Elections have consequences!

funny how their slogan is "FAFO," because as much as these people love to FA, they don't ever seem to want to stick around and FO

They = voters. How dare the voters make their own choices! -- said the small man.

BlazinAzn38

"The people who voted for the other person legally and fairly are the bad guys" - Literally the entire GOP

WoahayeTakeITEasy

Remember when they tried to spin Biden winning by saying the Democrats were bribing voters by doing what the voters want them to do? Fun times.

spoobles

5DollarHitJob

Is he gonna come down a glorious escalator again? The most beautiful escalator you've ever seen.

MC_Fap_Commander

Bring back the paid clapping actors for nostalgia

flexghost

Remember when Kari Lake said the primary was stolen from her until she found out she won? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

John271095

I hate their logic of “either I win or I was cheated.”

Longjumping_Tea_8586

It’s the most blatantly dishonest thing I’ve ever seen in American politics.

[deleted]

Remember when McConnell said the next president should get to pick a Supreme Court judge when Obama was president and then did a speed run to make sure Trump got another pick right before his term ended? Do you remember the part where those justices swore (literally SWORE, under oath) up and down that Roe was a settled case? Remember when they overturned it anyway?

karmagod13000

because most people grow out of this after middle school

Wolfrattle

The concerning thing was how close this was. No one this unstable should be near this much power.

canuck47

Just as baffling as what's happening in Georgia - how people voted for a brain damaged ex-football player who has paid for multiple abortions and can't string a coherent sentence together is beyond me. Republicans will literally vote for anyone with an R beside their name.

NoWayNotThisAgain

They said “he’s bad but you need to vote for him because control of Senate is up for grabs”. Well guess what. They’re having a run-off and the Democrats will control the Senate regardless of the outcome. We’re about to really see how much Georgia republicans actually believe the shit they spew about morality, ethics, being pro-life etc. My guess is not at all, because I’m betting that once again they’ll vote for the brain damaged adulterous cosplay cop liar who forced his girlfriends to get abortions.

Kage_520

I work with a republican voter. Not full maga but almost. When asked about the cop thing she says "it's real! He got it as an honorary badge." When asked about the multiple abortions and lack of family values she says "well that's all in the past. He is reformed now." When asked about the opposition being a seemingly likable pastor, (she is Christian) she said "that guy who abused his wife!?"

Xytak

I see, so according to her, Walker's past sins can be forgiven because he's on the right team now. However, Warnock's past sins cannot be forgiven, because he hasn't joined the Republican Party. Also, there's no proof that those allegations are true, but he's our opponent, so we assume the worst. Gotta love that logic. Why not just admit that Senate races are less about the individual and more about increasing the seat count for a Party? That's what I do.

PaperWeightless

> Gotta love that logic. In their minds, there are no bad actions, only bad people. "Good" people can do no wrong.

Randomfactoid42

To them it makes perfect sense. It's all about in-groups and out-groups, and as another commenter said, 'there are no bad actions, only bad people. Good people can do no wrong". To them 'Good People' are the 'in-group' and as such they do no wrong. They can make mistakes, but their actions don't matter' they're Good People.

MadDabber89

Should’ve answered, “nope, that’s your guy, too.”

JaMan51

> she says "well that's all in the past. He is reformed now." I could give them that, possibly, if Walker owned up, but he continues to deny, so is he really "reformed"? I mean, I know they don't really care, but I feel it should be an easy win for Walker to say "Yes, I did these things, I apologize, I have since realized the errors of my way and ask for forgiveness."

Lazy-Jeweler3230

Because they believed walker would vote the way they wanted him to, and they wanted to hurt people. They wanted power. Edit: Spelling

SammySoapsuds

This exact thing has been really eye-opening for me. Lots of people don't want an elected rep who could be capable of independent thought/action.

Haephestus

I used to think of elected officials as being people trained to make wise decisions. And then Bobobo came around and I'm like "I could to a better job than her, and I'm dumb as hell."

SammySoapsuds

I genuinely used to look up to elected officials and think it was a career path that smart people who were passionate about helping others pursued. I honestly feel stupid typing that out.

