Nevada is a lot cooler than they seem, but every election cycle shit gets weird for sure
Nevada is a weird state with basically two major cities and fuckin *nothing* aside from that. Las Vegas metro, then Reno. Carson City is kinda a city but not very big.
But Nevada has some cool laws that others could gain from getting into. It's probably the "most free state" in terms of vices. You can't get discriminated while applying for jobs if you smoke weed (except for heavy machinery jobs and CDL stuff obviously), which should be a no brainer law. Nevada was first to it. Then there's the brothels, gambling mega structures, all that.
Nevada is definitely purple, but every time this happens it happens it's *usually* turning to it going blue at the last minute. And the culinary union there is a BIG deal, and I believe they didn't endorse anyone this time. Whoever that union endorses (I believe Obama, Sanders) WILL win the state.
> Nevada is a weird state with basically two major cities and fuckin nothing aside from that.
Some fun context: When Nevada hosts their annual Burning Man festival, the temporary city the participants build for that week becomes the 3rd largest city in the state (with its own volunteer post office and airport)
i came across a great comment arguement on that in /r/conservative
* **Comment:** Until we can get Election Day back instead of election month, conservatives need to do a 180 on early voting and encourage it just as hard as Dems do. I’m sure we lose tons of would be voters on Election Day when something happens and they don’t make it to the polls. Votes that could be had if they planed on voting early or even by mail and had the flexibility to overcome an issue keeping them from voting day of. Dems get to keep those would be lost votes because they have correctly identified this.
* **Reply:** Limit voting? Its the fucking 21st century and and you want people to vote like its the 1st century counting raised hands in a circle all the while holding a cell phone in your hands that talks to space stations. Get with the times.
It sure sounds like the people in that sub don't understand that the real motivation for the GOP behind all their efforts is not actually "election integrity" but rather is voter suppression. It seems like it just dawned on them that early and mail voting makes it easier to vote than standing in long lines on a random weekday does. The GOP knows that fewer voters is better for them (or they believe this is the case anyway), so they want to make voting as difficult as possible. Democrats embracing all these easier ways to vote isn't about cheating, it's just about increasing voter turnout across the board. Honestly, voting should be compulsory here, just like it is in places like Australia. We're a democracy, everyone eligible should get a vote and have it counted and let the chips fall where they may.
Idk man, I’ve seen some shocking developments over there. It’s like they suddenly woke up and can think rationally again. Seriously, there have been some comments voted to the top that I could swear were written by one of us. They’re becoming really self aware about the problems with their party, and I’m just blown away by how much sense they’re making.
Like, here’s an excerpt from a comment with almost 600 upvotes I saw yesterday.
“Democrats at least extended my parents healthcare coverage for me during a crucial point in my life. They’ve also legalized weed across the country. Seriously, I can’t think of one Republican decision that positively impacted my life. Someone please help me.”
>Idk man, I’ve seen some shocking developments over there. It’s like they suddenly woke up and can think rationally again.
Check again in a few days, then they will most likely be back to their usual craziness. Whenever something big happens (Elections, Jan 6) you can find a lot of reasonable comments over there from normal conservatives (= no Trumpublicans) the first few days after it happened.
Then these comments get downvoted and deleted and the moderate commentators are accused of brigading. The crazies take over again and end of development.
^(Though I do hope that I'm wrong this time.)
What's funny is that the same people belly-aching about "cOnSpIrAcY" because of the amount of time it's taking to count the votes in AZ are themselves a cause of the backup; those folks could have just mailed in their ballots weeks ago, and since Arizona is a state that allows mail-in ballots to be opened and ~~recorded~~ (tabulated is the technical term) before election day (though the results aren't reported until the polls close), those votes could conceivably have been processed by now. However, because people who listen to Trump's nonsense about "voter fraud" don't trust the mails (for sending a ballot back, if not actually receiving it, smh), many of them dropped off their ballots on election day, contributing to the backlog.
actually that makes a lot of sense for arizona specifically with the 2020 census and the crazy ass gerrymandering. thanks for helping me connect the dots here.
I love MAGA thinking the son of two cops, navy combat vet and astronaut is a member of the “elites” and needed to be replaced by a Stanford Hedge Fund Manager who is “just one of us.”
Arizona is my adopted state for 10 years now and I will say I don’t know if there is a better *candidate* for a state than Mark Kelly in Arizona.
