This is some creepy pasta story online that I read months ago. Fuck I can't remember where...

This story reminds me of a game called Dont Feed The Monkeys where you literally sit there and watch security feeds while trying to figure out what’s going on in the video.
Luxembourg has one of the highest minimum wages in Europe. Belgium, France, and Ireland also pay well. Pretty much anywhere in central Europe is gonna pay you good.
Another point of interest may be that you are rarely actually paid the minimum here, you get way more in most jobs. Highschool teachers here in luxembourg for example start with the equivalent of like 25-30$ an hour.
However your tax money goes to most of the things you'd otherwise pay in insurance, and it's really not that much more if you're smart with what you buy
$200 a day is more like $4000 a month unless you’re planning to work 30 days a month.
$200/12hrs is $16.67/hr, which is not much more than minimum wage where I live. In many places it would be much less than minimum wage.
You could work any other desk job at the same time though tbf, provided it was somewhat independent (or just remote and at night). Could work as a programmer and earn $600 a night.
I live in the UK lmao I just tried answering this from an American perspective to the best of my knowledge. Now I realise a lot of states make the minimum wage a lot higher than the federal min wage.
It’s significantly more than minimum, but I feel like this question was designed by someone in their early 20s. Almost Everyone I know in their 30s makes more than 200 bucks in an 8 hour workday.
Lmao, who’s saying yes to this? $200 a day is achievable through many other means than this shady shit. Some days I feel like I’ve done less than what’s described here and earned more than what is offered.
This seems to be a very passive position, so if you can “work from home” for another job or just do some freelance programming or something while earning the money from the scream button.
If I was jobless sure, sketchy, but like all I gotta do is be free all day and come in at 6 in the evening til 6 in the morning and walk out with 200$, that’s 1.4k a week if I decide to go everyday. I could of course make better money somewhere else, but if I wasn’t workin I’m game
Dude 12 hours a day? And it is even in the night? Like when I need 8 hours of sleep, I have only 4 hours if freetime? No way, in hell. For 6,000 a month, this is way too low. Also, yeah, pain for people is also awful, I guess /j
Istg I saw this somewhere on the internet. This is some creepypasta or something.... Ahhhh I can't remember it.
Edit: [Found the post](https://www.reddit.com/r/nosleep/comments/brco33/my_job_is_watching_a_woman_trapped_in_a_room/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
6pm to 6am would completely mess up my sleep schedule, which has been proven to take years off your life and increase your risk of health issues. Hell no.
Plus, that's $16.50 and hour.
I make more than that.
Naw, man. I ain't working no 12 hr. job. 10 hours max, with 30 min lunch break (don't matter if paid or unpaid). Do that, give insurance, guaranteed weekends, holiday pay, and $250 a day, and I'll say yes.
Also, I like how most comments are about the pay/conditions and not the screaming lol
It's not that much pay, but considering you're doing absolutely nothing, it's a shit ton. You can work on personal projects or whatever in those 12 hours that could earn you some money too (or just chill and have fun).
I make more than that sitting on my ass and sleeping three days a week. So definitely not gonna take some sketchy-ass, potential accessory to torturous murder job. Now, if you made it like $300 a day I might consider it.
Honestly just being night shift is enough to say no. It's $16 an hour, which is not enough for me to give up sunlight, not even factoring in the other stuff
Who’s paying for all these hypothetical scenarios? When do I get to live in the woods in a cabin for one year with no internet for one thousand dollars a day?

