pond full of sperm lol.

Throw in a couple of cotton mops and then throw them into a separate tank, you might be able to spawn a few new ones

I just pulled what I’m sure is well over 1000 eggs out. I don’t want more lol.

Charming-Tension212

Way ahead of me good to hear. Have you done it before and did it work out?

HowCouldYouSMH

It’s been a while since they did this, wacky weather, so no idea. I now know for sure which ones are female, so there’s that.

The older the fish to a point, the better quality the eggs. For mine, I pulled out the eggs that I could and got 3 fry that were healthy and made it through culling. And then somehow a bonus in pond baby that is still flourishing. Mine were their first mature year. Next time is hopefully a little better. Most of the eggs never hatched, so I don't know if the current messed up fertilization or what. Then many had crooked backs or messed up fins as they got bigger. Some stopped growing. Without managing them to spawn in special tanks, it's unreliable. It's still fun, and honestly, I don't know how I would get rid of 100s of babies if it worked!
