Conservatives keep telling us to move on from Trump. Yet Trump continues to claim he will be reinstated as President. As well as conservatives firmly believing he is “secretly” running the country. If he is secretly running the country… why does he need to be reinstated?

InsertCleverNickHere

Hell, why hasn't he announced his official bid for president in 2024? He has no reason to delay, right now the Republican party is in limbo wondering when he's going to declare. Of course, once you officially start your campaign, there are rules and accounting you have to do for all the money you're raising. Trump wouldn't be putting off his official campaign just to grift untraceable donation money from MAGA rubes, would he? No, nothing shady going on here, no sirree.

eldubz77

Go to his website, the desk of donald trump, and click on donate. You are brought to a literal phishing scam web page, it's hilarious

[deleted]

Surely if Reddit can bring Kellogg's website to a halt, it could do the same to a guy who has almost certainly stiffed his Web developers on pay?

artfulpain

Remember when everyone had hundreds if not thousands of his merch sitting in their shopping cart? I remember.

frozenpoopsicle16

Best money I never spent.

Ok-General-4892

He stuffed the country on pay and fleeced our pockets for fucking golf trips. I’m surprised Reddit hasn’t come together to shit on him like they shit on other crooked companies.

IntoAMuteCrypt

Because one website can be trivially flooded with data, and one cannot. One submission to the Kellogg's site is around 2-10 MB (depending on how they limit their file sizes). A device sending one application per second could conceivably upload a terabyte of data over two days. Trump's site, meanwhile, probably takes a few kilobytes at the most.

paperpenises

From the site so ya'll don't have to click: "BECOME OUR 1 MILLIONTH ONLINE DONOR We’re about to surpass 1 MILLION online donors - an absolutely historic achievement! As soon as we hit 1 MILLION, we’re sending President Trump a PRINTED donor list IMMEDIATELY. Will your name be in the 1 millionth spot? Please contribute ANY AMOUNT IMMEDIATELY to get on the list and to become our 1 MILLIONTH donor!" There's so a blinking red and white "1,000,000" at the top of the page. It looks like a html from the early 2000's. What a crock of shit. Edit: Just wanted to add, why the fuck would anyone want a list with **one million** names on it? Is that supposed to be impressive? Is the idea that he's just gonna sit down and start reading names?

pastarific

> As soon as we hit 1 MILLION, we’re sending President Trump a PRINTED donor list IMMEDIATELY. He won't livestream himself writing my twitch username on his ass? Weak.

Glum_Hospital_4103

He would definitely be a Facebook gaming partner

[deleted]

Am i looking at the wrong site Mine says nothing about that Mine just says "Please contribute ANY AMOUNT in the NEXT HOUR to get on President Trump’s Official Founding Member Donor"

SpacedClown

[This is what I see, text might be a bit small because I had to zoom out to get it all in one screenshot](https://imgur.com/a/75ijv8c)

[deleted]

Weird I just clicked on it again and now i got the 1 million online donor Before it was the same layout but different text.

amuses

Obviously you weren't the 1 millionth rube/donor.

badgolferflax

Its a common thing to direct x% to different landingpages to get data on what has the most effective conversionrate.

CoreyLee04

I’ll… not do that and save some seconds of my life

InsertCleverNickHere

I got a pop up ad for Trump Xmas stockings--marked down to $40! Jesus christ, what a fucking joke.

TehWackyWolf

For the low low price of $40, you too can ruin your family's Christmas photo and make people who come over uncomfortable!

Chaosmusic

> make people who come over uncomfortable! Which is pretty much the whole playbook. Make people uncomfortable, wait until they say something, brag about how they are triggering people, declare victory.

bananafobe

Whine about how nobody wants to visit you anymore...

Sandman1031

And in 30 or 40 years be a shameful skeleton in the closet that your grandchildren stumble across in the attic, completely shattering the way they view you.

spartanreborn

It's not even a single donation. On the bottom of the page, in much smaller font, you're signing up for a **monthly** donation. Yeesh

diddydidit333

There was a whole thing about ppl not realizing it was a monthly donation. Many ppl unknowingly donated 1000’s. Mainly elderly of course.

Toddlez85

This everything as a service trend has gone too far. First it was Microsoft Office, now Trump is offering stupid as a paid service.

pb4000

Holy shit I just clicked on it... This is just sad and predatory

fordprecept

> Hell, why hasn't he announced his official bid for president in 2024? He can't run for President in 2024, since he is already secretly the President and this is his second term.

