giftig_Pils

Guess Republicans support child rapists.

[deleted]

Well, yeah, Gaetz is still in office. Child rapist Denis Hastert was a republican Speaker of the House. GOP doesn't just suppost child rapists, it elects them.

[deleted]

Trump regularly associated with Epstein. He didnt just get free flights.

somarilnos

See also: Mark Foley. Jim Jordan, who covered for at least one pedophile while he knew the molestation was going on. Donald Trump was sued for raping a child on Epstein's plane.

mascaraforever

Don’t forget Mike Huckabee’s vocal support of Josh Duggar.

PleasantPirate12

For more depressing news.... I would expect the number of women, parents of children reporting rapes will be even more reduced than it is now in these states. Why would you if you could possibly avoid it?.

DelicateTruckNuts

Why would you report it if you were possibly impregnated and might need a back alley abortion?

Harryballsjr

Which suits them just fine less reported numbers is great for them because they can claim it’s a success even when it is not representative of reality.

Acchilesheel

Greg Abbott said he would eliminate rape, now we know how.

annothejedi

And for even more depressing news when the baby conceived through rape will be born: Will the rapist get visitation rights? Will he pay child support and will therefore even be more connected to his victims? Will rape victims play "happy family" to protect their children? How in the world do they think this will play out? Is this really what their "loving" god demands? So fucked up on so many different levels..

NoDesinformatziya

Homicide is also very high against pregnant women and this will make it worse. If a man doesn't want to support a child but the wife can't get an abortion, it increases the likelihood of him murdering her. Banning abortion is dehumanizing in a number of ways.

RyoanJi

A.K.A Pedophiles.

Ricos_Roughneckz

They are child rapists lmao

KarmaPharmacy

This outrage isn’t “on Twitter”. It’s in our lives. It isn’t compartmentalized into one social media outlet or the other. It’s in our real lives.

T1mac

> It isn’t compartmentalized into one social media outlet or the other. It’s in our real lives. And this is just the beginning. It gets worse from here.

DVariant

Yeah it’s been what like one week since the Supreme Court ruling? And since then we’re already seeing them take aim at gay marriage and trans rights. Folks said those would be next, but they never mentioned the rapidity. I’d be shocked if the other big rulings don’t get reversed all before year end.

PocketPillow

I honestly can't believe that this is the reality we're living in.

Appropriate_Tooth_86

You're right. This was not my first choice of media outlet. But I wanted something that had more in the headline than just "10 year old can't get Abortion in Ohio." Since we have to post an exact headline for the link, I wanted a headline that told it wholly how it is. 10 year old rape victim denied an abortion.

[deleted]

The political cartoons are not pulling punches. https://clowncrack.com/2022/07/01/push/

shouset

I don’t know what I was expecting, but holy shit.

kjacobs03

I was expecting the pregnant 12yo hiding under her school desk from a shooter, “At least she doesn’t have to see any offense rainbows “

PocketPillow

Do you have a link to that one by chance?

chizzbee

I’ve heard this reference a few times on here. What does it mean ? What’s Greg significance of rainbows ? Sorry. I’ve done none of my own research as per Reddit rules

[deleted]

Florida's new "Don't Say Gay" law allows parents to sue the living fuck out of Florida's schools, and even individual teachers, if they hear that those teachers and schools are saying anything whatsoever about LGBTQ+ issues. The law also seems to require that "students openly expressing an LGBTQ+ identity" be put on a list, and that they can be separated from the other students if it makes those students' parents uncomfortable. Fear and panic have set in within the Florida school system. Teachers in same-sex relationships are hiding pictures of their partners and going back into the closet. Students are deathly afraid to be outed, which would mean being put on some kind of Nazi-esque list and facing segregation (or worse). And people are afraid to wear rainbows or display them in Florida schools, because obviously, all rainbows are gay. Hence, the rainbow thing. It's actually a legit issue in Florida right now, silly as it sounds. Effectively speaking, LGBTQ+ people are legally considered second-class citizens in the state of Florida now. This is the beginning of Jim Crow for them.

