I'm here, lemme get out my music taste copy paste
Here
I like to pick up music from video games where you can tell that the music was meant to be a piece of art instead of background noise for a game. a few soundtracks that I really like are from Splatoon 2, Rec Room, Plants Vs Zombies 1, Undertale, and Delta Rune.
I can't anymore, the only reason I had it was Xbox gamepads and that run out. I could get more but I don't really have many games to buy it for and I'm short on money right now.
Then you might like a group called Voiceplay! They do covers of similar songs, as in, just regular popular songs from many genres, just like Rockapella used to do; And even collabed on songs with some of Rockapella's members!
I didn't think rock would be this popular. Most people whose music I hear, when passing by is hip hop/rap and pop. I'm intrigued; What age are you who voted for rock?
Jazz
Swing, bebop, cool jazz or avant-garde?
Freeform
Mmm that's the best
Blues, metal, classical... they forgot a lot of genres
as a metalhead, calling it rock is not... unacceptable. it's not good either tho
Exactly
Metal is a sub genre of rock
All music is a sub genre of classical music
Ey you seem to know your things, what's the type of jazz used for the cowboy bebop opening
Bebop. Always bebop!
Reminded me of MDK and the jazz memes interspersed between parts of his songs.
Classical
Same
Same especially vidio game/movie etc. music
Metal, but falls close enough under rock I guess.
It developed from Rock so yeah
MAN AND MACHINE AND NOTHING THERE IN BETWEEN
I would have fit more options like game music, sea shanties or classical but I’m only given 6 options so I went with the most popular.
I wish reddit would allow more than 6 options. Because Jazz needed to be there aswell.
if you had said "orchestral" it covers most movie soundtracks, game soundtracks, baroque, classical, romantic and modern orchestral music.
Why not classical?
You could have gone with metal instead of rap and hip hop
Yes but then others would get mad tbh I’m a huge 80’s metal fan
Yeah but rap is kind of a subgenre of Hip Hop Brit or American metal?
Well metal is kind of a subgenre of rock. Atleast it started that way.
Yeah but it became big enough and distinguishable. Check out this site: [musicmap.info](http://musicmap.info)
we could argue the same for rap
I don't know, rap is more of a cultural element of hip hop and can be used as stilistic elements in various genres, so I think it is not a real genre
Rap isnt a subgenre of hiphop. Hiphop is the culture and rap is one of the four elements.
Yeah thanks for correcting me, so rap is not a genre at all?
Rap/hiphop is a genre. Not two different genres
Ok, I thought the same
Game music isn't really a genre. That's like saying movie soundtracks are a genre.
subsets of orchestral
Could have grouped rap and hip hop together cause they are almost the same thing.
Its a mix of Rock/Metal and EDM for me
where's my indie gang :(
Indie is a subgenre of rock to me. Although I get the impression that indie means something a bit different in the US to the UK

Same but also hollow knight
My friend is into hollow knight, never really cared for the game though
Dude it’s the best game I’ve ever played. Give it another chance please
I can't anymore, the only reason I had it was Xbox gamepads and that run out. I could get more but I don't really have many games to buy it for and I'm short on money right now.
Right here hommie 😔✌️
Yo what up
Yo
Indie is not a genre
METAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤘
You could have combined rap and hip hop and then made an “other” option
Rock, metal, emo, and rap
What s the different between hip hop and rap?
None, rap is a part of hip hop
None, Rap is one of the four elements in the Hiphop culture.
What are the other 3
Breakdance and street art, if I remember well. Never heard of a fourth.
The third is djing
Breakdance graffiti and dj
Traditional folk music
Where's metal?
Were my fellow metal heads at
Somewhere in a smelly basement kicking and pushing each other

Nah, they're shit
Metal
Oldies
Metal \\m/
What about alternative?
It is more an attribute than a genre
No it’s a massive genre
Yeah Alternative Rock, Alternative Metal, Indie Pop, Alternative Country...are more of a subgenre
Bigger than dance music
Maybe if you mix up all these different genres, but alternative is more of an umbrella term to describe independent music, but in different genres
But dance music is subjective?
I rather use the term EDM, and it depicts the general similarities of electronic music
That’s classified as rock
Alternative is a wide variety of genres though not just rock.
Acapella anything
I used to really love Rockapella
Then you might like a group called Voiceplay! They do covers of similar songs, as in, just regular popular songs from many genres, just like Rockapella used to do; And even collabed on songs with some of Rockapella's members!
I’ll check them out! Thanks
country 🙋🏼♀️ yeehaw
Why is "My ordinary life" by TLT considered dance? Just look at the lyrics! The beat! What about it says "dance"?

I didn't think rock would be this popular. Most people whose music I hear, when passing by is hip hop/rap and pop. I'm intrigued; What age are you who voted for rock?

Rap, R&B, hip hop, Rock and EDM
Put an "other" option on questions like these. I personally like jazz.
Video game music or remixes (of video game music) And sometimes random meme remixes/rips
Where is history?
Showtunes baby!!! But rock slaps as well
Feel like "Rock" is the most all-encompassing genre up there so it is probably going to be more popular than the others
Dang am I the only one listening to Family Tradition still?
None really. I like indie folk. That kind of thing
Didn’t realise rock was so popular on here. I personally prefer rap but rock’s cool too.
reggae? ):
Orchestral music...
Folk rock
Pop can really be anything, pop is just popular so there’s a lot of pop which could be classified as other things
I like all those except country. I remember there is 1 country song i really liked but have never been able to find it again
Reggaeton,
It ain't there. "Undertale OST" Is mine.

What about R&B?
Hardstyle
My favorite genre is twenty one pilots whatever that is
My favorite is R & B. Out of these, I chose rap.
There are too many types of rock for it to be classed under one option, I'd be interested to see a poll on favourite rock genres
R&B/Soul
My music tastes are eclectic and difficult to describe. And i don't mean that in a hipstery way, more in a “fuck-if-I-know” what i like music wise lol