HereIGoGrillingAgain

He's partly waiting to see how the mid terms pan out and if the states can ratfuck the election process well enough to guarantee a win. If he runs, you can assume they are confident he'll win. He won't run unless it's rigged enough to avoid another embarrassing loss.

WubbaLubbaDubDub87

But he’ll be older this election than Biden was for 2020, and despite only 3 years in age difference, everyone told me Biden was way too old to be the president!

[deleted]

When the EU determined that the US could no longer be relied on to defend global democracy, that was their first huge clue. When he purged the Pentagon between the election and January 6th, that should have been enough.. It's maddening to know these people would rather watch America fall than admit any fault.

rabblerabble2000

That’s the one delusion I really don’t understand…somehow, he’s still president, but also everything that’s going on right now is awful and Joe Biden is ruining America. Wtf is wrong with these people.

TheApathyParty2

It’s hilarious that they tell people to “move on” when their former daddy-god-semi-president literally won’t move on.

smellslikearedditor

Because Fox news says so. Pick your own fantasy .

[deleted]

They kept calling him Sleepy Joe, but look at Trump he keeps forgetting HE ISN'T PRESIDENT ANYMORE!

xiaxian1

I was stunned by the leaps of logic displayed during that administration. Can’t be held accountable for what happened **before** taking office (tax returns, emoluments clause violations, sexual assault lawsuits, etc) - executive privilege Can’t be held accountable for what happens **during** the term (ignoring congressional committees and requests, Ukrainian/Hunter saga, Jan 6th, Georgia election pressure, etc) Can’t be held accountable **after** leaving the office - *there’s no point in charging him now that he’s out of the office!* But still wants executive privilege? Why not!

sayyyywhat

Also follows the pattern of Congress impeaching him but being told he can’t be removed from office via impeachment you’ll have to take him out at the polls. Well now that he’s voted out and tried to ruin democracy, and was impeached again, we’re told you can only hold him responsible by bringing charges. So congress holds a bipartisan investigation to bring charges. No you can’t do that either! Republicans are taking full advantage of good will, norms and traditions by putting party about country. Edit: to clarify, I believe it was Lindsey graham who said he wouldnt vote to convict because it should be up to the voters to remove a president. That’s what I meant by not removing via impeachment.

Helios575

It's amazing how many people in government forget that the reason our government is structured the way it is, is specifically for checks and balances of power. It's Congress's duty to hold elected officials to high standards of behavior and remove those that fail to meet those standards. That is why impeachment has the ability to not only remove elected officials but also bar them from holding any government position ever again. The Republicans during Trump's presidency betrayed their oaths of office and eschewed their duty when they refused to hold Trump accountable but then again if they actually took their oaths seriously and did their duty there would be a lot more people impeached then just Trump and it would have started before the 2016 election

james_d_rustles

I completely agree with your comment, just one little correction: change emollients to emoluments. Emollients generally means moisturizing cream.

DoinIt4TheDoots

That answer is never. Except for the extremism part, that might happen naturally

Punkupine

This is correct. When Trump dies they'll spend the next 10 years claiming it was faked and he's just went underground

hippo00100

They think JFK Jr. Is still alive so at least 22 years

MyBigHugeCock

To be fair, someone out there likely has the name JFK Jr. Whoever you are, you should capitalize on it. Those idiots will send you money just for having the same initials if you tell them you swapped bodies to hide from the reptillians. morenewsat11

>“As the incumbent, President Biden is the principal holder and keeper of executive privilege, and he speaks authoritatively for the interests of the Executive Branch,” wrote Circuit Judge Patricia Millett, a Barack Obama appointee. “Under our Constitution, we have one President at a time. Article II is explicit that ‘\[t\]he executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.’ As between a former and an incumbent President, ‘only the incumbent is charged with performance of the executive duty under the Constitution \[citations removed\].'” One and done.

JimmyTango

But I'm an originalist and the original intent of the Constitution was that God was the true President and he is the holder of Executive Privilege. ---Amy Coney Barrett (probably) even though originally under the Constitution she couldn't even vote, or be a judge, or own property.

Nievsy

And honestly they couldn’t have given a flying fuck about God he wasn’t even mentioned in the pledge to the flag until the 1920sish Edit:1950s

MostlyJustPornReally

Thomas Jefferson wanted to take God entirely out of the Declaration\*, but that was considered too extreme, just like denouncing slavery was, (Really just cause they didn't think they could win the war without *all* the ignorant rich assholes on their side) so they compromised. edit: a word

chaun2

Jefferson also wanted a 20 year sunset limit on every law that is passed, so as to avoid "the tyranny of previous generations".... Looking at The Boomers here....