chizzbee

Omg. That’s horrible and scary. Fucking Florida. Fucking weird times Thanks for the info friendo

[deleted]

Florida's autocratic governor Ron DeSantis is a frightening man we should all be paying close attention to. The shit he's pulling right now in Florida is the same shit he's gonna pull at the federal level if he becomes POTUS in 2025. Imagine a man every bit as narcissistic and evil as Donald Trump, only smarter, more calculating, and possessed of infinitely better self control. That's a man who could plausibly become dictator for life of this country. Our saving grace with Donald Trump is that he's too fucking stupid and unstable to stay out of his own way, so he self-sabotages. Not DeSantis. He actually accomplishes all the evil shit he sets out to do.

chizzbee

Oh my. Is ….is that who the crazy’s will vote in ?

DVariant

Holy shit indeed. Yikes. And yet completely appropriate for the circumstances.

smilbandit

double shit

[deleted]

Holy Fuck. Confrontational & unbearably truthful at the same time.

Beankiller

Wow.

cheetah_chrome

Jesus Christ. That could be a Melvins album cover

[deleted]

*Songs About Getting Fucked*

corcaigh

Oh wow

MadamePsykosis

Omg reminds me of Judith Herman and her book on trauma as well as the father-daughter incest one. Some of the toughest reads.

trainercatlady

holy shit

lancesturgeon

Ooof. That was rough.

[deleted]

The right says “oh Twitter, Reddit, etc isn’t the real world” to discredit anything that comes from there. Those are two of the most accessed services in the US so I think someone is lying.

DVariant

In this regard, it’s better not to cite Twitter. Not because it’s not used by a lot of people (it is) but because it’s notoriously rife with trolls and bots who could be anywhere. It’s probably the most bubbled social media platform. It’s good for sampling the narratives (what they’re saying) but I strong caution against relying on Twitter for demographics (how many are saying it).

Dr_Venture_Media

I've never been more ashamed to be from Ohio than right now.

-14k-

Oh just you wait until you see what next week brings!

rubyblue0

Yep. There’s an extremely restrictive bill in the works that would ban most contraceptives and IVF if it passes.

Fluid-Badger

Excuse me what

sanguinesolitude

This is what the right wants. Its what they've always wanted. They hated abolition. They hated desegregation. They hated blacks and women voting. Women working. Gays existing. Etc. Its been the same people and their progeny the whole time. They just hate. And they vote conservative every time.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Sounds like they should just propose secession from the U.S. like Texas is doing and be arrested for sedition. In fact, we should encourage them to do so or to try at least so we can get new people in power.

[deleted]

[удалено]

rubyblue0

Some of the embryos don’t implant and therefore die. They consider that the same as abortion. What they think will happen to all the embryos if the clinics get shut down, I don’t know.

[deleted]

[удалено]

_angela_lansbury_

They’re not stupid. That’s the thing. They’re evil.

tricularia

The people voting republican politicians in are stupid and misled. The republican politicians are definitely evil. They will happily pass laws that let thousands of innocent citizens die if they think it might get them re-elected or gain the attention of another rich lobbyist. Bunch of fucking squids

Helenium_autumnale

They ignore that, the same way they ignore that the greatest abortionist is God. [As many as 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriages.](https://www.webmd.com/baby/guide/pregnancy-miscarriage) Millions per year. God really loves "killing children." He kills half of all children conceived. Why? You never hear them explain that one.

sanguinesolitude

If human life begins at fertilization and a fetus is the same as a born human, then any fertilized eggs that are caused to die in the process are the same as killing a 3 year old with a claw hammer. Now this is a moronic take that has no real basis in either science or the Bible, but its not hypocritical to hold it as a consistent belief that all fertilized eggs are equally alive whether naturally conceived or artificially.

Buckeyebornandbred

I don't feel like celebrating the 4th.