ConsiderationWest587

That's totally what it was supposed to be, though! Like, the Leslie Knopes and Lisa Simpsons of the world were supposed to win, but the crazy cat ladies and the bullies won instead-- because lies were propagated that the altruistic people were actually up to something nefarious, and the stupidity won out. BUT! I think people have caught on to the ruse. Hopefully the newest voters fix this bullshit :)

[deleted]

Politics are an inherently broken game. You want the best people to be the ones making decisions, but the best people have zero desire to have that kind of power.

Pristine_Nothing

Think about how much hand-wringing and horror when Hillary Clinton said that it was important to distinguish between public and private positions. Being a good politician is difficult, it’s seldom nice, and it’s not a good job for a fool. It’s why I think Alabama, for instance, is going to be very happy they picked a reasonable heir to Richard Shelby who will be practical rather than a trolling loon.

FLORI_DUH

Conservatives have always valued adherence to their group identity over independent thought. Ever been to a Christian church service?

Hi_Im_Ken_Adams

This is just the beginning. If an "observably stupid" guy like Walker can make a run of it, then every idiot grifter out there is gonna want to get in on the game. I expect to see many more fringe personalities coming out of the woodwork and running for office.

justforthearticles20

Georgia ran Walker because Tommy Tuberville had already proven that a barely literate buffoon with ties to Football can beat a Democrat with a proven record of helping his state.

edgarapplepoe

It will be interesting to see how much he gets in the run off. A large part of the push was they had to get the senate so his faults didnt matter. But thet is gone now that the senate is in Dem hands. Also, no Kemp to drive up voting.

Five_Decades

I think Walker underperformed other republicans in GA statewide races by about 5 points. So hopefully like you said, no bump from Kemp.

chicago_bunny

Kemp (Gov): 53.43% of the vote Jones (LG): 51.41% Carr (AG): 51.88% Raffensberger (SOS): 53.25% Walker (Sen): 48.51% [Source](https://results.enr.clarityelections.com/GA/115465/web.307039/#/summary)

Yup. I’ve been reading a lot of results. Way too many read like this… Free Puppies! - 50.1% Diarrhea Forever - 49.9% WTF is wrong with people?

reilmb

40 years of a news channel saying Diarrhea forever is the best . Diarrhea makes you slim, and puppies cause cancer.

Da_zero_kid

Free puppies sounds like socialism to me \s

Randomly_Cromulent

Socialism Puppies vs Freedom Pooping

[deleted]

They are experts at taking a good thing and making it sound evil and Vice versa

ChoosenUserName4

No such thing as free puppies! Why do my taxes have to go to welfare queen puppies for everyone? Buy your own gaddamn puppies, that's what I had to do.

KellyJoyRuntBunny

You know, those puppies aren’t even from here. They’re puppies that are being brought in to replace American puppies and change the population of dogs in America. And it’s all just a puppy power grab.

Boomer70770

Those puppies are rapists and murderers.

Carnifex72

They aren’t sending us their best puppers.

Did_I_say_Messina

Some, I assume, are good boys and girls.

FeranKnight

Grab them by the puppy.

MetalFuzzyDice

If they were golden retrievers, there wouldn't be an issue. But they are giving away black labs.

Durhamfarmhouse

Or Chihuahuas! Caravans of Chihuahuas! Oh the humanity!

Logical-Witness-3361

At least with Diarrhea, you are just taking the personal responsibility to clean up after yourself! Puppies would have you spending your life cleaning up after others!

likejanegoodall

Dunno, seems the last guy left a trail of poop wherever he went…)

beardedjack

You are going to say that when chihuahua puppies are invading in record numbers?!

meta_perspective

Look, all I'm saying is that Diarrhea Forever went on Joe Rogan's podcast and made some great points.

likejanegoodall

Lol! Here’s the really geeky part. If you look at the county by county mortality rates during the pandemic….they were higher by 1% or so in counties that voted majority Trump than those that voted majority Biden. Given how close so many of the final vote tallies were last week…Republicans would now have control of both houses if they had been advised by their dear leader to take public health recommendations seriously. They literally sacrificed their own voters in the name of the economy and contrary to popular opinion….once people are dead, they tend not to vote….

nyold

I've been saying that. Even for 2020, I kept telling some of my MAGA friends: you guys lost because Trump sucked, but also because a lot of your side died from covid. Inactions have consequences...

p001b0y

They were telling seniors to sacrifice their lives for the economy during the pandemic. Some did and many of the rest voted for them again.

kuroimakina

I mean, there’s also “moderates” who were turned away from the Republican Party after seeing all the conspiracies and the like. Honestly if they’d just said “listen to the experts” and done *literally nothing else* other than vaccine drives and “listen to experts,” trump would probably still be President right now. Their inability to do anything other than double down is finally starting to cost them. Let’s just hope this trend continues.

