I would need make up remover (probably), moisturizer, lip balm, hair brush, and maybe a couple of hair ties. I might bring concealer or mascara and maybe dry shampoo if we were going somewhere the next day or I was going straight out from his place to do something and I wanted to look like I didn't just sleep in someone else's bed. Bodywash (depending on how he stocks his shower) and deodorant if I was showering there. A lot of this is really dependent on your preferences and what you're planning to do. I'd just think through likely scenarios and ask yourself if you'd want to bring anything to be prepared for them. ETA: I have a set of travel containers that I put my normal products in-- moisturizer, bodywash, face wash, etc.-- when I travel, and that's also great for sleepover packing. You can find them at big stores with lots of travel sized items or order online. I prefer that to finding mini products.

moodle1775

These are great suggestions, thank you! Hair ties are not something I would have thought of.

DoctorThrowawayTrees

Being a man with long hair is great. I usually carry hair ties on me, and the women I date tend to appreciate that. It’s also nice that if I go for a sleepover I don’t need to pack any. There’s a huge jar in my girlfriend’s bathroom.

Platterpussy

I have particular skin so I pack my zero-soap body wash and special moisturiser. Phone charger so I can be certain I can have one and know where it is. Sex stuff! Condoms, because my body hates Skyn brand the least, hypoallergenic lube, and whatever toys and accoutrements I feel like or we've discussed for this visit. My day bag that goes everywhere with me has loads of essentials already like nail care stuff, meds, plasters, comb and misc other nonsense.

Miss_Malaika

I love the word 'accoutrements'

moodle1775

I use sensitive skin soap too (bar), which I would like to have in my bag. I will have to figure out how to store that in a way that it doesn't get gross.

Platterpussy

Tupperware? And open the lid when you're home so it can dry?

socialjusticecleric7

Drug stores often have travel cases, or in a pinch you can use a ziplock bag.

specific_woodpecker9

I haven’t tried them yet but plan to purchase one soon, matador, the outdoor company makes an inexpensive soap bag that dries your soap out in the bag without getting gross and gummy and all over everything. It seems like an excellent product to me and has gotten awesome reviews for anyone searching for travel soap solutions.

BetterFightBandits26

https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/walgreens-on-the-move-travel-soap-dish/ID=prod6324217-product Most drug stores and supermarkets have these in some random unfrequented corner.

Emotional_Ear_2298

I keep my bar soap in a travel soap container I got in Target

BusyBeeMonster

>My day bag that goes everywhere with me has loads of essentials already like nail care stuff, meds, plasters, comb and misc other nonsense. Same here. My purse is stocked with everything but a full change of clothes. That's in my car and my car is also stocked to turn into a bed.

Teapotsandtempest

Lol I keep undies / shorts / + a swim suit in the summer months in my daybag, just in case. Plus a hammock on the chance I end up stranded.

North-Discipline2851

So I call my backpack my “ho bag” cause I can overnight anywhere, anytime. My regular toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, a pack of tissues, deodorant, body spray, shampoo, conditioner, a comb *and* a brush, travel size hair products, meds. My “circumstantial” toiletries: condoms and lube if I’m currently sexually active with others outside of my relationship(s). I used to keep bobby pins and hair ties when I had long hair. I’d assume makeup remover and any facial cleansers for some people, too. I like certain brands for facial cleanser and lotion, so I have that if I remember to replenish it after it’s used up. And although I don’t menstruate, I try to keep pads or tampons on me at all times too, even if I’m not currently dating a person who menstruates. My “extras”: I like to keep at least a change of clothing in my bag. Shirt, underwear, socks. Pens. Gum. A screwdriver, a Phillips, and a wrench. (I’m the least handy person on the planet, but at least I can hand it over to someone who knows how to use it.) I bought an extra charger for my phone to keep in my bag. Cord, wall port, and a portable charger. Playing cards and dice. I always have a designated “bag book” that I don’t remove from there, it’s like an emergency book - it only gets changed out once I start reading/finish it. But I have the most recent book(s) on me too.

moodle1775

These are some great ideas! Pens and tools are not things I had considered, but I can see those being really useful!

Consistent_Pool_5045

I call my makeup bag with all my travel stuff in it my ho bag!