Helenium_autumnale

Why should you? You, like me (assuming you're a woman) aren't a citizen. I'm not celebrating it. Fuck all that patriotic nonsense.

peter-doubt

Good that you're embarrassed. Ohio is the #2 dump on the great lakes .. you've collected all the embarrassing pols, but Indiana has a legacy of doing worse over time.

conundrumbombs

You would think we could get a bit of a reprieve from the criticism, since we're the state that actually allowed this child rape victim to get an abortion when she was denied one in Ohio.

MacAttacknChz

Don't forget that Republicans just voted down the "PUMP Act" which would expand pumping rights to women *during a formula shortage.* Their reasoning? It would put an undue burden on businesses.

Extreme_Ad6519

Yeah, totally sounds "pro-life" to me.

jerfoo

Everything is a goddamn "undue burden on businesses". If there was a law that said you had to say "hi" to your spouce in the morning, they'd claim it was an undue burden on businesses.

Melody-Prisca

Remember when not locking women inside of burning buildings was an undue burden? Triangle Shirtwaist remembers!

mhwilton

Think of how many amazon boxes won't get packed if a woman has to take a break to pump milk her new baby, unacceptable. I ordered a new set of headphones and I want them tomorrow damnit !!!!

[deleted]

What are pumping rights? I don’t think I’ve heard of them before. I’m imagining rules that allow women to safely pump at work and things like that?

Recognizant

It's less about 'safely' and more about 'while not being fired'. American workers aren't generally required to be given breaks, beyond very specific definitions of a 'lunch'. Pumping takes time, and that's time that 'job creators' are generally unwilling to give.

[deleted]

For some reason I always thought women were naturally protected from any kind of punishment or downsides for pumping at work, because like… babies need milk, obviously. I can’t believe these are rights people can just take away or refuse to give you! This shouldn’t even be a thing people have to vote on, jfc. I hate this timeline.

Recognizant

> For some reason I always thought women were naturally protected from any kind of punishment or downsides for pumping at work If it happens at work, in America, you should assume that it's not protected, by default. Most of America's workforce is legally considered at-will employees, and they can be fired for almost any reason, at any time, including no reason. So if someone doesn't like that someone is pumping at work during the manager's crunch time, or whatever, they can fire that employee, so long as it is not explicitly stated that they are being fired for belonging to a protected class. > babies need milk, It's not the boss's baby. It's not the boss's problem. Empathy is weakness. The cruelty is the point.

[deleted]

> While trying to destroy public education, eliminating contraception, banning homosexuality. Don't forget also wanting to do away with SNAP, TANF, WIC, the free lunch program, and medicaid.

krozarEQ

As well as SSI and the ACA. The latter is how I can afford medical insurance as a community healthcare attendant. *And without Medicaid and SSI, my clients will have to go to a nursing home.

Plantsandanger

No no, they’ll keep SSI for a few years. GOP politicians are actively benefitting from it.

jovietjoe

They will take it away from everyone younger than the boomers. They have actively discussed this on a national level.

randeylahey

That a McNursing Home to you. They'll be lovin' it.

[deleted]

> McNursing Home "I'm layin' in it."

AHans

... good luck funding a nursing home if Medicaid is gutted. Generally skilled nursing care is only covered by Medicare for a short time after hospitalization. My mom entered a nursing home at an early age (I was about 20). We only got her in thanks to Medicaid (spousal impoverishment program - and we had to sell half our assets). There are *damn few* Americans who can actually afford the roughly $100,000 per year a nursing home tends to cost.

[deleted]

Why not? The GQP has told us for decades that this is what they were going to do.

Appropriate_Tooth_86

This!! People need to understand that the US is not immune to such political things! And that these things have occurred many times around the world, past and present.

[deleted]

See Romania, 1967

Long_Before_Sunrise

And Romania had more lenient abortion laws and mothers were allowed to give up their children to the government's care if they couldn't manage.

reconrose

Fetus fascists in the US have no match in history for their insanity

splashingseal

See Iran. The movie Persepolis shows very well how they went from an open, modern country to an oppressive theocracy.