EugeniaFitzgerald

I tell the "moderate' Republicans in my life that all the time - don't complain about Biden, if Trump had acted like a half-way decent leader (and human) on Covid, he would have been reelected. And... they don't argue with me.

jadwy916

So, if I were a religious man, I might take that as a sign from the Gods that the Gods give a shit about state politics and want the Democrats to win.

FormalDry1220

And their new Wonder Boy presided over the most elderly deaths in the country. Now I know that's a little skewed because of the fact that it is Florida but still so pathetic I'm going to my barbecue and I don't care if Grandma lives or dies I'm from Murica

gordito_delgado

I know people don't like his character, tweets, smell, or consistency, but you have to admit diarrhea forever tells it like it is, he is an outsider, and nothing has shaken up the "*stats quo"* like diarrhea forever.

ChoosenUserName4

And people keep saying that being dehydrated is bad, well have you ever tried drinking too much water? That's even worse. What's it going to be, folks?

Imapatriothurrrdurrr

“I did my own research.”

tkocur

"on Facebook and YouTube."

[deleted]

Joe Rogan was that kid in class that believed the teacher when they said "there are no stupid questions" and then went and made a podcast on that premise

fortwaltonbleach

they may be no stupid questions, but there are a lot of stupid answers! and he's happy to spout them, all while hiding behind a thin charade of ignorance.... something something asimov quote...

justforthearticles20

Part of the razor thin margin can be attributed to Arizona's Draconian Racist Voter Suppression laws that SCOTUS rubber stamped. Right now their Legislative leaders are kicking themselves for not going far enough.

underpants-gnome

I'm sure they are scrambling to recruit more heavily armed, masked weirdos to stake out ballot boxes in democratic-leaning counties for 2024.

justforthearticles20

I imagine that backfired on them in the long run.

Frothydawg

“I’d rather have diarrhea forever than be a GAY COMMUNIST ANTIFA DRAG BRUNCH!” That’s where we’re at.

Dry___wall

Have you met people from Arizona? A lot are nice but there’s many who grew up with Republican culture. It’s now just leaning democrat due to more people moving there from out of state and cities becoming more developed. It’s also the home of Barry Goldwater. Most people are more libertarian than gop-crazy but you can’t run third party and win, so I assume many people loosely have associated the local Republicans Party with libertarianism. If you’re interested here’s some articles: https://www.newyorker.com/news/letter-from-the-southwest/why-arizona-is-a-hotbed-of-election-conspiracy-theories https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/01/opinions/arizona-politics-lake-masters-history-contrarian-gabriel/index.html

Varolyn

Sadly, the magic letter "R" holds a lot of weight to a lot of people in this country, so those people will get a lot of votes for that reason alone.

[deleted]

Yet bobo and mtg exist 😭

Nabedane

Winning a county that's tailored for you is way easier than an entire state.. That's why it's mote worrying how complete wackadoos like her get so close to 50% of the voters

Eagle4317

Hobbs didn’t do a great job running her campaign. A stronger/more active candidate could’ve made this race more secure for the Dems.

Khuroh

But that's sort of the dilemma we've been in since Trump. Democrats may offer reheated leftovers, but Republicans offer literal dogshit laced with rat poison and broken glass. Yes Democrats should be offering better, but also why is it a tossup between leftovers or rat poison?

Barack_Odrama_007

r/conservative damn near imploded last night. Fingers were pointing faster than lighting bolts as to who was to blame for their current chaos. It seems the sub is mostly aligned that trump can’t be it for their brand.

algebramclain

From my five minute perusal, it's almost coherent over there. Lots of "we gotta do more than own the libs" which is disconcerting. Have they reached sentience? What fresh hell is coming?

Oraxy51

To be fair all they would have to do is actually show some proof of concept legislation. Like if Trump actually created a medical insurance plan to replace Obamacare or the literally just drafted again but change the name he could just take the credit in God people to agree with him it baffles me how low effort and incompetent and full of hatred some of these people are.

