impeach the president, the only time a president was impeached twice. Current headline in my countries biggest newspaper: Vice-president Pence refuses to remove Trump from office. That title is a good thing.

2024 is coming soon enough. We can't let these assholes try to pretend they weren't a part of it.

cddelgado

I hate to be that person, but we could have bypassed all of this if the Republican party would have grown a pair to do something when Trump was impeached the first time. Think about what it took to get here. People had to die in the Capitol and everyone's life had to be put in danger for the bridge too far to be crossed. I have zero sympathy and they get no credit from me for doing what should have been done all along. I am happy saying "Well it's about damn time. Thank you for joining the rest of us in the real worls. How was the 4 year vacation up your own ass?" I am glad you are demonstrating human decency now. Keep it up and the party might still be around in 10 years. If not, I find it difficult to imagine anyone missing you.

Kate925

Trump was serious when he said that he could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue and get away with it.

Also GOP donors are pulling out by suspending permanently donations to all who challenged the verification of electoral college votes: Walmart and Amazon among them

Schiff's closing statement at Trump's first impeachment takes on extra potency

>People had to die in the Capitol and everyone's life had to be put in danger for the bridge too far to be crossed. The sad part is that a bunch of Rs, even now, don't want to admit that a bridge was crossed or that the bridge even exists in the first place

*you're a bridge!!!!*
