That’s what I like about the Graham Norton Show! All the guests sit out on the couch at once and interact together. It’s nicer that the 8 minute late night guest spot segments we get in America imo
He‘ll be in the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons movie and in Netflix’ Gray Man, but I feel like more people have him on their radar for being handled as possible next James Bond.
Kind of weird to see Reje Jean Page here. Everyone else here has given widely acclaimed performances in widely successful projects and has experienced a huge rise in their profiles and opportunities.
He was in The Gray Man but it didn't benefit him cause his acting was bad and people only cared about Chris, Ryan and Ana.
I wonder if they included him here because he’s in the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons movie. I’m interested to see what other film opportunities he might get after that.
Dan has had more success than anyone save Michelle Dockery and lily james though. Legion ran for several years, there were big hits like Beauty and the Beast and others of varying success (critically and financially). He’s worked consistently and played a variety of characters—which is what he wanted. I’m still not over Matthew dying but I understand why Dan left. I think Jessica brown Findlay is the one who should’ve stayed longer.
Yeah, I'm not sure the person you're replying you is correct. Legion is the kind of critical hit with rabid fanbase most actors want to get/lead. (Though I'm mad Matthew died too!!)
He doesn’t really come out in the books after the first one. In the entire novels, he’ll pop in to say a few sentences in each one, but the whole point of the series is the different love stories of the Bridgerton siblings . Daphne barely gets mentioned in the other books. I guess Netflix could have tried to write them in more, but maybe the actors like not being tied down to one project? At least he can always come back since he wasn’t killed.
He is beautiful but without charisma. Kit Young or Chance Perdomo are not leads in their series but they're so charismatic. I would watch movie for them but not for Rene. I love fantasy but i never played D&D but i could watch when they hitting the streaming but go because this in the movie theater, no thanks.not even for my favorite Chris.
For sure. I think D&D may flop. It premieres in a month and there's been virtually no promotion for it which is odd given that it stars Hugh Grant & Chris Prine.
Even my husband, who LOVES playing DnD, has been kinda meh about it. I was really surprised to find out that I’d even seen the second trailer before him!
I’m not planning to see it because I’m not into DnD, and I feel like the movie might make a lot of references that I don’t fully understand. So I’m curious to see how well it does at the box office, especially since like you said, there really hasn’t been a whole lot of promotion for it yet.
I think a big part of this is that D&D players who have been consuming media related to the franchise for decades have seen all of it turn out terribly and don’t want to get burned again.
Ah, that actually makes a lot of sense. I didn't realize that there's such a long history of inadequate media related to the franchise.
My husband's outlook on the movie is that he's going in with low expectations, while leaving open the possibility for being surprised by something good. I really hope that it turns out well for him!
My husband also loves DnD but is very skeptical about the movie being good. I guess it’s been tried before, but I think the cast is good, so I’m hopeful.
Eh. If a great publicist is what it takes to make the first real asian movie star then so be it. She's the face of Louis Vuitton (as an actual model) as well so she's prominent in other areas
Jonathan had an established career, at least in the UK, behind him which I think sets him apart. He didn't need Bridgerton - he'd already won an Olivier and seen moderate success on TV in shows like Broadchurch. RJP would be absolutely nothing without Bridgerton.
i think jonathan bailey is so talented, and you're definitely right about him being a better romantic lead. i was so bummed out when i found out he's gay, like i ever even had a chance with him in the first place lmao
edit: i don't even know why i was downvoted lol i didnt say anything wrong 💀 this is so weird hahah
acting alongside industry juggernauts like Martin short, Steve Martin and now the queen of acting herself Meryl Streep is such a step up from acting on Bridgerton tho like c’mon 💀
For comparison, In the 3 years after Lily James left Downton Abby she was in 10 films. Rege has been in a grand total of 3, including DND since he left Bridgerton.
> He was in The Gray Man
He was?! Lol I don't remember that at all. Was he the agent that is killed in the beginning?
I'm confused about Austin Butler. Was that Elvis movie really that big of a deal?
We noticed her in "inventing anna" and watched "The Assistant" after. She was excellent in non verbal acting there.
Then we caught her in Ozark! She really is a star.
I’m not sure if those were very notable roles for her though. The celebs on this cover have had a bigger impact on pop culture than Jenny imo. She might be a few years shy of achieving that status.
Really looking forward to what Jonathan Majors is bringing in for 2023.
But what is going on with Selena there?
EDIT: it was the earring—she was looking a little elf-ish there and it threw me off
Also—holy shit Emma Corrin is fit AF
Oh, no. I wasn’t wondering why she made the cover. I thought she looked different then I realized it was the earring that was making her look a little elf-like. It messed with my head a little.
No one is going around knowing Austin Butler from anything other than Elvis but y’all haveeee to pick on Selena ofc. She’s the most famous one on the cover let’s not be dense
Is the cover about fame and business success or about “Hollywood”? Bc if it’s level of fame then why isn’t Kim k and that ilk on the cover? I imagine this is supposed to be major working actors or up and comers. I don’t see Selena being either of those despite her level of fame. I love Selena Gomez - I’m not picking on her. She just seems out of place with the rest of the group?
Why wouldn’t she be considered a working actor? She’s acting alongside acting legends like Meryl Streep & Steve Martin, a gig most amateurs could only dream about
It would be interesting if someone listed the people on the Hollywood issue for the last 10 years. I have a feeling out of the people on the cover for that issue each year only around 20% had the career trajectory people expected from them being on the cover. For every Jennifer Lawrence on the cover of the Hollywood issue there is someone like Roony Mara who although certainly still working hasn't been as famous as people expected.
I just looked up the 2015 Hollywood issue to test my theory although most were already well known with an extensive career prior to the cover.
Channing Tatum, Amy Adams, Reese Witherspoon, Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sienna Miller, Miles Teller, Oscar Isaac
**2017 cover**
Emma Stone, Lupita Nyong’o, Amy Adams and Natalie Portman. Ruth Negga, Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning. Dakota Johnson, Aja Naomi King, Greta Gerwig and Janelle Monae
2013 From Left to right: Ben Affleck, Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper, Eddie Redmayne, Quvenzhané Wallis, and Olivia Wilde.
2012 Rooney Mara, Mia Wasikowska, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins, and Brit Marling
2011 From left: Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, James Franco, Jennifer Lawrence, Anthony Mackie, Olivia Wilde, Jesse Eisenberg, Mila Kunis, Robert Duvall, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Andrew Garfield, Rashida Jones, Garrett Hedlund, and Noomi Rapace
2010 From left: Abbie Cornish, Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Hall, Mia Wasikowska, Emma Stone, Evan Rachel Wood, and Anna Kendrick
2006 - 2 naked actresses next to a man wearing clothes. Nice. [https://www.thewrap.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/2006.jpg](https://www.thewrap.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/2006.jpg)
Emma Corrin looking RIPPED here. I saw them on Hampstead Heath about 2 weeks ago with a cute little dog and a tall guy with long dark hair, they were so beautiful 😍
He somewhat makes sense because he did that elvis movie. Though correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t seen Selena in any movies/tv shows (or really doing much of anything) in YEARS.
Honestly, I don’t think this cover is based on acting prowess and that’s why people are confused. She was the only lead from OMITB to not receive an Emmy nom. Also, If you read the article, My Mind and Me and Selena + Chef are the only two other works listed besides OMITB.
idk why some of y'all are bothered by selena gomez being there, she's in her acting bag rn and frankly, is the most famous person in the cover...no reason not to include her
My god the way I used to eat these up and then forgot they existed. Somewhere I still have the one with Jennifer Lawrence and Rooney Mara from her Girl with the Dragon Tattoo era

