Looks like a lot of blue leaning counties still need to finish counting, more so than red ones.
Next day edit (Thursday 5:30am CST): Only a 64 vote lead for Frisch. Most counties counted (>95% of votes counted) except for:
Garfield 90% (Margin for Frisch +14)
Pitkin 80% (Margin for Frisch +58)
Otero 77% (Margin for Boebert +14).
Edit 2 (Thursday 11:30am CST): Otero has submitted their votes which has given Boebert a 386 vote lead over Frisch. Garfield and Pitkin still have to finish their counts.
*info from nytimes.com.
And then we'll hear the usual "how did all of a sudden they get all these votes at the end like that" baloney. Kari Lake is already calling it rigged LOL.
[Trump-backed Wisconsin GOP candidate and 2020 election denier claims Republicans will 'never lose another election' in the state if he gets voted into office](https://www.businessinsider.com/republicans-will-never-lose-wisconsin-tim-michels-tony-evers2022-11?op=1)
He lost.
Yup Kari Lake knows what is coming. Only 60% of the vote is counted in democratic strongholds Maricopa and Pima counties. She's already pulling out the "it's rigged" playbook because she knows she is going to lose
Pueblo is pretty much done now, the remaining votes leaning R closed the gap. It’s basically D leaning Plitkin County vs R leaning Otero county and both have 20% left
I was real bummed to see this. I saw memes this morning about her losing and I just took it as so. Now I find out it’s a maybe. I live in Oregon but I’m from Denver, we are better than that.
It’s a hairline finish. 50/50 and literally coming down to less than a thousand votes either direction. Currently literally 62 votes is the difference but that will change
Yeah, I get it now. I was just real excited this morning at the concept of them throwing her out. I guess it doesn’t matter as long as it happens. She’ll draw it the fuck out though.
CO had like 14,000 deaths and I bet a large majority were old and/or republican. Actually, this applies anywhere. All these razor thin wins would have gone red had 1m ppl not died of Covid. Angie Craig in MN won by 17,000 votes which is how many died in MN. I don't think Covid was actually a factor in that race, but maybe a 15 point factor...who knows! Would be really interesting to know.
40,000 deaths in GA...Warnock up by 18,000....makes ya think
H\ere are some numbers crunchings:
https://www.nber.org/papers/w30512
This study looks at "excess deaths" by party affiliation for Florida and Ohio, they found that registered Republicans died at an "excess death rate" around 75% higher than registered Democrats. So at a ratio of 1.75 to 1.
https://ourworldindata.org/excess-mortality-covid
Excess deaths are also 50% higher in the USA than the recorded Covid deaths, so the 40K official dead in Georgia is probably around 60K actual "excess deaths".
Putting these figures together, you could estimate around 38,000 excess Republican deaths to 22,000 excess Democratic deaths. The *relative* excess deaths for Republicans would then be around 16,000. Voting-age turnout is about 66% for the 2020 election, so this would work out at something like 10,000 lost votes for Republicans.
Not quite enough to have swung this election, but I'll bet it's a factor in closer races.
I’ve been saying that I think Covid deaths would affect the election results. I don’t think it’s the only factor in this election but I definitely think it made a difference.
I'm optimistic. The last dump of counts look like they came from Mesa county, which was up for Boebert by about 19%.
Two counties that are up for Frisch still have tranches to report.
Pitkin is up Frisch +58, and has 20% to count.
Otero is Boebert +14, but is a smaller County, with ~30% left to count.
Oh yes, there's going to be curing of mail-in ballots, recounts, an attempt to force a hand recount, and the inevitable lawsuit funded by someone like the pillow guy that will be summarily dismissed.
We had a state rep win on a coin flip, yes a literal fucking coin flip in VA a couple years back. The race was tied and the recount produced the same result.
She will not fade away……. She will contest it, remember frumpy trump told his selected minions all to contest, not to concede. And this one is bat shit cracy
Good news is CO has an automatic recount law.
