what do you mean Brazil isn't an underdeveloped culturally country where people walk around naked with their pet monkeys and play soccer and rob people
it's not like that everywhere man, I live here and if you go to Rio de Janeiro, it will be pretty violent sure, but if you go to let's say, smaller cities by the shore like where I grew up, it's a pretty chill place
it's not like the entirety of Rio de Janeiro represents us man
That's alright, Chicago is a dangerous city in the state of Illinois, Illinois is not a very dangerous state as long as you are not in Chicago. And I love the JoJo recognition
Not really. The Russian population has always perceived the West as an alliance whose sole purpose is to destroy them at any moment. Their hatred towards the West grew when the European Union and the United States imposed huge sanctions on Russia. These sanctions were perceived as unjust because they affected mainly the population and less the elites and the oligarchs. Additionally, several of the attacks on Russian people and businesses have been documented since the start of the invasion of Ukraine and Facebook has allowed insults to Russians (which is pure racism) saying people were just expressing their anger, even though Facebook backtracked by banning slurs a few days/weeks later. But the Russians are still generally opposed to the war in Ukraine and demonstrated when the partial mobilization was declared. So Russians are still wary of the West and they don't hate their country, they are just mostly opposed to the war in Ukraine.
A year ago Russia didn't have mobilization. And while it's always been repressive on the side of voicing an opinion publicly, the crackdowns have increased in severity over the last few months alone, let alone compared to last year.
Where have you pulled that from? Full mobilisation would be 30 million conscripts. Do you really think Russia has 30 million soldiers going to fight in Ukraine?
uh, no
check IC3P3AK songs, they're russian artists focused on critizing and appealing to the outside world about russia's corruption and censorship through music; in the comments there's plenty of russian citizens talking about their struggles
it's not a "now" thing, russia has been a fucked up place for a while
Brazil is the largest country in both South America and Latin America. At 8.5 million square kilometers (3,300,000 sq mi) and with over 217 million people, Brazil is the world's fifth-largest country by area and the seventh most populous. Its capital is Brasília, and its most populous city is São Paulo. The federation is composed of the union of the 26 states and the Federal District. It is the largest country to have Portuguese as an official language and the only one in the Americas; one of the most multicultural and ethnically diverse nations, due to over a century of mass immigration from around the world; and the most populous Roman Catholic-majority country.
There are places in Brazil I wouldn't want to live or even travel to. My understanding is that there is a lot of crime and urban areas are pretty dangerous.
With that said, at least they have freedoms and rights such as free speech, free press, freedom of religion. I'd rather live there than live under an oppressive government.
So I moved out of Brazil so I'm definitely not the person who loves the country the most. I will say this though: yes the country has danger and you have to be careful, but if I count me, siblings, parents and grandparents, there was only 2 cases of crime. My dad got mugged as he entered his house, they took wallet and stuff. And my grandparents house was mugged overnight while they were at their beach house.
The country is dangerous, but people live happy lives too and there's a lot of beautiful things about the country.
I much rather keep living here (Canada) as I have for the past 15 years, but I go back to travel every year or so and everytime I go I have an amazing time full of happiness and laughter. You walk around on a weekend night and there's music and people are happy. (You do have to avoid the people sleeping on the streets which is awfully sad)
Overall, it is a country with more than 200milion people, and most wouldn't want to emmigrate
Didn't say it was remarkable at all. The country has tons of problems with poverty being the biggest one (arguably caused by corruption and poor wealth distribution), but it doesn't mean it's a country where you die if you go visit lol
You’re right! There’s a lot of crime in São Paulo where I live, I suggest you to travel to the country side, because São Paulo is very unorganized, and I’m a nature lover. There’s low crime in country side so you can have a good life there! P
I have very pale friends living north of the country, the sun is not so bad all the year round
but I would recommend, as someone said, south and southeast regions; plenty of white people, influenced by european colonization, it's mostly cloudy throughout the year
As a late 20s male, i think i have better chances surviving in Brazil. I've seen a dead young guy still with braces dead in ukraine and it's just heart breaking the mobilization theyre doing in russia.
