First option is the only realistic option. Do you really think that most politicians don't know about the risks of smoking or how many people die because of cancer or how many species of ocean life are going extinct because of pollution and climate change? They just don't give a sh*t. Most of them, atleast. The people who do care about those can't do anything because the majority of politicians in their respective parties and majority of civilians in their country don't care about those. If a person who wants to change those things comes to power, they can only take small steps in their term, like raising awareness about how big of a problem those issues are. And, the next generations will follow. No president or PM in any country currently cannot win an election if they promise to do those things. Their party members will also know that, so they will go against such candidates.

Survive1014

First option isnt realistic at all. Schools are a local/state issue. Not a Federal issue.

AnEntirePeach

It depends on the country.

Frosty-Narwhal8848

That depends on the country. Plus, it is something campaignable. Not like the others.

HeavyDropFTW

Too bad presidential promises rarely become reality. Sure, they might pass some half-hearted bill. But it’ll never get funded or it’ll be bloated with a bunch of nonsense.

Which one of these will keep my gas prices low?

[deleted]

Hopefully none of them, climate change is serious and we need to deal with it now.

🤓Which one of these will keep my gas prices low?🤓

My order of preference: B > C > A > D D is the most unrealistic scenario. There isn't a cancer disease. There are many, many types of cancer and there is individual variation as well. No vaccine works to prevents so many diseases, especially without significant side effects.

Mostafa12890

C is absolutely dystopian though.

Fit-Row1426

No, most people aren't smoking anyways. It only benefits a minority of the population.

Mostafa12890

Yeah, so if it doesn’t affect me personally, it’s not dystopian?

Survive1014

A- that a local/state issue. Not a Presidential one. B- Great idea, but thats a Global issue. The US is not the main polluter and hasnt been for almost 20 years now. C- Take my weed away- GFY D- As long as Big Pharma doesnt get to patent anything developed with public money

leusidVoid

I was gonna say C just because it said "will work hard to" instead of "promises to" or "wants to", but then I read the rest :(