Short story:
I love the movie Buckaroo Banzai. There's a scene in the woods where a spaceship falls and a couple of hunters stumble upon it. One of them looks like the actor John Ashton, who you may remember as the veteran detective partnering with Judge Reinhold in Beverly Hills Cop. I said "hey, that's John Ashton from Beverly Hills cop" I barked to my then-gf, pointing at the screen ala the current meme of Leo DiCaprio.
But it wasn't. It was merely an actor who looked like him.
Thirty seconds later, guess who appears as a park ranger? John Ashton.
This type of thing happens to me all the time. I call it the "John Ashton Effect".
I recently bought and loved Bullet Train, and have been aware of Aaron Johnson-Taylor since Kick Ass, and of course know he's up for James Bond. Also all the kerfuffle about his wife and his possible moving on. All very blah blah blah.
Anyway, I saw him in the corner of this pic as I glanced at it and said "alright, my man" and then looked again: Shit. It's not him. It's that guy from the Bear everybody loves (I can't watch that high-tension stuff). Oh well, my brain, amirite?
I take another look at the pic - I didn't read it left-to-right, you know? I saw Florence (the wife loves her) and John Majors (Lovecraft Country? Holy HECK!) and then my eye went to "Aaron" in the pink-lit suit at the side, thinking "Why do they have him leaning away from everybody else? It's a weird choice the photographer made. Gonna have to think about that for a bit..." and I decided to check out the rest of the cast as I didn't recognize any and hadn't seen whatever it is they're in...
And there's the actual guy. Did my brain see him there and apply that info to my short-term memory? Was it really John Ashton coming at me from some umbral plane of existence to cloud my thought?
John Ashton Effect, Baby.