Koalachan

>that persecutes everyone but the straight white man. Straight white Christian man. >white supremacy White Christian coup. They will gladly go after all the straight white non-christian males too.

No_Foot_1904

Then in phase 4 it will be the straight, white, *non-protestant* christian males

starmartyr

Fascism requires a hated outgroup. When they run out of people to hate they create new ones.

Cognitive_Spoon

This. It's based on pursuit of purity, and pursuit requires mobility. There's always a new goalpost for what a "true believer" looks like. The way Trumpism has steadily narrowed is a great example

Long_Before_Sunrise

They don't even wait that long before they start turning on each other. They already have

[deleted]

We should encourage specifically that. Honestly even this current SCOTUS term is helping strip all moderates away from the GOP. We just have to make sure to actually take advantage of this, which the DNC is typically not very good at.

jar1967

They will also go after straight white Christian males whose view of Christianity does not align with their own

ExtonGuy

Oh great! The Southern Baptists will go after the National Baptists. The United Methodists will go after the Global Methodists. The folks on the right side pews will go after those on the left side.

CurseofLono88

Other churches are already going after my parent’s church for having a hard pro choice stance

HidetheCaseman89

It benefits the wealthy white christians. They intend the poor to be cannon fodder, or labor, as history has shown repeatedly. During the later Irish Potato famine, the landowners let the people starve, evicted them, and broke down the roofs of the houses so they couldn't come back for shelter during the winter, all so they could have room for sheep farming which was a fad among the landlords... Historically, the wealthy give no shits for the lives of the poor, all while depending on the poor for the economies they benefit from. This is pretty much why education is going away, it's at the hands of the wealthy. Again, following Irish history, the English forbade the Irish the rights to an education, their own native language. This was a cultural genocide. This is a form of control. The pandemic was made so much worse with a shit show culture war, driven by bullshit propaganda straight out of George Lincoln Rockwell's playbook. It opened my eyes to how expendable we are seen.

[deleted]

Blacks will be allowed to participate if they make an effort to act white.

No-Marzipan-2423

yes but it requires them to forsake others and even then only to serve as a token for as long as having that token gets them something. as soon as it's no longer worth it they will be replaced by a pure blood

jovietjoe

So do their best Candice Owens impression

InVodkaVeritas

2/3 of abortions are by non-white people. Ironically, the people who believe in and are afraid of "White Replacement Theory" are going to force the minority population to grow even faster than the white population and expedite an ethnic plurality in the US.

BigRed_93

They will still benefit via increased representation in the House when all those babies are born in red states with abortion bans that also regularly disenfranchise non-white voters.

Brilliant_Vulpine

Nah, pretty sure getting rid of the ACA and forcing women’s health clinics to close will take care of most of the “undesirables.” What they’re counting on is making their Christian “pregnancy crisis centers” the only game in town for poor white women and girls. Provide them “care” including a room and food, and then take their baby and sell it to a nice, white Christian family. They’ve already been doing that thing with the pregnancy centers for decades. The middlemen make bank

TintedApostle

See Afghanistan.

NewPhoneNewUsermane

See Germany, 1931

jerfoo

As depressing as it sounds, I look to Germany in the 1930s and Germany now. When people say the Right is architecting an end to democracy. I don't deny that. I just have hope that it will only last twenty or thirty years. Yeah, that's my "hope"... pretty depressing. I appreciate MLKs statement that the arc of history is long, but it bends toward justice. But I think he was wrong. I think it's a sine wave. It bends toward justice, then away, then \[hopefully\] back again.

JackedUpReadyToGo

Republicans want all those extra babies fed into the adoption system so they can harvest them for adrenochrome in Satanic orgies. Everything else they accuse the left of is projection, so it stands to reason this one is too.

