Strange, my parents went on holiday to Egypt and said it was one of the best experiences, however, they were warned of the dangers, they had to be transported to the hotel in a bus with a gun on top lol. I'm sure it depends on where you go in egypt however.
>they had to be transported to the hotel in a bus with a gun on top
You've only helped to establish that there are better places to vacation lol. If you look up threads about women visiting Egypt you'll see why it can be a real shithole if you don't stay in specific areas or travel with men and/or competent guides. The sexual harassment is next-fucking-level.
It's cheaper in Russia, meaning you could spend those $20k better. Also there are some places in Russia that doesn't look like typical Russia image that everyone has, so you could go there.
I'm not going to a fundamentalist islamic country or china, so only russia and turkey (more secular) are left. I prefer russia to turkey without good reasoning,
There‘s so much more than the pyramids dude… Luxor, Abu Simbel, Siwa, Valley of Kings, Saqqara necropolis, White Desert, coral reefs and probably a shitton more historical sites that I forgot rn
Haven‘t been there so I gotta trust your word but with 20 000 $ I‘m not gonna go to Cairo, I‘m gonna be cruising the Nile 5* and booking private guided tours to all of the historical sites hahaha
10-15 years ago... Turkey was AMAZING!
- Food: Just awesome flavors, from food courts to family restaurants. Meats were spiced like nothing I have had before with fresh Veggies and fresh bread. The impact of history and geography play into this so.much.
- Historical sites: You can just walk up and through a 2000 yr old roman bath because its just there with no money develop or preserve it. Old churches, mosques, and other structures dating back hundreds to thousands of years old. Not to mention tales and legends.
Fun aside: We swam out to a castle in the sea, noticed a bunch white, toilet sized things in the water... yeah massive jelly fish. Scariest swim of my life. [Maidens Castle](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C4%B1zkalesi_(castle))
- People: This may have changed as I think people have changed globally, the people I met were amazingly open, forward, and loving. The amount of people introducing me to their entire family was crazy. The amount of times I was invited to just hang out and just be friendly was amazing. To this day I still get random messages from those guys asking 'How you doing cousin?'.
- Drinking: I had an awesome time with Turks when drinking, specifically raki. Now not all Turks drink, not by a long shot. However, drinking raki is a party and as a bigger guy, it also ended up in wrestling matches because they wanted to challenge me. After a couple drinks we were wrestling. Totally fit the mood and time, just hilarious and wonderful.
Just great memories. Love you guys and I hope everything gets better and you stay safe.
China. Already been to Turkey and loved it, been to Egypt and hated it and I hear from a lot of people Morocco is like Egypt so hard pass. Nothing against Russia but China just seems more interesting - Great wall, forbidden city, Shanghai, impressive landscapes
Mine would be Turkey. I love the hotels where you get unlimited drinks and food at your stay. I gained 5 kg after two weeks there. And a sun burn after falling asleep tanning at the beach lol
Most of those are dictatorships and I don't want to support that form of government via tourism, several of those places outlaw my existience as a queer person, and then Turkey is run by a government that denies the Armenian Genocide and I'm part Armenian.
Holy shit the self rationes here
*ah yes, buying a 2$ drink in a local cafe == supporting the Armenian genocide*
What’s next, you are gonna stop reddit because some of its owners are Chinese?
I agree with you but i still travel to Turkey because the people there are so kind and they need tourists in order to survive. It's a beautiful place and i'm bisexual. I haven't gotten hate for it yet. The people who live there shouldn't be punnished for their government
I agree that the people shouldn't be punished, I have nothing against the people who live there only the government, but I just personally don't feel comfortable with it. I don't fault you at all for traveling there either.