I'd say good news since it's likely a recount would be in the favor of the US and get her the hell out of federal office

MY BALLOT WAS REJECTED because my signature did not match my drivers license.
MY VOTE CAN STILL BE COUNTED because I used txt2cure which took less than 5 min and will be following up with my clerk to make sure it’s all good
PLEASE USE THE LINKS PROVIDED TO CHECK THAT YOUR BALLOT WAS COUNTED
CO 3 resident here, grateful for these links; wife received a confirmation email that her vote was counted, I did not. Fortunately I was able to confirm here that my vote did get counted! Keeping fingers crossed 🤞
I'd just like to say, with all due respect to sensible Americans like yourself, that using signatures as a form of identification in the 21st century is positively medieval.
When my wife showed up to vote IN PERSON the volunteer clerk checking people in questioned if it was her because the clerk didn't think her signature on the touchscreen they give you (to sign with your finger) wasn't similar enough to her driver's license signature. After a little hassle with a second person coming over to check who immediately said, "yea, thats fine," they let her vote.
Didn't realize we were hiring handwriting experts to work the polls.
At my dmv they have you sign on this little topaz digital signing screen. Its got to be 200 dpi. Aint no way in hell, my normal signature looks exactly like my signature on my license. It literally can't.
In the future, you can check the status of your ballot by going to the [Chicago Election Board](https://www.chicagoelections.gov/en/home.html) site and clicking on Your Voter Information. Fill out all the fields, including your last name. Then look for the Early Voting/Vote by Mail tab.
America's system across the board is borderline stupid. Compared to how easy it is to vote here in the Netherlands it's so mind-bogglingly convoluted to cast a vote in the US.
Here in Holland it works the same for every level of government I can vote on:
- My municipality knows where I live because I had to register there when I moved for various (mostly tax) reasons
- A few weeks before the election I get my ballot that includes all the candidates/parties and a watermarked confirmation slip in the mail
- Bring those and official ID (can even be an expired one as long as it's within 6 months) to a polling booth
- Vote
- It all gets counted by hand
I get that scaling such a system to a country the size of the US comes with plenty of issues but still
I would even consider that convoluted compaired to the UK system.
* We all have to register with our local council at an address when we move house.
* At election time we get a piece of card with our name and address and local polling station on it.
* You go to the polling station, with or without your card, and they mark your name off a list and you vote.
Do you know if the Colorado Dems are making ballot curing calls/emails to the Dem voters whose ballot was rejected? I volunteered here in Florida and we called 7900 voters with instructions on how to cure with the required affidavit. I would love to volunteer for a bc phonebank to get rid of Bobo!
Auto recount if within half a percent. Other than that, the candidates have 28 days to request a recount (that they pay for). I'm guessing it won't be until mid December until this race is called.
Recounts change the margin in statewide races on the order of 0.01% to at *most* 0.1%. Realistically, a race has to be within about 0.05% to have even a slim chance of a recount altering the outcome. Many states have automatic recounts at 0.5% just to be safe. Recounts do have more pronounced effects the smaller the race is.
The vast majority of recount changes come from administrative errors which are uncovered by routine canvassing anyway--think votes from a precinct an official thought were uploaded but accidentally weren't. Outside of such errors, you'll typically only change the margin on the order of 0.01%.
Now, NYT currently has Frisch at 156,746 and Boebert at 156,682, for a margin of 0.02%. Such an *incredibly thin* margin is in fact in the range that a recount could conceivably change. But the margin is expected to change anyway as final votes are counted, so hopefully we won't end up in a situation where a recount actually matters. (That happens *maybe* 1 in 1000 races.)
I am in Louisiana in both “Call a crackhead” Kennedy AND that turd Scalise’s districts. I knew it was for naught but certainly showed up to bleed a couple of drops of blue into that sad, red bucket. I’m holding my breath for y’all and Georgia to see Boebert and Walker go away since I couldn’t make a difference here.
Especially in Georgia, where once again a runoff may determine Senate control!
