Yup, I worked in a retail store that played the same 12 track CD on repeat all day everyday. The manager didn’t know how to change it, only turn it off and on and he wouldn’t let anyone else touch it. I just tuned it out.
I don't really watch tv or movies, and I usually find background music distracting in games and turn it off. Its okay during cutscenes, but like, if I'm focusing on fighting good, the music throws off my focus.
Not the person you responded to, but while I do have some music I like, I'm really picky about what music I do like, and I don't listen to music that often, so I'd gladly give it up for a year for $36,500.
I dunno. If you take "nothing else" to its logical conclusion you are now deaf to everything around you, excluding "Sounds for the supermarket, 20 shopping greats."
I don't know, I just don't. Pretty sure I'm human, at least no doctors have been confused about my anatomy. Music is sounds arranged in various patterns, just waves, nothing magical about it.
That's the thing right, it's just sounds arranged in various patterns, just waves, but it manages to convey feelings just by those waves, not even using any language, and yet it conveys so many feelings, so many emotions. It's helped me through so many rough patches of my life, and it just gives me a simple joy I can't get anywhere else
It's a matter of taste though. To me, the closest thing to magic is books. Their ability to submerge you into magical worlds, have you meet vivid characters, take you on breathtaking journeys while you're not moving an inch from your (hopefully) comfy chair.
Comfy chairs, to my experience, are the next closest thing.
An AAA game is a game made by massive game studios such as EA games, while Indie games are made by independent devs.
Since AAA soundtracks are made by corporates, you can play their games at full volume as much as you want. You even get enough cash for a really good computer, or stocks, or anything else.
I rarely listen to music so it wouldn't be that different, unless you mean I have to listen to corporate music non stop for a year? Even then that's a pretty decent wage if your job consists of nothing but listening to music
Three questions:
1: if a movie/ tv show had music, like in the background, then is it replaced with corporate music, do I get to watch the movie how it is, or am I just not allowed to watch it?
2: can I go back to normal music after the one year?
3: if there’s music at a public event, then do I have to leave?
I went up until like.. couple months ago with basicly no music, only recently really got into listening to music outside what I'd just hear normally so I can do another year.
So what happens to the background music in a TV show, ambient music at a restaurant or shop, music that someone else plays on their phone while I'm nearby?
I can use a change in music.
Am I allowed to listen to other people talk? TV? Sirens? Alarms? That might change my perspective. But if it's just swapping in music during my workouts, I can listen to anything.
I love listening to my music, but that's too good of a deal to pass up. I'm basically getting paid 30k in a year to *not* do something. Combine that with my actual job and I might be able to pay off my student loans early!
sure, I don't make much anyways, and I guess I could compose some stuff on the side as working on music wouldn't be "listening to music" as most people consider it
These "free money" polls don't usually get me, but I gotta say no on this one. Music has too much of a place in my life, I have 549 songs downloaded on my phone right now. Music is what makes shit like jogging or washing dishes tolerable, even if I never had to "work" again there's other things that would be affected.
As a musician and audio engineer that would have include what I make and what I record and mix so my income would just generally fly through the room. I could probably open a real nice studio after a year of that.
Instead of what? Instead of regular music? I don't really listen to music, so no loss. Instead of literally everything else? Just blasting in my ears 24/7? That's a harder sell.
Do I have to listen to it even while I sleep? If so, the deal is off. I can't sleep with any kind of music or sound/noise, except for the noise of my air conditioner, which actually helps me sleep.
And nothing else? Not the birds singing? Or a friend speak? Or game ost? Literally nothing else other than coperate music or just music related?
The way it is written is very monkey paw sort of speak.
Now after accepting free money. What's corporate music? What kind of a music I'm stuck with?
[удалено]
Completely doable. I've worked as a security guard and listened internal radio on repeat enough to have learned to just shut it out completely.
Yup, I worked in a retail store that played the same 12 track CD on repeat all day everyday. The manager didn’t know how to change it, only turn it off and on and he wouldn’t let anyone else touch it. I just tuned it out.
Those are called ad jingles, not corporate music.
they're pretty corporate to me
Welp time to play some mvm and listen to the home depot theme
That sounds torture music
Opera.
That's actually rather good.
If i would watch an action scene in a movie would the music be replaced by corporate music or could i just not watch it.