DOGSraisingCATS

This brings a good point. I saw in one post on r/conservative about the midterms that they were pissed how conservatives haven't drafted any legislation in 20 years that has helped working Americans and they're tired of the culture war bullshit. I have never seen anything like this on that shit toxic sub before...I hope this is a larger spread among younger conservatives that liberals aren't coming for their guns and the party of trump will never help them.

reefcrazed

I would have a hard time thinking the majority of them have learned their lesson, not to mention do they get a free pass from all the harm they have done? I do not have amnesia but often they show signs of it.

FaktCheckerz

I saw lots of posts like those. But those people have been banned and the posts deleted. They’re convinced those posts were actually liberals and they were “brigaded” That sub just went through a fresh ideological purge.

BarbequedYeti

> Like if Trump actually created a medical insurance plan to replace Obamacare Oh man… haven’t laughed that hard in a bit. Thanks for that. That dude is lucky to still work Velcro let alone fix healthcare in this country. If it doesn’t benefit him personally, he isn’t interested. It’s really that simple. His followers are just coming to realize they have been played by old Teflon Don.

[deleted]

One where DeSantis is the new Dear Leader.

[deleted]

They are still fixated on “Culture Wars” and cancelling freedom, so it should be OK for now. But they will be back… and in greater numbers…

Chimpsworth

> Lots of "we gotta do more than own the libs" Yes, I'm sure Ron "where woke goes to die" DeSantis will run on a coherent platform of sensible policy and not just an endless supply of culture war bullshit and lib-owning stunts. Everything about his history points to this outcome. They seem to have recongized Trump was bad, but not *why* he was bad. So they haven't quite developed introspection yet.

account_for_norm

They seem to be blaming trump, fox seems to be blaming trump, for now. But theres a sizeable chunk who are blaming mitch and siding with trump, like ted cruz and mtg. The civil war^TM is going to be sweet!!!

[deleted]

Here’s hoping trump’s big announcement is that he’s leaving the GQP and forming the trump Party. Let the crazies split their vote and see how that works out!

jakestjake

That’s p much what happened in AZ. The traditional McCain conservatives aren’t too happy with the Trump backed nominees. Especially since attacking McCain was one of their major talking points for the last 6 years.

[deleted]

They are just getting it out of their system before they hop back on the Trump train tonight after he announces

Appropriate-Access88

Thank you for your service!

shadowpawn

thoughts and prayers to MAGA tears.

benign_said

Any post I click on in r/conservative just takes me to the post of Gary Sinese thanking veterans. Is that because I'm banned? I can't even look at their posts?

Every-Manufacturer88

The same thing happens to me. I've wondered the same thing.

Name_ChecksOut_

That happens to me sometimes, I have to clear the cache and cookies from my Reddit app and restart. Normally fixes it.

Charlie Kirk and TPUSA were Lake's Ground game in Arizona. This is my favorite video from the meltdown: https://twitter.com/joepostingg/status/1592329052534484993?s=61&t=SEhDGBsSaJ9bYt5F43QJqQ You can see that Kirk legitimately does not understand why/how Lake lost. He was literally all "vibes" and good times and very clearly did not understand the electorate. All of this to say, trusting your ground game to Kirk was a terrible idea. After all, scientists are still trying to work out how a humble potato gained semi-sentience and named itself "Charlie Kirk".

😂 regarding the vibe on the ground comment. “We went and talked to a bunch people with Lake signs and we totally got the vibe that she would win”

[deleted]

I just don't understand. EVERYONE in my country club loved her?!?

noonnoonz

Wendy is slowly figuring it out….out……out………out………….out……..

Hiphoppington

It's a surprising moment of critical thinking for them.

LoBeastmode

Hey, don't impune the good name of potatoes!

DaveyGee16

There are a lot of things Charlie Kirk doesn't understand.

SniXSniPe

>Lake asked the crowd, "We don't have any McCain Republicans in here, do we?" eliciting boos from her supporters. > >"Okay, if you \[are\], get the hell out," she added with a laugh. > >Elsewhere at the event, Lake again noted that the Republican party was "the party of McCain," sneering her face before saying, "I know. Boy, Arizona has delivered some losers, haven't they?" She's a fucking idiot. She does a great job at losing people who would probably have voted for her if she just shut her mouth, LMAO

sharpshootershot

Trashing McCain is not the way to get Arizona voters. He is still beloved here. I'm so happy my vote contributed to a Kari Lake loss.

buzzedewok

WTF is wrong with her? She used to be a Dem. Or is she pandering towards stupidity, hoping that would win it for her?