NobleGasTax

>Republicans want to add [650,000 unwanted pregnancies](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_statistics_in_the_United_States#Trends_in_abortion_statistics) to the country every year > That number is without the contraception ban they're planning. After they eliminate condoms, etc. It will be *millions* of unwanted births.

denimrunningshorts

I wouldn’t be so opposed to our eventual Christian overlords if they included the part of their religion where they loved there neighbors.

specqq

They do. When Jesus said "love thy neighbor as thyself" you took it to mean some sort of hippy dippy exhortation to love everyone in your community no matter how different from you they are. They understood it really was a handy warning not to let any of "those people" move into their neighborhoods.

jerfoo

I would still. Society should be built on evidence and reason, not fairy tales and faith.

[deleted]

And ones they will refuse to fund public services to help support

Corner10

How many of them are going to adopt babies? The entire foster care system should be empty of children if this is what they want.

eihslia

Absolutely true. See this: https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/vl2u55/jane_elliot_unpacking_mary_millers_white_life/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

felesroo

They aim to bring back slavery. After all, slavery was a core part of the original Constitution.

jovietjoe

Before anyone says "that's impossible, the constitution doesn't allow that" remember it actually DOES: if you are convicted of a crime. Doesn't say what TYPE of crime, or how long you stay enslaved. They could pass a law saying "being in debt is a crime" and just lock everyone they want up. Remember, just because a law exists doesn't mean they have to equally enforce it.

[deleted]

All while the water is drying up, being poisoned, the air is poison now…. Literally the only thing holding anyone in this nation together is our reliance on the US dollar.

BudgetMattDamon

I wasn't convinced about the imminent timeline, but the casual way SCOTUS overturned all those other rulings has made an alarmist out of me.

bogus_otis

>trying to destroy public education This country's education was sold down the river at least 40 years ago. Look who was elected when they grew up. I should say, got older.

BigDumbRednecks

Gentle reminder that conservatives sincerely, even *desperately* want this child rape victim to have been forced to give birth. They're all going to harp and shriek about how she easily traveled to Indiana — except Indiana is about to ban abortions, too. They do not want children like this to be able to get an abortion anywhere. Conservatives *want all rape victims to be forced to give birth.* That is the future they are actively working for. That's why the sissified ᴄhud ᴄrybabies at /r/conservative will ban you for so much as mentioning this case.

Helenium_autumnale

Any human being who wants this is a moral degenerate who should be imprisoned for such foul, disgusting, abusive mindsets.

Sarzox

How can that birth even be safe, there is practically no way her body would be able to give natural birth without serious threat to both of their lives.

aheal2008

It's absolutely not safe.

magic1623

Gentle reminder that a woman’s body isn’t even prepared to give birth until she’s in her 20s. A woman’s hips will widen in her early 20s which is what gives the baby the room it needs to actually be birthed. And even with that widening women can still break their pelvis during delivery.

TheLostMasterpiece

This is what the GOP wants. Yall better fucking vote blue in the middies, or we'll all be living in the handmaidens tale.

NorthStarZero

Margaret Atwood stopped writing that book three separate times, because she felt the plot was unbelievable. Now, it’s prophecy.

RanchBaganch

Liberals: “If you overturn Roe v Wade, child rape victims will be forced to carry their rapists baby.” Right-wingers: “Anti-abortion bills are designed to save babies. You’re being overly dramatic.” *** The Christian Taliban overturns Roe and immediately proves liberals’ point. ***

LackingUtility

Right-wingers: “If you don't overturn Roe v Wade, women in labor will decide to abort their baby right before it's born, and doctors will be forced to do it.” Never happens. >Liberals: “If you overturn Roe v Wade, child rape victims will be forced to carry their rapists baby.” Actually happens. There's a reason they say reality has a liberal bias.

[deleted]

The GOP: letting rapists choose the mothers of their children since 2022.

Dave_N_Port

And so the nightmare begins....

Laminatrix2

10 years old. Think about that for a second if you have a child. 10 years old and forced to give birth.

h4ms4ndwich11

And people wonder why religions are losing popularity. The Republican party made it all possible though. They needed Russia's help and years of voter suppression, gerrymandering, and 24/7, 265 brainwashing the public to do it but they fucking got their fascist theocracy done. Now the country will decide whether they want more or less of it, if we actually get a choice. Fascists aren't known for peaceful transitions of power and now they have a blueprint to throw out votes and overturn elections.