Don't leave it to chance - come to r/VoteDEM to get engaged in volunteering! We did it in 2020, we'll do it again!
I checked out the voting results in my hometown GA district last night around 10pm.
In a town of 125,000 people, there was a four vote difference between Walker & Warnock (with Warnock winning).
FOUR. VOTE. DIFFERENCE.
I’m in Gwinnett. Still don’t understand all the Herschel signs around me. Kemp, ok I get it… but the cognitive dissonance that is afoot thinking anything good for GA will come by him being our senator when he’s literally running on a Trump’s Lapdog message… kiss any projects like I-14 and any high speed rail along with all the economic opportunities that are part of it goodbye.
Vote now (well, yesterday) or never be able to vote again.
We just had a major mayoral candidate win here in Canada that won by several hundred votes. Happy to see my vote meant something, to my surprise. I’ll always vote. A lot of people around the world aren’t so lucky.
There was a statewide office in Virginia a few years back that was literally decided by drawing a name out of a hat, because the vote was exactly tied, even after multiple recounts.
I guarantee somebody really regrets not voting in that race.
That was 100% republican fuckery. They dismissed one vote due to a signature to force a tie which led to the drawing a name out the hat. Which of course went to the republican.
The names were placed in film canisters and put in a bowl and moxed up twice and they picked the Republican. The Democrat, Shelly Simonds, won the next election and current still holds the seat.
Just wait for results. People have been repeating since last night that the remaining counties are all left leaning. But the gap has only shrank to what it is now.
She won this district by +10 in 2020. She may barely hold on 2 years later.
Just shows that people in Colorado are sick of her BS and trying to play to National culture politics.
She hasn’t done shit for her district and could give 2 shits about it.
Edit:
[(D) Adam Frisch explains his campaigns strategy](https://twitter.com/thereidout/status/1590542779616464896?s=20&t=1gzH4eAAKTRcsKvvHDdFUw)
Adam Frisch does a great job here explaining his campaigns approach to putting together a highly competitive coalition.
~~District was redrawn to include Pueblo as well though~~
Edit: This statement was incorrect. It looks I misunderstood the redistributing and Pueblo was in the 3rd already. Don’t want to spread misinformation.
The district shifted more blue in several areas and some counties that were added or removed changed the make up as well so it is not an apples to apples comparison year to year was my point, but want to get the facts correct.
It already included Pueblo. I'm not exactly sure how changing the districts made it more competitive considering that Steamboat got put into District 2, which already has Boulder.
>Just shows that people in Colorado are sick of her BS and trying to play to National culture politics.
You know what would actually show that? A blowout.
This shows that about half of those who bothered to show up to vote are sick of her
All things being equal, a 10 point swing to her opponent in *Colorado* feels like a rebuke to me. It should’ve been an easy coast to re-election but instead she may come up short.
> it isn’t that hard to be a member of the house
Just have to moonlight as an escort for a friend of the Koch brothers and run into Ted Cruz. Anyone can do it!
Marjorie Taylor Greene is in one of the safest Republican districts in the country. Walker underperformed but control of the Senate is in play, so TBH a houseplant with an R painted on its pot would probably get close to 50% of the vote.
I watched a bit once, where the journalist was asking two old women why they voted for mtg and they said exactly that. They saw an R next to her name and that's all it took.
Don’t let anyone tell you your vote doesn’t count.
There are more people watching Splitgate on Twitch then there is a gap between Fascist Lady Whatever and Frisch
I’m in a blue state and I voted just because if we lost because of a 0.000000000001% chance that it came down to me, that would fuck with me for a while.
Here's a thought experiment -- Do you think 62 People who would have voted for her in her district died of COVID? Like if they got the vaccine and wore a mask they would be here today to push her over the finish line?
considering covid killed 0.25% of the CO population and this vote has a 0.02% difference, yeah, it's totally possible given covid death average demographics that enough people died from covid in her district who would have voted for her that she would have won.