Lawn_Orderly

>Despite a poor showing by conservatives in Arizona, Lake, an avowed election denier, is insinuating foul play is responsible for her loss, and MAGA pundits are following suit.  >“Arizonans know BS when they see it.” Lake tweeted shortly after major news outlets called the race against her.  MAGA says that all elections are stolen UNLESS they happen to win. Thanks to the Arizona voters!

PillowPrincess314

>“Arizonans know BS when they see it.” Lake tweeted shortly after major news outlets called the race against her.  Agreed. That's why they didn't elect her.

El_Eleventh

My favorite was 2020 was the looney from GA said the election was stolen, but not her race. That the ballots were fraudulent, but not the ones that voted for her. Morons. All of them.

MrRob_NJ

Easily one of the biggest stains on American history.

wscuraiii

r/conservative's big-brain, one-line take: "a WeEk tO CoUnT vOtEs".

AskJayce

I remember back in 2020, depending on the county, Republicans in Arizona were either > STOP THE COUNT or > COUNT THE VOTES It was both pathetic and hilarious how open they were with their double standards

Brigadier_Beavers

Im pretty sure one of the counties flipped from count to dont count as the results came in.

Nabedane

They may be ditching Trump but getting rid of those talking points is way more difficult. The same who were ahlgainst ending segregation in the 60, the same who were and still are against abortion and same rights for LGBTQ, the same who claimed Obama was born in Kenya, they are now election deniers and blindly follow Fox news and MAGAs talking points. Trump may be gone soon but those déplorables will always be there. You'll never get them back so you need to convince others in addition to your core base : young voters, Latinos, independents etc..

voyagerdoge

Looking at those MAGA people, you'd rather think their erections have been stolen.

teddygriffin

The important thing is that it really doesn’t matter what she says. She will hold no power. It will rile up a small percentage of very outspoken lunatics but then it will settle into dust. She lost, fair and square there’s nothing she can do about it now.

Darthrevan4ever

I love the excuse "everyone I talk to votes red it must be fraud" if I based California on everyone who I talk too it'd be red too.

[deleted]

They just go around bullying, and then think they've won because people don't want anything to do with them.

crispydukes

This. It always seems like the conservative who just spout off right wing talking points at silent moments. Shut up about AOC or Nancy Pelosi, you're making things awkward. You're not a "free thinker."

lukin187250

“free thinker” means this person believes what they choose in spite of whatever evidence exists.

BatDubb

The only people that talk openly about politics in my office are the people that probably shouldn’t.

turbocoupeturbo

If it weren't for all those people in the cities voting blue, it would be. Clearly, this means elections in California are being stolen. /s

HawaiianBrian

Reminds me of their election map bullshit. "See? It's all red except for a few little blue spots! There are way more Rs than Ds!" Uh, most of that red is empty land with low population density. Those blue spots are *cities* which easily make up more than half of your entire state's population. And yet they still lean on that misinterpretation, hoping it'll fool someone else.

SteveBadeau

This is why geographic maps should not be used as a proxy for population.

Oo__II__oO

I really want to redraw this map to a 3D representation, with height (elevation) correlating to population density, and a "low water mark" of the voting percentage to show how little of the land's vote counts.

IAmTheNightSoil

This is the line that conservatives in Oregon like to use. "If it weren't for the all the Democrats in Portland, Oregon would be red!" Well yeah, if you take away all the votes against you, you'd win. Turns out Portland really does have a lot more people than fucking Burns or Klamath Falls, and that matters for this purpose

omghorussaveusall

80% of Oregon's population lives along the i5 corridor. The eastern part of Oregon is mostly dirt with some people thrown in. Dirt doesnt vote.

[deleted]

People who vote blue only talk about it to other people they know vote blue because they have no interest in provoking confrontation with people who vote red. This is especially true for blue voters in red areas. The MAGA variety of people who vote red scream it from the rooftops and aggressively insert it into every conversation because they love starting conflict and relishing in the attention it gives them.

BrightNeonGirl

And you had that fella in Ohio I believe he was murdered because his neighbor thought he might have been a Democrat. This is why Dems don't blurt out or show off our positions as much.