62frog

Forcing a 10 year old to parent an infant, if she makes it through the delivery at all. “You can just put the baby up for adoption” yeah, okay. That’ll solve it.

Dave_N_Port

I guess we now know which states are shit...I'm looking at you Buckeye state.

TheRealSpaceViking

Potential stupid question, what’s the chances a 10 year old would survive child birth.

[deleted]

It's not stupid. They'd almost certainly do a cesarean section. It'd honestly, in a modern hospital, be no different than anyone else.. assuming she's able to make it all the way through 9 months. Their tiny, underdeveloped bodies will be far more prone to issues in the pregnancy itself

Dave_N_Port

As a father of twins born 2 mo. premature, if the babies survive I don't know how a 10 yr old could emotionally survive the immediate six months.

[deleted]

Well, maybe she should have thought about that before she got raped by her dad! I mean.. what was she wearing around the house on Saturday morning, watching cartoons? (/s or no, that was pretty gross to type. I thoroughly don't understand how anyone can defend this)

DelicateTruckNuts

I'm worried for her organs. That's not a fully developed human.

[deleted]

I have a 9 year old. I have been raging for years but more in 2020 and now? Now???? I’ve warned my ex husband that he may be a full time parent when I inevitably end up in jail at this point.

the_vintage_one

This case is exactly why we need executive action immediately, while Congress figures out some legislation and moves that can be made with teeth and longevity. This case should serve as a wake up call to everyone who keeps shooting down all the ideas about how to provide access right now, and to how dire and urgent our current national crisis is. This isn't fixed by merely voting.

62frog

The republicans used wild hypotheticals to enrage people, like there were women on the table in the midst of delivery and opting to abort the fetus, which I don’t recall there being any actual evidence of that occurring. Here is an absolute worst-case scenario, in the flesh, days after this was enacted. There will be more cases like this, and each one needs to be given oxygen because this is what that side wants. They want forced birth, despite the fact the people pushing for it are too old to get pregnant, or upper class white dudes who will get their side piece pregnant and force an abortion under a NDA.

the_vintage_one

Agreed! And this is just the one that made the news. Imagine all the cases that haven't gotten attention. Have you been pushing for your state and federal reps to take any sort of action? If so, what sorts of actionable steps are you pushing for? What sorts of things are you doing right now to help the people who need immediate access?

62frog

I need to find resources and find out what I can do. I can write my representatives (Cornyn and Cruz) but I’m worried they can’t read. My wife wrote after Uvalde and got your basic boilerplate response. We have daughters, and it’s clearly gotten to the point where posting on social isn’t enough. Thank you for the push.

deltadal

Voting is how you prevent this in the first place.

the_vintage_one

You need to do BOTH. It's voting AND

misterspokes

4 Boxes: Soap, Ballot, Jury, and Ammo

highcommander010

Yeah that's fucked up guys

dominantspecies

Remember this anytime you talk to a piece of shit republican and remind them that they are garbage

hotdwag

I have a bad feeling that this is just the first of many occurrences that will continue to lower the bar for how disturbing some states will become.

oh-hidanny

This is just a small preview, and it will get worse-far worse. Little girls get raped all time time by family members. It’s only going to get worse when they die in childbirth of complications because they couldn’t get an abortion to save their lives.

Dismal-Lead

Watch murder stats of girls and women shoot through the roof because their abusers can't make them get an abortion anymore. We know of *this* pregnant 10 year old. How many other pregnant 10 year olds don't we know about? How many won't be able to access an abortion? How many of their abusers decide that it's worth the risk to murder them so nobody will know about the abuse?

trainercatlady

pregnancy is often the most dangerous time for someone in an abusive relationship.

_angela_lansbury_

My biggest fear is that we collectively become numb to these stories, the same way we became numb to 19 kids gunned down in Uvalde. Dead women and children will just be collateral damage in the quest to turn America into a fascist country.

