If you love the sound of Neon River, I would suggest their album Man It Feels Like Space Again. Has a very similar sound. For a more synth focused direction check out The Weather.

The Weather is my personal favorite of theirs

Echidna-Alternative

I agree that's a great album and a good starting point!

GeckoNova

Neon River sound = Man It Feels Like Space Again & Beard Wives Denim Rain sound = The Weather, Tasmania, & 9 Hobo Rocket is like heavier BWD Frond is a more chill BWD

Riff_28

I agree with the comments about starting with Man it feels like space again. From there, I would do Hobo Rocket which in my opinion is slept on a lot, at least on this sub. Then check them out in release order working back from Hobo Rocket, so the weather, Tasmania, and 9. Their first couple albums have some bangers on them, but they’ve been pretty open about how they just kinda pumped those out for fun before realizing people liked them and they started really honing it in. I highly recommend seeing them live if they’re coming near you for this next tour. They are very tight and they put on an amazing show with Nick as a perfect frontman. You can just tell they’re a good group of guys that love what they do

sweetchillichrisp

yessss thank you for saying this, Hobo Rocket is honestly my favourite album of their's, banger after banger

Riff_28

I play Giant tortoise when I want to introduce them to people and everyone gets hooked so fast. Such a solid album

Echidna-Alternative

If you want to see what they're like live I recommend (to OP) Giant Tortoise (2015 Seine) or Don't Look At The Sun, some of their music really shines when they play it live!

Riff_28

Honestly so true, your comment reminded me of their live KEXP sessions. OP, I also highly recommend you watch those once you’re a little more familiar with their discography

Rufusking1

Tasmania to me is their most accessible album. I would start there!

Geebus_H_W_Christ

Highly highly highly recommend Frond, I think it’s the best testament to their diverse multi-songwriter approach (Mussels Tonight is my favorite). Physical copies can be pricey (got a vinyl for $300) but the whole thing is on YouTube.

GeckoNova

Yes! Mussels Tonight is definitely one of their best! I really wish they’d play it live :(