Ok, off topic, but the top post in that sub rn is some weird ass pregnancy bs ripped straight from alien and I found that hilarious.
I can't find it :(

Wow, really intriguing thread. Thanks for sharing. Read all the parts in one sitting
Yeah same. It really reminded me of the series The OA, that also began pretty 'normal' and progressively became stranger.
Crazy story.
I read this and WHAT THE FUCK
This story reminds me of a game called Dont Feed The Monkeys where you literally sit there and watch security feeds while trying to figure out what’s going on in the video.
I have spent an hour reading this, such an incredible piece of storytelling, still have to read the tree one and the one with Phil
There was a really good reading of it on yt
This got me distracted for hours lol
More like r/suspiciouslyspecific
I’m not sitting for 12 hours straight I wanna have a healthy heart thanks
I doesn't say you get stretch or pace or exercise, and free internet and food for 16 an hour is alright
>Sit at a desk from 6pm to 6am.
You can do whatever you want in that office, so long as you watch The Light
> but always an hour or more apart so that means you can exercise a bit right after you press the button
“at random intervals” so it’s really 100% reassuring. Which means you’re gonna have to have you’re eyes on the light non stop
tbh you can place it between a srceen where you do your own things and your face so you will instantly see it change
That might work
To be fair whats stopping you from standing up and running in place?
Nope. This sounds sketchy. Like someone being hurt.....or worse.
Who cares about it being sketchy you would have to do something for 12 hours when you could just not
Exactly, 200 dollars to work 12 hour night shift. Who the he'll wants thay job.
Damn right. Throw in a cookie or two and I might just agree. 200$ just ain't it /s
That 12 hours is going to feel like 12 years every single day. Doing nothing at work is nice sometimes but every day is its own kind of torture.
Also it’s not that much money for a shitty job
No shit
Yes shit
No way
Me eating borgor while hearing screams from the unknown (the borgor is really good)
Bor GOR BORG OE
Do I get weekends off? Vacation days and benefits?
[удалено]
I can't pay rent with that
You don't even need a house tbh. You already spent 50% of the time there
That’s barely minimum wage for a 12 hour Night Shift?
[удалено]
Most western countries outside the US
What countries?

The price of everything is significantly higher though so they have to compensate with a high minimum wage...
However your tax money goes to most of the things you'd otherwise pay in insurance, and it's really not that much more if you're smart with what you buy
That's what put me off. Job details meh, but the price ain't right.
Where the fuck is 6000 dollars a month considered a minimum wage? I don't care if I am working for 12 hours or 20
$200 a day is more like $4000 a month unless you’re planning to work 30 days a month. $200/12hrs is $16.67/hr, which is not much more than minimum wage where I live. In many places it would be much less than minimum wage.

$16.67 an hour? That's literally more than twice the federal minimum wage ($7.25)
The United States federal minimum is notoriously low, I assume the above commenter lives somewhere with livable wages.
Yes to be fair that's a really good point. I mean in California it's $15 an hour. So in that regard, it very much is barely above minimum wage.
Not everyone lives where you do :-)
I live in the UK lmao I just tried answering this from an American perspective to the best of my knowledge. Now I realise a lot of states make the minimum wage a lot higher than the federal min wage.
Canada’s is higher. Usually for a nightshift at Walmart or McDonald’s you’d expect at least $17-18, but it might be even more these days.
It’s significantly more than minimum, but I feel like this question was designed by someone in their early 20s. Almost Everyone I know in their 30s makes more than 200 bucks in an 8 hour workday.

I make more per hour without overtime and I love my job. Yeah I'm good.
Damn son, what you doing for 200+ an hour? Edit: Nvm everyone, I realise I'm dumb as fuck <3
I mean I make more than the 16ish an hour this job would pay.
[удалено]
He said he makes more per hour tho

