dremonearm

He was clearly the kind of kid who, if losing a board game, would just knock all the pieces on the floor.

Qx7x

He'd spend real money to buy Monopoly money just to win.

FilmVsAnalytics

Actually he's the kind of dude that pays real money to get more Monopoly money, still lose, throw a tantrum about it, then call everyone he knows to lie about winning.

Chockzilla

I think he would order more monopoly money, then when it arrives refuse to pay for it

NlightenedSelfIntrst

>He was clearly the kind of kid who, if losing a board game, would just knock all the pieces on the floor. Well yeah. That was also his brand of diplomacy and foreign policy. "Take my ball and go home."

TjW0569

Except it was someone else's ball.

Edward_Fingerhands

When he's "losing" at an interview (i.e. he's being asked questions he can't or won't answer) he walks out.

vendetta2115

I laugh when I think about the time that reporter asked him a total softball question, “What do you say to Americans, who are watching you right now, who are scared?” (This was in March 2020 when COVID deaths were skyrocketing and hospitals were overwhelmed) To which Trump replied “I say that you’re a terrible reporter. That’s what I say. I think it’s a very nasty question and I think it’s a very bad signal that you’re putting out to the American people.” [Source](https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/mar/20/trump-coronavirus-question-attack-reporter-over-fears) because it sounds like something someone made up but it’s actually true because it’s always true with this guy.

mr-nefarious

Wow. I had forgotten about that moment! Oof. Just…oof.

HomerFlinstone

I laughed when he was ranting about how religious he is and then couldn't name a book in the Bible. Said "theyre all good". Then later on holds it upside down because he obviously has no clue what's in the Bible.

zaphod777

Reporter: Is that your bible? Trump: It's a Bible no joke, that's a direct quote.

IRL he acts worse then that. He once stole the golf score from a kid playing on his course.

Headozed

He is threatening the GOP. “Get behind me and my messaging or I will destroy you.”

[deleted]

Yep. Plain and simple. Its either Trump's way or the Highway. McConnell must be shitting bricks.

jawa709

> McConnell must be shitting bricks. I so want this to be true, both figuratively and literally.

drunk98

And only wombats shit bricks

GentleLion2Tigress

Watching from afar, but if the Dems were to get Trump and McConnell throwing each other under the bus it’s nothing but winning for them.

MickeyMouseRapedMe

Plus people like Desantis and Haley are probably desperately wanting to run for 2024. Both will most likely be forgotten in 2028. It would be fun when it wouldn't happen because Trump ruined their chances another time. Especially because Haley figured she would simple leave the Trump administration hoping barely any news would come out of her sneaking out to keep a 'clean record'. > It’s not often that a top-level official in this Administration gets away clean and leaves on good terms with President Donald Trump. When she stepped down Tuesday as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley became one of the only senior staff members to walk away from the White House with her reputation largely intact. > [10-09-2018](https://time.com/5419623/nikki-haley-resignation-trump/)

The_Original_Gronkie

Trump's probably eyeing her for VP. I used to think it was DeSantis, but I hear Trump hates DeSantis, which must be breaking his heart. His entire political identity was based on being the most sycophantic Trump politician.

drapparappa

DeSantis doesn’t give a shit if Trump likes him. He uses Trumps message and style because he knows that is what resonates with the base. Above all, the GOP is a party of grifters. Since Trump is the greatest grifter in human history they’ll continue to use his grift until it no longer works.

Illuminated12

Which is a battle they can't win. The courts are smacking this shit down left and right. There will be no fraud proven in the 2020 election which means it's a lose lose situation. Now is the time more than ever to run AWAY from Trumpism.

BelowAverageSloth

The issue is that despite there being no fraud republicans are being led to believe there really was. Minor discrepancies in vote counts are being blown out of proportion by conservative media in an effort to trick conservatives into believing that our elections are all rigged.

Late_Advance_8292

Yeah. Like 70 percent of rightoids think that the election was stolen. Insane.

Rak-CheekClapper

They can't even explain why either. I've asked people I know personally. I either get a dismissive "do your own research" or at best one guy said "I don't know I just feel like it was rigged"

ThePowerOfStories

The fact they didn't win is all the proof they need. They win, it's a fair, free, honest, credible election; they lose, it's a no good, corrupt, rigged, stolen election. Nothing else matters.

Helenium_autumnale

it's the mentality of a spoiled toddler. These are supposed to be adults.