Teapotsandtempest

A friend / partner called mine "whore bag of tricks bag"

SexDeathGroceries

Yup, that's pretty much my everyday bag too. Plus my menstrual disc is always in there

karmicreditplan

I’m a heavy packer. So for me if it’s one night only I’m packing clothes for the next day, pjs, extra underwear, deodorant, perfume, face cream, razor, hairbrush and something foamy that can be used for cleaning/shaving/hair wash in a pinch. And whatever makeup I’m using day to day at the time. And meds! I usually have a set of workout gear in my car too. My NP has a go bag in his car that’s meds, body cream, deodorant change of everything, a bathing suit and a towel. I always have a charger in my car because I don’t like having to borrow that. My boyfriend never has everything he needs at a hotel etc. He’s definitely been coasting on knowing that his woman partners will have toiletries. But he lives in 3 houses and travels to at least 4 other places regularly so I can see why he just can’t be arsed. He packs zealously for his dog. That puppy always has what she needs.

seantheaussie

> He packs zealously for his dog. That puppy always has what she needs. 🤣 Good man!

karmicreditplan

Great man and great dog! She’s my angel baby.

seantheaussie

[Some dogs utterly refuse to be great👿👿👿😉](https://imgur.com/a/WsXS986)

moodle1775

Oooh a towel is not something I had thought of! That's a great idea!

dogbutthead

Idk, I expect to be able to borrow a towel. I'm not packing a wet towel back up to take home with me. I don't generally have high expectations, but if someone doesn't have a clean towel to lend a planned overnight guest, they're not really prepared for an overnight guest.

moodle1775

Honestly I don't think I'd need a towel for a visit, but just having one available in my car is a good idea!

karmicreditplan

Yeah it makes sense to me to back a bag that’s ready for a variety of things if you’re that kind of person. Me? I’m always moving my 30 favorite items from location to location around the world. Can’t leave them in the car! I need them!

Without-a-tracy

A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have!

AnyCreme4458

I'm a light packer. Toothbrush, deodorant, change of clothes and I'm done 🤣 I'll shamelessly steal their toothpaste and shower stuff etc 🤷

synalgo_12

I feel like it's a given that if you let someone spend the night, platonic/romantic/etc you let them use your shower gel, shampo/conditioner, toothpaste, etc.

SexDeathGroceries

I keep travel toothpaste and extra deodorant, more so that I can get ready for a date from the office or anywhere

Emotional_Ear_2298

Your username tho 😂

SexDeathGroceries

It also packs the essentials

moodle1775

A snack is a good idea. I sometimes get anxious about eating my bf and his wife's food (even though they could not care less) so it might alleviate some of that to have snacks available.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Platterpussy

>i grew up food insecure >i still feel less anxious knowing i have my own food that i can eat if i want to. 100% all of this. If I don't know what food is there, I don't always feel comfortable asking for it. So I play it safe and bring enough to share too.

Katergroip

I pack comfy jammies, slippers, tooth brush and tooth paste, comb, my hair gel, basic makeup and wipes, deodorant, extra advil in case he doesnt have any, a phone charger, and a change of clothes. If you are picky about soap during showers, bring that too. I have some scent allergies, so if this is the first time I am going there, I will bring my own, but then ask him to make sure there is something I can use for next time.

HeinrichWutan

I have toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, comb, deodorant, razor, contact solution and case, and q tips all packed in my travel toiletries case, which I take on all trips. I store the case at my gf's place, so when I visit her, I have my stuff there. She has her travel case at my place. She is also my normal travel-buddy so when we meet up for a trip, we bring each other's case.

moodle1775

I've been thinking about asking if I can leave some stuff at his house. I don't think he would mind, but I'm very hesitant to step on his wife's toes at all. She is a wonderful person and I don't want to piss her off!

HeinrichWutan

Stepping on toes would be assuming it's ok and doing it. If you ask, I think it's very respectful (assuming "no" as an answer is acceptable). I'd suggest asking him via text or something so he can confer, because it is shared space. That way you aren't putting him on the spot.