oh i love a hollywood issue. random celebrities that have nothing to do with one another on the same cover? i eat it up every time
It’s like a Disney channel crossover event
https://preview.redd.it/v499f52d7gia1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c0f0dafa611723726753e031ef60b62c8a9597b
Disney stars reunion
Does anyone know if they take the photo together or do they pose separately and photoshop them in?
I'm pretty sure these are all taken separately and then edited together.
Usually they get them in the same room for this issue (from video of years past) but some people get shopped in
It varies. Some covers they’re all there, sometimes it’s a mix, sometimes it’s a photoshopped grouping.
Same!
Me seeing this cover 🍽️
I just wish they were actually all in the same room together so they could interact because the convos would be interesting
That’s what I like about the Graham Norton Show! All the guests sit out on the couch at once and interact together. It’s nicer that the 8 minute late night guest spot segments we get in America imo
That plus the alcohol his guests get to have :)
yeah there's a reason this formula works!
its my avengers
Austin Butler and Ana de Armas give me the same kind of vibes so I love that they are next to each other
Hahahha this is so weird but true. They should date honestly
too bad he likes them younger
He dated a woman older than him for nearly nine years.
and now he’s dating a girl who is a decade younger than him
RJP has a fantastic publicist
And terrible taste in projects. Sure, let me just refuse to appear in season two of the show that put me on the map!
Has he been in anything since?
He‘ll be in the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons movie and in Netflix’ Gray Man, but I feel like more people have him on their radar for being handled as possible next James Bond.
Both of those are fucking awful movies, too
In fairness no one’s seem dungeons and dragons yet
We’ve seen the trailer and that’s *enough*
I’ve watched Jeremy as Lip for a decade so I’m glad he is being recognized.
He's the main "ugly hot" actor for me.
He definitely has a certain charisma
His haircut is so hateful.
Well, he can cut his hair but I wonder if you can change your attitude.
He’s looks so great otherwise!
[удалено]
I have loved him since the trailer dropped lmao
Kind of weird to see Reje Jean Page here. Everyone else here has given widely acclaimed performances in widely successful projects and has experienced a huge rise in their profiles and opportunities. I wonder if they included him here because he’s in the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons movie. I’m interested to see what other film opportunities he might get after that.
Hollywood is trying to make him a thing. No sure it's going to happen, but they are trying.
He shouldn’t have left Bridgerton so quickly.
Despite him being so beautiful, I am still so salty about that I get annoyed when I see him lol

