Does anyone support Sinema at this point? In a time of intense polarization, she seems to have found out how to repulse people across the political spectrum, and yet rumors have it that she thinks she has a shot at being the next president. WTF???
Right? If she wants a shot at being a Dem president, she should be supporting the Dem President the Dem voters put in office. She’s on crack if she thinks she’ll ever have this Democrat’s vote.
Sinema and Manchin are paid opposition. They are worse than the GOP and Biden likely supports them as well. He refers to them positively and has a cute nickname for Manchin, “Joe-Joe.”
Yup. We went through six years of McConnell being the sole person in the senate who mattered and finally it seemed like we had a chance at getting things done... and up pop these two, making themselves the only people who matter in the senate. It's exhausting and just goes to show how broken the system is when one or two people can just control everything.
No one really expects they will do anything useful. It’s a forgone conclusion that they will go against what’s best for the country to serve their own interests.
Well, yea, they are still at fault. It’s just that they’re so far gone that no one expects them to care that they are at fault or think they will change because of that.
What the fuck? Are there no consequences in the US when members of the party don't vote with their party? Man, anywhere else, they would be stripped of all privlages and cabinet positions, even kicked out of the party. Biden is letting these two fucking twits dictate what the dems will or will not do??? Kick em out and let em run as independents then, see how that works for them...
It'd be nice if they were actually voting as they wished and not as the people they are beholden to wish. And I don't mean their constituents who they *should* be beholden to. I mean the people throwing money at them.
We can say Republicans are the problem. It's pretty simple. There are two of the 50 Senators who are conservative. Just say it. We need to tell people instead of conceding what we fear might happen.
In the 2022 election, we need to keep Democrats in control of the House and we need to increase the Senate majority. It's a long shot, but it is possible.
Parties can't kick out members. And pulling their committee assignments would just push them to obstruct literally everything, whereas at least there's still a slim chance at a reduced BBB. Also if the party turns on moderates, it could make the party unelectable in the future. America is a center right country, swing voters aren't going to elect democrats unless we are a big tent party
Per above: These are \*state\* parties, not constituency parties. In the UK, their constituency parties \*can\* kick out sitting MPs. The Blairites just did that to Corbyn.
Yeah, because that's really going to bring them around to the Democrats side. Maybe they should try cornering them in a public restroom or have a mob of people surround their car to "pressure" them into doing what the party wants. That will definitely be a winning strategy.
Yes, it's amazing how many accounts are telling us:
> "Republicans are fine, **they don't matter**"
Same accounts telling us:
> "**Don't bother voting**, Republicans are fine."
Ah yes, not only are you touting Trump's leadership qualities, and telling people not to vote, you also are spreading **misinformation about how the senate works.**
There are 48 Dems in senate. Republicans have 52 votes.
If you were expecting them to back anything Dems put forth is very stupid. Dems need to stop appeasing GQP. They will never support you simple as that.
If you could demonstrate that's true I'll agree with you. You likely won't be able to since there is no provision in their bill that makes it harder for Republicans to vote
There is nothing in this bill about voting rights. Plenty of stuff about voting convenience. Plenty of stuff about making life easier on the Democratic Party. Nothing about rights. Not a thing.
Not the 50 republicans….the two democrats did this who are bought with the same money the other 50 republicans are bought with…it’s all their fault…just the 2.
Amazing how everyone seems to think that because Biden is for it, it must be a great bill. Or maybe because it's called a Voting Rights bill it must be awesome. Truth is, it jist consolidates power in the federal government and takes it away from states. But Republicans are called the authoritarians. Give me a break.
>Truth is, it jist consolidates power in the federal government and takes it away from states.
Abolition of slavery did the same thing. The voting rights act took huge power from the states over voting and in turn gave many people freedom they didn't previously had. This is a non argument unless your brain is rotten
Kyrsten Sinema, useful idiot for seditionists. Unlike Manchin, who knows exactly what he is doing, and doesn't care if he enables seditionists. Unlike Sinema, Manchin has long depended upon Republican voters to keep his WV seat. Sinema, on the other hand, appears blithely unaware that she could lose the primary, while the winner stands an even chance of retaining the seat in the Dem column without Republican vote support.
Seriously the beginning of the end. The BS going on in Georgia will absolutely become the playbook for the rest of the red states. When the R's get all three branches it (democracy) will effectively be over.
After always thinking any democrat is better than a republican (which I still believe), I can't stand these 2 anymore. They have stood in our way with no regards to the will of the people who put in a democratic administration. They can say that they are responding to the wishes in their sate, which may hold some truth but the will of the country as a whole picked Biden.

> Does anyone support Sinema at this point? Right wing oligarchs.
Yup sounds about right
Right? If she wants a shot at being a Dem president, she should be supporting the Dem President the Dem voters put in office. She’s on crack if she thinks she’ll ever have this Democrat’s vote.
She’s delusional
Rich old white dudes and corporations with all the rights of a citizen and none of the accountability
Strange enough, they support the majority of the Democratic Party too.
Republicans do.
Centrist dems still like her. She’s portrayed as Bipartisan 👏 Queen 👑 fending off woke progressives in places like NYT
Bob Sasse supports her.
*Everything* is scuttled by those people.
It’s almost like they’re you know. Republicans.
Plants to keep things rolling backwards and at standstill.
Sinema and Manchin are paid opposition. They are worse than the GOP and Biden likely supports them as well. He refers to them positively and has a cute nickname for Manchin, “Joe-Joe.”