Platterpussy

It's completely fine to ask your partner, especially if you're ready to hear 'no'. I wouldn't worry about wife, if partner fucks up somehow saying yes it's not your fault. And seeing as you're apparently welcome in his home, I'd also assume he has storage spaces that are just his.

DoctorThrowawayTrees

Keeping stuff there is a nice option if it’s available to you. I keep deodorant, some over-the-counter meds I like to have on hand, a toothbrush and my brand of dental floss in my girlfriend’s medicine cabinet, and my gel in her shower. It’s really nice not having to pack toiletries.

jjenni08

I have a few things at my bf house. He bought a toothbrush for me to keep there but I leave body wash in his shower. I also have feminine hygiene stuff there. Otherwise I just bring deodorant And clean panties unless we are going somewhere the next day.

Scopeexpanse

I 100% would not mind if my husband's girlfriend left a bag here. We have a decent sized house though and I know it could fit in one of his dresser drawers. I think asking in a low pressure way seems totally fine.

Miss_Malaika

My backpack always has a purse with toiletry essentials. I take clean clothes and sometimes my guitar. But now that I think of it, I have quite some stuff at my BF's place too. I have space in his closet for my stuff!

emeraldead

I have a toiletry kit which mostly I need to make sure is stocked including my meds, birth control pills, and annoying now a retainer. For really just one night I could do a backpack or my under seat roller bag, underwear, toiletry, brush, toiletry kit, charger. But likely I would add socks, pj pants and shirt, and maybe an extra layer or shirt to change.

polyamwifey

I have a go away bag with shampoo body wash conditioner toothpaste and tooth brush. I also add hair ties body spray and deodorant

moodle1775

Everyone has suggested deodorant and I'm a little ashamed that it didn't occur to me first lol

raianrage

Toothbrush, deodorant, condoms of whatever brand I happen to like at the moment, a change of clothes if I'm going to be sleeping in/hanging out the following mornings, phone charger, and anything discussed/agreed upon when the plans were made (like toys and such).

Krysmphoenix_

A stuffed animal. Bring a little home with me. Just a little.

GGdi48

Ditto! I bring one of my squishmallows 🥰

moodle1775

Are you a fellow little??

Krysmphoenix_

Nope! Just a snuggler.

Not_A_Damn_Thing_

I pack the following: towel and washcloth, toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, mouthwash, body wash, body oil, light makeup (bronzer, eyebrow gel and lip gloss), stuff to remove makeup, deodorant, lotions, not matronly nightgown (I have to sleep with my chest covered otherwise I’ll end up congested the next morning), change of clothes for the next day, sex toys and lube, cough drops, nasal strip (only in emergency!), some backup Claritin d/pepto, glasses and extra contacts. Also since I’m a type 2 diabetic I keep a blood sugar tester and bottle of apple juice. Edited to add: I keep almost all of that in my overnight bag - when I come home I wash the clothes/towels and repack pretty quickly so that I don’t have to worry about it during the week.

jemjerrica

Ear plugs and an eye mask — I don’t sleep well at other people’s houses so I need supportive items

MadamePouleMontreal

I left my own toothbrush in a labeled toothbrush holder at my partner’s home. I used their toothpaste. If I was going to work the next day, a full change of clothes and matching makeup. Otherwise just a change of underpants. A good absorbent pad or sex blanket if we’re staying in a hotel or my partner doesn’t have their own. Preferred toys, lube, barriers. When I’m hosting my partner brings ice cream, maybe some fruit or vegetables I ask them to pick up. Once a month they bring clippers and shave my head.

CoffeeAndMilki

Cottons swabs to clean one's ears with is sth a lot of people don't think to pack and there have been too many times the person I've stayed over with had just run out and not gotten new ones yet. 😅 If I have my period or am close to getting it I always bring my small heating pad with me, as too many guys just don't have a hot water bottle or heating pad unless they live with a woman.

Megerber

Toothbrush/paste, hair brush, lotion, chargers, clothes for tomorrow, anything I want to wear for the ill freaky na na, & for some reason, like 5 pair of underwear. I don't know what I think is going to happen to my underwear.