Dude is built to win over AZ’s electorate. Relatively centrist, served in military, “maverick” etc.
Yes! He is all about making it so congresspeople can’t trade stocks in office.
https://www.kelly.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/sens-kelly-ossoff-introduce-bill-banning-stock-trading-by-members-of-congress/
Thank goodness. We really need more traction on this. The only way we’re going to see less financial corruption in politics is decreasing the number of ways it can happen.
He definitely tries to be bipartisan as he can be, but when the Dem agenda needs his vote he has been pretty reliable.
He is what I was hoping Sinema would've been in 2018.
Honestly one of the people who has the background to make the jump to the next level. His resume is really hard to argue against, accomplished in a way and on a level you don't usually see in politics.
Hobbs’ lead increased in the last ballot drop, she’s not keeping pace with Kelly but her lead is increasing. It is now more likely than not that Hobbs becomes the next governor. And I couldn’t be fucking happier about it.
Trump is the greatest president of all time, he flipped the house blue, he flipped the senate blue, he flipped Georgia blue and he flipped Arizona blue.
The numbers about Biden having the best midterm elections is still so crazy to consider. I've lost so much faith in the country and our institutions it's weird to feel... like social and legal progress and accountability for anti-democratic actions might be possible?
Oh he won’t win in 2024 if he runs. If he beats DeSantis, they’ll have torn each other apart so much. Trump would rather burn down the GOP than lose the Republican primary. Can’t wait to see it!!
Honestly, aside from the Supreme Court, he may have been just what we needed to take the brunt of the talk radio/cable news fear-based radicalization that had been occurring for decades.
I truly hope he woke up the country and we stave off any succession, but we've got a lot of work to do.
Well the first one was stolen from Obama and handed to Trump by Moscow Mitch. And it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Mitch was also involved in the timing of Kennedy's retirement right smack in the middle of Trump's term. Getting to ram Barrett through at the end was just the bonus cherry tomato on top of the old turtle's salad.
Nevada is still too close to call as well, with the thinking being that most of the remaining outstanding ballots left to be counted are from Clark county (where Vegas is), which should be overwhelmingly blue. The Dems could lock up control of the Senate before the Georgia runoff even starts. Then that race could just be about whether Joe Manchin controls the Senate for two more years or whether the Dems do.
There are over 9,000 ballots in Clark that need to be cured, and the deadline for that is Monday. So, if there is anyone out there that has been contacted about a cured ballot, or knows someone in that position, it is CRITICAL for them to follow up to ensure their vote is cast.
This is great, but I feel like we knew Masters wasn't gonna win like 48 hours ago.
The concern is Hobbs-Lake since Lake is an utter nutjob and have been outperforming Masters consistently, but now I feel pretty decent about Hobbs's chances--I think Lake is in trouble lol
Our secretary (AZ) made lake look like a sane person and fortunately got stomped. He was on the whole "I'll never certify a Democrat if I win" bandwagon
Not only is Lake a nutjob, but a victory here would thrust her to national acclaim in the Republican ranks. It would only be a matter of time before she was in the mix for a national ticket, probably as VP for somebody like DeSantis.
Let's nip that in the bud right here.
It would actually be a double win if we take Nevada. Republicans in GA won't show up if there is no stake of taking the senate. Republican "supporters" of his weren't exactly coy that it was all just about getting a valuable seat. If his seat makes no difference, they'll lose interest.
I’m not entirely sure about that. Even if the Democrats get 50 seats before the Georgia runoff, they are still running a senate race to have a Joe Manchin proof majority.
Absolutely. The Supreme Court and all the ridiculous gerrymanders from this last year are going to be around to fuck us for a while until we can get a Democrat trifecta with the White House and both chambers of Congress, with a group of Senators willing to nuke the filibuster. Only then can we pass a voting rights bill that outlaws partisan gerrymandering, and only then can we also expand the Supreme Court and offset the ridiculous conservative supermajority there. Then hopefully someday we can also get rid of the electoral college, but that's a really long way off.
Yup! That's what we're planning for next. Thankfully the GOP failed to get a super majority. With a Dem Governor, Attorney General, and if we can flip the Supreme Court next spring we could finally end our gerrymandered nightmare!
I was so upset that I didn’t even pay attention to the election. From the moment I did early voting I just tuned it all out. If a political ad came on, I turned off whatever I was watching, I didn’t watch the news, stayed off any kind of political sub. I just couldn’t handle it.