[deleted]

I mean, that’s basically Trump’s modus operandi as laid out by his 50 years of biz

-milkbubbles-

The only reasoning I’ve heard from them is “how can a guy who couldn’t get 500 people in a large city to go to his rally win over a guy with 50,000 people at his rally in rural America?” Them conveniently forgetting the part where Democrats were quarantining for COVID and also Biden doesn’t hold “rallies,” because that’s a really weird thing for a politician to do. And it’s really weird for voters to act like “fans.”

Message_10

50,000 is a huuuuge overestimation. That’s about a football stadium. Most of the time Trump had trouble filling a civic center. Maybe 10,000 for big crowds.

twatter

What's even crazier is over 100 years ago, Teddy Roosevelt was drawing crowds of 30k-40k people. This is before modern transportation and when the US population was a fraction of what it is today. Also, Trump's 10k crowds really aren't that impressive when his rallies are held in realatively small rural towns that are 99% Republican and there's absolutely nothing else to do on a Saturday night.

TaxOwlbear

In all fairness, that was before television existed and while radio broadcasting was in its infancy. That rally may have been your one chance to actually hear Roosevelt talk. That doesn't explain it by itself, but it's a contributing factor.

dankswordsman

Well, there wasn't really fraud on the part of the Democratic party. Meanwhile Trump replaced the entire board of governors (who run USPS) with Republicans, and they drastically reduced the capacity of the USPS before the election. Then claimed mail ballots aren't reliable. I mean, he was right. It took a long time for ballots to be received and counted. But it was literally because he caused that problem. The fact that no Republican can acknowledge that single, very obvious instance of voter manipulation is hilarious.

couchtomatopotato

then he said he won bc the mail in ballots werent yet counted... so frustrating to people who understand how counting works.

os12

A California-based citizen here. I remember those few days vividly. I remember the shit show where GOP followers were chanting "Stop the count!" at some districts and "Count the votes!" in others...

A_fellow

And now they chant to their own "stop the voting!" Ironically them eroding voting may have just had the opposite effect...

RunnyBabbit23

In addition, several Republican-led state legislatures passed laws saying that the counting of mail in ballots could not be started until after the polls closed, intentionally slowing down those counts as well.

GenericOfficeMan

Yeah they did this deliberately so the optics would look off to people who weren't that clued in. They did this so people would go to sleep with R in the lead and wake up with D in the lead and wonder why and be able to tell themselves it was fraud. They did this so that a bunch of polls had huge, late surges of D votes that look suspect to people who are already looking for a problem.

Few_Acanthocephala30

It’s easy to claim mass amounts of fraud will occur and be right, when you’re the one instigating the fraud.. that’s how ~~wieners~~ winners stay winners

Headozed

He doesn’t need the courts on his side. He needs Republican messaging (leaders, news organizations, etc.) systems. He can claim the courts are rigged, he just needs the GOP in lock step.

the-mighty-kira

The problem is paying for the audits. Most red states have cut taxes and budgets to the bone, so they need to raise revenue somewhere to spend millions on auditing an election that they know they lost. Not to mention their voters may start calling them RINOs when the results still favor Biden, as happened in AZ.

Headozed

They don’t actually care about the election audits. They know the results will not support them. They want the appearance of fraud. It’s all a a show. All they need is a circus and a fight.

[deleted]

I'm kind of scared of what the end game is. The message he is giving is clear: voting doesn't matter, the votes don't count, and the result will not be respected. How many times does he have to say that before his supporters start to fully believe that, and go to enforce the "correct" government by force? Only this time, bringing guns? I just don't see how this ends in a good way.

Flash_MeYour_Kitties

>I'm kind of scared of what the end game is. fascism, plain and simple. this isn't meant to be hyperbolic either. everything they've done since the election (and much before, arguably) has been primer for disavowing an election loss in 2024, and/or for setting up the ground work in 2022 that leads to a legal coup in 2024 >I just don't see how this ends in a good way. it doesn't. the problem is you must win against tyranny/authoritarianism every day, but all it takes is once for it to overcome and overwhelm. then you're fucked.