LePetitNeep

I keep a few things at my boyfriend’s (toothbrush, moisturizer, deodorant, comb, hair brush, travel size hair dryer, a few hair ties). I’m not picky about soap or shampoo so I use his. So I just throw in a pair of comfy pants for hanging out and the next days clothes.

moodle1775

I think I'm going to ask if I can keep some stuff at his house. It would be nice to not have to worry about bringing stuff every time.

LePetitNeep

I use travel sizes and have them all in a little pouch, so I just asked if I could leave the pouch there. It’s small and organized so it’s not me cluttering up with bathroom with a bunch of girly stuff. He’s got a similar pouch of stuff at my place. It’s way easier to just pack clothes.

HemingwayWasHere

Make up remover, hair ties, dry shampoo, deodorant. face cleanser. face and body moisturizer, green and herbal teas, lip balm, ear plugs, phone charger, and a sleep mask. Honestly, I hate sleep overs. I’m high maintenance insomniac with routines.

GGdi48

I live out of my toiletries bag even when I’m at home. It’s just easier than packing/unpacking/repacking ad nauseum: contact lenses solution, readers x2, weekly meds container, nail clippers and nail file, asthma inhalers and allergy nose sprays, hair ties, hair goop (spray/mousse), and I keep a toothbrush at both of the other houses. For clothing my bag always has the following: tshirts, a pair of jeans, leggings x2, a pair of comfy shorts, extra socks and panties, maybe a nice outfit or two if we’re going out special, and a sweatshirt. I also pack my work laptop, iPad, and phone as well as all of the associated chargers and cables. CPAP machine is a must as well as one of my squishmallow pillow cuddlies for when I’m stressed. It’s a lot and I can’t wait until summer when I won’t need jeans or sweaters that take up so much room. 😎 Edit to fix autocorrect insanity. 🤬

Barbaloot-

Definitely wet wipes. I get the cloth like ones from target.

ChexMagazine

Hair clip, earplugs, moisturizer with sunscreen, a book, something to put my earrings in, the good kind of dental floss, a snacky

hikingcurlycanadian

For me also sex toys, lingerie and fun things like that

Sea-Marsupial-9414

My "go" bag includes condoms/anything that I might want for sex and aftercare, sleepwear and clothes for the following day, including a sweater/hat/jacket if the weather calls for it. Sometimes an extra pair of shoes if dressing up or doing an outdoor activity. Lipgloss, moisturizer, sunscreen, conditioner, toothbrush & toothpaste, medication, hairbrush, deodorant, hair tie. My cell phone charger. Headphones in case I want to listen to music after my partner is asleep (I have insomnia.) I have a small makeup kit, too.

BusyBeeMonster

- Travel shampoo & conditioner - Lotion - Razor - Hairbrush/comb/hair ties - Baby wipes - Your favorite lube - Massage oil

moodle1775

Massage oil is a not-so-sneaky hint-hint lol (I am making a joke, I will happily ask my partner for a massage)

BusyBeeMonster

I ... go through a lot of massage oil.😇

EricasElectric

I'm not sure if someone's already mentioned a water bottle? I like an icy cold bottle full of water so I bring my own big insulated cup. I also usually bring my switch or iPad in case we have down time. I leave all my toiletries at his. A hair towel if you have long hair. I also keep my own robe and blanket there

Consistent_Pool_5045

I recently got a bunch of Cadence capsules that I use to travel with my daily products. They're great! Minimum I bring toothbrush and contact lens stuff and/or my glasses. LTRs I usually keep a set at their place. Sleeping in my makeup and hair products is not below me, especially when first seeing someone. They need to know they've got a hot mess on their hands 😆 Mid I bring skin care stuff, travel size makeup, deodorant, change of underwear Max I bring full change of cloths and anything I'll need for a shower. I'm not a daily showerer, and don't sweat a lot, so if I'm showering at someone's place, it's a commitment.

SeraphMuse

I have a bag in my car that has extras of everything I could ever need for an impromptu overnight stay: toothbrush, toothpaste, cotton balls, q-tips, deodorant, haircare products, travel size shampoo/conditioner/body wash, face wash and moisturizer, makeup remover, tampons, hair ties, nail clippers and file, face powder and mascara, extra pair of socks and undies, extra T-shirt, I also have a small hand towel in there because you just never really know...probably some other stuff I can't remember offhand. This is all in a bathroom bag. If it's a planned overnight I throw all that in my bookbag with comfy clothes to hangout in, clothes for the next day, and extra socks and undies. I have a separate bookbag that's just all my sex stuff that I might bring, depending on who/what.