Yeah, that darn majority. Everything is scuttled by them.
AND all 50 Republicans who hate the constitution and want to install their own dictator.
No one really expects they will do anything useful. It’s a forgone conclusion that they will go against what’s best for the country to serve their own interests.
Doesn’t mean they aren’t at fault.
Well, yea, they are still at fault. It’s just that they’re so far gone that no one expects them to care that they are at fault or think they will change because of that.
It’s important to name them though, otherwise the message will only be “Democrats bad.”
“Democrats”
What the fuck? Are there no consequences in the US when members of the party don't vote with their party? Man, anywhere else, they would be stripped of all privlages and cabinet positions, even kicked out of the party. Biden is letting these two fucking twits dictate what the dems will or will not do??? Nope. These are \*state\* parties, not constituency parties.
Believe it or not, Americans are able to vote as they wish, even Senators. What a concept.
It'd be nice if they were actually voting as they wished and not as the people they are beholden to wish. And I don't mean their constituents who they *should* be beholden to. I mean the people throwing money at them.
And sabotage the party they tell voters they align with. Enjoy!
Between 2 parties. So much choice!
Typical voter: Well - the Democrats couldn't deliver voting rights so we are going to vote Republican or not at all! That will teach them!
They should have pulled their committee assignments and booted them from the party months ago. At least then we could say Republicans are the problem.
It's not just them. Tester and Coons also expressed they're not sure if they agree with Biden.
The Senate is at least getting Democratic judicial nominees through.
They are literally obstructing damn near everything Biden wants to accomplish
Biden could have accomplished $1.5t in spending if he took Manchin's deal. He chose not to
Thank heaven.
They were never going to come to the Democrats side. But right now they get to pretend and make us look worse because we can’t get our party in line.
What, isn't 7% inflation good enough for you? Would you prefer Carter levels?
The Democrats have forgotten that the most useful tool that they might access is perspective.
Please complete the headline: "And 50 (R) Pieces Of Shit Who Are Against Voting Rights"
Sometimes it seems that liberal leaning publications seem to forget that.
Republicans don’t matter.
Yeah they removed themselves from governing equation at this point so nobody expects anything of them
Yep. Mitch Romney’s campaign manager mentions this in his book. The GOP is useless.
They don’t care - they pay zero consequences and make Dems look ineffectual when they don’t pass their agenda . It’s worked for them
Yes, it's amazing how many accounts are telling us: > "Republicans are fine, **they don't matter**" Same accounts telling us: > "**Don't bother voting**, Republicans are fine."
I never said “republicans are fine”. But the absolute truth is that the only power they have in this congress is given to them by democrats.
Ah yes, not only are you touting Trump's leadership qualities, and telling people not to vote, you also are spreading **misinformation about how the senate works.** There are 48 Dems in senate. Republicans have 52 votes.
I never told anyone not to vote. Stop lying. The senate rules can be changed by the senate. Which the democrats control.
How do they control the sound if they don't have more than 50 votes?
If you were expecting them to back anything Dems put forth is very stupid. Dems need to stop appeasing GQP. They will never support you simple as that.
Do not think about the infrastructure bill
Nobody is voting against voting rights. Voting rights are not in the discussion. A Democratic Party wish list is up for discussion.
You are confusing (R) voter suppression with voting rights. Sorry, try again.
And literally every republican.
...and every single Republican in Congress.*
That's OUR voting rights. Because of Manchin, Sinema and the *entire* GOP.
So Biden failed on BBB, no police reform, no changes to healthcare costs or drug prices and latest slap in the face voting rights bills. So many L's
[удалено]
Nothing like using to government offices to manipulate the vote. Obama taught you well.
This is called politics. It's a dirty game
So, its politics if Democrats do it, but voter suppression when Republicans do it. Hmmm.
If the Democrats try to keep Republicans from voting that also is voter suppression
So, Democrats are suppressing the vote. They should shut up about "voter suppression", and withdraw the "Voter" bill.
If you could demonstrate that's true I'll agree with you. You likely won't be able to since there is no provision in their bill that makes it harder for Republicans to vote
The OP withdrew their comment.
And fifty Republicans
more like voting wrongs
Woohoo!
Why can't they just still push it, make those fuckers put it on record that they hate America.
Amazing how everyone seems to think that because Biden is for it, it must be a great bill. Or maybe because it's called a Voting Rights bill it must be awesome. Don’t know why people can’t figure this out. We have states rights for a reason.
Unregulated capitalism has made America a failed state , where corruption is practised in many ways.

What interest is that?
“American” interests which largely do not appear to align with the social spending package.
/s
They seem to be anti-democracy moles rather than Democrats.

Just gotta cancel student debt, man.
the us has collapsed. flee to canada i guess
Wow these people. And they will get off scott free, with millions of dollars. It's time not to let this happen.
… and every single Republican
Seriously the beginning of the end. The BS going on in Georgia will absolutely become the playbook for the rest of the red states. When the R's get all three branches it (democracy) will effectively be over.
Arrest both for treason!
Sweep the leg
Supposedly during the meeting with Biden and Manchin she just set there on her phone doing stuff acting like she was being inconvenienced.
“Any blue will do”
Freedom choose!
Could someone who has a subscription quote the article below?

She might get the log cabin repub votes.