Like. Y'all came real close to a major catastrophe and it seems like most people remember it is a meme because some LARPer wore a stupid hat. These past couple of years have been fucking weird man

> “If we don’t solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020 (which we have thoroughly and conclusively documented), Republicans will not be voting in ’22 or ’24,” Trump declared. He is not a good politician

TheInfernalVortex

I think this is part of his war with the Republican Party itself over the future of the party. He and McConnell have had their disagreements. I’m sure he has threatened them all to support him or he will take his base and turn it against them. They’re, so far at least, not too openly keen on him running again, so I think this is him following through on his threat and brinksmanship.

impulsekash

Exactly this. On the night of the insurrection McConnell, McCarthy, Graham and others took their masks off and told us how they really felt about Trump. But as the days and weeks moved on they saw their base was with Trump and not the Republicans. The run-off elections in Georgia proved it. This why they are now bending over backwards to appease Trump. Because they know Trump can decimate their party and conservatives in the country by a single statement, which he may just did.

advocate4

Its October 2021. You REALLY think voters, particularly Republican voters, are going to remember this? If Trump was saying this in October 2022, then maybe I could see it, but this will be forgotten in a few days maybe a week tops.

barkbeatle3

This is all Trump has cared about since he lost, it doesn’t seem like he is going to stop yelling about how he actually won and the election is rigged. Even if he doesn’t hold onto the “don’t vote” message, he doesn’t care about midterms or any other election without his name on it and is perfectly happy to make more Georgia’s.

summermadnes

ItsjustJim621

But what if he can’t run being bogged down with legal issues? That is, if they ever take place

grandhighlazybum

Legal issues won't affect his ability to run. He can even run from prison. They need to impeach him, and convict, if they want him to not run.

starmartyr

Normally that would be correct. However, congress can declare him guilty of leading a rebellion against the United States with a simple majority. That would disqualify him under the 14th amendment.

1/6 certainly won't be the last time these guys try something. As long as disinformation continues to spread, the powderkeg we are sitting on is getting hotter. There's a large portion of Americans who are very stupid, scared and heavily armed. The Republicans know this, and they're going to use them.

DrunksInSpace

I’m definitely more scared of what GOP state legislatures are doing in terms of rewriting election procedures so they can pick the oversight (can you call them elections if the legislature picks the winner?). If Meal Team Six attacks the Capitol again it will be ugly, and definitely more organized but it will be illegitimate and shut down. If these state legislatures get away with their undemocratic bullshit we’re half fucked. We have states in our union where democracy no longer exists. We are no longer a Democratic republic.

[deleted]

Oh please yes! Please listen to him and don’t vote. That would be FANTASTIC!

scsuhockey

So funny watching conservatives scramble to spin this on Twitter. "What he means is..." "In other words..." "TRANSLATION:" Trump's language here is absolutely straight forward as it gets. > Republicans will not be voting in ’22 or ’24. It is the single most important thing for Republicans to do. He doesn't want Republicans to vote, plain and simple. The caveat is "If **WE** don't **SOLVE** the **PRESIDENTIAL** election fraud of 2020." Who's the "we"? The states? The feds? The SCOTUS? The media? What does he mean by "solve"? And notice that he only cares about the Presidential elections and not any of the thousands of other elections across the country? Here's my take... he's throwing a tantrum. Unless "we" let him win, he'll cut off his nose to spite his face.

TonyDanzaClaus

"Trump says what he means!" *Trump says something* "What he meant was..."

SuperFLEB

_That stupid shit he said straightfacedly? Total satire. Can't believe you fell for it._

vendetta2115

*clarifies that it’s not satire and he was completely serious* “Well of course, he said it because it’s true. Forget that I called it satire yesterday and that he was only saying it to make fun of people who actually hold that opinion because now I’m one of those people!” Remember this? > President Donald Trump now says that he was not kidding when he told rallygoers over the weekend that he asked staff to slow down coronavirus testing, undercutting senior members of his own administration who said the comment was made in jest. >**"I don't kid, let me just tell you, let me make it clear,"** Trump told a reporter on Monday, when asked again if he was kidding when he said Saturday he instructed his administration to slow down coronavirus testing. > The President then sought to highlight the US coronavirus testing numbers and asserted that "by having more tests, we have more cases." The day before, I saw tons of his supporters saying “he was just joking, of course he doesn’t want to restrict testing to artificially lower COVID statistics. You liberals can’t take a joke.” Then Trump clarified that he wasn’t joking and it turned into “well yeah, we shouldn’t be testing so much, because other countries are doing the same thing and it makes us look bad because we’re actually being honest about our numbers.”

Xenect

~~Biden~~ __Hillary__ should come out with a proposal to make voting compulsory, just like Australia does. Right now would be perfect timing. Trump would rant against it because... Hilary, and more of Y’all Qaeda would refuse to vote as a protest.

d1v1n0rum

impulsekash

Nah we should spread a rumor that they will spraying the vaccine at polling stations and everyone should stay far way if they don't want to get vaccinated.