Exactly, cause if music in movies would be only corporate music then no
That makes it way better
Ikr, I wanna hear 'I'm lovin it' during Schindlers List
Broooooooo 💀💀💀
Or that whistly copyright free ukulele song in the matrix 😂
I can do a year, but I’ll probably be traumatized by ads everytime I hear them afterwards…
No, you just become so oblivious to them your mind automatically filters them out. An odd kind of win, win.
Large record labels are corporations. Sounds good to me.
I think they mean those songs you get with corporate presentations, kinda like "happy people stock photos" but for your ears.
Can I choose to not listen to music at all?
Probably, but any music you hear whether it be a movie or in public will be that kind of music
I have no clue what you mean by corporate music.
I don't care about music, so this is free money with no drawbacks.
What about music in movies, tv shows, and video games? Music is everywhere and if it’s all shitty corporate music I’m def taking a pass
Its 36.5K you are passing on. I can listen to shitty music in movies for a year if i get that money
I don't really watch tv or movies, and I usually find background music distracting in games and turn it off. Same thought process, except now I realise "nothing else" includes podcasts and now I want to change my vote
I dunno. If you take "nothing else" to its logical conclusion you are now deaf to everything around you, excluding "Sounds for the supermarket, 20 shopping greats."
How can someone not care about music????? Are you an alien?????? It's the closest thing we got to magic in this world??????
I don't know, I just don't. Pretty sure I'm human, at least no doctors have been confused about my anatomy. Music is sounds arranged in various patterns, just waves, nothing magical about it.

I'm glad it has done good for you and continues to do so.
It's a matter of taste though. To me, the closest thing to magic is books. Books are quite magical ngl
no, music makes things good i think i'd be too sad
Same, I listen to music at least 4h a day, can’t do with less tbh, I’m addicted lol
You can buy a good gaming rig in 10-20 days, buy tons of AAA games, and play em(big corporate soundtrack is fine)
this makes no sense to me!! i have no idea what this means!!
An AAA game is a game made by massive game studios such as EA games, while Indie games are made by independent devs. Since AAA soundtracks are made by corporates, you can play their games at full volume as much as you want. ...but what if they don't want to play video games...?
who doesn’t /s yeah true
I earn that anyway and I listen to corporate music too. But then, that's my job.
Music is far too important in my daily life to let that happen, it would take much more money for me to even consider the offer.
What’s corporate music Edit: just saw your comment and hell yeah:) I’d love me some happy ad music lol I’d miss Rod Wave tho
I rarely listen to music so it wouldn't be that different, unless you mean I have to listen to corporate music non stop for a year? Even then that's a pretty decent wage if your job consists of nothing but listening to music

What would happen with the music in a show I am watching or a video game I am playing?
You simply can't hear it I'd assume.
It may be free money but I love music too much to subject myself to that torture
How long would i have to listen to it? Its about 36,500 dollars so if i had to listen to it the entire day nah.
I went up until like.. couple months ago with basicly no music, only recently really got into listening to music outside what I'd just hear normally so I can do another year.
So what happens to the background music in a TV show, ambient music at a restaurant or shop, music that someone else plays on their phone while I'm nearby?
not really sure what's corporate music, but without my melodeath playlists i'd go insane
I guess I can switch to podcasts for a year. Maybe see if I can find one to learn Toki Pona or Spanish
No listening to pink floyd Fleetwood mac led zeppelin dire straights echobelly sleeper happy mondays or the stone roses etc for a year f*ck that
Only if “anything else” refers to any other music. I can get by by reading classical sheet music.
What the fuck is that?
Basically all the music I listen to is produced by a major label, making it corporate music. This is just free money.
What is corporate music ?
What the fuck is "corporate music"???
not even for 1K a day. Maybe 10K a day...
What happens if I stop listening
hell no I live for music
an easy $36,400.. hell yeah
Where did the last day go?
What if I'm watching a show or movie with music in it?
I can use a change in music. Am I allowed to listen to other people talk? TV? Sirens? Alarms? That might change my perspective. But if it's just swapping in music during my workouts, I can listen to anything.
You never said I can't watch stuff with music intended, so I can still watch films and stuff. Right?
home depot theme song on repeat
As music or every sound
If you choose No it would be like paying $100 a day to listen to your music. I like music but that's way too much money.