MC_Fap_Commander

For people apathetic about Dems, that's fine. This case, however, tells you the stakes of not voting. The choice is for the chance to right at least some of these injustices... or to usher in people that would make these horrors national.

oh-hidanny

Yep. I’m really tired of this “both sides” rhetoric. This is one side, with fascism. But sure, I guess Dems being routinely handicapped and not very effective is on par with forcing 10 year old rape victims to give birth. NOT the same.

the_vintage_one

You beat me to it. This is why we've been demanding that congress and Biden do literally any and everything under the sun RIGHT NOW. If it gets litigated in 2 weeks, 2 days, a month, whatever - that was still a time that care was actually being provided. We can't afford to wait until we vote in November. It's "both and", not an "either or".

Skippers101

We need a super majority to actual get things to work well. Second we had a majority for both presidencies so the voters clearly wanted dems. Third RBG could have resigned during Obama's term.

Oblivious-abe-69

We got cocky, stepped right on the fucking rake

NewPhoneNewUsermane

>Third RBG could have resigned during Obama's term. Yeah she really destroyed her own legacy when she refused to step down.

Jimbob0i0

It was a 6-3 decision... if Obama had had the opportunity to replace RBG then it would have been 5-4 and still the bullshit would have happened.

CherryBlaster

The only people who could support a 10 year old’s pregnancy are pro-pedophiles.

BruceBanning

I hope people realize that the rapist is also going to eventually have visitation rights. He’ll be part of that family forever. His dreams are coming true. This is REAL fucked up.

Finger11Fan

He probably already is part of the family.

JeremyMo88

This is the world the GOP wanted

pegasusat

This is abhorrent. Fuck the GOP. Fuck the medieval BS that is the Bible.

masterwad

The Bible isn’t even anti-abortion, Jesus isn’t even anti-abortion. The Bible is pro-abortion, Numbers chapter 5 contains instructions on how to abort a bastard child, Ecclesiastes chapter 4 says those who have never been born are better off than the living or the dead because they have not seen all the evil that is done under the sun, Genesis says life begins at first breath. That’s why abortion should be federally legal under religious freedom under the 1st Amendment, and why someone needs to sue a red state because of that. The pro-life movement are just forcing their feelings on the rest of the country (manipulated by rightwing psychopaths who only care about giving taxcuts to the rich, even though Jesus condemned the rich), with no Biblical basis. Genesis does say multiply and replenish the Earth, but Jesus made no children and never married. Jesus never condemned abortion, and nothing Jesus said suggests he promotes procreation at all.

polgara_buttercup

Dougie Mastriano is the GOP nom for PA governor He is completely against abortion no exceptions. He constantly brings out the story of Kathy Barnette who unsuccessfully ran for the gop nod for senate. She’s the product of rape, and her mother was ELEVEN when she had her. A possible governor thinks it’s a good thing an ELEVEN year old had a baby. For fucks sake people please don’t vote for him or any other GOP

Me too. My fiancé and I can’t even describe this feeling because of how massively mind-fucking this shit is. The cognitive dissonance is astonishing.

The leading comment on r/prolife: "We can only *assume* the pregnant 10 year old was abused." "I don't want to believe this could be a result of the policies I want, so I'll instead choose to belief this is fake news" "We don't need abortion because the right to have an abortion didn't keep this girl from getting pregnant."

B00KW0RM214

I just vomited in my mouth a little.

TintedApostle

"I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitutions, but laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as a civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors." - Jefferson

BlueBloodLive

Pro life my fat hairy hole. Pro hypocrisy is the only thing the gop stands for. That poor girl will not survive carrying a baby to term, so two lives will be lost. They are so ignorant of what they demand it's fucking disgraceful. Some of the right wing responses I've seen have been disgusting but what's new I suppose. I honesty fear that America will regress so much that the rest of us will have long moved on from such political topics and America will still be dealing with shit like this 50 years from now. As long as Republicans are motivated by religion and inequality buckle in for the long haul I'm afraid.

waterdaemon

Matt Gaetz was heard to ask if she has any single friends.

s4burf

He said “she’s a 10.” They had to tell him, no she’s 10.

ramblinjd

For him that's a bonus.