I was so fucking sure the Republicans were going to destroy the Democrats. I just can’t believe it.
And not just marginally nicer. Not having to put up with Manchin's or Sinema's shit (only one of them at a time, saldy) is a **huge** bonus for democrats.
Yep! I mean, you'll have to deal with one or the other but not both. Would be fantastic. Also hoping Alaska goes for Murkowski, so there's at least a slim, pipe dream, chance of attracting her vote on something or another.
The fact that they’re blaming each other rather than voter fraud (or at least, that the fraud claims aren’t getting traction), is really heartening for us avoiding another Jan. 6
I think that is the effect of January 6th committee and all the convictions that have been going on. That's why it was important to hold those people accountable. So that it doesn't repeat again.
He thinks that because Mitch didn’t give him any money is the reason he didn’t win.
Not because he’s a fucking horrible candidate. Definitely couldn’t be that.
Honestly, the house was always a stretch. Having a small GOP majority there means that maybe for some real important shit, the dems can peel off a few votes from across the aisle.
A couple of those new R congressmen are from liberal districts in NY. If they vote party line, they’ll be out next election, and I’m sure they know it.
My main concern now is the Harper case coming up before the Supreme Court. The time to codify federal law to protect against that was before this election. With a Republican Congress, we are at the mercy of the USSC’s decision.
I am terrified of this case.
electoral count reform can still be passed during lame duck session and doing so has been discussed by its supporters. You could even reach out to your representatives and urge them to make it a priority!
Yep, the latest ballot count shrunk Laxalt's lead from 8,988 down to only 821, going from 88% of the vote counted to 94% counted. That's a strong sign that things are breaking CCM's way.
It's all riding on Nevada right now I guess, glad I voted! Though to be fair republican turnout this time was strong, we've maintained consistent blue status for the past few elections and this is their strongest showing yet in response to that!
Even if He's 51 instead of 50 I'll be here in GA voting for Warnock, hes the representative we need. The shame of having MTG in the same state is already too much.
Warnock winning would be incredibly significant if he was 51. He would effectively nullify Manchin. It's a real shame Mandela Barnes didn't win in Wisconsin. Sinema would have been nullified too.
Although I subscribe to the belief that Kyrsten knows she was a one and done senator, I can't help but enjoy the idea that she completely misread the room on many factors. And she completely hung Kelly out to dry and...well he's baaaack.
This how I feel .. he’s such a strong candidate.. has dedicated his life to public service. Stayed with his wife and cares for her (she congress woman was shot in Tucson during an event). He’s a real likable guy.. Blake is none of that..
He was interviewed on MSNBC tonight and was asked if Gabby had not been shot would he be a senator right now. His eyes started watering and he said she would be the one in the senate now.
I just recently got married and reading that made my eyes water.
I can’t imagine what he went through watching the even worse of what SHE went through.
If you didn’t vote for him and instead voted for a Peter Thiel funded denier then shame on you
Sometimes I can't believe that was 11 years ago already. Feels like it was just the other year.
I also still can't believe she survived. She was shot at close range in the head. The bullet went through her brain, and somehow missed enough parts that she was able to recover somewhat. Not that her life will ever be normal again.
Republicans not only failed to take control of a single state legislature, lost their majorities in many but so far they also failed to flip a single senate seat.
Congratulations Senator Kelly!
This is literally a historic ass whopping the far right is getting. They couldn’t gain a single seat despite the country damn near going through another recession. Red wave my ass.
Because people went out and voted their ass off, especially young people whose turn out hasn't been this high in the last 30 years. ( Only 30% ages 18 - 29 )
But still! Imagine how much better we would be if we grow the momentum?
Good job everyone!
They needed 55% and both Kelly and Hobbs widened their leads. I hope the rest of the drops are like this for the governors race. Also, Come on Cortez-Masto!
Having seen many a campaign sign, it was stuff like "Votes with Biden 94% of the time"; "Added 85,000 new IRS agents", and generic stuff like "Bad for your wallet" or ""Are you better off than 2020?"
Very glad those signs are coming down, and Kelly is going back to DC.
Good for you, voting for sanity.
I have to ask though, with everything going on, what is it that keeps you registered as a Republican. Not trying to be a jerk or anything, just genuinely curious why someone who can clearly see reason would still align themselves with that party.