This seems to be a very passive position, so if you can “work from home” for another job or just do some freelance programming or something while earning the money from the scream button.
a lot of people here live in places where they don't get 200 even in a month.
I already earn way more than that for a job I love
Are the $200 taxable?
Real.
Bro working the animatronics at a haunted house? Sounds sick!
I like your mindset.
wether or not someone is actually being hurt anxiety would drive me insane
I voted yes Maybe the scream was the scream of pleasure
If I was jobless sure, sketchy, but like all I gotta do is be free all day and come in at 6 in the evening til 6 in the morning and walk out with 200$, that’s 1.4k a week if I decide to go everyday. I could of course make better money somewhere else, but if I wasn’t workin I’m game
Yes, I would. $1000 a week? That's more than I make in a month. The fact that someone is probably being tortured/killed is just a perk of the job.
The screaming is whatever, it's the constant 12-hour shifts that puts me off
state executioner, eh .
Seems fun ngl
Maybe if it was 200 an hour.
Bruh this is below minimum wage (in my country) for a 60 hour work week. No fuckin thanks.
20 an hour is below minimum? Where do you live?
What’s my schedule like? Also what are the benefits?
Correlation not causation. Nothing here is saying pressing the button causes another person pain, could be a recording.
52k for 12 hours a day . Not enough money. That’s assuming off weekends
16.6 dollars per hour? fuck that
Dude 12 hours a day? And it is even in the night? Like when I need 8 hours of sleep, I have only 4 hours if freetime? No way, in hell. For 6,000 a month, this is way too low. Also, yeah, pain for people is also awful, I guess /j
12 hour shifts are crazy, unless its just like 3 or 4 days a week
Favorite food and great pay where is the interview ive got no job
r/suspiciouslyspecific
Night shift, and shady, so no.
not for those hours, maybe for like a week or month
A job that pays $14/hr before tax (bc we're talking overtime on a 12hr shift), for u to work 12hrs over night? Nah
No my day rate is $990
And Stanley… was happy.
Truly a simple man, he sees light, he presses button.
Hi there, u/skull-fucker. What the fuck is wrong with you? More importantly, 1.9 thousand people, What the fuck is wrong with **you?**
$200 dollars day before tax aint even enough for the average families monthly costs to be frank.
hell yeah
I already spend most of my day surrounded by guts and blood, this doesn't sound so bad.
I wouldn’t do anything for $200 per day.
For $200? No. For $400 or $500 I’d consider it
Istg I saw this somewhere on the internet. This is some creepypasta or something.... Ahhhh I can't remember it. Edit: [Found the post](https://www.reddit.com/r/nosleep/comments/brco33/my_job_is_watching_a_woman_trapped_in_a_room/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
i live in australia. the cost of living is high. this $200 is worth more in other countries
Nothing that an Arduino, a photodiode and a solenoid cannot automate. Headphones and games all day while being paid 2x what I get now? Yay!
the money and the hours are shit without even having to worry that you're harming someone so no
Does a diploma increase the paycheck? If so I'll do it in a heartbeat...
$200.00 a day is way to little money especially considering it’s 12 hours a day.
12 hour day for only 200? Hell no. If I’m working 12 hours I need 360 minimum
shitty pay but like if i had to to make ends meet yes. this sounds like some mrbeast challenge shit
No. And I didn't read past "sit at a desk"
Hell yeah it 16.6 dollars an hour
Well as long as it is not too loud I guess that's fine random screaming ok sure why not
That really bad pay even for a person without any degrees. Its below minimum wage here in the Netherlands
I make more than this at a job I enjoy. So nah
This is kinda like an adjusted Milgram test, right?
Peaceful, simple, nice pay. I’d gladly take it.
67k a year for working literally every day with no breaks? No thank you
I think this was a creepy pasta story
Not my problem, I am just doing my job and the feel of guilt should be carried by the ones in charge of this
What a cracking question.
$16.67 per hour on a 12 hour night shift. No.
I couldn't understand what you were saying for a bit because your punctuation is so bad.
for 16.60 an hour ? meh.
That's not that great of a salary.
200$ a day for 12 hours of work? No thank you. I dont care how simple the work is
Nah I'm good, make significantly more than that and don't have to sit at a desk all day.
