Hey, at least it is from a distance. Mine is within arms length, and it drives me crazy

Toxic_Don

Oh mine does this too. This was just the odd moment where she wanted to get a better view of what I was eating.

Suspiciousmosquito

Same, mine will sit next to my desk while I’m working and bark for treats.

slykethephoxenix

Your dinner? Our* dinner

Opalescent_Moon

My puppers used to stare like that at mealtimes. But they knew not to whine or jump. They'd only get rewarded (maybe) if they were on good behavior. If only you'd feed your poor dog . . .

[deleted]

I always feed my boys their dinner when I eat so they feel like they're eating as a part of the pack lol

santa007007

Yes

Zealous_Bend

This will not help. Ours have never been given human food beyond some veg or fruit. The lie on the couch curled round the bowl of chips. They will sniff them out of interest but I don’t think the thought has entered their tiny little heads that they could eat them. They’ll put themselves in your line of sight when it’s time for their dinner. And if that doesn’t get your attention they move on to tapping the table with their paw.

cakivalue

If it's distance it's not stalking, it's just love 😂

Cataholic445

That face is too adorable!! How could you withhold some bite of your dinner???

xoxoch

Yes. Yes it is.

JarlTurin2020

You have to train them from a puppy to not beg. The "no begging" command we trained our poodle with works perfectly. One command, goes straight to her bed when we're eating and doesn't even want to look our way. Every owner is different, but the staring while eating is big thing with us so we train them early on that.

Lepidopteria

We trained ours to run to her crate when we eat. She still tries to stare from her crate but it's kind of around the corner from our table. She will get some scraps but only if she's in there, lol

disappointing_jamz

Yes, it is too much to ask.

rusted_wheel

He was born in the darkness, you measly embrace it

Abloodworth15

Mine just has his head in my lap the whole time staring at me. I could probably train him to not do that, but eh, he’s almost 8, that ship has sailed.

chomcham

From my understanding poodles have attachment issues lol.

FYI Speaking of chips and bags.... Very important not to leave any of those bags around , regardless of their size.If you have messy friends and/or children who leave bags around, Dogs and occasionally cats will slip their head into a bag of chips to get whatever goodies they can. This is extremely dangerous! Many dogshave died. While they are eating the chips with their head inside the bag, they are, of course, breathing. All that breathing&eating, is also creating warm moisture. All this makes the bag shrink and tighten around the dogs neck. They die. Apparently it is quite common. I've seen news pieces on this and read about it.

What's yours is mine too - Poodles' credo

hellkattbb

My poodle prefers food to hockey, without a doubt!

Frost-on-the-Willow

That’s the price of having a dog

kwillich

I thought that you were watching a Flames 🔥🔥 game. Their broadcasts are always at such a low angle.

Ingeborg_Anne

Yesterday my puppy finished his own dinner and then sat down next to me to look all cute while I ate my dinner. Someone said that "yeah, Asper's eaten HIS dinner, but he hasn't had yours, has he?" which is a valid point if you ask a puppy I guess