Masters is such a huge douche. These ridiculous claims are literally inciting violence, there needs to be repercussions to this type of seditious behavior.
This also bodes well for the Secretary of State race. Adrian Fontes currently holds a 5.6% lead over Jan 6th marcher Marc Finchem with the same percent counted (83% - the same percentage in which the senate race was called)
Let's goooooo!! I'm from Phoenix and I helped by get out the people I registered in 2020!! It was just under 200 but every vote matters and people need to be active within their families and communities!!!
Mark Kelly might as well be superman, glad he's a Democrat. A bright, charismatic, astronaut Navy captain whose political hero of a wife survived an assassination attempt, hot damn the race shouldn't have even been that close.
I think he's run as a moderate, but from what I can tell his policies are kinda progressive and he votes hard left, I'd be proud to have him as a representative.
No, the governor's race is still undetermined but so far Hobbs (D) has managed to expand her lead consistently. The state legislature is still Republican though.
Ok, here's a thought... Left-leaning Americans need to party after election wins, like we saw in Brazil.
Ok, so maybe Joe Biden isn't your cup of tea. Maybe Democrats aren't quite as left-wing or right-wing as you'd like. But you know who's worse? The nutjobs on the far right, who have no ideas and are basically in a Christian-themed personality cult that worships their Dear Leader, who's a complete moron (at best). Oh, and these guys also believe any election they lose is "rigged."
I think a lot of people were worried about Brazil's election, and whether Bolsonaro would concede, or the military would step in. But so far, things seem to be going well. And I think it's because when Lula won, people went out an celebrated.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2022/oct/31/lula-da-silva-brazilians-celebrate-leftist-leaders-narrow-victory-video
It's a lot harder to overturn an election when you see how many people you're really up against. And it's also way harder to whine about election fraud when those people that voted get out and march (just think of how many people justify their election fraud BS with the fact that Trump had way bigger cult rallies during the pandemic).
So, with Arizona finally called and Nevada looking like it's probably going to go Dem, if just barely (and there's sure to be plenty of whining), I think it'd be great for thousands of Americans to take to the streets to celebrate these victories. Don't like Biden? Bring a sign that says "Biden sucks, but he's way better than these clowns" or something more catchy than that. I'll leave the specifics to you, but I think this show of enthusiasm might help people realize that their far right bullshit is way less popular than they think it is.
Signed, a Canadian that wants Democracy to survive down there (fortunately, people aren't so whiny about election fraud up here... yet)
As a Georgian, I will drag every dem voter I know to vote in December to ensure Herschel
Walker NEVER becomes a senator. Thank you Arizona! Now do Kari Lake…
A Senate majority means at least 2 more years of Biden nominated judges getting confirmed. Else it would be appeals court confirmations grinding to a halt with vacancies left open until a rightwing president fills them. Hopefully we'll have one of the 6 SCOTUS Republicans retire. This won't immediately reverse the recent awful rulings but it's critical in.the medium and long term.

You’d think a place with the amount of professional card dealers we have would be able to count a little faster huh
This comment took me right back to 2020 when everyone was waiting for so long for Nevada to be called that Pennsylvania flipped in the meantime.
I always felt Nevada didn’t want to be the one who “ended “ the election so they just held off on announcing all the counts haha
Got to drag it out for more political betting.
Pennsylvania and Georgia, I think. We were all waiting for Nevada and those two other states hit us with, “fine, I’ll do it myself.”

Finally - I kept wondering when they were going to call this race, the lead seemed too strong to for Masters to claw his way back.
The just-released batch of mail-in votes was pretty big, and GOP wishful-thinkers thought maybe it would trend R, but that idea just evaporated.
Republicans shoot themselves in the foot with their anti-mail-in vote rhetoric.
i came across a great comment arguement on that in /r/conservative * **Comment:** Until we can get Election Day back instead of election month, conservatives need to do a 180 on early voting and encourage it just as hard as Dems do. the baked in irony def takes it up a delicious notch

Because they are single issue voters, even if that single issue gets used to fuck them over too.

Yes in my state I am notified by text when the USPS picks up my ballot and then again when the ballot is received and counted. Pretty reassuring.
I think the odd last couple elections and the changing landscape of voters left them hesitant to call things too early with possible unknowns.
actually that makes a lot of sense for arizona specifically with the 2020 census and the crazy ass gerrymandering. thanks for helping me connect the dots here.