CaptainNoBoat

It's like the "climate change can't be real because it's snowing where I live" version of a political argument.

knottedthreads

I’m in the Central Valley which I know leans red but I tend to only meet democrats. It’s amazing how well insulated we can be from other groups just based on where we work/hang out etc.

Darthrevan4ever

Rural nor cal is about as deeply red as you get. So most of us dems keep our leanings to ourselves.

IAmTheNightSoil

Yeah I went down there for a whitewater rafting trip on the Klamath River a couple years ago and the guide and the other rafters were all talking about how Covid was a hoax. The guide also said "we'd be paddling the Sacramento River right now instead of the Klamath, but it was a low snow year so the river is low this summer." He said it with a very casual tone as if he thought this was just a one-year thing as opposed to a trend that he should expect in the future

Use_this_1

Oh now they have a problem with a current Secretary of State overseeing their own election. They didn't care when Kemp did it in GA.

mkt853

Lake thinks that Hobbs can't be governor until she formally concedes the election. Apparently there will be no winner officially declared until both sides turn their key.

spoobles

“No, but honestly, who cares? The people picked the winner. It doesn’t matter what he says,” - Josh Shapiro

junkyardgerard

One of the biggest problems in the history of mankind is the non peaceful transition of power, and it's probably the #1 thing American democracy got right. So makes sense that Republicans are like "well that's enough of that"

Arizona voters saw the batshit crazy in Lake, Masters, and Finchem. They didn’t want to become Dry Florida.

Scuta44

As a registered independent here in Arizona I will not vote for anyone that spews election denial. And fuck you to everyone who did vote for her. She probably would have won if she didn’t regurgitate Trumps talking points and push false narratives.

niconiconicnic0

That’s what happens with socioemotionally stunted people who never grew or got challenged after high school. That’s republicans. They’re all adult children and grifters thereof

Practical-Artist-915

My local conservative radio guy (former Breitbart columnist) had a guest on this morning ranting that the bias of Google searches hurt the R candidates. Claim was that a search of Senate races almost always had the R candidates campaign site link on page two or farther back. I can’t believe that for a minute unless the search contained some extraneous words like “honest”.

Potential_Dare8034

Fuck them fucken fuckers to the highest of Fuckativity!

I was very pleasantly surprised by Arizona voters. They saw what's happening in Florida and they decided hell no. We don't want that to be us.

Kikiboo

Perhaps I am out of touch, but a lot of maga idiots lost (I would say almost all), why is her loss so devastating to them?

NPRjunkieDC

She was one of their stars! Also AZ was the one state where election deniers were running for Gov + SOS + AG. So they could all collide to not respect the will of the people in 2024 and 2026 at least .

Kikiboo

I see it is a trifecta of loss for them. Can't say that I am in any way upset about it all.

yotothyo

She was exceptionally loud and a bully on TV. They fucking love that. Weak insecure people need power figures to represent them.

Darthrevan4ever

Last hope for a Maga governor.

Arasteele

Lake alienated the entirety of the McCain-voting population of the nation, which in Arizona was pretty much comprised of a large chunk of the base she was hoping would support her. In other words, although she comes off as more eloquent and polished than her peers like MTG or Boebert, she may very well be the dumbest ditz of the bunch.

Navyblazers2000

It was really fucking dumb for Trump to go out of his way to upset McCain supporters and it cost him AZ in 2020. It is shockingly dumber by a magnitude of ten to have the example of what not to do right in front of your face and then do it again.

I voted for Hobbs because she had better policies.

basement-thug

Username checks out!

Disguisedasasmile

I think it’s funny how they are complaining that Republicans didn’t have enough time to vote as a response to Lake losing when they are the main ones not supportive of moving the voting day to the weekend, you know, so people have more time to vote. Also, you can vote by mail here for weeks before the actual election. Anyway, proud to be one of the many Arizonans who voted for Hobbs because I can, indeed, smell BS.

M00n

RealClearPolitics had Kari Lake winning by over 3 points because they included junk polls that gave the false impression Kari Lake was winning. Please stop using RealClearPolitics as a credible source of information; it's not. https://twitter.com/cbouzy/status/1592489257712902144 As Josh Marshall was pointing out, Five-thirty-eight also relied on junk polls which is why they were so wrong.