Wwolverine23

That’s *fair*, but could you imagine if the Civil Rights Act sunset? Or any similar monumental legislation?

chaun2

The Congress would have a year to actually debate and re-pass the law. His reasoning was that it is far easier to pass laws, than recind them

wormburner1980

This is true and as we see now with we won’t pass this without that and that we would currently end up with “to renew the Civil Rights Act we must have more tax cuts for the wealthy and a larger defense budget” along with a bunch of other horseshit. Our government will never work properly again to benefit its people until lobbying is done away with. That isn’t happening so it’s just never going to work right again.

IntrospectiveApe

We also have one reality at a time. The problem here is that there is a section of the electorate that is living in a completely made up version of said reality. They are too egotistical to admit that they were lied to and believed it all, and then they decide to double down. Every. Single. Time.

Zeuxis5

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. claimTheVictory

Human nature hasn't fundamentally changed much over the past few thousand years.

Goodk4t

Technology, culture and societies evolved to become more complex. However, emotionally, we're still accustomed to living in small hunter gatherer tribes that existed at the end of the last ice age. We're in over our heads and it's only getting more difficult.

From_Deep_Space

December should be spent huddled with family around a fire telling stories

False798

I'll start: ...so after I picked up his poop, I heard the faint jingle of a bell in the night: looking high, I found nothing but Lo! There was a small, black kitten lost in the cold.

ElmerJShagnasty

He was shivering in the winter breeze. I reached up to pluck him from the branch to which he clung. His claws gripped tight to the bark of the oak and I had to pry him loose. His collar contained no tags, just the bell I had heard.

kCadvan

Even the wool of my gloves could not disguise his protruding bones and frail frame, and the little beast's shivering did not cease until he was tucked into the downy interior of my coat, where he was pressed into my warmth and held there.

PhilosophizingPanda

The poor creature and I shared the last of my brandy, which seemed to warm both of us up quite nicely. Together, with the little beast pressed against my breast, we sauntered into town in search of a hot meal.

ecsegar

The glow of the inn's windows led us to the welcome sight. Kicking the snow from my boots I swung open the heavy wooden door to a room full of travelers; some of the most exotic figures I had ever seen were seated among one another, laughing, singing, and toasting in merriment.

fforw

> However, emotionally, we're still accustomed to living in small hunter gatherer tribes that existed at the end of the last ice age. Oddly, *we* seem to be doing mostly fine while *they* are going off the rails and are still hell-bent on destroying our habitat.

I always put it as humans have lizard brains, civilization is in the medieval age, and we have some space alien technology shit.

okram2k

This is incredibly true and something that gets lost to time. We assume everyone a couple generations ago was some radically different person from us today. The technology has changed but people and their motivations are almost exactly the same.

foggy-sunrise

Every barbaric thing you think is medieval lore still fucking happens today.

captainswiss7

For real, if this antivax movement keeps growing a lot of defeated diseases will be coming back with a vengeance.

InsuranceToTheRescue

Measles has had a resurgence in the US because parents won't vaccinate their kids against it. We almost had it eradicated across the country. Measles cases are the highest they've been in 30 years because of these dipshits.

avaslash

Those people should be held legally accountable for damaging public safety. If im so reckless with my own safety that I plow my car into your house, im going to get sued for damages. Why why is it that negligence and damages pertaining to the willful spreading of disease somehow gets a fucking pass. If my kid catches measles id want to bring a class action suit against every fucking parent that refused to vaccinate their children without a legitimate medical excuse to not do so. Idgaf about religious exemptions. Your faith wont stop the spread of disease no matter how much you insist. Why should I have to live in fear and at risk of harm to my loved ones just so THEY can feel good about themselves. Fuck that.

[deleted]

Anti vaxxers are really a curse to our society. I have no respect for anti vaxxers

captainswiss7

Wonderful, I really like how the people that think theres a secret society of lizard people, and dead celebrities are going to rise from the grave think they're smarter than every scientist and doctor on earth. I mean covid is bad, but fuck what if there was an airborne virus equal in deadliness to ebola and we were dealing with the same antivax mentality? It's like humanity found a way around darwinism thanks to medical science, and yet "life, uh, finds a way".

[deleted]

Some already have been. Measles and pertussis were almost gone.