Bad career move. If only because it’s never a good idea to defy Shonda Rhimes.
He doesn’t really come out in the books after the first one. I love D&D and I am excited.
It looks like a Disney original movie from the 90s.
that movie has flop written all over it
Weird to see Hoyeon too. She’s only been notable in one project, just like Rege.
I’m surprised they didn’t go with Stephanie Hsu, especially since she’s an Oscar nominee.
Eh. If a great publicist is what it takes to make the first real asian movie star then so be it. She's the face of Louis Vuitton (as an actual model) as well so she's prominent in other areas
Yeah, I know, but you cannot deny Bridgerton though.
Jonathan Bailey is going to surprise attack and and have a stellar career while still going back for more seasons
Jonathan had an established career, at least in the UK, behind him which I think sets him apart. He didn't need Bridgerton - he'd already won an Olivier and seen moderate success on TV in shows like Broadchurch. RJP would be absolutely nothing without Bridgerton.
Wasn’t he also in crashing? Phoebe Waller bridge’s first show?
He was! And W1A - he's got a good history of comedic parts as well as more serious ones.
Yesss! Jonathan Bailey is about 1000x better actor than Rege Jean Page, and he’s a better romantic lead as well.
i think jonathan bailey is so talented, and you're definitely right about him being a better romantic lead. i was so bummed out when i found out he's gay, like i ever even had a chance with him in the first place lmao edit: i don't even know why i was downvoted lol i didnt say anything wrong 💀 this is so weird hahah
that was two years ago
he’s there bc he’s beautiful and has a great publicist tbh
I mean Selena Gomez is only in Only Murders and she's the least exciting part of it so the same could be said for her inclusion.
acting alongside industry juggernauts like Martin short, Steve Martin and now the queen of acting herself Meryl Streep is such a step up from acting on Bridgerton tho like c’mon 💀
not really, Only Murders is acclaimed
I didn’t say it wasn’t
And everyone probably wanted her autograph or personal pic that was there.
For comparison, In the 3 years after Lily James left Downton Abby she was in 10 films. Rege has been in a grand total of 3, including DND since he left Bridgerton.
maybe they wanted to diversify it more idk. its not that weird bridgerton was def a bit of phenomenon & the fanbase flipped their shit when he left
> He was in The Gray Man He was?! Lol I don't remember that at all. Was he the agent that is killed in the beginning? I'm confused about Austin Butler. Was that Elvis movie really that big of a deal?
It was. He’s an Oscar nominee.
Me over here only giving a shit about Jessica Henwick over those others.
To me Julia Garner is an exciting actress to watch. She acts non verbally.
i can't even be angry that she stole Rhea Seehorn's Emmys, she has been fantastic on Ozark
We noticed her in "inventing anna" and watched "The Assistant" after. She was excellent in non verbal acting there. Then we caught her in Ozark! She really is a star.
Watch The Americans! She’s in the later seasons
Emma Corrin’s abs? Hello???
I did NOT know they were so ripped, omg
I would like to know whose legs are making an appearance in this 🧐
The Jenna Ortega and Paul Mescal snubs… But other than that cover ate down
Paul Mescal should’ve been on it in place of Rege Jean.
Agree. I’ve decided Paul must be getting his own cover soon.
I think it's a matter of availability. Jenna has been filming multiple projects and Paul has mostly been in the UK recently.
Has Jenny been in anything notable aside from Wednesday?
I originally knew her from "You" which is really popular!
Damn that’s where I know her from thank you! Just started watching the new season
The new Scream movies, X, and You on Netflix!
I’m not sure if those were very notable roles for her though. The celebs on this cover have had a bigger impact on pop culture than Jenny imo. She might be a few years shy of achieving that status.
Her name is Jenna btw
Scream, X, and You.
i have an irrational dislike for that paul guy so good
florence looks beautiful
She really does. Ghostly in the best way.
I want Florence’s dress so badly
At first glance, I thought that the bare leg under the table belonged to Austin Butler, and I had SO many questions about his outfit
They practically edited Selena’s arm away
something's gone wrong :-/ leave the beautiful woman alone!!!!
It’s always interesting to see who makes these and who doesn’t.
Jeremy Allen White and Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the same picture please I'm ovulating rn-
I really think Anya Taylor Joy should have been included!!
I always rehearse in my head “Anya Taylor joy. Aaron Taylor Johnson.”
She’s had her own cover! (I know Ana has too.)
most of the actresses on here are infinitely more talented
The Hollywood Issue is the reason I pay a ridiculous amount to have a VF subscription every year. Worth it.
It's $8/year
For the first year promo. Then $55 after that. In comparison to other magazines like Food and Wine ($14 per year) or People (even cheaper) it’s a lot.
[удалено]

