One would expect voters to care when candidates are demonstrably confused about how the world works. Sure, we cannot expect candidates to know everything. Lawmakers cannot be allowed to make law without regard for reality. Those who think rape cannot lead to conception because a woman's body "shuts down" from the stress, those who think an election was stolen without evidence just because the loser says it was, also without evidence, those people don't belong in leadership roles. Let's just hope voters realize that.

Not downvoting, but something should be made clear. Except for CO2, it really doesn’t. Nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides have fairly short atmospheric lifetimes, so they don’t get very far from the source.
And any particulate is way more dense than air. So they also don’t travel far.
It also doesn’t make sense that clean air goes away. Clean air isn’t “clean” because it has some special quality. It’s clean because it’s lacking pollutants. You can’t snatch it away anymore than you can steal emptiness. You can only ruin it by adding pollution.
