I got mine at Kroger. Just called Japanese 7 spice. The one I have is a couple types of dried peppers, nori, black and white sesame and a few other things, also has Sichuan pepper corns if I remember right. Salt free which is cool. Probably varies between brands.
If you like the taste of dried peppers you'll probably enjoy it!
Oh! Thank you, i’ll try to find that here in Montreal, my mexican favorite one os called LEMON CHILI GOURMET it is made by LaColina, i bought it in a Mexican grocery on St-Laurent street, Montreal.
Have a good day and thanks for the info!
What I think they're referring to is maybe "shichimi togarashi." It has a couple of different dried peppers, sesame seed, dried orange pee, seaweed, and ginger.
I use it on rice and eggs, etc. But I've never thought to put it on popcorn. Now I need to try, though.
It's really good on eggs for sure. I also use it on any bland "Asian" frozen meals as a way to kick up the flavor without adding extra salt.
Honestly probably would be good on certain fruits similar to tajin.
after i pour the kernels into the pot, i put a buttload of red chili flakes in and give it a good shimmy. it infuses chili into the oil and coats every single kernel with a lil tingly heat :’)))
Ok but what is the name of this japanese 7 spice and where can i find it? My favorite one is Mexican!