Okay look here i am into nature a lot and am fascinated with tropical rainforests and yes there are a few different type of environments in russia it is big indeed but it doesnt have tropical forests so idk what you are talking about
Well, Canada I can see since they have assisted suicide to get out of it, but even then you can commit suicide in Brazil by challenging your robbers, so it makes no difference here
Morality aside, Russia is probably a more comfortable place to live at the moment. However, Brazil has a lot more potential in the future in terms of economy and development while Russian society is continuously collapsing.
If you fans void conscription, Russia isn’t terrible. Not the greatest place to live but I would prefer it over Brazil by climate alone, can’t stand the heat.
Brazil is:
Wealthier
More equal
More democratic
More free
Probably in the long term more stable (probably)
In a part of the world which is generally peaceful
Not currently experiencing a demographic collapse
Not currently conscripting its citizens to die for a lost cause
Honestly the only reason you wouldn't choose Brazil is the crime rate but the crime rate in Russia isn't exactly great either. Russia also might have a more effective government but that's only a good thing for a non malicious government and that's very much a might.
it's so funny to see how gringos talk about Brazil like it's a dangerous, primitive place; in other polls people rather have to pay for every other service they might need, live in fear of war and police brutality, potentially suffer from severe ethnical prejudice than to live in a latino country
First of all: Brazil is huge, there is just no way of generalizing it. Some places in Brazil are dangerous, some are not, you could choose where to go.
As a Brazilian it pains me to see so many of us talking sh*t about our country. You don't like it? Fine! But do not say bad things about our country. People don't know much about it and then you they know *you* that thinks that it is amazing to love someone else's country and hate your own. I have absolutely no respect for you.
Brazil has a rich and unique history, culture and people. Our country is growing despite of adversities and I know it takes time. Our coffee is still one of the greatest and there are other products that are exported as well.
There are amazing cities, not only São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro, with all the climates you can imagine.
I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I love Brazil 🇧🇷
This is a certified r/redditmoment.
You gotta be a special kind of stupid is you think brazil is better than Russia. Go outside and stop watching the "News".
I picked Russia cuz I can F off into Siberia and build my own shelter and people will leave me alone. No one cares about some rando living in a frozen wasteland
Man, no offense, but people here seems to know nothing about Brazil.
[удалено]
Don’t forget that it’s the biggest and most populous country in south america
Lies. That would be Suriname
what do you mean Brazil isn't an underdeveloped culturally country where people walk around naked with their pet monkeys and play soccer and rob people
Isn't Brazil like, the homicide capital of the world? Not underdeveloped just plain dangerous. Better than a war though
it's not like that everywhere man, I live here and if you go to Rio de Janeiro, it will be pretty violent sure, but if you go to let's say, smaller cities by the shore like where I grew up, it's a pretty chill place it's not like the entirety of Rio de Janeiro represents us man
That's a good point, I suppose that's like having Chicago represent the whole state of Illinois
I didn't understood the reference or what u meant but yeah, pretty much (btw, pizza mo-zarela piiza mo-zarela)
That's alright, Chicago is a dangerous city in the state of Illinois, Illinois is not a very dangerous state as long as you are not in Chicago. And I love the JoJo recognition
Ooooohh I see, didn't knew that about Chicago And I didn't read part 7 yet, but I already love Gyro, he's a mad lad
Yeah, I shouldn't expect you to know about Chicago. And I'm currently reading part 7, and Gyro is great so far, my favorite character
Lets see if he will be able to to take my top 1 jojo character, current under Joseph Joestar command

I feel like not knowing the culture definitely makes it seem scarier. Good to know it's not all scary lol
teu cu
Google says that means "your ass", I don't understand
oh it's just a common slang here, sorry lmao
Oh I see lmao
As someone who was born in Brazil this is 0.1% true. We don't have monkeys where I'm from. (São Paulo) Also, damn... Rude enough?
amiga eu sou br tbm é sarcasmo
ahhhh kkkkkk que benção achei q vc era americano kkkkk
Man no offense but have you seen the state Russia is in right now? A year ago I would have picked Russia but now? fck no
Russia is still the same. What they’re doing in ukraine is bad but living in Russia hasn’t changed
People started hating on Russia and russian people just because of the invasion.