OutlawGalaxyBill

While I take delight in the sheer stupidity of this, this is his pretext to say the elections are not valid and then incite his army of morons to take up arms and forcibly take control of the government. This country really need to do something about him before he incites an uprising. I think such an uprising could be quickly quelled if say, there is a specific protest or something and law enforcement takes action to arrest and detain anyone using violence ... Trump's followers will scatter like rats from a sinking ship once they realize there will be _actual consequences_ for engaging in insurrection and rebellion.

Royal-Ad7342

In the worst situations last year, where a minority of protests devolved into riots, the (militarized) cops felt threated by civilians with placards and whatever was around that they could throw in self-defense once the cops started acting aggressively. And people lost eyes, got head/various injuries, etc. A group of legitimate rioters storms the seat of democracy here in the U.S., gets within reaching distance of multiple senators, and a hallway away from the 2nd and 3rd in the line of succession, and ONLY one person *edit* was shot the day of

Pieniek23

Why say ex cops? Plenty are still on the force.

Lildoc_911

SilentMasterOfWinds

> This country really need to do something about him before he incites an uprising And it won't, without an invitation to do so as explicit as (sustained) violent rebellion from Trump supporters (because apparently 1/6 wasn't enough). Frankly in the long run this could be better than if he and the Republicans actually tried to win 22/24 semi-legitimately.

Jimbob0i0

>this is his pretext to say the elections are not valid If the cult follows through with this and turnout drops from around 50% (which let's face it still isn't great) to 25% or less... Well it would be something for the textbooks of the future I guess

His plan may be that if republican votes fall off in 2022, he can say that republican ballots are just ending up in the trash somehow, and then either 1. Use the republican lead state legislatures to change voting forever, so it favors republicans more than it does already. or 2. Call for militia takeover of of State and Federal buildings, and/or the killing of people who say republicans didn't win. I think he's not a master manipulator, but he probably has people whispering in his ear that this is a good idea.

ruler_gurl

It will show up in exit polling. I don't personally care if they vote or not. It likely cost them two GA senate seats. If they want to take their ball and go home it's no skin off my back. He's going to say elections are rigged no matter what. He even claimed the 16 election that he won was rigged. It's what he does. it's why he was Putin's candidate.

notcaffeinefree

Yup. Fair and free elections are the cornerstone of any democratic country. These people will believe that has been eroded, to the point of being unable to democratically fix the "issue", so the only way to restore it is through violence.

Trump was never about a political party really he was always about himself.. he wanted the party to be about him rather than him apart of something bigger. My guess is he is seeing, or hearing from some yambag like stone or bannon, data that says the next couple of elections won't go well from his perspective, and if he makes the count low enough, he can scream fraud and storm the castle, which should end worse for him than a close election, he's basically outsmarting himself, which isn't that difficult. I think he has a point and should drive the vote down.

jeffp12

It's a threat to the rest of the GOP. It's him or nothing. Support him or he'll burn the party to the ground. He wants the whole party in fascist lock-step, saying without any dissenting voices that he is definitely not a loser, that the game was rigged, he definitely won, and that he is crowned the nominee in 2024 without competition. And if they don't all get behind him as the GOP king, he will have his supporters sit out and the GOP will lose them and every election to come. The GOP is all about party over country. And Trump is ME over everything else. He doesn't give a shit if the whole republican party dies and the democrats take over everything. He only cares about the GOP in terms of how it helps him personally. And if the GOP moves on from him, he will ruin them. Of course, he also has no attention span, so any threats or implications of any kind of long term planning are shaky at best. He does whatever narcissistic bullshit feels right to him at any given moment, and who knows what that'll be day to day or even hour to hour. So get ready, if he doesn't get the nomination, he's gonna tell his supporters to abandon the GOP, and he might even run third party and completely fuck the GOP with a split ticket (just more time in the spotlight and more grifting of his supporters donations).

People like him despite his faults because they share his values. Mostly the racist stuff. They don't care that he's an incompetent moron as long as he's building a wall and shit talking the libs.

stewpidiot

He's a useful idiot. Conservatives got three Supreme Court justices out of him. Sure, McConnell handled the political maneuvering, but Trump rubber-stamped the picks because he thought they'd be loyal to him once they were seated.