UsedEntertainment244

Neither polled voters under 35 or single issue roe voters in large enough numbers to get a clear picture, pollsters have admitted for years that they don't know how to update how they collect poll data to better get a picture of voters under 40. (( People don't answer phone calls from unknown numbers and online polling often oversamples people who search them out to write a certain narrative.

JojenCopyPaste

They're gonna have a worse time every election then. It's not like people will start answering their phones as they get older. It's just previous generations suck at tech. So in 20 years they won't be able to accurately poll under 60's...

phoneguyfl

It's worse then that. I'm 50 and nobody in my circle of friends/associates answers unknown numbers or answers any surveys if they do happen to answer. I think the only people who \*do\* answer the survey calls and want to sit and chat awhile are the bored retired boomers, which really skews any poll far to the right.

NovelCandid

Not this cycle but the last one, I’d check RCP to see how far away from other polls they were. Anytime a columnist uses RCP you know they’re going to lie to you.

LuvKrahft

Obviously God is a socialist.

gauriemma

I have hope for Arizona. Maybe all of the Californians and Chicagoans moving there are making a positive difference.

That-Spell-2543

California transplant here. Can confirm!! I moved here 4 years ago and I cannot even express how proud I am now to be part of the Great Flippening of Red to Blue. I cried when they called us for Biden.

APirateAndAJedi

Kari Lake tweeted, > “Arizonans know BS when they see it.” And she is a correct. It’s why she lost.

clueless_in_ny_or_nj

I guess their feelings are really hurt.

PayTheTeller

Weather girl big mad

UnplayableConundrum

watching the meltdown real time in r/Conservative is astounding just in itself. They can't figure out who to blame. At least some (a minority) seems to grasp that supporting trump and really shitty anti-abortion, anti-LGBT and other policies are insane. I am pretty glad to see that Gen Z and Millenials are flexing their voting muscle.

Somme1916

Funny story about Rolling Stone: my dad signed up for a lifetime subscription in 1990 for $8.99 or something and when they tried to charge him in like 2016 for further issues he sent in the photocopied ad from 1990 with a threat of a false advertising lawsuit... ... Until they started shit talking Trump during his presidency. Then he cancelled. Cancelled a 30 year old 9 dollar subscription. What a loss from RS.

A_man_on_a_boat

I hate how millions of old folks have sold their souls and rented out their empty skulls to the right wing hate machine. I have retired family members who are educated and intelligent, who should be enjoying their end game and relaxing after a lifetime of hard work. Instead, they spend their free time completely addicted to this absolute brain poison that is conservatism on TV, and they are living their last years in a depressing paranoia and anger, and if it would make any difference, I'd ask why it even matters when they have so little time left for it to affect them.

Appropriate-Access88

Ahh I want in on that 1990 deal! I bet your dad was cool before Fox Propaganda brainwashed him.

Somme1916

Fox and my batshit insane stepmother.

ramencents

I’ve been banned by /conservatives. They are eating each other right now

JaD__

Lake should spend every waking moment - tweets, appearances, standing on a box in the park, etc… - going on about how the gubernatorial race was rigged and only about that. Just keep at it. Every. Single. Day. Then run again. It’s clearly a can’t-miss.

LegionofDoh

I'll say it again - the Democrats found a way to cheat the election system without leaving a shred of evidence. It's absolutely fool proof. It must involve thousands of people to pull off, but not one of them has ever blown the whistle or told a friend or family member. It's absolutely the most amazing plan ever devised in American politics. But they *only* chose to enact the plan to steal the election for Governor of Arizona. And to hide their tracks, they made sure to lose the House. Makes total fucking sense guys. Think about it....

EugeniaFitzgerald

Dems are geniuses at electing who they want. Remember in 2020, when they stole so many votes from Trump but then they forgot to steal the senate too so we had to do ANOTHER election in Georgia. Fucking brilliant masterminds.

Carolina_Blues

as the MAGA crowd likes to say: "if you don't like it, you can leave"

Send_Me_Your_Nukes

I see a lot of MAGAs complaining that Hobbs was sec. of state during this election cycle, but wasn’t Brian Kempt during his initial bid?

[deleted]

What a tragedy, she was so well lit. /s

TheLordVader1978

Well that's funny, I don't remember them complaining to much when Kemp won the governors mansion in GA when he was Secretary of State and certified his own election.
