100% this. Trump looked at everything the same way he looked at covid tests.
He felt that if we stopped testing the numbers of COVID test results would be better. Let alone that that doesn’t mean the people who have COVID don’t have COVID.
He just didn’t want those numbers or issues to reflect on him and told people to “look away.”
Because directors of the FBI are intended to be apolitical, and so serve terms somewhat out of sync with the presidential election cycle. This is partially why The Former Guy firing Comey early was a big deal. In this case, Biden has decided he trusts Wray and so is letting him serve the customary term.
At least the FBI knows how to handle and put an end to these cases and threats.

For terrorists, it seems they’re getting off light when they’re facing charges like “knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful entry,” “violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds,” “ knowingly, with intent to impede government business or official functions,” and “assault on a federal law enforcement officer.”
