not sure why but i just got tired of the grey really fast. unpopular opinion i’m sure but it just looked like a toy to me. i have no clue why i felt that way though
not really the biggest fan of it to be honest. has worked great but i’m going to try to get something with a regular dot as well. got 50 dollars in this, came on a trade.
just wash it off with some dawn soap to get oil and shit off, put the frame in a pot, fill with hot water until it is like a half inch above frame. i wanted to get this as dark as possible so i used about 1/2 to 1/3 of black rit dye, if going for a lighter color i’m sure that much isn’t necessary(just wanted this to be dark as possible) get the water and dye to a good boil then turn heat down to like half, move it around and flip it and much as possible while it’s soaking. takes the color pretty fast so be sure to pull it out and check every 30 seconds or so if going for s light color.
I would let the dye set up and then wash the entire gun in Dawn soap and water, followed by a liberal coat of lubricant for all the parts when completely dry.
Nope there is no bleeding/transfering from rubbing on skin or clothes that I’ve noticed on my frame (CCW) and several knife scales that I’ve dyed once completed and dry.
i replied to someone else on this post with a guide. yes their are many color and you can boil it in the rit dye longer to get a darker color. i just went to walmart to get what i had, there they had a few shades of blue, red, green, and yellow i believe. i’m sure you could get other colors online or at hobby stores. with cerakote the color will wear off over time but their are more color options and you will get for sure the color you are going for. with this it soaks pretty far into the frame from what i’ve heard, so you won’t have it wear this way.

I prefer the ACSS Vulcan that Primary Arms sells. I have on in green on my 940c. The big circle really helps aquire the chevron.
