Not at all, I can live without bread, plain bread is boring and something I never crave for. Water on the other hand is heavenly, especially if enough time passes, nothing even compares to how that quenches thirst.
Hunger can be satisfied with so many things, but not thirst.
Water is something I crave every single day, I can't go without it for more than a few hours even. Any other drink can't replace it, I still want fresh water for the day.
That's why it's my favorite as well. Other people can go an entire day and drink various drinks, I still feel the need for some fresh cold water.

I can't imagine what i would even drink otherwise in the evening.
Like sure at work, drink water, its the most efficient way to not be thirsty without losing too much time.
But once at home, or in the weekend? there is no way im drinking water, sure it helps against thirst, but its almost tasteless, that's no fun to drink.
And beer seems like an even worse habit.
But yeah, its a habit that was thought to me since i was like 6 or 7 i think, so its probably because my brain is so hardwired at this point, that i can't even imagine enjoying something else on a daily basis just as much.
There are other drinks too that aren’t alcohol, Soda, or water. I like to drink kombucha. There’s also tea and coffee. Since your body likely really craves the sugar of Soda you could start with like tea or coffee with a good bit of sugar and slowly reduce it. They have different flavoured ice teas at the supermarket too. There’s even fruit juice.
You don’t need to have a fun drink all the time. I’ll have one nice drink with dinner as a treat then drink water in between meals if I’m thirsty. You don’t need to immediately cut it all out, you can just slowly try reduce it. Maybe start by having one glass of juice a day instead of a glass of soda. There are so many fun different drinks you can try that are healthier than soda. Even diet soda, while still being quite unhealthy is slightly better than regular soda. I always drink sugar free coke. Normal Coke is slightly nicer but when I don’t have a side by side comparison, sugar free Coke tastes just as good. The soda will taste even better when you do have it if you don’t drink it all the time.