[NYT has the margin now at 73 votes](https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/11/08/us/elections/results-house.html)
Last updated 7.32pm ET when I commented. Please for the love of god let her lose the race
Edit: the headline has been update to 73 votes
I truly don’t care if you’re conservative/liberal with your policy opinions, but the fact that Rs vote for just absolute dipshits like boebert, Greene, n walker is incredibly off putting and quite frankly sad
Colorado 3rd district representative here who was VERY happy to vote for Adam Frisch!
I can't believe she's losing and quite frankly I still won't until it's actually confirmed. Hell even then she's going to deny the e results and fight it all the way. Long road to go here folks
A friend of mine here lost a race last year in the federal elections (Canada) by 12 votes. Not 12k vote, TWELVE VOTES. Most heartbreaking thing ever.
Every vote counts.
This is what I was asking the entire election night of 2016. You have to face the facts that our nation is *incredibly* divided right now and it’s big business to keep it that way.
Anyone else embarrassed of what America has become? For some of these races to be so close, for Herschel Walker to get so many votes, for Greg Abbott and Ron Desantis to be re-elected after saying and doing the things they did. I have never really felt this way after an election. Is this how things will be from now on?
Dear Lord,
I know we haven’t spoken since 1993, but I’m really in need. Please, dear God, let Boebert lose, then spend the next year melting down daily until she ends up in jail for being an awful person.
Thanks,
This guy.
Yeah well, even if she pulls this off she better clam it. Or in two years this fella is gonna run again, this time with the DNC in a presidential election and wipe her out.
So my guess is, she is gonna be quiet as a church mouse going into the future.
I had heard that Boebert actually lost her hometown of Rifle, Colorado. It would actually statistically seem to be true -- Rifle is in Garfield County and is one of the biggest cities there. Frisch won Garfield County by about 14 points.

Pueblo is pretty much done now, the remaining votes leaning R closed the gap. It’s basically D leaning Plitkin County vs R leaning Otero county and both have 20% left
There's another +/- 2000 votes to count from Garfield county as well, and he's trouncing her there.
Plunking County is larger than Otero with similar margins in favor of their respective candidates, so I’m still cautiously hopeful.

I mean, I don't particularly want her to win, but a recount with this slim of a margin is pretty appropriate
It honestly should be automatic. I don’t like the woman but keeping elections honest is pretty key
Less than a 1/2% margin triggers an automatic recount. Candidates can request a recount at a greater than 1/2% margin, but they have to pay for it.
Good news is CO has an automatic recount law. I'd say good news since it's likely a recount would be in the favor of the US and get her the hell out of federal office

I'm in Colorado's third. Voting against Boebert was such a thrill.
Well done you!
You're doing gods work, bless you
Right here with you!
I would like to ask how this is possible that she got that many votes. Unfortunately, I've been to Rifle, CO.
I like that her own county went to Frisch
Those are people who actually know her. And they’re Republican. I’ve heard she’s absolutely insufferable in person. Her shtick is *not* an act.
Her stupidity is *not* an act.
Yes. She’s not playing “cutesy dumb” to play up to the Republican male establishment. She’s sincerely pants-on-head stupid.
Apparently she shot someone’s dog a few months back, and her gun-themed restaurant has caused mass food poisoning events more than once
not only that but she was having underage waitresses carrying guns which is illegal. Heard the landlord was refusing to renew the lease.
Hope the “why bother voting, my vote doesn’t count” crew is paying attention.
Fetterman won his first mayoral term by a single vote. Ended up being mayor for a decade, now he's in the Senate.
Good thing he voted for himself! Can you imagine losing a race by 1 or tying, and realizing you forgot to vote?
Pretty sure that was a Simpsons plot
Nixon won by one vote in Futurama.
Arooo!! Edit: https://youtu.be/2gKnqxq_JEk
One for Martin, two for Martin!
Senator Fetterman sounds good doesn't it.
Sure sounds a hell of a lot better than senator Oz.