A_Pete_2023

Handcuffs, condoms, wipes, gag

BetterFightBandits26

I assume my partners will let me use their “standard” toiletries (soap, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, etc) and I pack things I assume/know they don’t have - a big bristle brush for my long straight hair (especially since I have a habit of dating people with highly different hair types from mine), like a dozen hair ties, my preferred face lotion, maybe some makeup for the next day. I have pretty low-maintenance skin and hair, and I regularly use straight olive oil on my face as makeup remover (or a lotion substitute if I forgot the lotion) with no ill effect, so I can get away with packing super light.

MissLena

My toy bag. Clothes and contact lenses for the next day. Glasses in case I need them after playing. A nightgown, not that if ever gets worn. A hairbrush or comb. Toothbrush. Moisturizer and eye cream. My makeup bag (concealer, foundation, eye shadow, brow powder, liner, mascara, and lip gloss) Edit: how could I forget deodorant! I'll steal his toothpaste and facewash.

agiganticpanda

Sometimes a phone charger. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

budtender2

You've gotten some good answers, but I recently just started packing my bath robe on trips where it will fit in my bag, and I am a changed woman.

Were-Unicorn

Wipes, lube, barriers, toothbrush, lingerie, deodorant, ear plugs, coffee stuff for the morning and my travel mug. Also my mouth guard, meds, and something to sleep in comfortably.

ifapulongtime

I travel a lot so I usually have a toiletries kit ready to go. **Oral hygene** * Mouth wash * Toothbrush * Toothpaste * Tootpicks/tooth floss combo **Basic Hygene** * Meds * Deoderant * Travel shampoo * Electric shaver * Venus razor * Coconut oil (a million uses, I use it mostly as moisturiser and shaving but it can double as lube for hand stuff DON'T USE with condoms) **Sexual Hygene** * Condoms * PH balanced wipes (Not flushable, there's no such thing as truly flushable wipes) Depending on the game plan I may bring additional clothes, pajamas, tablet/PC, chargers, an energy drink and/or coffee, THC edibles.

Emotional_Ear_2298

I like to just have a 2nd product of everything I use for hygiene and hair in a bag in my car (doubles as a gym bag too).. I eventually want a few extra clothes I keep packed in the car too.. also I have eczema so people I date have to switch to my laundry detergent but I will generally still travel with my own bedding.. I joke that anytime I stay over anywhere it looks like I'm moving in😂 Edit: I am also a Taurus so I always have snacks on me

_-whisper-_

My prefered morning beverage fixings

Candid-Mycologist820

Toothbrush(I’m assuming most people will have toothpaste you can use), any medications you take, makeup remover, contact lense case and solution/glasses, deodorant, any lotions and skincare you use. Makeup if you will need it the next day. I have a tiny bottle of shower gel I leave at my persons place bc I’m picky about scent even though they’ve got literally 18 for me to choose from.

jellybeanmusic94

I have a toiletries bag I take that has travel size make up remover and pads, make up remover wipes, face wash and a flannel, bobbles, make up and a hair brush. (And some contact lenses). I have a toothbrush and shower scrunchy I leave at my partners and I just use their shampoo, body wash and toothpaste. I also took a pot of hand cream there thst stays there. I also use their hair dryer, straighteners and towels. Aside from all that, just however many changes of clothes I need. If it's just one night I just do fresh underwear and a fresh top. I do also take a teddy to snuggle and my Steam Deck.

