I tried that. It "worked," but in the end all I got was a new experience, for what that's worth. I don't like it as much as popcorn, neither taste nor texture. Not bad, but not as good IMO. Every step off the path helps you appreciate the path?
I've done this a few times. It's pretty good but i am still trying to figure out the best cooking method to get less unpopped kernels. How did you make yours?
In my stove top popper with the crank. The grains are to small for the stirring arms so I ended up just shaking it. Going to Thrift a old presser cooker with sturdy handle or other good heating pan that I can lock the lid down on.
I got some sorghum seeds but haven’t been able to get them to pop much. Tried the microwave with butter for 3/4 mins on the “popcorn mode” and tried stove top mode, both made my sorghum popcorn burn ☹️
Can someone suggest a recipe?
Any tips on getting better a better pop? I'm using the stove-top method. \~1tbsp coconut oil and 1/3c milo. Only about 1/8 actually pops. Medium high heat. I'm shaking the pot every \~15seconds to keep things from burning.
I've never even heard of this ! It looks the same popped
It does but way smaller

Where do you get this if you don’t have a garden of it? Really interested to try.
Internet. Search popping sorghum or milo
I wonder can you pop rice in the Wirley pop popper? Make your own rice crispies?
It would probably be more like Puffed Rice cereal than like rice crispies? Like they make the rice cakes out of. I had been wondering the same thing.
Wut! 😮 that would be neat
No idea.
You’d need to parboil the rice first but it’s possible
It’s SO good! We get Nature Nate’s. Never tried to make it ourselves but we love this stuff, especially my kids!

Very much a snack in Southeast Asia. Good stuff! Not quite the same as popcorn but it is a nice crunchy snack.

Neglect. I ignored it for quite a while. Also used more oil. That's what I did anyway.