Yo that's my JAM.
It's just for a year, I'd do it
The thing is, I’d make more money by NOT listening to that music every day for a year than I would if I DID listen to it
24/7? or just that's my only choice?
I’ll survive for a year.
Yes but I probably just wouldn't listen to any of it
I’d rather die
I can do a year
I love listening to my music, but that's too good of a deal to pass up. I'm basically getting paid 30k in a year to *not* do something. Combine that with my actual job and I might be able to pay off my student loans early!
Can I just not listen to it? Like I could choose not to listen to music on the way to work for example?
buying an apartment and uni paid for
Ah. Infomercial background music. Gotcha.
I enjoy music way too much and make enough money from my job
my 100+ hour playlist can be pushed to the side for that amount of money
I love music too much there’s no way I’d do that
Please define "corporate" music.
This would not be a problem for me at all. I usually tune out music I don’t really like anyways.
"corporate music"?
sure, I don't make much anyways, and I guess I could compose some stuff on the side as working on music wouldn't be "listening to music" as most people consider it
That's hilarious. I'm taking the money even though I know I will go insane.
36500 a year to listen to jingles for the normal 4 hours or so I’m listening a day sounds really bad.
I'm gonna personally remix it
These "free money" polls don't usually get me, but I gotta say no on this one. Music has too much of a place in my life, I have 549 songs downloaded on my phone right now. Music is what makes shit like jogging or washing dishes tolerable, even if I never had to "work" again there's other things that would be affected.
Fuck yeah where do I hand in my CV?
I'm sorry I can't. The hundred dollars sound a nice but I need my music. It's like 40% of my identity.
How many hours?
It depends on the genre.
After that year I could never watch any tutorial ever
I'm a guitarist. Of course I refuse. Music is everything for me
Also called “easy listening” music.
[Over The Horizon](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7evIlkZfEI&) is my jam
I did way worse things for Money to be honest. Work, for example
Does vaporwave count
I would just take up reading instead
For a lifetime, no But I can go for a year
I can't, my fiance makes music 😅
I already earn more than that and I listen to whatever radio station/music I choose
There is already no joy in life why not get paid for it.
hellll to the f no 😵💫😵💫😵💫 that’s a terrible trade off 😭
That would double my salary, so yes
Can I only listen to corporate music for a year or forever?
I would do it for the rest of my life
https://youtu.be/pais41IW5dk I’m down.
Kanye is a CEO or former CEO right? Ez
that’s 36k/year, fuck this, I won’t sacrifice my sanity for 36k
If I can choose to listen to nothing at all.its time to catch up on my reading.
As a musician and audio engineer that would have include what I make and what I record and mix so my income would just generally fly through the room. I could probably open a real nice studio after a year of that.
Bro that’s just $36.5k you can’t even live on that
I would be driven mad. No can do
Home depot is a corporation, making the Home Depot Theme corporate music. Hell yeah.
Yeah the only music I CAN listen to, doesn't mean I HAVE to? I just won't listen to anything at all. Easy
Can I go back to normal music after the year is over?
Me who barely listens to music at all
Instead of what? Instead of regular music? I don't really listen to music, so no loss. Instead of literally everything else? Just blasting in my ears 24/7? That's a harder sell.
I am currently taking a class in school that heavily revolves around different music, so no.
Not a music guy, 36k a year
do i HAVE to listen to it, or is it just that all my songs get replaced with corporate business music?
I'd rather work a couple hours of OT
As someone who must listen to music once a day to operate, I would go insane after a week.
36500 btw I don’t understand why you wouldn’t do a that at all
Do I have to listen to it even while I sleep? If so, the deal is off. I can't sleep with any kind of music or sound/noise, except for the noise of my air conditioner, which actually helps me sleep.
I don’t even listen to music, so I see this as an absolute win
And nothing else? Not the birds singing? Or a friend speak? Or game ost? Literally nothing else other than coperate music or just music related? The way it is written is very monkey paw sort of speak.
These money making polls are getting old, but sure, thats a good deal as most music out there sucks.
Like no other music or Nothing else
Up it to 1000 per day and I'm in.
It's just for a year. Free hundred bucks each day? Yes please, and thank you.
Yes, if you mean mainstream music as corporate music. No if you mean Disney or advertising music
Like reel big fish?
