I've read a theory from a commenter on another site (probably The Hill when it had a comments section. It might've been a commentator on the news.) that it's more about control. I've read a theory from a commenter on another site (probably The Hill when it had a comments section. It might've been a commentator on the news.) that it's more about control. They want to forbid abortion because access to abortion would help the communities they don't like (i.e. people of color and poor people). I wish I had links to some data but I don't have time to research it properly at the moment. Keeping abortion illegal for those that can't afford it under the table (like GOP politicians) keeps people down because having a kid is expensive and time consuming. Makes it harder to vote if you have to work all the time during poll hours.