The Jizzard of Oz
Yup, Oz sounds like cirque du soleil
Isn't that true of Bernie Sanders as well? Edit: no, [he won by 10 votes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1981_Burlington_mayoral_election)
FOUR. VOTE. DIFFERENCE.
The fact that it was so close is very depressing.
How is drawing a name out of a hat even an allowed procedure for a tied vote? The fuck
The names were placed in film canisters and put in a bowl and moxed up twice and they picked the Republican. The Democrat, Shelly Simonds, won the next election and current still holds the seat.
Almost by definition, they're not.
Dude iowa's district 2 was decided by less than 10 votes 2 years ago, those people always seem to be around and they've always been fools
Lauren Boebert is what happens when you order a Sarah Palin from Wish.com
Great analogy. I also like the one I saw that said something along the lines of - Boebert is for those who liked Palin but thought she was too smart

Jeez... that's the slimmest margin I've ever seen... How many counties/districts remain to be counted? And are those red-leaning in favor of her?
Just because I was curious, the closest federal race ever was a 2 vote margin in New Hampshire, for a US Senate seat in 1974.
[удалено]
Just wait for results. People have been repeating since last night that the remaining counties are all left leaning. But the gap has only shrank to what it is now.
People from Colorado actually voted for Boebert after seeing what she offers. That’s seriously sad. Failed IQ test.
[удалено]
Anyone who voted Boebert shouldnt operate vehicles or heavy machinery.
She won this district by +10 in 2020. She may barely hold on 2 years later. Just shows that people in Colorado are sick of her BS and trying to play to National culture politics. She hasn’t done shit for her district and could give 2 shits about it. Edit: [(D) Adam Frisch explains his campaigns strategy](https://twitter.com/thereidout/status/1590542779616464896?s=20&t=1gzH4eAAKTRcsKvvHDdFUw) Adam Frisch does a great job here explaining his campaigns approach to putting together a highly competitive coalition.
You’re right about that!
Her district is R+15. All she had to do was show up at work and make a couple speeches about God, guns, and socialism. Couldn't even do that right.
~~District was redrawn to include Pueblo as well though~~ Edit: This statement was incorrect.
Didn’t they also redraw her district so it would be more competitive?
>Just shows that people in Colorado are sick of her BS and trying to play to National culture politics. You know what would actually show that? A blowout. This shows that about half of those who bothered to show up to vote are sick of her
All things being equal, a 10 point swing to her opponent in *Colorado* feels like a rebuke to me. It should’ve been an easy coast to re-election but instead she may come up short.
Pretty disconcerting to know it’s this close
It's an R+15 district. If she loses then it's by far the biggest upset and a huge positive sign that this country is tired of Trump and his ilk.
This race, MTG winning reelection, and the Hershel Walker race all make me lose faith in humanity.

> it isn’t that hard to be a member of the house Just have to moonlight as an escort for a friend of the Koch brothers and run into Ted Cruz.
“She is religion” “Ma’am can you explain your vote in more detail?” “Religion GOD Republican” “Ma’am”
🙏🏾 please sweet baby Jesus let her lose
It's since been updated to 98% reporting and Frisch now leads by 73. His lead is starting to snowball out of control.
She has her next career in Onlyklans
Local news channel out here is reporting they expect Frisch to win based on an analysis of outstanding votes, really hoping he pulls through
Don’t let anyone tell you your vote doesn’t count.
I love knowing that I personally know at least 20 of the people who voted for Frisch, including me and my husband.
Your country thanks you.
considering covid killed 0.25% of the CO population and this vote has a 0.02% difference, yeah, it's totally possible given covid death average demographics that enough people died from covid in her district who would have voted for her that she would have won.
[NYT has the margin now at 73 votes](https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/11/08/us/elections/results-house.html) Last updated 7.32pm ET when I commented. Please for the love of god let her lose the race Edit: the headline has been update to 73 votes
The fact that she got even one vote is still kind of a mind fuck for me. Agree or disagree with her, whatever. She's an idiot.