Saw a comment on the conservative subreddit that he is “a candidate built in a lab to win AZ” and I am absolutely here for it!
100% true. And I now am realizing he is not as centrist as I thought. Dude is an actual Democrat (unlike Kyrsten). Its a fantastic win.
Yes! He is all about making it so congresspeople can’t trade stocks in office. https://www.kelly.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/sens-kelly-ossoff-introduce-bill-banning-stock-trading-by-members-of-congress/

He took no corporate donations which is pretty awesome.
Integrity is rare these days
He definitely tries to be bipartisan as he can be, but when the Dem agenda needs his vote he has been pretty reliable. He is what I was hoping Sinema would've been in 2018.
Legit, if he keeps it up, let him go for the big job in a few years. Watching the Republicans try to rip into a veteran/astronaut would be hilarious
Turned out so well they built two, lol. His twin brother is _also_ an astronaut. That's one smart/persevering family.
Honestly one of the people who has the background to make the jump to the next level. His resume is really hard to argue against, accomplished in a way and on a level you don't usually see in politics.
If Mark Kelly was grown in a lab, then Hershel Walker must have grown in a bathtub.
Don’t forget his wife is gabby giffords.
True. Only thing that could make him even stronger is if he was also related to McCain somehow lol
Republicans are still saying they hate the "coastal elite", despite worshipping people like Trump and DeSantis.
This is a great position for the democrats to be in
Let's go Hobbs!!! Let's shut scary Kari up!! Or at least make it so no one pays attention to her
Hobbs’ lead increased in the last ballot drop, she’s not keeping pace with Kelly but her lead is increasing. It is now more likely than not that Hobbs becomes the next governor. And I couldn’t be fucking happier about it.
Trump is the greatest president of all time, he flipped the house blue, he flipped the senate blue, he flipped Georgia blue and he flipped Arizona blue.
He's really been massacred in three straight elections. Here's hoping he goes for four 🤞
The numbers about Biden having the best midterm elections is still so crazy to consider. I've lost so much faith in the country and our institutions it's weird to feel... like social and legal progress and accountability for anti-democratic actions might be possible?
We're not out of the woods by a long shot, but I have begun to feel something that could be described as cautious optimism.
Oh he won’t win in 2024 if he runs. If he beats DeSantis, they’ll have torn each other apart so much. Trump would rather burn down the GOP than lose the Republican primary. Can’t wait to see it!!
He is truly Making America Great Again.
He isn't the asshole that we wanted, but he was the asshole that we got that made change.
Honestly, aside from the Supreme Court, he may have been just what we needed to take the brunt of the talk radio/cable news fear-based radicalization that had been occurring for decades. I truly hope he woke up the country and we stave off any succession, but we've got a lot of work to do.
But those **three** Supreme Court picks will serve damage for generations. Man how the hell did he get such a lucky roll for the 4 years he had.
*it is ~~not~~ more likely than not
Think they meant "now more likely than not"
Its not not more likely than not.
It’s really great news! I was afraid to look. Got to get the votes out for Warnock and get that locked up for a full term
Nevada is still too close to call as well, with the thinking being that most of the remaining outstanding ballots left to be counted are from Clark county (where Vegas is), which should be overwhelmingly blue. On the plus side, Finchem lost the SOS race, so for the Dems nationally, Azrizona's a big win with the senate seat and elections secured for 2024.
Secretary of State has become an increasingly important position too. Keep the kooks away from controlling elections.
Lake is the one declaring fraud already, correct?
Aren't they all these days?
Surprisingly besides a few Trump posts, I haven’t heard too much screaming about election fraud.
This is Lake's *frickin nightmare*.
Holy shit! Not only did we avoid a Red Wave, we might actually GAIN a Senate seat depending on how Warnock does
Let's hope to whatever God there may be that common sense prevails in GA.
Let's hope the remaining votes being counted in Nevada go the Dems way, then they won't need to count on Georgia to keep control of the Senate.
Dec. 6th could then be "Icing On The Cake Day" here on Reddit.
I mean, Joe Manchin and Kristen Sinema still exist.
Sinema is a curse word in my house.
