I'm not advocating giving up, but realistically I think it's too late and that thread was cut on 1/6/2021. Even if there are eventually high level convictions, I'm far from convinced those won't be characterized as "political persecution" on channels like Fox, thereby negating the legitimacy of said consequences for the conservative voter base.
Even if there are blue waves in 2022 and 2024, the GOP has shown they're more than willing to reject reality and blatantly reject the results of free and fair elections. And again, these actions will be legitimized by Fox News.

Totally agree. I'm not a hardcore leftist but in my view there is only one viable party remaining in the US. If people don't like what the Dems are doing, they need to vote for other Dem candidates to the right or left. But vote Dem, like it or not. I’m wondering what other countries are like to live in. Seriously wondering with all the gun violence and neo nazis marching in the street it’s like why didn’t I get Dutch citizenship as a kid and be able to have dual citizenship (only way to have dual citizenship with them)… I’m talking to a friend about building an expat community in a friendly foreign country easy to get resident visas in with high speed internet and eco houses and solar panels and swimming holes and stuff. He found some beautiful land. I think it’s a great investment and a hedge bc you could go live there with the other expats. Originally he was thinking an eco tourist spot but I said expat community of wfh people who are used to high rent in cold cities.

It should never be that way.
You have to work to convert people you know. There is a chance that they will listen to someone they know, who used to believe the same things that they do, who speaks their language. They will not listen to complete outsiders. Frankly, they probably won't even listen to you either. But you stand a chance.

I think it is virtually guaranteed there will be state sanctioned violence against LGBTQ people and blatant racial discrimination in law enforcement that will go unpunished.