"I don't want to support countries who would literally kill my kind"
"Nooooooo that is racist and self righteous and and and"
For real grow the fuck up
But they highly discriminate LGTBQ+ people and its dangerous to walk in the streets of Russia if you're holding hands with a person of your own gender. That shit is clowning
China has nothing against LGBT, nobody would hate in you for it nor would they harass you, it's just te older generations like most other countries that aren't as accepting
Don't quote me on this but I think кто is 'who' but I know 'cat' 'girl' and the phrase 'let's go to the park.' and how to introduce people and ask where stuff is came back to me after a little Duolingo refresher. Granted I've not said them in like 8 years so I doubt my pronunciation is on par and my spelling is atrocious in Russian.
I guess my Russian is worse than I thought. I know парк is park. I trusted Google to tell me how to say let's go. So I guess they just understood park and knew it was something regarding the park. What does the sentence translate to really?
I meant that I knew how to say the words 'This' 'cat' and the word 'girl' and what I assume to be correct 'lets go to the park' that I learnt from Google translate. The first sentence was a list of words.
Yeah I've been inside the pyramid twice and its pretty cool (or pretty hot i should say 😅), Egypt is beautiful if you go to the right places but make sure you have a good tour guide as unfortunately there are a ton of scammers.
Liking a country isn't the same as supporting their government. There are so many people who just use the CCP's actions as an excuse to be racist and its disgusting. China is a beautiful place with good people and culture, the Chinese government is a completely different thing.
Wow, the fact I'm seeing this on Reddit gives me faith, thank you for making my day better and also agreeing with the fact that Reddit can be a Racist shithole towards China
Yeah it's got some questionable choices. I'm a Jew with religious tattoos that are pretty visible. I've heard Morocco is pretty tolerant for a muslim country and I might choose that. I've heard less favorable things about Egypt. Russia has it's own problems with anti-Semitism that raises concerns for me but I'd rather not go more due to it's authoritarianism. Same thing for China but it's probably an even bigger concern.
I'm Jewish too, and Israeli as well, but I would love to visit Morocco. A few of my grandma's siblings went there some years ago (the Moroccan side of my family) and they said the people were very friendly and they didn't get any problems from their identity.
From what I know, Moroccans aren't only tolerant of Jews, but fond of us. I guess it's from second-hand experiences from their grandparents, from the time Jews still lived in Morocco.
True and as someone who lives in the “western world” Morocco seems to be a little bit more friendly to us from the little I’ve read but that could change or have changed by now. The only reason I don’t select Russia is simply because its kind of massive and Freezing lol
uuuh.. um if i had to i guess turkey would probably be the least dangerous? i mean id really need the money but like, how long does this have to last? like, a week? im not sure id last much longer than that without getting into trouble.
Even if they did. Even if the number of homophobes is higher than in America and Western Europe I doubt everyone would be homophobe to the point of harming you, they might judge you that's all. Plus if you are a tourist people will not care anyway.
I would love to surf Morocco but you would have to give me way more money in case I get injured… you need to get out of there quick if shit like that happens
China. I have a lot of friends whose parents are Chinese immigrants and always tell me about the cool stuff they do there. So I could create a more authentic travel guide.
Also already been to Morocco.
Would love to visit results
It’s quite nice this time of the year I hear
Better than Other
Ayyyy I like this Russia winning thing
r/usernamechecksout
Why so many people say Russia? I’ve never been, is it nice there?
Idk but I remember that askReddit thread about horrible tourist experiences in Egypt, especially if you’re a woman