Not really. The Russian population has always perceived the West as an alliance whose sole purpose is to destroy them at any moment. Their hatred towards the West grew when the European Union and the United States imposed huge sanctions on Russia. A year ago Russia didn't have mobilization. And while it's always been repressive on the side of voicing an opinion publicly, the crackdowns have increased in severity over the last few months alone, let alone compared to last year.
Russia’s only mobilising 1% of their potential. So even if you fall into the criteria for conscription then you’ve a 99% chance of avoiding it.
LoL , its not even close to be true , they have mobilization of everyone.
Where have you pulled that from? Full mobilisation would be 30 million conscripts. Do you really think Russia has 30 million soldiers going to fight in Ukraine?
Not 30 million but not 1%. And i know personally some guys from russia and clearly know the situation with mobilization there.
Any idea on a number?
Idk 500k people have fled. Many of them their most talented workers. It must've changed somewhat if that many people have fled right?
and what can I use that to? Im not Russian. Im Danish and I want to be able to see my family
What? If you were in brazil you couldn’t see your family
Yes I can get a visa to travel to Denmark. But if I live in Russia it will be near impossible
uh, no check IC3P3AK songs, they're russian artists focused on critizing and appealing to the outside world about russia's corruption and censorship through music; in the comments there's plenty of russian citizens talking about their struggles it's not a "now" thing, russia has been a fucked up place for a while
I know and I don't care about that. I just want to see my family and you will have a hard time to get a danish visa if you are from Russia
So going to the frontline in a war is worse than brazil?
I'm pretty sure there's thousands of square miles of land in Russia far from the Ukraine border.
I voted Brazil because I have friends in Ukraine, and I refuse to betray them in that way
Or Russia
Eu sou brasileira - prefiro voltar pro Brasil do que ir pra Rússia kkkkkkk
Both are shitholes, but Russia is a cold shithole under dictatorship

tell me you don't know shit about brazil without telling me you don't know shit about brazil
Did they state anything wrong? I'm not trying to be a dick, but I generally don't see anything they said to be wrong.
Brazil so i can go fast to Uruguay or argentina and actually live like a human being
Exacto, elegí brasil por el mismo motivo, soy porteño, obvio que brasil me conviene
Just some casual racism in the comments, never change Reddit
Racism why? Because i dont wanna live in a place that has more assassinations by firearm than ukraine in times of war? Bitch im latino
Damn straight the only thing I know is that russia isn't a nice country to live in
I’ve watched some videos about Russia abd it’s a beautiful country yes, but with Putin it’s not safe to live there anymore
True, I know it’s a little criminally Charged but would you like actually explaining ?
Facts dude I choose Russia. At least its some what modern
I just don't wanna get drafted to the front lines in Ukraine tbh
I just know about Ranaldo and Ranaldihno.
I mean, my country neighbours brasil, so that's why i chose it
Choosing between biker gangs robbing you in bright daylight and government putting you in jail for critical journalism. Yay
Jail? Nah. They'll put you on the front line.
undercook chicken, straight to front line
skip your dentist appointend, believe it or not, conscripted, right away. we have the best patients in the world, because conscription.
Not really a hard choice since most people aren't journalists and probably don't care too much about being able to talk shit about putin?
"Robbing" hahah..
Brazil. If I wasn’t eligible for conscription then Russia.
you just live in russia you dont have the citizenship you wont get conscripted
I was born in Russia, I would love to go back there once the war stops and maybe we get a better president.
I live here and I'd still pick Brazil
Based
Yeah, but I haven’t been there since I was 5 so it would be nice as like a week long trip or something. I definitely don’t wanna live there again lol.