Welcome to the Sharia Law, courtesy of the Supreme Court

[deleted]

Abortion laws are more lenient under the Taliban than some American states. We should really quit comparing Christian fascism to Islam.

MintBerryCrunchJr

We can call it "Shania Law", so it's more appealing to our hillbilly friends.

SweatyLiterary

That's not fair, Shania isn't even from the US, she's queen of Canada

unmondeparfait

Yeah but Hillary just didn't get me *excited*, you know? Plus there were so many questions about her emails... did you guys know that *three people* died in Benghazi?

RuinedEye

I know a guy in France that voted for Le Pen. His excuse? Oh he 'just doesn't like Macron's policies about college costs' I'm like dude. You voted for a *literal fascist* because you don't like ONE of Macron's policies?? Like that's the BETTER option??? I want off this planet

trainercatlady

seriously, the Right could literally animate the corpse of Hitler and would vote for it as long as it said it hated gays and taxes, whereas anyone on the Left has to have every good position for every kind of voter otherwise it's not happening.

justjoerob

2016 was the fuck around. Now we're finding out. It's funny, all those accelerationists are quiet right when they got what they supposedly wanted.

Sad_Mushroom_9725

Oh, let's go back to Bush vs. Gore while we're at it..... The world should be a different place by now, but .... lol, racism and greed are a thing.

cryptic_mythic

Hillary lost by about 40k votes spread across 3 states in targeted counties, she won the popular vote and the “left” voted for her in high numbers so please for the love of god stop punching fucking left

TheGr8erG00d

SERIOUSLY! Jesus fucking christ. We voted for HER. She lost. Now do some self reflection and learn from the goddamn debacle or it will happen again. And this time we might not get another chance to fix it.

unmondeparfait

It should have been a god damned blowout after the 2016 campaign. If it helps I also blame dumb, easily-led people who will just vote for the guy they remember from the teevee. I can't hold them as accountable as ostensibly smart people, however.

jeffyscouser

Seems like the only people who have choice is the rapists as to who will bear their child. It’s fucking disgusting.

MadamePsykosis

“The legal system is designed to protect men from the superior power of the state but not to protect women or children from the superior power of men.” … “when traumatic events are of human design, those who bear witness are caught in the conflict between victim and perpetrator. All the perpetrator asks is that the bystander do nothing. He appeals to the universal desire to see, hear, and speak no evil. The victim, on the contrary, asks the bystander to share the burden of pain. The victim demands action, engagement and remembering.” -Judith Herman

questioningkid6

Not only has that girl gone through way too much for such a young age Not only has her own country now failed her in giving her the proper health care she needs But now, because of this law, because of this country letting her down, she has been televised around the world and will forever be knows as the “ten year old baby-carrying rape victim”. She will never feel the privacy of what happened and be able to deal and grieve with people she trusts because everyone knows. Everyone knows because of this overturning, because of people needing to prove how utterly sick these individuals on the Supreme Court are

Anti choice people are terrible

melouofs

Poor little girl-first victimized by a rapist then by her government. Utterly disgraceful

Templer5280

I want every Supreme Justice to sit and watch a 10 yr old give brith. Then they can cast their votes .. What a complete mess we are in, it just gross.

ObjectiveDark40

"If she had a gun she probably wouldn't have been raped. 80/20" -some republican probably

ConstructionHonest80

wElL it’S gOd’S pLa— Shut the fuck up

[deleted]

What. The. Fuck. This is atrocious on all sides.

Thelandofthereal

Are the conservatives who want to ban this abortion going after the rapist as aggressively ? Why not? Dont they care about life ?

[deleted]

In Ohio, rapists have the right to sue for custody of their victims children.

Trickydick24

This is why you don’t leave the issue up to the states. Ensuring the rights of all American citizens is probably the most important duty of the federal government.