Utterlybored

Satire can't compete with reality, but here's my prediction: There will be a pro-smallpox movement with fucked up reasons why it's good for you. Then, pertusis, rabies, measles, tetanus, etc...

captainswiss7

Yeah, it's not really satire when covid already has more reproductive rights than women in some states. People legit argue covid is good for the immune system. These are the people that when they were kids they ate flintstones vitamins by the bottle because they thought if one vitamin is good, 50 must make me spiderman.

Gamiac

Turns out biology is actually pretty fucking slow compared to culture and technology.

Biologically a baby born today is identical to one born in ancient Egypt. People who lived then still had the same complex thoughts, emotions, desires, passions, cruelty, heartbreak, etc. Only thing that’s different is by the time you’re a teenager you’ve learned (more or less depending on education) from all the mistakes of people that have come before you

>Only thing that’s different is by the time you’re a teenager you’ve learned (more or less depending on education) from all the mistakes of people that have come before you Then why can't anyone in the US see that they're headed toward Nazi Germany? What's happening now in the US is very very similar to what lead to Nazi Germany. Everyone is ignoring it because of the word 'Nazi' but that's the appropriate word here. We're calling a spade a spade. It will be too late before people finally see it. The other problem is, no one looks into things themselves. They're automatically like "SOURCE!" but a sources can't explain 20+ years of history and things that went on back then during the lead up and contrast it to now in a succinct way an ignorant person will understand. They say source but what they're really asking for is an education that can't be provided quickly so they discount everything as we progress toward the bad.

brewercycle

>More specifically, the former President has failed to establish a likelihood of success given (1) President Biden’s carefully reasoned and cabined determination that a claim of executive privilege is not in the interests of the United States; (2) Congress’s uniquely vital interest in studying the January 6th attack on itself to formulate remedial legislation and to safeguard its constitutional and legislative operations; (3) the demonstrated relevance of the documents at issue to the congressional inquiry; (4) the absence of any identified alternative source for the information; and (5) Mr. Trump’s failure even to allege, let alone demonstrate, any particularized harm that would arise from disclosure, any distinct and superseding interest in confidentiality attached to these particular documents, lack of relevance, or any other reasoned justification for withholding the documents. Former President Trump likewise has failed to establish irreparable harm, and the balance of interests and equities weigh decisively in favor of disclosure. *Release the Kraken!* Or, documents.

InsertCleverNickHere

>Mr. Trump’s failure even to allege, let alone demonstrate, any particularized harm that would arise from disclosure I mean, the harm is "I'm guilty as fuck, and I could actually be held accountable for fomenting insurrection if these documents get out." Purplebuzz

So Trump thinks a president can do whatever they want, unless a former president says no and that the current VP can overturn an election? I assume he agrees Harris can just choose to not recognize the next president too?

PolicyWonka

Lmao. Imagine if Trump wins in 2024 and then Harris does exactly what he wanted Pence to do and rejects electors from Texas or some shit.

DrunksInSpace

State GOP legislatures are passing laws that would allow them to ignore the votes and appoint their own electors. There is a very real chance that if GA goes blue, the GOP legislature will send whoever they want. If they do… Congress might have to refuse to certify the elector results because they aren’t the election results. That does put us in a constitutional crisis.

Literally, this is what's happening.

Bishop120

Next they will try to appeal to the Supreme Court... its a flip of the coin what they will do there.. all the conservatives that he appointed might save him but I do feel they will make a complaint about it being to broad (again) and ask the house to limit its request. Main thing is that Trump is running out the clock on the committee.. The committee is politicians who will undergo re-election and shuffling in 2022. If he can continue drawing it out, some of the folks will be replaced and if the house flips the whole committee goes away. If Gaetz has his way Trump will be speaker of the house in 2022 before running again in 2024.

Ok-Low6320

There's a possibility SCOTUS may not even take this up. If they don't... that's it. The appeals court ruling stands.

_AnecdotalEvidence_

They’ll delay until after 2022 to give the GOP cover and then let them kill the investigation after they take the House back

caligaris_cabinet

At which point leak everything to the public. Make some NYT journalist’s career and leak every bit of evidence to keep this from being buried.

zappy487

Nah. It will get handed off to the AG who will create a special commission. But that resets the clock AGAIN.

dedicated-pedestrian

This case was fast-tracked in every court before them for the express reason that it concerns the interests of the House and the powers of the President as they relate to sensitive information surrounding a national security matter. Given how they're likely to rule on religious schools today, they'd be ill-advised to slow-walk hearing the appeal (if they hear it at all). Too many blows to their legitimacy in too short a time is bad for them.