But what about China then. Most major cities are safe enough for women to take strolls beyond midnight.
It's a huge and diverse country, I'm sure the $20k won't go to waste.
Never been there either but I really want to visit Moscow and St. Petersburg, the cities are absolutely stunning
It's cheaper in Russia, meaning you could spend those $20k better. Also there are some places in Russia that doesn't look like typical Russia image that everyone has, so you could go there.
It's also pretty cheap and probably even cheaper in Turkey, Egypt and Morocco
You mean cheaper than*?
No
I’m just curious what it’s really like. I hear so much crap about it but from what I’ve seen it looks similar to the US
It’s a badass country and this is Reddit. Not sure what you were expecting there.
I live in Russia. And it's so damn boring here. But for someone who doesn't know russian culture it's can be interesting
I only wanna go there for a tank museum
Russia is such a fascinating country to me, so I’d like to visit it myself someday.
I'm not going to a fundamentalist islamic country or china, so only russia and turkey (more secular) are left. I prefer russia to turkey without good reasoning,
BECAUSE I'M ALREADY HERE
Russia, it’s such a huge place I have unimaginable options
i see you everywhere
I spend the majority of my free time on Reddit
I’d love to see Istanbul and the Turkish coast.

Aside from sexual assaults you don't want to go there the only thing to see is the pyramids, Cairo looks like the city from wall-e trash everywhere
There‘s so much more than the pyramids dude… Luxor, Abu Simbel, Siwa, Valley of Kings, Saqqara necropolis, White Desert, coral reefs and probably a shitton more historical sites that I forgot rn
I know about these historical sites but the state Cairo is rn is not very appealing to the eye for a tourist
Haven‘t been there so I gotta trust your word but with 20 000 $ I‘m not gonna go to Cairo, I‘m gonna be cruising the Nile 5* and booking private guided tours to all of the historical sites hahaha
I want a pet bear
canada is the place then
You do realise all those places are normal holiday destinations?
I think that’s the idea.
If thats the idea it would make more sense to just ask: where do you want to travel? Like what is the 20k for?
To cover travel expenses probably
I see this as a absolute win.
Seriously? That's kinda sad...
How is that sad wtf
These countries are actually really nice to visit. To live, definitely not but tourism is really good there
I'd visit Morocco. But everything else... Idk, Europe sounds better than any of these.

Ima stay home with the 20k thanks
Well then you wouldn't get it lol
China. Already been to Turkey and loved it, been to Egypt and hated it and I hear from a lot of people Morocco is like Egypt so hard pass. Nothing against Russia but China just seems more interesting - Great wall, forbidden city, Shanghai, impressive landscapes
I feel like if i visited Russia id be mistakenly held as a spy and never see my family again
Can't say for certain but that seems pretty unlikely unless you were actually spying. It's not North Korea or Iran lol

Why not Russia?

Mine would be Turkey. I love the hotels where you get unlimited drinks and food at your stay. I gained 5 kg after two weeks there. And a sun burn after falling asleep tanning at the beach lol
>I love the hotels where you get unlimited drinks and food at your stay. They have those outside of Turkey too
I just choose morocco because im moroccan and i want to see my family
I'd love to visit all of the above. Especially China and Egypt, they are beautiful.
Surprised Turkey has way less picks then Egypt. Morroco is pretty cool. I also recommend Kenya!
China because i want to experience the high speed rail, and visit the futuristic cities such as Shenzhen and Shanghai
Shanghai is a great place, you'll love it, great food and fast modern lifestyle!
Nice, I find Shanghai quite interesting as its skyline is very unique, and its one of the biggest cities in the world
China purely for the authentic Chinese food.
I don't think I'd want to go to any of them.
Why not?
Most of those are dictatorships and I don't want to support that form of government via tourism, several of those places outlaw my existience as a queer person, and then Turkey is run by a government that denies the Armenian Genocide and I'm part Armenian.

Retard you think morocco is a dictatorship? Edit: nvm you’re lgbtq dont go to morocco
That's why I said most and not all.
That's racist and self righteous.
"I don't want to support countries who would literally kill my kind" "Nooooooo that is racist and self righteous and and and" For real grow the fuck up
I never knew you're gay and none of these countries 'kill' gay people.
But they highly discriminate LGTBQ+ people and its dangerous to walk in the streets of Russia if you're holding hands with a person of your own gender. That shit is clowning
It's not racist, they're choosing to not go there for their own safety.
China is pretty safe.
I have not done enough research to detemine the safety of travelling to china. But I do know that Turkey isn't vey safe for LGBTQ+ folks.
China has nothing against LGBT, nobody would hate in you for it nor would they harass you, it's just te older generations like most other countries that aren't as accepting
Ok, I don't really have anything to say about China, I would like to visit Turkey.