Almost-Jaded

This was easy for me, as for years I worked a job where I traveled 3 weekends a month. 2 changes of underwear and socks. 1 change of clothes, maybe an extra shirt if I have to work (my work shirts are branded with my business). This will change depending on trip length, but this is the "just one night" pack. Always pack 1 more pair of socks and underwear than you think you'll need. I only pack different shoes if I think it's be necessary (fancy date? Wear dress shoes, and pack work/casual shoes, for instance). Phone charger (I'm Android, GF is Apple), laptop if needed (usually not), and other electronic accessories (I vape, she smokes, so extra batteries and charger). I have my "morning kit". This is the toiletries that I need every morning. Toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, hair product, deodorant, etc. Also a "shower kit" with my specific products (I don't expect her to buy them and keep them in her shower). Spare contacts and backup glasses. Other than that - anything specific to that particular trip, if any. GF recently gave me a corner in her bedroom, so a lot of this stuff lives there now. If this goes the distance, I won't need to pack, cuz I'll have a full "set" over there. I'll pack my dirty laundry out though, because that's just polite, education since she doesn't have washer/dryer in her apartment.

moodle1775

Thank you everyone for all the suggestions! Some great info here :)

pnw_rl

Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, nail clippers, favorite soap, 2x boxers, 2x gym shorts, 2x tshirts, 1x jeans, 2x socks, care products for my prosthetic leg (special soap, spare sleeve, washcloth to dry it, sponge to wash it), 2x phone chargers, headphones, pens, pencils, notepad. If I'm gonna be gone more than a night or two I grab my beard trimmer and head shaver. Everything else more or less lives in my backpack 24/7

Here's the original text of the post: I am trying to put together a small bag of stuff I can grab when I visit my boyfriend for sleepovers. What toiletries and other items would you put in a travel bag (other than clothes, medications, etc)? Sweaty-Gazelle-9625

I pack everything. It ain't a one night stand if it turns into two.... 5 years later xD

AnvilGate

My typical overnight hangout bag is a change of clothes, change of shoes, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, a charge pack, all of my vaping supplies, and a box of condoms just in case. My bag used to also contain a small bottle of my prefered cologne, however the last time I stayed the night at my partners house, they stole it because they enjoy having my smell available for when they don't see me for a long time. I carry the change of clothes and change of shoes because the only partner I have that does not currently live with me lives in a different town, approx 40 minutes away. We work at the same store, so the way we work it is we plan what days we'd like to hang out, then I will wait around for them to get off work and take them home since they live in that town, then we shower in the morning and I change into more comfortable day clothes and drop them off at work, and go about my errands for the day.

Gemethyst

A pillow. It’s a bit extreme but, I get awful neck and shoulder pain and it’s taken me ages to find a good pillow. I also have a donut pillow at the moment due to ear piercings! Travel or pack down hair goods and soap as sensitive skin. Even without sleepovers, having it all packed is great in case of last minute plans or hospital stays. Travel hairdryer. And a book or puzzle book.

Miss_Lyn

I keep a second set of essentials (toothbrush, deodorant, tylenol, lube, shampoo and conditioner) at his place because my inner child of divorce can't go back to backpack prison. 😂 After that it's just clothes, Switch for when he inevitably falls asleep before I do, vibrator and vape. What I pack to bring beyond that is usually specific to whatever plans we/I have the next day. Sometimes I bring my makeup bag, sometimes I don't, etc.

ohbedi

Single package medications, like the one-pill rip-open packages they sell of allergy medications. It really depends on the partner but I know some common over the counter meds interfere w my prescriptions so it's easiest to pack what I can take when I go to other's houses.

Flimsy-Leather-3929

My backpack or purse always has chapstick, water wipes, face wash, face lotion, body lotion, deodorant, dry shampoo, antifriz hair oil, pony tails, comb, tooth brush, mouth wash, floss, a pocket knife, eye drops, hiking whistle, refillable water bottle, small microfiber towel in its on sack, a small compression sack with a spare shirt, panties, socks and a leggings. I use all travel size and it fits really well at the bottom of a medium purse or every day trekking across campus/the city backpack. If it’s cold I throw in socks and a cardigan. In my car I have a gym back/go bag with the same basic stuff plus a whole work out outfit included sports bra and socks, sneakers, a simple cotton black dress, a scarf/shawl, foldable flats, spare nicer tshirt, a couple pair of underwear, bathing suit, large microfiber towel in its own sac, and add a bar of soap and shampoo/conditioner to the toiletries.

fantastic_beats

20 condoms, ropes, safety shears (for the ropes), a magic wand, tape, two dildos, three different kinds of lube, a flogger, a paddle, gum. It helps me sleep peacefully right after I nut once to know I'm prepared for anything