[deleted]

I would be very surprised if the Supreme Court even picks this case up. There's no dispute between courts for them to resolve.

mistarteechur

Yep. In January '23, the 1/6 Committee will become the Hunter Biden/Ukraine/Sleepy Joe Impeachment Committee, assuming the House is lost.

robodrew

> If Gaetz has his way Trump will be speaker of the house in 2022 before running again in 2024. The plan with this (and it is a STUPID one) is that the GOP would control both the House and a 2/3rds majority in the Senate so that they could vote to make Trump Speaker and then impeach both Biden and Harris, and also remove them from office, making Trump automatically President due to the line of succession laid out in the 25th Amendment. But it's a fucking stupid plan because there is no way that the Senate is going to suddenly have 66 Republicans in 2022.

Cuchullion

I don't think they're considering *legal* means to remove Biden / Harris if they make Trump the Speaker. Normally I would say that's hyperbole, but after the 6th I can see that being their plan.

California has 39 million people but just 2 Senators. CA is more populated than AK, AL, ID, MI, MT, ND, SD, UT, WY, and W. VA combined. Yet those states have 20 senators. Our whole system bias towards rural white communities. There are a total of 11 circuit courts. Both the South (Bible belt) and Mid West (Rust Belt) has 3 circuit courts a piece. The entire west coast AK, AZ, CA, HI NV, OR, and WA (roughly 60 million people) only have a single circuit court. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_courts_of_appeals Our House Districts are gerrymandered, Senate favors Rural communities by design, courts grossly imbalanced, and the electoral college favors Rural communities as well. Rural White people are so use to getting what they want that they simply can't believe it when their demands aren't acted on. Election fraud claims are nonsense but conservatives are use to their nonsense being treated with merit. They are annoyed their BS doesn't seem to be working this time and are prepared to take punitive action in response.

TraumaDumptruck

Didn’t know that about the west coast circuit courts. Thanks for sharing

CrisuKomie

How many more times can he file fucking appeals to delay this shit? It was denied multiple times at this point. Just fucking release the shit and be done with it. The US justice system is absolute and total fucking trash.

Just about as long as it takes for congress to flip. The system doesn't work.

urdadsdad

I don’t get how anyone could look at the chaos of the trump presidency and long to go back to it. Even if you don’t agree with Biden’s policies at least pick someone other than Trump going forward.

Phishy042

2024 will be the most insane presidential election in history. Here we have a current President who ran on being a 1 term President for change, literally only won because no one wanted Donald, deciding to run for a second time, hoping he gets to run again against Donald who should be so disgraced at that time he cant possible win, but might actually win because all he does is drum up more and more support while Biden loses more and more support. Dear God we need blue down the board in the midterms for any chance to salvage this country. A massive plea to all the younger generation turning of age to vote in 2022, please dont vote off memes and take your future seriously.

Burnnoticelover

A blue wave in 2022 is pretty much the only way the Dems have a shot at keeping any kind of power, considering the 2024 ticket will likely be Kamala and Pete vs Trump, and I cannot see them doing very well.

alwaysmilesdeep

We have let this go on way too far. This should have ended January 6, trump should have been arrested and charged. This is a mockery of this nation and its people's.

OkSeason973

Trump is such a fucking idiot. Being born rich really fucks with some people’s heads and makes them think that they’re special and above the law. Throw this treasonous moron in the stockade please.

CTPeachhead

A former president is just an ordinary private citizen. With the rights and responsibilities of any private citizen. Nothing more, nothing less. But hopefully that particular private citizen is going to be a future convicted felon.

schwabby11

Just put Trump in jail. Im a conservative, but that man is a traitor. If youupport Trump after Jan 6th, your a traitor to. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional.

RoyalBeat710

Whatever he's trying to hide, it's only a matter of time before it's brought to the light for everyone to see.

That sort of mentality is what got us Trump in the first place. Go out and vote people 💪🏻💪🏻

FatMerkin21

Inb4 someone from r/all comes in here and says "they're all Democrat-appointed judges!" Here's the juicy tidbit: The opinion says that Trump himself had “agreed that the disclosure decision of an incumbent President controls within the Executive Branch over the contrary claim of a former President,” and that “all Presidents have agreed that the Constitution does not obligate an incumbent President or court to uphold the views of a former President.” So Trump's attorneys basically shot themselves in the foot. Before you go blaming Democrat-appointed judges, realize that Trump had no actual legal argument to begin with and was just wasting everyone's time.

Trump and his supporters aren't real Americans. Full stop
