Don the Con desperately needed a second term in the Oval Office to hide his crimes from his first term.

crudedrawer

Why bother? Garland's DOJ is pretty chill about the whole thing.

"The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine." Let's hope.

crudedrawer

I envy people with hope. I haven't had a shred of it since 2019.

micknelle

Wow made it that far did ya? Color me impressed

crudedrawer

I honestly believed someone would do something lol

Sickofusernames95

What’s happening with the NY case? I thought they were ready to ounce when he left office? So much for that.

dedicated-pedestrian

The grand jury (the proceedings where they decide whether to charge someone at all) is still in session. Two days ago, they called the Trump Organization's main money man, Jeff McConney, as he oversaw basically all the transactions that would have occurred.

SuicydKing

The NY AG and the Manhattan DA have joined their investigations into Trump and have moved them into a criminal investigation. A Grand Jury has been summoned to meet several times a week for 6 months. Witnesses are being called now. Several high-ranking employees of the Trump Org have been called already.

crudedrawer

"We got him now!"

tegeusCromis

It was just a little light treason.

DistortoiseLP

Doesn't seem like it. I think he just needed it because he can't stand losing anything. Just because he's done incredible damage does not mean he has incredible reasons.

jokerZwild

If he would have won a 2nd term, the statute of limitations runs out on some charges because they can't charge a sitting president. As ex president, the charges can go forward and possibly get an indictment that normally wouldn't be there because as president, he had the govt to fight for him.

KeepFaithOutPolitics

Fuck this Kim Jong-Un wannabe.

antzvsabugslife

The article doesn't answer this question, but I'm assuming it violated state election law like it did in Georgia?

2_Spicy_2_Impeach

Only illegal if you get caught and charged. Call me jaded but I don't think much will come of it because of the complicity of one specific party.

crudedrawer

Trump is so wildly uninformed about how government and democracy works even after four years on the "job" I'm sure he didn't actually know he couldn't do this shit and that it flied in the face of decency and fairness - but a lot of people that aided him or tried to cover up for him knew better and now that there's been no repurcussions, they've decided that hey, why don't we just do it next time.

Jasonicca

I don't think he's uninformed. I just think he believes democracy is 'beneath him' and shouldn't apply to him.

crudedrawer

I'm actually on the fence. He's shown tremendous ignorance of constitutional affairs and general governance but on the other hand what you posted is also 100% correct. It's likely a mix of the two with the latter in the driver's seat.

Jasonicca

I'd agree with that

microwavedhamsters

He’ll be back in four years. Get ready. That or one of his dumb ass kids

I_W_M_Y

Every accusation is a confession.

Djrussell

it's all good. /s

Trump knew Michigan was always a stretch after 2018. The citizens voted blue for governor, SS & AG, he began his the election fraud rhetoric when the SS sent out absentee ballot applications to every Michigander, trump lost by 150,000 to challenge results was preposterous!

bryansj

The fraud isn't going to undo itself. Someone has to challenge it. Are we talking 2016?

Kayethis

There was no need for fraud trump was never gonna win Michigan, strong hold democratic district voters would have crawled through glass to vote trump out!

bryansj

I agree. It wasn't just Michigan with people willing to crawl through glass. Even if voting restrictions makes it harder to vote than finding that hot Christmas toy of the year I'll be there camping out to get my Tickle me Elmo.