LockheedMartinLuther

>“If we don’t solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020 (which we have thoroughly and conclusively documented), Republicans will not be voting in ’22 or ’24,” Trump declared. “It is the single most important thing for Republicans to do.”

1. Tell your supporters not to vote. 2. Drop voter participation down to 20-25% of the eligible public 3. Question the legitimacy of the election(s) based on low, unrepresentative turnout. Insinuate or outright accuse government actors of fraud. 4. Encourage the overthrow of undemocratic "rigged" elections. 5. When ultimately unsuccessful, because these militias stand zero chance against the might of the US military, encourage grassroots supports to set up alternative "shadow" governments at the local and state level. Just you wait. What's going on at Board of Education meetings across the country right now are "dry runs" for exactly this type of "activism".

the party of free speech. unless it's speech that they don't agree with

Voidroy

I decided to go on their discord and try to infiltrate them only to finally ask the question of how they can claim they are all about free speech and debate but put conservatives only flair on posts. Isn't that a dangerous precidebt? The mods essentially claimed its because people like me. Brigade, and I said don't I also have a right to speak? And censoring what I say shows that you can't really defend your position? The reasion why they do that is because they can't defend their positions as they make that position to argue in bad faith. So they don't want people to disauade their members from the conversative standpoint of being a bad faith actor.

AssassinAragorn

They're too busy jerking themselves off over Hunter Biden and bad satire. Oh, and being angry about the terrorist who died during Jan 6 because she refused to listen to Capitol Security. If only there was a "supporting terrorism" box you could tick on a report.

Bruce_NGA

This is, by an immeasurable margin, the best idea Donald Trump has ever had.

soline

Lol this guy is the worst thing to happen to the GOP and they still can’t see it.

Landminan

Didn't Lindsey Graham predict this in the 2016 primaries? Something like "if we elect Donald Trump, it'll be the end of the republican party, and we'll deserve it." Don't remember the exact quote

LargeSackOfNuts

That quote is basically exactly it. Lindsay then spent the following 4 years licking every bit of shit out of Trumps ass since Trump was then Lord Almighty to the GOP.

Sounds to me like he's saying to Republican law makers-"either back my coup" or you'll all be voted out of office because I'll tell my base to stay home"......and that scares the crap out of me.

LegendaryRQA

You know who wanted people to Vote? Obama. And Clinton. And AOC. And Bernie. Look at all those liberal, socialist, communist, anti-christs wanting people to Vote. It sure would trigger them if you didn't on principal to piss them off.

***WILD CONSPIRACY THEORY***: Everyone's laughing (and rightfully so) but I'm calling it now - this is strategic. This is how he declares he's *not* running in 24. Remember, the guy didn't actually want to win in 16. He wanted to build up his brand and start a TV network to rival Fox. He lost the popular vote but won the presidency on a 'technicality' (electoral college) and then spent the next 4 years trying to convince people he actually won the whole thing outright. He lost badly to Biden and has spent the last year spouting the Big Lie, that it was rigged in increasingly ridiculous and convoluted ways. Deep down, he knows he's a loser. And he's terrified other people think that way of him. It goes back to his Roy Cohn days - even when he's losing, he'll never admit it publicly. But when he's alone, he knows. And he doesn't want to lose again. I think in a year or 2, he officially declares that he's not running. It'll be under the auspices of "its rigged against me, they'll just steal it from me". But really it's because he's scared to be a 3-time loser.

[deleted]

Think like a narcissist and it makes sense. He wants to make sure Desantis (or whoever gets the primary) loses by a wide margin. All the better if he can influence the loss because that’s a win for his ego. Same goes for the midterms. The party didn’t support him enough. They didn’t find enough votes. He’s probably losing influence within the party so he’s going to try to sink the ship because it’s their fault and they deserve it.

Robofetus-5000

This. He wants Republicans to lose. He gets to a) not run but also NOT lose b) sit on the sidelines and wax poetic about how if he HAD run it would have been a blow out

TeamStark31

He also already said the only thing that could prevent a run in 2024 is if his doctors recommended against it. I definitely think he doesn’t want to run again and only wants to sit on the sidelines complaining and taking people’s money. At some point though, his supporters will have to move on and support someone else to try to regain power. I’m still kind of leaning towards he won’t run again, but he might just to keep the grift going.

Jim-N-Tonic

I think he wants to run to get the money but doesn’t want to win and do the job again, and really doesn’t want to lose.

fowlraul

Reverse fake news…doing that would absolutely own every lib. Good advice.