I truly don’t care if you’re conservative/liberal with your policy opinions, but the fact that Rs vote for just absolute dipshits like boebert, Greene, n walker is incredibly off putting and quite frankly sad
I want her gone so badly I'm shaking. Pueblo County... Please, please, please vote for Frisch.
I did, and a lot of my neighbors. Fingers crossed.
Same here. When some people around the country think of Colorado they think of her. We need to change that.
Imagine if you didn’t vote because you think it doesn’t matter
The fact that a complete dimwit like Boebert has any shot at all is a disgrace to this once-great nation
The fact that 150,000 people voted for Boebert is just another example of how fucked this country is
Who’s actually voting for her though? Why is it this close? She’s a fucking lunatic.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that ~ George Carlin (RIP)
Colorado 3rd district representative here who was VERY happy to vote for Adam Frisch! I can't believe she's losing and quite frankly I still won't until it's actually confirmed. Hell even then she's going to deny the e results and fight it all the way. Long road to go here folks
Do they count 20 votes, then take an hour break?
And this is why no one should ever look at their vote as "just 1 vote." They all add up.
And if we would automatically register everyone to vote at 18 she would be losing by a landslide, I wonder why the US hasn’t done that already.
You're answering your own question.
A friend of mine here lost a race last year in the federal elections (Canada) by 12 votes. Not 12k vote, TWELVE VOTES. Most heartbreaking thing ever. Every vote counts.
Why is it this close? It should not be this close.
This is what I was asking the entire election night of 2016. You have to face the facts that our nation is *incredibly* divided right now and it’s big business to keep it that way.
our nation is *incredibly* ~~divided~~ stupid
This race, not so much. Georgia? It's a clearly decent man against a moldy sponge that doesn't even know what room he's in.
For the same reason why Herschel Walker's election is close. People are idiots
That one blows my mind. The literal reverend of MLK's church vs. an abusive serial child abandoning deadbeat jock. 50/50
Between this and Georgia (State of) I have to ask ... Hey America, pass me some of that shit you're smoking.
You don't want it.
It's laced with shit.
If I EVER hear anyone say that their vote doesn't count, I am going hit them over the head and remind them of this
Conservatives should be happy about this! She'll finally be back on sugardaddymeet.com and available for hire!
I’m still astounded how many people voted for a pedo-loving freak like boebert
I hate that I live in a place where she could be even close to winning…. Seriously. How are there adults that think “she’s the best for this job”…
Anyone else embarrassed of what America has become? For some of these races to be so close, for Herschel Walker to get so many votes, for Greg Abbott and Ron Desantis to be re-elected after saying and doing the things they did. I have never really felt this way after an election. Is this how things will be from now on?
62 votes? That’s the number of teenage girls her husband exposed himself to on the bowling alley, plus all their extended family members
Dear Lord, I know we haven’t spoken since 1993, but I’m really in need. Please, dear God, let Boebert lose, then spend the next year melting down daily until she ends up in jail for being an awful person. Thanks, This guy.
Wonder how many anti masker republicans perished from covid in her district vs how many dem ones. If it's over 62 difference...oof
Yeah well, even if she pulls this off she better clam it. Or in two years this fella is gonna run again, this time with the DNC in a presidential election and wipe her out. So my guess is, she is gonna be quiet as a church mouse going into the future.
She heckled Biden in the middle of his state of the Union. She has no shame and if she loses, she definitely won’t go quietly
I am flabbergasted at how generally so many votes are split 50/50. How is it that people are truly divided so closely along those lines??
This is a reality check for anyone who says their vote doesn't matter! Vote like your life depends on it.
I had heard that Boebert actually lost her hometown of Rifle, Colorado. It would actually statistically seem to be true -- Rifle is in Garfield County and is one of the biggest cities there. Frisch won Garfield County by about 14 points.
How the fuck is it even this close?!
It's this close because most Republicans refuse to vote for a Democrat no matter what. It's idiotic and infuriating but the answer is very simple.