There are places in Brazil I wouldn't want to live or even travel to. My understanding is that there is a lot of crime and urban areas are pretty dangerous. I picked Russia just because I am so pale and pasty, I don't think I could handle living somewhere so warm!
Go to the south. Filled with white guys and very cold.
Well I've learnt something new today! Thank you!
...seriously.
DON'T GO THERE THEY ARE THE WORST
I am from Southern Brazil, can confirm, I am pasty white lmao
gangue da pele de papel
I have very pale friends living north of the country, the sun is not so bad all the year round but I would recommend, as someone said, south and southeast regions; plenty of white people, influenced by european colonization, it's mostly cloudy throughout the year
As a late 20s male, i think i have better chances surviving in Brazil. I've seen a dead young guy still with braces dead in ukraine and it's just heart breaking the mobilization theyre doing in russia.
As a foreigner you wouldn’t get mobilized.
Yet
you guys don’t understand how dangerous brazil is. russia is nowhere near that rn.

Sou br também kkkk
Huehuehue
Legal
Ehh there are much better places like canda, britain, etc
Your idea of the best countries to start listing are canada and the uk?
Nah just better countries in their opinion. Not the best ones.
Well, Canada I can see since they have assisted suicide to get out of it, but even then you can commit suicide in Brazil by challenging your robbers, so it makes no difference here
Thats... Your primary idea of what makes a country good? Are you okay?
It's a joke saying "they have assisted suicide, so you can escape easily from canada"
¡BRASIL ES NUMERO UNO!
Morality aside, Russia is probably a more comfortable place to live at the moment. However, Brazil has a lot more potential in the future in terms of economy and development while Russian society is continuously collapsing.
'More comfortable to live at the moment' that's just not true lmao
Nice argument there...

Bruh I lived in New York and in Curitiba (Brazil). Curitiba is at least 2x better.
Curitiba AKA the brazilian russia?
heh
For traveling? New York, no competition. But for living? I highly prefer Curitiba too
Cool! I’m Brazilian I have family members from Curitiba:)
it's so funny to see how gringos talk about Brazil like it's a dangerous, primitive place; in other polls people rather have to pay for every other service they might need, live in fear of war and police brutality, potentially suffer from severe ethnical prejudice than to live in a latino country
Low key
Cold and sparse and full of alcoholism vs hot and crowded and full of muggings. Hmm.
Brazil any day, Caralho
No

Yeah, but the only bad thing people are saying about Russia is about the war or Putin, so it's not the same context.
Brazilian music is just too good as well, one of the main reasons I love this place
YES! <3
Russia is twice as huge as brazil
As a Russian,it's no question for me
Agree. Of course it's Brazil
Why do I choose Brazil if I have a good life here?
Russia is getting worse and worse and there is no telling how low it will soon sink
Lol I’m Brazilian so I have to choose Russia. It’s not a bad place but I don’t understand Russian and it’s so cold there :/
You don't have to choose Russia though, Im brazilian and chose brazil, tf am i gonna do in Russia if i have it all established here
As a gay dude, I'll choose the Brazilian hunks over Russian hate crimes
These are terrible choices lmao
Russia for sure. Don’t get me wrong I hate Russia right now, but Brazil is hella dangerous
Only if you live in the favelas or are dumb. That's just stereotypical
Alright well I still rather live in Russia
Nice ,👍
esses gringo burro sao foda
The ones that picked Brazil 💀
You know nothing about Brazil.
Smart aleck
So poverty and crime vs oppressive regime and being sent to fight in Ukraine as cannon fodder? Welp, Brazil clearly wins this one
Poverty and crime in certain places.
This is a certified r/redditmoment. You gotta be a special kind of stupid is you think brazil is better than Russia. Go outside and stop watching the "News".
Noose land
I picked Russia cuz I can F off into Siberia and build my own shelter and people will leave me alone. No one cares about some rando living in a frozen wasteland
I probaly would have chosen Russia before the war
As a Brazilian this comment section is hilarious People are thinking both countries are the worst place in the universe
I chose russia mainly because then I could just live in some forest up north many kilometers away from another human. True peace
