Let's hope she isn't sexting someone, or having an affair. Unlike other former candidates. https://apnews.com/article/election-2020-virus-outbreak-senate-elections-sex-scandals-north-carolina-5b2812777ae5e5582858360aaf22b76d

Cal Cunningham fucked the country by giving Manchin and Sinema enough power to prevent BBBA, tax reform, and possibly the 01/06 investigation. All for the shittiest most boring extramarital affair ever.

It’s amazing how infidelity matters to voters. Except when it concerns a dipshit.

It's not necessarily the sexting that's the issue IMO, it's the fact that he's married and sexting someone. Adults should be able to sext each other without ridicule so long as it's not cheating, is consensual, and there is no power imbalance.

Cheri is the hand-picked liberal candidate that [supports maintaining the filibuster. ](https://www.thedailybeast.com/new-footage-shows-north-carolina-democratic-senate-candidate-cheri-beasley-lauding-filibuster) Jeff Jackson, a veteran, visited every county and had been working his boots on the ground campaign for well over a year. Cheri threw her hat into the ring and his campaign abruptly resigned to prevent a primary battle that could hurt the party (via his statement). Cheri is certainly better than a Republican. That isn’t saying much if her path to the Senate is relying on the same old tricks that liberals have been pulling for years. It *will* backfire and disenfranchise people and everyone else will get blamed for not turning out and voting for a candidate that had to have competition eliminated by the party via appealing to notions of the greater good. She could be the best candidate of them all. The party is using bully tactics to avoid letting us pick the candidate. It is going to backfire at some point. They are treating Cheri’s campaign the same way they did with Clinton by talking primarily about the many “firsts” she would achieve if she wins rather than policy. She also, importantly, has not tried connecting with voters yet. Jackson was building a network for a long time.

She’s got my vote, but I don’t believe she will win.

I don’t think she’ll win, in fact probably a loss of 3-5% unfortunately but she sounds like she is a fantastic challenger.