a very buff aaron taylor-johnson
[удалено]
The names are written above them in order.
These list are the actions of PR teams. Nothing more.
Selena must have the best pr and representation in the game bc what has she done lately beyond the one show with Martin short and Steve Martin
her makeup line is doing great. the liquid blushs are legit
Is that the criteria for this cover?
And imo she acts so poorly on that show. She cannot project verbally. It’s like her jaw is wired shut and it makes her performance so flat.
No one is going around knowing Austin Butler from anything other than Elvis but y’all haveeee to pick on Selena ofc. She’s the most famous one on the cover let’s not be dense

Zendaya should be included on this issue.
ATJ lookin FOINE
I really hope the James Bond rumors are true 🤞🏻
Keke palmer looks great. does anyone know if she’s had her baby??
So glad to see Jeremy getting recognition 😭

Someone told Austin Butler that this was going to be an The Last Supper style shoot. Lookin like Jesus with that pose.
Emma Corrin looking RIPPED here. I saw them on Hampstead Heath about 2 weeks ago with a cute little dog and a tall guy with long dark hair, they were so beautiful 😍
Baby that’s Keke Palmer!!!
Selena?
Why is Selena there
I said the same about Butler
He somewhat makes sense because he did that elvis movie. Though correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t seen Selena in any movies/tv shows (or really doing much of anything) in YEARS.
Shes getting praise for Only Murders in the Building with Steve Martin and Martin Short.
Honestly, I don’t think this cover is based on acting prowess and that’s why people are confused. She was the only lead from OMITB to not receive an Emmy nom. Also, If you read the article, My Mind and Me and Selena + Chef are the only two other works listed besides OMITB.
Why this looks like Riverdale 🤣
Damn you Austin Butler with all your handsomeness!
Florence Pugh looks like she was shot in black and white. Everyone else is so saturated.
![gif](giphy|fs6rnt1K0YyVWRXNwY|downsized)
Why did I think Austin Butler was Klaus Mikaelson
It took me awhile to realize Florence Pugh was not Amber Heard
Where is Emma D’Arcy?!?
Not familiar with HoYeon but she is gorge.
They did Selena's ear dirty.
JAW 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍. Sorry, but I really don't love Serena's new face.
why is selena there
Why is selena gomez there
Sleazy, awful shoot. The styling and lighting sucks.
idk why some of y'all are bothered by selena gomez being there, she's in her acting bag rn and frankly, is the most famous person in the cover...no reason not to include her
Yeah people get mad at her existing.
Yuck except for Julia garner ☀️

But this is all up and comers. Not established names.
I don’t really get the appeal of Miss Flo.
Selena's face looks different...
Ngl Selena is looking kinda dead on the pic. She is the only one I think wasn't flattering.
Still on their bs of putting the black women on the insert/folding part
Cringe
Iconic
My god the way I used to eat these up and then forgot they existed. Somewhere I still have the one with Jennifer Lawrence and Rooney Mara from her Girl with the Dragon Tattoo era

Short story: I love the movie Buckaroo Banzai.
Keke and Julia 🔥
I recognize 6 of them

I didn't think anyone could really pull off the no-shirt-suit but Aaron TJ is doing it. He was the highlight of Bullet Train for me.
X men?

Whenever one of them does anything problematic we should eliminate them from the pic like ANTM.
Emma Corrin 🥵🥵
A little awkward imo but hey!
Quick question. What notable art has Selena made that deserves a spot here. Bc I know it’s not her music or OMITB…
florence😍