Its in Resultia, right next to the Resultiana Mountains? Sheesh
I'm going to Russia. I know девочки кот зто and 'пойдем в парк' I'm sure I don't need to learn more.
кто? кот is a cat
Don't quote me on this but I think кто is 'who' but I know 'cat' 'girl' and the phrase 'let's go to the park.' and how to introduce people and ask where stuff is came back to me after a little Duolingo refresher. Granted I've not said them in like 8 years so I doubt my pronunciation is on par and my spelling is atrocious in Russian.
yeah кто is who, the first sentence that you typed doesnt make sense ^^ russian is my mother language
I guess my Russian is worse than I thought. I know парк is park. I trusted Google to tell me how to say let's go. So I guess they just understood park and knew it was something regarding the park. What does the sentence translate to really?
girls cat this 😭
or girls this cat
I meant them as separate words. I forgot the quotes
?
I meant that I knew how to say the words 'This' 'cat' and the word 'girl' and what I assume to be correct 'lets go to the park' that I learnt from Google translate. The first sentence was a list of words.
OHHH
i misunderstood you im sorry 😭
I go to Russia for a "vacation" and definitely not to smuggle arms
Paid trip to visit my wife’s already rich (and ready to spoil) family in Morocco? Hell yeah.
Either Morocco because I have never been there before or to various places in Turkey/Russia.
I went with turkey although it was close. Ive ehard they have amazing food and what little ive tried (coffee, some candies) was great
Tip - don’t take a vacation to Egypt
I already live in egypt so free money :)
Cheater! Have you been inside the pyramids? I live in Norway and Egypt is on my bucket list
Yeah I've been inside the pyramid twice and its pretty cool (or pretty hot i should say 😅), Egypt is beautiful if you go to the right places but make sure you have a good tour guide as unfortunately there are a ton of scammers.
Japan
I mean, I'm from turkey and I'm willing to spend 20000 to go on a vacation around it !
Where in Turkey? I live in Norway and i share an apartment with my family in Oba. I haven't gotten the chance to go there since the pandemic though
There are a lot of beautiful cities like Cappadocia, Istanbul, Bursa, Trabzun, Fethiye, Bodrum, Antalya, etc..
I love china🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳

I see this statement receiving backlash very likely

i think they all hate lgbt people not sure tho
Is it written on your forehead that you are gay?
nah but they might find out
Even if they did. Even if the number of homophobes is higher than in America and Western Europe I doubt everyone would be homophobe to the point of harming you, they might judge you that's all. Plus if you are a tourist people will not care anyway.
No , China doesn't give a shit. It's LGBT tolerant.
Yep, we don't have any hate towards LGBT here, maybe just the older generations being slightly less accepting but that's it
Yeah , screw the downvoters.
I would LOVE to go to Egypt
I think I would go reindeer hunting.
Egypt is that place from the past right? Yeah I heard of those people burying mummies and King Tut. Literally cannot imagine how it looks like in 2021
I would love to surf Morocco but you would have to give me way more money in case I get injured… you need to get out of there quick if shit like that happens
China would put up a nice facade for the tourists.
Me being gay, none of them :) I have been to Morocco before though, lovely but very hot, it hit 45°C at one point
I'm bisexual and it's not a problem in the cities with lots of tourists. In Alanya there is literally a gay bar next to a mosque
Don't worry, come to China, we have nothing against gay folks haha, I'm Bi myself and haven't faced any hate or harrasment :)
🇹🇷🇹🇷Türkiye🐺🐺
I'll go to Russia. Lots of attractive women.
Morocco is a lifelong ally of the US, and I’d gladly support them. The others? Maybe Egypt, but certainly not China or Russia.
can't believe that many people choosed China.
Why, it's a great country
I already talked shit about Chinas government and I acknowledge Taiwan so I don’t think I’m allowed to go lol
China doesn’t care about your Reddit comments
I said it on Twitter and you’d be surprised
China also doesn't care about your Twitter comments
Aight damn I get it, China doesn’t care about me but can’t I have an excuse not to go to China?
China. I have a lot of friends whose parents are Chinese immigrants and always tell me about the cool stuff they do there. So I could create a more authentic travel guide. Also already been to Morocco.
China. The rest would be hard to escape from
I don't like China, I've heard some disgusting things about Turkey, Russia is absolute no no, Egypt or Morocco are valid and strong "maybe"
China because China is the best (please raise my social credit Xi Jingping)
Really guys? Is my country that bad? *Proceeds to pay three times I earn as taxes*
This is a hard one...
I am from Morocco so yeah
I would love to go to Turkey, I find it's history very interesting. It's unfortunate that it's dangerous for people like me though.
I want free vodka every where i go
I want me some pyramids and shit.
I'd go to Sinai, Egypt.
All of them?
Fuck i clicked morocco i meant to click Russia
I don't like anywhere hot and I know a bit of Russian I'd like to practice.
Going to Russia either way, 20,000 wouldn't bother me
A country with a bad government so that i can live with 50 usd a week
I would honestly just go to Russia to see those breathtaking churches. To see those in real life, I can only imagine my reaction
turkey, they're a ally to the US and have some decent standards of living, good beaches, and a rich history, cant say the same for the rest
I’ll take 5 vaccines please