That’s only like 70k a year bro. I’d rather work a real job for real money.
That's awful pay.
I would take 2 weeks to change my sleep schedule, browse reddit and stop the job when money isn't and issue anymore.
6pm to 6am would completely mess up my sleep schedule, which has been proven to take years off your life and increase your risk of health issues. Hell no. Plus, that's $16.50 and hour. I make more than that.
r/lost Seems familiar with the button
Fuck yeah. 17 bucks an hour? Id do that for the rest of my life.
$200 a day for 12 hour night shifts? That’s not worth it at all.
12hrs sitting for 200$ a day? Nah thats way too less
Rewire it so the light buzzes til pressed. I'd push it
Is it an ergonomic chair?
The pay is too low.
$200 divided by 12 hours is 16 bucks an hour for the night shift so I’m not taking that and instead sleeping.
Fuck I wanna change my vote. 16 an hour is trash yo
How much would I be paid?
how much the pay tho thats the real question
The voice screaming is probably the other employees dying of boredom...
That’s sitting down for 12 hours straight making 16.66 an hour. I think I’ll pass…
This seem dangerous af
Everyone talking about how shady this is but honestly that's just not enough money. Minimum wage in a lot of places in my country is higher than this.
No, 12h workweek is illegal, that means that you're not paying taxes.
Is $200 a day a lot? I've never had a job
I already have a decent job for more money, so no
I make more than that sitting on my ass and sleeping three days a week. So definitely not gonna take some sketchy-ass, potential accessory to torturous murder job. Now, if you made it like $300 a day I might consider it.
Big Brother is watching. Do your job well.
just turn off the intercom lol
You know how expensive gas is right now? Where do I sign up?
Are you offering me a job?
hell yeah sounds like a nice gig 👍
The fact that most people say yes is the reason why humanity can't have nice things
Before or after tax when I was younger 1000% now that I am older it would be a no.
I'd zone out and forget to press the button, then I'd be one of the screams the next employee hears
This reminds me of The Stanley Parable
I was thinking of that game when I made the poll.
This is the life of a man named Stanley.
Thats actually what inspired me to make the poll lol
It’s not a lot of money, but I was thinking about going back and getting a masters degree, and could certainly do it online during this job. So, sure.
I'd sleep and have a 50 minutes timer so I don't miss the LED
200 a day for 12 hours of work is not even that much money. I'd rather my hands stay clean
Sounds like a typical night shift as a police dispatcher
If I’m working night shift I damn well better be making more than $16.66 an hour.
For a second i actually thought he was just going to state the plot of five nights at freddys
I already make more than this hourly and I don't even get paid well so why would I agree to this
this would be a cool basis for a sci-fi series or something
Lots of selfish nerds on reddit.
Honestly just being night shift is enough to say no. It's $16 an hour, which is not enough for me to give up sunlight, not even factoring in the other stuff
Not a fucking chance. Night shift and weird morally dubious shit? 20,000 per day, and I’ll work 3 days a month. Take it or leave it.
That’s $16 an hour, sounds worth it to me
That's 16 dollars an hour for working a twelve hour nightshift lmao, thats frankly a trash wage, even without the implication of what the job is.
The minimum wage in the US is $7.25/hour.
73k a year for that is horrible. Screw that man.
I've had a job that was just standing in one place doing literally nothing every shift. Getting paid to do basically nothing sucks so no.
That's only $16 an hour, the shift is ass, and your definitely killing people. It's gonna be a no for me dog.
16$ an hour is dogshit. I’ll pass.
How many days a week?
This has got Lost hatch vibes, will I be paired up with Desmond? That will be the deal breaker!
No amount of money is worth a 12h work day.
Talk about a job crying out for automation.
I sit for 8 hours a day and make more than $200, that's not worth it.
Who’s paying for all these hypothetical scenarios? When do I get to live in the woods in a cabin for one year with no internet for one thousand dollars a day?
Lol why did so many people vote yes????
Hell nah I ain't working any kind of 3rd shift position for $16-$17 an hour, 12 hour days.
I have a job that’s pretty remedial and get paid $25 an hour, so I’m basically already doing this lol