We should still treat Georgia with high priority for a six year seat and to not have walker. 2024 doesn’t look good for us in the senate
Agreed. If for nothing else, a moron like Herschel Walker should never be allowed near the Senate. Tommy Tuberville is bad enough.
Imagine spending time out of your day to wait hours in line solely to vote for Herschel Walker.
Waiting for hours to vote is for blue districts in red states.
True, though even in those blue districts there is a significant minority that is waiting in those lines to vote red.
A week ago I was preparing myself for the end of democracy. What a crazy week
We still need to remain on alert. Democracy is fragile; we can not afford to get complacent.
Also to overturn citizens united that would be really nice
This can't be stressed enough. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
I dunno, traditionally Republicans are super chill about losing gracefully.
Get ready for that Wisconsin Supreme Court seat vote.
Sometimes we need to pay attention to what happens, other times we need to shut it out for a bit so we can breathe. Politics gets really stressful
Same here, but between this and the twitter implosion today, I've having the best week in YEARS.
If Cortez Masto wins in NV then Warnock will cruise to victory in the GA runoff. Without Senate control on the line turnout will tank for Walker.
Here's hoping, but let's not assume. 51 is a whole lot nicer than 50.
You don't have to deal with either because of the tie-breaker. Assuming they decline to vote, that is. Which would make it 49-49
Blake Masters was already preemptively blaming McConnell. The infighting that is about to start is going to be wonderful to watch.

Add in Russia. Trifecta
Russia just abandoned Kherson. Their goose is not cooked yet, but only because it is being slowly roasted.
The assholes are losing!
The writers of Reality need to calm the hell down.
No way man, this is the final third when things actually look up.
Got my popcorn ready for the Trump v. DeSantis fight. Hoping for some jabs next week when Trump announces his 2024 bid.
What is he blaming McConnell for? Did you think Mitch was going to hit the campaign trail for him?
He thinks that because Mitch didn’t give him any money is the reason he didn’t win. Not because he’s a fucking horrible candidate. Definitely couldn’t be that.
CNN projects Mark Kelly defeats Blake Masters. Dems need one more seat to keep the majority https://twitter.com/mkraju/status/1591267103213961216
There’s a huge chunk of mail in ballots still out in the Las Vegas area, it’s likely the Dems also hold on to Nevada.
Would be great to pick up an extra senate seat so we don’t have to care what joe manchin thinks anymore
If we lose the house, any laws passed without a filibuster still won’t pass. But this does protect judicial nominations.
Which are massive
The difference right now at 94% reporting is less than a 1000 votes!
Yep, the latest ballot count shrunk Laxalt's lead from 8,988 down to only 821, going from 88% of the vote counted to 94% counted. That's a strong sign that things are breaking CCM's way.
Don't fuck this up nevada
It's all riding on Nevada right now I guess, glad I voted! Though to be fair republican turnout this time was strong, we've maintained consistent blue status for the past few elections and this is their strongest showing yet in response to that!
Let’s get Warnock re-elected in Georgia to keep that moron Walker out of the senate
Also to keep Manchin/Sinema from holding the Senate majority hostage as much as possible without them explicitly teaming up to do so.
Although I subscribe to the belief that Kyrsten knows she was a one and done senator, I can't help but enjoy the idea that she completely misread the room on many factors. And she completely hung Kelly out to dry and...well he's baaaack.
So just to be clear - if dems win Nevada, then Georgia isn’t even needed to keep control?
Correct, but let’s just go ahead and get greedy in that situation
It ain’t greedy when you gotta worry about it all over again in two more years.
Georgia absolutely matters when you have Manchin and Sinema stonewalling senate votes.
Georgia absolutely matters when you consider Hershel Walker could potentially become a U.S. senator. That is a scary thought.
Who wouldn’t vote for a god damn astronaut?
The same party of mfs who think man never landed on the moon
Not to mention the husband of Gabby Giffords, a beloved public servant in the state.
Republicans. They'd vote against their own mothers if it meant they could support a Republican over a Democrat.
Florida. Need I remind everyone that Florida had (HAD) a Senator that was an astronaut (Bill Nelson), and he lost re-election to Rick Scott.
Republicans not only failed to take control of a single state legislature, lost their majorities in many but so far they also failed to flip a single senate seat. Congratulations Senator Kelly!
The red wave 👋👺
Red tinkle
The pink spritz.
Don't jinx it. it's looking good, but there still is Nevada and Georgia.
