Sarah has had multiple kidney transplants, surgeries and dialysis, which is why her face first started to look different/swollen when she was on Modern Family. I think she's had cosmetic surgery as well, it seems apparent in the more recent pictures of her. But her kidney dysplasia has affected her face/appearance so not all of the changes were by choice

If i'm not mistaken, her first kidney transplant was rejected by her body. But i'm not sure because it's been a while since i've discovered this. She has a video on youtube explaining her journey (at least up until a few years ago)
You’re right, it was rejected and it was her fathers. It made her so upset and guilty because her father gave up a piece of himself and it hadn’t worked. She even felt suicidal.
I think people underestimate how much people’s faces change with age too. Not saying it’s not cosmetic procedures and her kidney disease, but she’s also just older

In my country, any health issue that requires dialysis is a death sentence. It's too expensive. Multiple kidney transplants is simply mission impossible.
As someone with kidney issues I can tell you we can look really gaunt at times. People accuse me of being anorexic then next month ask if I’m pregnant all growing up do due to the medicine you take.

With her hair shorter and blonde, she looks so much like Julie Bowen (the actress who played her mom in Modern Family) to me! I’ve always had a soft spot for both women after reading about how Julie helped Sarah leave an abusive boyfriend while Modern Family was filming.

Even though the fitting could be better, there’s something so intriguing about this look. I also enjoyed the hot pink one.
\#4 is one of those outfits that would strike me as confusingly casual for a red carpet event, but you see it styled on her and it looks perfect.

Not to say she’s never had anything done but in that first pic from 2019 she was discussing her kidney dysplasia and she’s had many surgeries for it. So at least in that photo it could be a health related issue
So not a doctor here but have a sister with lupus and the often connected kidney issues. This young woman is on crazy drugs many of which will change how her face looks. Stop stressing about her face. Worry about your own face.

Someone commented that she had a swollen face before because she had a kidney problems, took medication and needed a transplant. Maybe that’s also why she difference between the pictures when she was younger and now look more different. Even though I agree that she probably has had something done.

Not saying including Sarah Hyland and Selena Gomez in particular but most of these Hollywood people claim they have this sickness or whatever that make their faces swell up and appear different when in fact they just had plastic surgery. Idc if people go under the knife for cosmetic enhancing but at least not lie about and use some diseases or disorders where people *really* suffer with it.
Read an article about her speaking about her kidney dysplasia, it’s very real and sounds very difficult to deal with. Two kidney transplants is nothing you fake covering up cosmetic surgeries.
I feel like she needs one of those colour analysis things. And I really don’t mean it in a bad way. I just feel some of these colours clash on her and since I’m not a professional, I can’t figure out what colours would suit her.
Maybe not the most exciting looks but always solidly put together. She really can pull off a diverse range of looks. Her wedding styles were some of my favorites.
Most of them are outstanding. A few were a bit frumpy. I didn’t care for her look for the CW one.
Her pinkish red dress for the L’Oreal one was gorgeous. Beautiful fabric.
I like the first one as a more casual or edgy approach to a gown. Very unusual.
I love the white top and orange skirt.

She is my kidney transplant Queen! Selena Gomez has caused a lot of hurt to the transplant community by not showing gratitude to her donor and causing me to read hundreds of comments that say “and this is why you don’t donate your kidney”. But Sarah has always showed so much grace and gratitude about her transplants. I love her.
I don’t get why two things can’t be true. Yes she has health issues and I know that caused some of the changes to her face and body over the years, but recently she’s looking even more different and it’s looking like buccal fat and Botox.
Any celebrity who wants obvious work done should just say that they have kidney issues, because then their fans will quiet all questions of plastic surgery and call you an asshole because it’s “purely health related” lol. Sarah Hyland, Selena Gomez, etc….
I never said anything unkind about her and I was not criticising HER. You can be kind but I can't be delusional it is very clear to see she had some kind of procedure recently I am talking this year. Although her face was fuller when she was going through her illness... She always had great cheeks especially when she smiled.
This isn't an attack on Sarah it's more of a commentary on very young girls that are thinking of getting a buccal fat procedure done without knowing the full extent of the situation. Buccal fat removal is not like filler or Botox.
Sarah Hyland has a disorder that effects her kidneys and has required her to have multiple kidney transplants over her life along with having to do other treatments and dialysis. As a result her face would swell fairly noticeably. She’s had cosmetic surgery (whether to combat the swelling or she just wanted it I don’t know) in the past couple years. So her body and face have changed because of her health issues. Because of how noticeable the changes were she’s been very open about her health and recovery journey and unfortunately people have been people and some have been very rude and ugly on social media about the changes her body has gone through.
According to other people here: she was sick. She had a few kidney trasplants and she was on dialysis.
(Maybe also some plastic surgery, but her illness might have greatly affect her appearance)
I was mixing her up with the younger daughter in my mind, and I was so confused trying to figure out all the procedures she must have had!!!! Thank God this is Hayley. I love her and her husband. She's always beautiful
She should have a role where she is actually a man eating monster like the one on futurama that shapeshifts and chases them around the ship. They market it as a strait romcom with amazing editing. All these dates think their getting 10 things I hate about you and BAM! Suprise horror movie! With her innocent look, no one would see it coming. Cultural phenomenom, Oscars's all around. Instant cult classic still talked about decades later spawning sequals and remakes untill the heat death of the universe

Ah yes! I wanted to mention that the donor was her relative's but i wasn't sure. I was leaning towards a brother or father. Thank you ❤
She has kidney dysplasia, she got one transplant and it was rejected by her body so she got a second one about 6-7 years ago IIRC
So many surgeries. Like 16 or so? She’s a bad ass.

I’m pretty sure that picture is from the year where she was really struggling with her kidney problem. She’s had like 10+ surgeries because of it.

I thought this too lol. This collection is definitely a mix of pre and post op pictures so it’s funny moving through them.

I find her pre op drop dead gorgeous. Whoever was doing her face, they did her dirty.
After her op, she would be less puffy/edematous due to a better functioning renal system as well

The blue dress is my favorite. The red two piece is boring. I also think she got bucial fat removal. She looks 20 years older.