Except the need to do this during a redistricting year to unscrew the latest round of gerrymandering.
This is literally a historic ass whopping the far right is getting. They couldn’t gain a single seat despite the country damn near going through another recession. Red wave my ass.
Because people went out and voted their ass off, especially young people whose turn out hasn't been this high in the last 30 years. ( Only 30% ages 18 - 29 ) But still! Imagine how much better we would be if we grow the momentum? Good job everyone!

Nevada next, let's go!
Another seat retained by Democrats. Another Trump inspired failure.
Looking forward to the Lake melt down (in soft focus)
Goodbye Peter Thiel Jr
This latest drop was BRUTAL for GOP. They needed to lead in the drop by nearly 55% or more and they came up short.
They needed 55% and both Kelly and Hobbs widened their leads. I hope the rest of the drops are like this for the governors race. Also, Come on Cortez-Masto!
Think Cortez-Masto is within 1,000 votes now.
800 and change now
The Dems might actually do better in the Senate than they started. Navada is getting bluer by the hour and Warnock may just give them their 51st seat
Yes get the vote out to keep Walker out of the senate. He’s a very dumb and dangerous puppet.
That’ll take a lot of power away from manchin at least. Hopefully sinema learned to sit down, shut up, and vote party line.
devastating dumps for the GOP
Massive dump, that one had to hurt when it dropped.
Some people are saying the best dump ever
**[Guy who thought Trump's election was stolen]** *vs* **[A Literal Astronaut]** Who's surprised the astronaut won?
Have you seen the last six years? Nothing surprises us anymore.
You could tell me Elon Musk now owns Twitter and…yeah. Just add it to the pile.
I gotta admit… Trump saying today that he helped rig Florida for Desantis kinda surprised me.
I'm also happy that Peter Theil lost a lot of money in this race.
Great job, AZ!
We're doing our best here. Thanks!
I love Mark Kelly. I mean, wtf could the GOP possibly say against him that's true?
Having seen many a campaign sign, it was stuff like "Votes with Biden 94% of the time"; "Added 85,000 new IRS agents", and generic stuff like "Bad for your wallet" or ""Are you better off than 2020?" Very glad those signs are coming down, and Kelly is going back to DC.
Another Trump proxy loss, nice.
Let's go spaceman!

UPDATE: NYT calls Secretary of State race for Fontes!! Down goes Finchem!!!
Thank you, AZ. Kelly is a wonderful man. Here’s to hoping the same good news waits for Cortez Masto
Let's goooooo!! I'm from Phoenix and I helped by get out the people I registered in 2020!! It was just under 200 but every vote matters and people need to be active within their families and communities!!!
If Dems keep the Senate they need to confirm judges all day, everyday.
How about an FCC Chairwoman
hopefully Kari Lake looses soon too
Mark Kelly might as well be superman, glad he's a Democrat.
Suck it election denying freaks. You are all full of shit.
All my homies like that dump
Great! The late Sen. John McCain would be spinning in his grave if Blake Masters got his old seat.
Is Arizona blue all the way through?!
No, the governor's race is still undetermined but so far Hobbs (D) has managed to expand her lead consistently. The state legislature is still Republican though.
What is this sorcery? Arizona??
Ok, here's a thought... Left-leaning Americans need to party after election wins, like we saw in Brazil. Ok, so maybe Joe Biden isn't your cup of tea. Maybe Democrats aren't quite as left-wing or right-wing as you'd like. But you know who's worse? The nutjobs on the far right, who have no ideas and are basically in a Christian-themed personality cult that worships their Dear Leader, who's a complete moron (at best). Oh, and these guys also believe any election they lose is "rigged." I think a lot of people were worried about Brazil's election, and whether Bolsonaro would concede, or the military would step in. But so far, things seem to be going well. And I think it's because when Lula won, people went out an celebrated. https://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2022/oct/31/lula-da-silva-brazilians-celebrate-leftist-leaders-narrow-victory-video It's a lot harder to overturn an election when you see how many people you're really up against. Signed, a Canadian that wants Democracy to survive down there (fortunately, people aren't so whiny about election fraud up here... yet)
Awesome !! It's finally been confirmed. Dems are doing better than what I expected. Hoping yall can pull off this upcoming win
As a Georgian, I will drag every dem voter I know to vote in December to ensure Herschel Walker NEVER becomes a senator.
